"In a school of Satan" "The story of the rain and you..." "Sounds interesting" Oh my, that's crazy. "That!!" [AH] [Hmm] "I don't feel like eighteen anymore" [Ahhh] [Episode 182 Princess Woo-hee and the clear Ha-neul] [MMTG / Spread the new stuff] [March 2021 @ Gangnam] [Chun Woo-hee / playing Sohee in "Rain and Your Story"]
[Kang Ha-neul / playing Young-ho in "Rain and Your Story"] [Opening] [Surprised]
What's that. [Ahahaha] [Tada]
Duruduru That's cool. [Loud]
I heard it's December 31. [Just amazed] Hello. Hello. Oh my. [Clap]
It's a celebrity. Celebrity. Welcome. We've been waiting for a long time. I really wanted to come on this show too. Really!?!? I've known about this ever since it aired on SBS. [Wow]
[A real fan] [Subscribe / Like] [Starting with Icebreaking] So Ha-neul [Laughing] you've been doing things that are hard to understand. [Shy]
[Hahahaha] [Please get your shoulders together.jpg] So they were asking you to get your shoulders close with other people. But you understood it the wrong way. [Photographer]
Get your shoulders together please~! [Shoulders]
[Together] [?????] It's actually cute. [According to Ha-neul]
[Did it on purpose to lighten up the mood] [The truth] It's not only this. [???]
Now please get your arms together. [Arms together.jpg] [Arms on his own] [Crossing arms] So you were supposed to be arm in arm with the other person. But you did it on your own. [Smile] [According to Ha-neul]
[It was only a short moment] [Hahahaha] Oh so you have a lot of short moments. Yeah, the previous photo too. [Hahahaha] [No confusion] And for Woo-hee. You saw Suzy at a premiere [Remembered] Since you really liked Suzy, the moment your friends told you that she was there [Shy]
You went up and said "I like you." [A shy confession] Really?!?! It wasn't like that. Then, how did you say it? Well, my friends knew that I really liked Suzy. They knew that I was a fan. [A successful fan]
She was also at the premiere. [Company executive]
Go say hi~! So I could have just said hi, but I said, "I really like you." [Straight forward fan] [Hahahaha] [So fun]
Hahaha So that's how I said hi. What did Suzy say. She said "Thank you." Any contacts after that? We're following each other on social media but I'm just pressing likes. That shows how relationships are in these times. I think it was better when we used Cyworld. [True]
Yeah. I remember. What was your BGM for your homepage? I think it was a song from the band "The Second Moon" "Ice Pond"? [Ha-neul's BGM]
[The Second Moon - Ice Pond (Princess Hours OST)] Oh "The Second Moon" Ah [The melody] You liked the "Princess Hours" style [Hahaha] [Expensive royal taste] Those memories. There were also cases when people asked to change weird nicknames. [Curious]
What nickname would you have given each other. You know, putting like my closest friend Putting weird symbols. I would put "Woo-hee princess" "Woo-hee princess" [A shocking nickname] [Hahahaha] [Goosebumps] [Automatic goosebumps] ["Woo-hee princess"] What about you? KangSky [Ok]
Or KangSkyblue clearlikeachild [That's the feeling] Wow, you're so good. [Ahahaha] A special child, KangSky and Woo-hee princess. [Woo-hee princess and KangSky] We were talking about Suzy and came all the way here. [Subscribe / Like] [Review]
[The filmography of the cast of "Rain and Your Story"] We will be talking about your filmography. Woo-hee you debuted with "The funny hair girl 2." Wow, you know that? Without any names. [In the movie, 'Love, So Divine']
"The funny hair girl 2." I wasn't even 1. I was 2. [Days without any name] You sort of have a similar debut with me. Yes, you used to act. [Friends]
That's right. I played a minor role in a movie in 2009. Ha-neul, you were in "You're My Pet." Yes. We were in the same movie. You were there? [Of course] [Ahahaha] Really??? I was a working at the fashion company in the movie. [Finding a friend in 10 years] Anyways, welcome my friends. Hello. [Hahahaha] We'll talk about 'Sunny' first. Yes. [Role of Sang-mi in 'Sunny'] You were really known for this role. Your acting was so great. [The scene of sniffing glue] [No misunderstandings] Shim Eun-kyung said she was really scared with your acting. [Scared Shim Eun-kyung] [Ahahaha] Really? Wow. I was really close with Eun-kyung. But, when we were acting, I had to scare her. So I was really into that role. [Interesting]
Isn't that so cool? So when the camera is off, you're like hey Eun-kyung. Hey you. You're like that. [Yes yes]
[Haha] When the camera turns on [Eyes rolling]
Do you smell the glue? You're saying these things. [100% accurate] [I was like that?] That's amazing. I heard that you were in a slump for about 2 years after the movie. Yes. I guess it was because I played such a strong character. Also, I think there were some stereotypes because of the movie. So, although it was an advantage that your acting was impressive, there were a bit of hardship preparing for the next films. It's like the cast of Harry Potter can't be saying 'Expecto Patronum' for their whole career. [Agreeing]
Yes, I wanted to show my different sides. So the next piece you worked on was So the next piece you worked on was [Han Gong-ju in the movie "Han Gong-ju"] [Clap]
[Wow] [Amazed]
Wow this was great starting from the poster. It had a great atmosphere to it. We didn't have a separate shoot for the poster. It was a low budget movie. It was made by capturing a scene from the movie. Wow [Surprised]
Really? Wow, so your eyes are teary in this captured picture? Yes, the director captured a scene from the film for the poster. I heard that the moment you heard about the role, you thought that it was a piece that you must participate in. There was this strong pull. The moment I saw the name Han Gong-ju, I immediately thought that this was a role for me. [Interesting]
I guess there is such a thing. I think it was destiny. So, the role of Han Gong-ju is one of the characters that you feel most special about. Yes, I do. Me too. Really? Yes, there is a special place in my heart for the 'princess.' Thank you. Marion Cotillard [French actress Marion Cotillard] complemented Chun Woo-hee's acting. "Her acting as the protagonist was fantastic." I really respect Marion Cotillard. So, it was an honor that she saw my acting. [Sincere]
I felt great. That's why you worked so hard on the film and you received so many awards. [2014 Blue Dragon Film Award for Best Leading Actress] Chun Woo-hee from "Han Gong-ju" [Moment of emotion] [Surprised] [She couldn't believe it] [Amazed] [A round of applause] [Tears] [Wow] I think it's my first time watching this. I just got goosebumps since I haven't watched this in a long time. Why am I getting goosebumps too. I'm weird. It was a low budget movie [Crying] [Tears dropping] and I'm not a famous actress [Second round of tears] but receiving such a great award. Why am I continuing to get goosebumps? [Me too]
It's amazing, right? At the time, I was thinking about just enjoying the film awards. But when I was called for the award [Sincerely surprised] I guess it was a piece that sort of made me the actress I am, so it was already very meaningful. But on top of that, receiving the award was unimaginable. At the time, no low budget movie ever received an award. At the awards, Kim Hye-soo was the host [I remember] and she cried with me. I knew that. You knew that?!?! I was doing my award acceptance speech and I heard the "Uh~~T_T" sound from the host seat. [Tears]
So that made me cry more. Maybe because of that, she kissed your hand at the Baeksang Arts Awards. She was like, "Long time no see!" Someone took this photo. [Amazed]
Wow this is such a beautiful photo. It almost looks like a scene from a movie. [A movie scene] Did you [Questioning]
see where the camera was at before the photo? [Hahaha] [Hahaha] [Honestly didn't know]
Who took this?! [Hahaha] You also were apart of 'Be Melodramatic.' [Wow] [Clap] [JTBC 'Be Melodramatic' Im Jin-joo role] Han Suk-kyu, who you acted with in the movie 'Idol' told you that sometimes you need to take a brake from acting roles that take a lot of your energy. I heard that it was an advice that helped you a lot. He said that although the roles that ask a lot from are important, it's also important to take on roles that I can do right now. So it was a time when I was looking for such roles. That's when I got to act in 'Be Melodramatic.' That's true. Looking at all the films that you participated in 'Han Gong-ju', 'Cart', 'Love, Lies', 'The Wailing', 'Idol.' Looking at those roles, [Role of Han Gong-ju in 'Han Gong-ju'] [Role of Mijin in 'Cart'] [Role of Mu-myeong in 'The Wailing'] [Role of Ryeon-hwa in 'Idol'] All the roles you played in were really very special. It seemed that you were playing roles that required a lot of focus. But looking at this, [A more daily and normal acting tone] it looked like a role that suits you at this point of time. In an interview, you mentioned that you became more opened up after taking part in 'Be Melodramatic.' Love is a normal feeling, right? Since love is a feeling that everyone has [Listening] I felt that sometimes love can be the most dramatic feeling. I guess everyone has that feeling. When I was young, I felt like love stories were so cliche. I guess it's because you don't really know or feel what love was at that age. But as I get older, these things that seem cliche seem to be closer to the truth. [Agreeing]
That's right. [Wow]
You're such a great speaker. [All of a sudden?] The interview is flawless. Excuse me for saying this, but it feels great. It feels like I'm listening to the back stories. It's fun, right? Totally. Now, it's your turn. I'm curious too. [Subscribe / Like] We cannot not talk about 'Dongju.' It was amazing. Look at this. [Role of Yun Dong-ju in 'Dongju: The Portrait of a Poet'] You seemed to be Yun Dong-ju himself. [Bowing]
Thank you. I heard that you didn't receive a minimum guarantee. [True]
But it wasn't only me. All the actors and the staffs. Everyone? Yes, even the director and all the staffs. We just tried to work really hard together. Just like 'Han Gong-ju.' It was a low budget movie so if it was successful in the box office, we said that let's divide the profit then. [No minimum guarantee] So that how we started. It's really fortunate that it was a great success. [Feeling proud] [Joking]
So that's why we can talk about it while laughing. [Joking]
Of course. I heard that it had such a low budget that four cities were filmed in one building [Unbelievable use of space] Four cities in one building. They filmed four cities in one building. [Amazed]
How do you know all this? We couldn't actually go to Japan So within one movie set Here's Japan and change a little bit In front of Yeonhee School (Old Yonsei University) So we filmed it like that So like theme parks in Jeju island all in one place lol [Perfect analogy]
[Lol] The director directed so that you could [Lol]
walk around all the cities in one place lol That's an awesome ability. Like Petite France [A small France in Korea] [Lol]
[Laughs] Petite France lol Yeah x2 Park Jung-min actually went to Manchuria, paying the trip with his own money for survey Right x3 [Tombs of Writer Song Mong-kyu and
Poet Yun Dong-ju in Manchuria] He went there and said to them "I won't be of disgrace." And at the time there were crows [Listening] Apparently crows are birds of good luck over there. [Amazed]
Crows were flying around there. Before filming the movie Wow there is such a thing like that. That's amazing. Jung-min said at the time "I feel like the movie will go well." Right. So this movie was filmed in black and white I heard you focused on eyebrow acting because moving eyebrows really help with expressing emotions. It's more like I learned new things. The biggest advantage of a black and white film is that I get to focus on facial expressions by focusing on eyes, eyebrows, nose and mouth. [Minute and detailed movements] So I thought I should use that to my advantage. I actually felt that effect. Because of that, I was able to focus
on detailed expressions of Dong-ju and was able to focus on the movie better Filming 'Dong-ju' was a little different for me. I thought to myself whether if I'd be proud to him or disgrace to him when I later meet him in heaven or afterlife. I heard you thought really hard about the part 'until death' when you were recording 'Prelude' and 'Night of Counting the Stars'. [Nods]
Right x2 [The 'Prelude', completed the recording of it
after contemplating deeply] I thought hard about tones and voices that people can empathize with. Also, the ending was picked as one of its highlights 'Sky, Wind, Star and Poem' And then the OST 'Self-portrait' you sang yourself [Kidding]
showing Dong-ju from the start to end lol [Lol]
[Hahaha] Also we have to talk about Yong-sik [Hwang Yong-sik from KBS2's 'When the Camellia Blooms'] I heard you toned down the makeup [Passion]
to portray innocent vibe. Right right. [Ha-neul is Yong-sik, just without a dialect] [Clean Ha-neul] [Really?]
Oh~~okay. I wonder if you became Yong-sik or if you actually share many similarities with Yong-sik Well actually I'm just emphasizing some parts within me so Yong-sik is within me as well They are all parts of me. Actually all acting is like that. It starts from me. It's like you start from yourself, a tree and then you branch out like a mind map. [Nice]
I'm using that. [Yes]
You should use that. "So it starts with me, a tree" "and like a mind map" "I branch out" He's good x2 lol Do you know this? There's a highlight where Yong-sik confesses to Dong-baek. Yes. [Laughs] "We should live together" "Mmm?" [Pause a moment] [Cute]
"Come on" "Mmm?" There's a scene like that lol. Because people are so into this "Mmm? Come on. Mmm?" [1 hour of it] [Can feel the madness of it] [Lol] [Sees it the first time]
What is that?!?!? It's a full one hour replay of it. What?!?!?! [Why would]
I mean... [Discovers something]
Look at the views. It's nothing but "Mmm? Come on. Mmm?" [1 hour of "Mmm? Come on. Mmm?" replay.mp4] Isn't that weird? That's how much they like it. [Politely]
Well I'm thankful to the person who made this But I can't watch it, maybe because it's my face lol Can you do "Mmm? Come on. Mmm?" one more time so that these people can make an updated version of 2021? [Excited]
Wow Where should I look? [Lol] "We should live together." "Mmm?" "Come on." "Mmm?" "Mmm? Come on." "Mmm?" [A broken record of Yong-sik] [Lol] [Endless replay] "Mmm? Mmm?" [Lol] [Creepy] "Mmm? Mmm?" "Come on. Mmm?" [Lol] Should I go on for 1 hour? Lol "Come on. Mmm?" Wow a self replay [Lol]
A self replay lol [Begins again] This is hilarious lol. To the person that created the clip I'd appreciate it if you can make the updated version after watching this. But before Yong-sik Who else was there. Show us. [Wait]
[Screams] [Lee Hyo-shin from "The Heirs"] [Takes off] "I picked out the ones I think are good..." [Nooooo] [A workbook no one asked for] Nooo shut up. [My past]
Shut up. [Breathes] "...It's what I cherish in many ways" [It's coming]
Nooo [Nooo]
[Please] "Thank you Cha Eun-sang" "For being a part of good memories" "of my cruel high school days" [Gets up] [??????] [Attempts destruction of evidence] [Lol] Why. It's your cruel high school days lol [No]
Go back go back That's the important part!!!!!!!! The next line is important! [Not listening] "I hope it's a boring romance movie" "that is covered in love." [Please stop] [Standing up again] "I hope it's a boring romance movie." [Can't hold it] Ahhhhhh [Mouth drying up] [Dancing the awkwardness away] Ahhhh [The level is increasing] "You'll know next year" [Breathing in] "I don't feel like eighteen anymore" [Snorting] "Oh my god." "I don't feel like eighteen anymore?" [that pronunciation] "What's the title today?" "It's a 100 days" "Huh?" Uhm "With whom?" [Smirk] [Can't hold it anymore] [An amazing] [Sense of humor] "A 100 days till the national college exam." [Jaejae leaving the studio] [Head turned down] There is still one scene left. [Scared]
What is it. The one on the rooftop! That one! [Laughing] No! [Standing up again]
Wait.. Wait so this. Yeah that. That one! That's the one! Climax! "Satan in the school of Lucifer" Ahhhh [Rather not watch]
Alalalalalalala "Sounds fun" [Why was I like that]
Wow There was Yong-sik because there was Hyo-shin. That's what I think. I miss Kim Eun-sook the screenwriter. I'm curious. When you received the script, you probably thought, "This is how I should act." When I first received the script, [Pip] I was like [Pause] [Buffering] [Dizzy]
I'm still in shock. [Strong memories of Hyo-shin] I felt like I shouldn't put so much emphasis in the acting. A real professional [True]
It's still talked about to this day. I actually think your acting was great. Because that acting Do you remember? Ahahahaha [That front bang] You built your acting career from plays and musicals like 'Thrill Me' and 'Spring Awakening.' I actually went and watched Spring Awakening.' [Surprised]
Really?! It was the play with Joo Won and Jo Jung-suk. My sister really like that musical so I went with her. [Happy]
Really? I remember everything. When I first saw you, didn't you play the role of Ernst? That's right. It was a naive student role. [Naive and pure character] That's right. I think that's why you played the role of Hyo-shin so well. I think the experience from musicals and plays really helped. 'The Heirs' was my early days of acting on screen. There were so many people watching me. [Director / People walking around / Staffs / Actors]
I think the experience helped me be more comfortable around a crowd of people. Yeah, so the play experience helped you a lot. [Wait]
There are more things to come. What's this? [Cool]
It's never ending. There's so many things left. [Subscribe / Like] [A preview of releasing movies / Analog mood film 'Rain and Your Story'] The poster is very eye catching. [Ad included]
What is this folding effect. [Detail]
If you look at the background, it's very different. [N Seoul Tower]
On the left is the N Seoul Tower. [Gwangan Bridge]
On the right is the Gwangan Bridge. The two characters are in different places. From Seoul to Busan. Does the fold represent a letter? [Oh]
That could be the case. So the two people are sharing letters from Seoul to Busan? [Nodding]
Yes. [Connected by a letter from Seoul to Busan] So it's like a penpal, right? [True]
Yes. In a way, yes. So it's based on 2003. The days where we used Cyworld. 'Ppodae Princess' Oh 'Ppodae Princess' 'Ppodae Princess Woo-hee' and 'KangSky' They're exchanging letters. So you guys were teenagers in 2003. That's correct. What were you doing in 2003. I think I was watching 'Rustic Period.' I was watching 'Rustic Period.' Gone like the wind. [The TV show that engulfed Korea] When they were fighting Gumajeok [Of course]
Sirasoni Sirasoni~ I think it was that. So in 2003, you were watching 'Rustic Period.' Eating lunch box from Hansot. Wow, you remember everything. I heard the movie really reflected that time. In the movie, I heard that there is a character called Young-ho. Can you explain? He was a person without any dreams and goals just living a boring life. But he suddenly gets a chance to exchange letters with Sohee. That brings excitement in to his life and it slowly colors his mundane life. That's the character. What role is Sohee? She works at an antique bookshop with her mother taking care of her older sister and living her life. She's a bright person and suddenly receives letters from Young-ho. So they get to understand each other and continue exchanging letters. I heard that you make great comparisons of movie characters to animals. That's right. [Curious]
What animal is Sohee? Do you know capybaras? They're really cute and friendly like Quokkas. What about Young-ho? A large dog. A cute dog. A golden retriever?! So he has a cute side. I think that suits him. [Bonus questions] In this situation, I would act like this and Young-ho/Sohee would act like this. [Understood] Sounds fun. First situation. [Situation 1. First got a phone that flips sideways] [Excited and dancing in my room but my family notices] [Excited and dancing in my room but my family notices] [Already don't like it]
Whoa Don't wanna even think about it. Back in the old days "What you up to?" Da da da Doing my thang [Cell phone ad in early 2000s] [Latest Tech / Flip] "Where are you?" "Doing my thang" [Perfect synchronization] [Recalling memory] I get what you're saying. [Pole]
You mean this? The 'horizontal instinct' -
doing the 'human flag' on the pole That's right. [The ad that defies gravity] Did 'Anymotion' did that? [Bam]
Da da da da [Bam]
Sing's 'Anymotion' [2000s style rapping] [Lee Hyori (feat. Eric) - Anymotion ('Anycall' ad song)] Laughs [Clap] Eric and Hyori [Days when Eric and Hyori worked hard] Was that the time she had thread hairstyle on side [Hyori who lead the trend] Adidas style~ [Remembers]
Right right [Cell phone ad song at the time]
Anyband - TPL (Talk Play Love) [Memory]
Wow~ What a memory. [Anyband - TPL (Talk Play Love)] Are you talking about the scene
where they sang at a corner of a rooftop? Right! At the end of the rooftop [Remembers]
That corner! [Anyband: A project band with Kim Junsu, Boa,
Tablo, and a pianist Jin Bora as members
to promote S Electronics' cell phone 'Anycall'] There was a Big Brother too [A Big Brother that surveils modern society] Jin Bora plays piano [Anyband: A project band with Kim Junsu, Boa,
Tablo, and a pianist Jin Bora as members
to promote S Electronics' cell phone 'Anycall'.] Wow Jin Bora! [Time warp to 2003 instantly] I just got goosebumps. [Back to the conversation]
Anyway, what would you do in that situation? What was the question again? You sang 'Anymotion', and 'TPL'. And through the door that's slightly ajar [Horrible] Your family sitting on a couch looks at you [Pathetic]
as if you're pathetic. If that person was 'Young-ho'? He'd probably hide under a blanket as soon as he makes eye contact [Understood] "Why did I do that..." He'd be blaming himself. So Young-ho is timid. [Right] What about you, Ha-neul? Would you slam the door open and go to the living room and starts dancing seriously?! [Thinks about it]
I would "Open my wings~ (singing)" [Ha-neul opening his wing] You'd be like "Talk Anymotion" I would pretend like I'm filming a UCC clip that was a fad at the time. [UCC suddenly brought up] Ha ha ha ha [Thumbs up]
Wow what a genius What a pathetic excuse. So pathetic. I just got goosebumps. A UCC? [UCC that dominated the world before YouTube] I'd approach my family and ask them to join me. You can tell he's been in this for a long time. Ha ha ha ha. What would Sohee do? She's confident but doesn't like awkward situations So she'd be like "What?" "Stop looking at me" And then closes the door. [Lovely]
That's cute. I think she'd close the door. What about you? I'd pretend I didn't see them. Oh Because I wouldn't want to stop it Laughs I probably wouldn't wanna stop that feeling Just ignore. Laughs. So you're quite unembarrassed. Okay got it. But because we have to filmed a lot and are running out of time. [Already?]
It's a bummer. It's too short to end it. It was really fun. [Thinks about it] Did you enjoy this interview by MMTG? You researched a lot about our filmography and showed lots of interest [Sincerely]
So we are really thankful And we had so much fun. We're the one who had fun as if we met old friends It's like chatting in a cafe It was really fun. I think she really liked 'Anymotion' ['Anymotion'] [Special Encore] [Worries]
I'm not sure if the teens would get this. I hope we're not the only ones who had fun... [Simple]
That's all that's needed. I will hit Subscribe and Like buttons. [Thanking for the 2nd time] Look here and say On April 28, "Rain and Your Story" On April 28 "Rain and Your Story" [Will be premiering on theaters and see you there] [Spread the new culture! Subscribe & Like @MMTG]
