Watching Germany the Modern Assyrians

[Music] getting into the message today i'd like you to think back to europe in the year 1945. germany the powerful third reich was meant to last for one thousand years late devastated major industries smashed its greatest cities lay in rubble a proud people were humbled and humiliated and one lone voice predicted the rise to superpower status of this seemingly crushed power just a scant nine years after the armistice was signed between the axis and allied powers notice this quotation from mr herbert w armstrong this is the november december 1954 plain truth he was already predicting a united europe would rise out of crisis under the leadership of a strong german leader quote germany inevitably will emerge as the leader of a united europe remember this is 1954 he made this statement it will require some spiritual binding force to inspire this confidence to remove these fears and that spiritual binding force must arise from inside europe all europe is actually ready just waiting for the confidence inspiring leader now it's a byword in the church of god that we are to watch and that's what this message is predicated on is watching there are a number of scriptures and you may just want to jot them down rather than trying to turn to them matthew 24 verse 42 watch therefore for you do not know what hour your lord is coming notice it says hour we may not know the day the month even the year but we can certainly know the seasons as we see it approaching matthew 25 one chapter later and if something is repeated in such close proximity you know it has special meaning matthew 25 verse 13 watch therefore for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the son of man is coming and again luke 21 in verse 36 it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the earth watch therefore pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass and to stand before the son of man just one more in first thessalonians 5 and verse 6 therefore let us not sleep do we not see a world in society around us that seems like it's sleepwalking does not understand its destiny let us not sleep as others do but let us watch and be sober now it begs the question what then are we to watch certainly there are a myriad of world events we're going to focus on one region the heart of europe and the resurgence of germany where are they to be found in the bible this bear is looking into they are hidden and for reasons that we will discover shortly for a title of this message i've called it watching germany the modern assyrians watching germany the modern assyrian spelled a-s-s-y-r-i-a-n-s god certainly commands us to watch but we should especially watch a germany that will rise as a king of the north now we're going to turn next to a very enigmatic and intriguing scripture in revelation chapter 17. revelation 17 and verse 10 certainly i know that this is a very seasoned and well studied group you'll probably know much of what i'm bringing out today much as a reminder in revelation 17 and verse 10 we read there are also seven kings five have fallen one is and the other has not yet come and when he comes he must continue a short time this scripture revelation 17 10 is perhaps the pivotal scripture for understanding where we are in god's plan today again not in terms of months or years but in terms of eras who then are the seven kings they are the eras of the holy roman empire and once i saw an article i wish i could still had access to it that said uh that it's not roman it's not an empire and it's certainly not holy nevertheless that's our rubric is the holy roman empire revelation 13 5 reveals that the first of these five kings that was justinian and his imperial restoration in the year 554 a.d would continue for 42 months now this being in prophetic interpretation a period a total of 1 260 years as many of you know using the day for a year principle in prophecy and if you'd like reference for that you can look to numbers 14 34. as well as ezekiel 46. so this 42 months continuing up to napoleon's loss at the battle of waterloo this period spanned exactly 1 200 years but backing up to revelation 17 10 there's a short phrase of one is and it has tremendous significance just those two words it begs the question why is the scripture structured in just this fashion a past a present and a future time frame at the time that john wrote this on the isle of patmos in the aegean sea in approximately 90 a.d he was already writing of events centuries in advance but the real understanding of the meaning of this scripture was targeted for the end time during world war ii history witnessed just a brief a 12-year axis power hitler and mussolini which was the sixth resurrection of the holy empire holy roman empire which then seemingly disappeared and i emphasized seemingly disappeared from the world scene the understanding of this verse is remarkable for its coinciding with the preaching of one herbert w armstrong and the raising up of the church of god in 1934 as the radio church of god mr herbert armstrong found it was act to the best of my understanding he was at the founding of the united nations in san francisco as a as a reporter correspondent in 1945. nato the north american treaty organ north atlantic rather treaty organization was founded just four years later later but despite its avowed purpose the purpose of nato and it was epitomized in a famous quotation by the first secretary general of nato a man named mr or lord izme he once said that the western defense alliance was created one to keep the americans in to the russians out and the germans down certainly the germans had some of the bloodiest history in the world an estimated 65 million dead in two world wars some really considered one world war that had a gap of 21 years in between yet who are these germans when i took my german class the professor at that time alluded to a book that was called what the world owes germany kind of a proud title now i'm going to credit much of the content of this message to dr herman haye one of the first students to graduate from a master college and he in an article on germany in prophecy said that from german inventions developed one of the most powerful means of mass communication ever produced the printing press gutenberg's cringing press this is an answer to the question what the world owes germany other german inventions contributed greatly to the modern industrial world demler invented the gas driven automobile in 1887 rudolph diesel the diesel engine bayer still around the synthesis of chemical dies fahrenheit gave us the mercury thermometer and werner von braun advances in rocketry which fortunately he brought his acumen and understanding to the united states many of the world's most not renowned musicians have come from germany germany and austria think of bach and beethoven brahms and handle haydn mozart schumann we could go on it would not be complete however without the theoretical physicist albert einstein as well born in ulm germany yet today it seems that the germans are scarcely thought in of in terms of world geopolitics donald rumsfeld the secretary of defense under presidents ford and bush called france and german quote the old world he discounted them what do many people think of the germans today uh one of my favorite commercials offhandedly in tones oh you know the germans they make good stuff which is true there are people who wear lederhosen and they yodel uh they're famed for beer and oktoberfest they make for fine cars which are the heart and the pride of german industry they are also one of the most underrated of superpowers if you take into account all of the european union they have a gross national product gross domestic product of one and a half times the united states as well all of the companies that are tethered to them they have an export market at hand do you know something remarkable about germany they don't have a debt a national debt can you imagine that in comparison with the united states which i believe just tipped the balance of 27 trillion dollars oh i'm sorry 28 trillion after next week when the budget goes out approximately so once again we ask where did this industrious and talented people stem from the romans called them collectively the germani or germany meaning war men from the encyclopedia botanical article on germany but from where did the german manic peoples come from europe was not their original homeland so for this we need to go back to the beginning the first mention of germans in god's word we turn for that to genesis chapter 10. and in genesis 10 verses 21 and 22 we see the origin of nations a few moments if you're turning there genesis 10 verses 21 and 22 now we know that noah had three sons shem ham and japheth and they gave the three major strains of the human race speaking of shem who gave gave rise to the fair hair to the fair complexioned race verse 21 of genesis 10 children were born also to shem notice the children born to shem the father of all the children of eber the brother of japheth the elder japheth the oriental race verse 22 the sons of shem were elam asher are fakshad lud and iran now emphasis on asher we will see that this then is the ancestor of the great majority of germans austrians and a good portion of the swiss population asher the grandson of noah we note that asher is a son of shem who fathered the white or the caucasian racial strain would have been a fair skin and lighter hair this should begin to clear up some of the confusion when we think of syrians versus assyrians two totally different races the syrian people being of a darker complexion entirely separate from the assyrians who are sometimes called the white syrians so all of mankind at one point or another descended from that point in time the cradle of civilization the mesopotamia valley and this is where the civilization began after the flood waters receded in the days of noah all of uh to state the very obvious all of the civilizations the great nations of today are simply families that have grown to grow and large now we back up to verse 11 and we begin to see corrections same chapter chapter 10 and verse 11. out of that land went forth asher and built nineveh yes the famous nineveh of the book of jonah and the city of rabbath and kala now a better translation of this verse reveals that it was both asher and nimrod many of you will know nimrod built the tower of babel who went out to the land of shinar to build nineveh and other cities so there's strong evidence to indicate asher worked together with nimrod whose name actually means rebel probably as in the military field helping to build both babel and nineveh as well as other cities now let's dig into these earliest beginnings of the assyrian people we have only a few bible verses yet we can gain much from them laying a foundation to track the path of the assyrians shem the third stunt of noah and by the way this comes from josephus the historian who wrote the famous antiquity of the jews he recorded concerning asher shem the third son of noah had five sons and take note of that he had five sons asher lived at the city of nieve probably another name for nineveh and named his subjects assyrians now you're going to hear that name over and over again and there's a special reason for that the assyrians are germans the germans are assyrians but they are hidden from the world the world has largely no knowledge of who the german people are so we continue with josephus and he named his subject assyrians who became the most fortunate nation beyond others so we note this assyria quickly became the most prosperous and powerful nation of its day now we see the interplay between israel or abraham in this case and the assyrians so when abraham was growing up assyria was already powerful a powerful nation god brought abraham with his nephew lot into the land of canaan and showered a multitude of wealth and prosperity on their people it was only a matter of time they would be confronted by the mighty assyrians so we pick up the story in genesis 14 genesis 14 verses 1 and 2. it came to pass in the days of amraphel king of shinar aryakh of lsr upon pronouncing these well they get more difficult shadorlam mayor king of elam and title king of nations i will not be repeating those there will not be no test at the end and you'll be happy to know these made war so notice these four kings allied as a giant assyrian empire as josephus pointed out at this time the assyrians had the dominion over asia the people of sodom we all know that name were in a flourishing condition and the assyrians made war upon them dividing their army into four parts fought against them now every part of the army had its own commander i won't name them again but one of them was named tydell and we'll come back to him in just a few moments and these kings laid waste to all assyria i'm sorry syria so notice the assyrians are actually fighting against the syrians so josephus confirmed that these four kings are all assyrian and the last king taito is called the king of nations he ruled in the area of asia minor and this name title comes from a hebrew word that means to fear to make afraid dreadful terrible for centuries assyria has caused many nations great fear now these four assyrian generals came to make war with the kings in canaan the assyrians totally defeated the people of canaan including sodom and gomorrah and in taking captives they captured abraham's wealthy nephew lot this is in verses 11 and 12. and when abram heard that his brother was taken captive he armed his trained servants born his house 318 pursued them to dan he divided himself against them he and his servants by night and smote them and pursued them to hobart which is on the left hand of damascus now josephus recorded that abraham and his man marched hastily in the fifth night fell upon the assyrians near dan and before the assyrians could arm themselves he slew some of them as they lay in their beds before they could suspect any harm and others who were not yet gone to sleep but they were so drunk they could not fight probably with beer that's only my surmise i'm not sure but they were so drunk they could not fight and they ran away on to genesis 14 verse 17 it says that abram also killed the top leaders of the assyrian empire mentioned in verse 1. it was a total route the power of assyria was smashed in one night the course of history was at this point changed abraham and his descendants were able to continue living peacefully in the land of canaan free from their aggression and egypt without the threat of assyria grew into one of the leading nations in the ancient world god wanted egypt to dominate the middle east not syria egypt though the people didn't know it at the time was preparing for the arrival of joseph and the children of israel for the next 1 200 years the bible says little about assyria but the assyrians certainly did not disappear their resurgence around 700 bc once again as a world power proved to be an a thorn in the israelite side virtually every historian draws attention to the warlike nature of this of the assyrian people james mccabe author of history of the world says quote the assyrians were a fierce a treacherous race delighting in the dangers of the chase and in war the assyrian troops were notably among the most formidable of ancient warriors they never kept faith they never kept faith when it was to their interest to break treaties does this sound familiar and were regarded with suspicion by their neighbors and consequence of this characteristic in organization and equipment of their troops and in their system of attack and defense their method of reducing fortified places the assyrians manifested as superiority to the nations by which they were surrounded dr herman haye a very notable historian and author of the compendium of world history wrote ancient assyria was the greatest war-making power in all of history just one more quotation about their nature this is leonard cottrell in a book called the anvil of civilizations wrote in all the animals of human conquest it is difficult to find any people more dedicated to bloodshed and slaughter than the assyrians their ferocity and cruelty have few parallels except in modern times interesting that he made note of that except in modern times and we already heard 65 million killed in the world war at one point i was hoping to look up a a freeze which was a rock carving that i saw of the assyrians taking taking their their captives and how they how they dealt with them they would actually put hooks into their lips and join them together this way in long lines of people this is how they dealt with their captives amazingly cruel people now i spent this time delving into the origins of assyria of the assyrians for several reasons first to establish them as a separate and a formidable warring people in the area of mesopotamia and remember it was the romans who gave them the name by which we know them german meaning war men they themselves and i won't go into the derivation of it call themselves the deutsche second their name has been hidden and as such their identity has been largely hidden from view even though any modern headline across europe speaks of the assyrians the germans on a daily basis names which are commonly recognized in the bible take libya ethiopia egypt they have their roots in biblical antiquity surely so great of people as the assyrians who dominated their region of the middle east would not be left out of the events surrounding the end time but why are they so hidden to history for the answer to this we have to turn to the question of the so-called lost 10 tribes of israel now i still remember vividly getting my copy of the united states and british commonwealth and history growing up on rural land in western canada some 46 years ago and being stunned to find out the identity of the english-speaking peoples through this one book this book that was so censored and almost stamped out by our previous association i suppose they were trying to protect us like modern facebook and twitter wants to protect us but this book the united states and british commonwealth in prophecy chronicles the capture of the northern 10 tribes approximately the year actually happened over several years around 721 bc and it's interesting to note how the assyrians subjugated their enemies first of all they displaced them moving them hundreds of miles away from their homeland next they erased their language not allowing them to continue to use their own language rather educating them in the language of the assyrians in effect what they did was to erase the identity of the peoples they subjugated so those people in many cases did not even know their own identity as the generations went by now we come to the lost ten tribes and where are they today well i'm speaking to a very educated group we know this they migrated through the caucasus mountains alongside the assyrians so just as the lost 10 tribes are not known to by and large to history neither the assyrians known but it's clear from many many historical sources that they came from around the black sea area around odessa where actually some of my own relatives came from in generations gone by and they too moved across uh europe and into the heart of europe where they are today so just one indication that i hope you find somewhat interesting of this migration is contained in a city on the banks of the mosul river in western germany only six miles from the border of luxembourg and it's the ancient german city called treer t-r-i-e-r while the romans claimed that they founded it there are strong indications both from tradition and the name of the city that suggest otherwise the following is written in the opening paragraph of the of the trier color photo guide to the town on daswata's house the red house which i believe is the ruling government or municipal offices beside the staipa there is a text in latin boasting that trier also called trevis is older than rome in fact 1 300 years older than rome and that is when tribeta the son of semiramis is said to have founded the town now the historian joseph beale bihl records in a german textbook uh in deutsche landon trier was founded by trebetta a son of the famous assyrian king according to roman and greek and persian records was the first ruler who began the systematic conquest of the ancient world after the death of nimrod so i remember hearing that at a lecture at ambassador college fascinated by it years ago that the germans were aware they had been in europe for millennia in fact now semaramus was married to nimrod who founded babylon you can find this actually in genesis 10 verses 8 to 10. verse 11 in genesis 10 again which we were at a short time ago says asher and his descendants went out of babylon constructing the assyrian capital nineveh a great city of its day but as the margin correctly indicates it was nimrod who together with asher kind of led him out of babylon and supervised the construction prog project in nineveh so there must have been a close probably a military alliance between nimrod the founder of babel and asher now we're shifting to the modern time and that brings us back again to that scripture revelation 17 verse 10. and i've called this modern assyria the leader to watch for so that phrase the one that has not yet come indicates a revitalized re-militarized europe dominated by modern assyria the germans i know from some experience with german people and german culture the germans hate a vacuum of power they have when there is a lack of leadership and so i thought i'd mention a experience i had at the reichstag which is the actual ruling building in berlin many years ago back in the 1980s they have something like a museum and in the museum they had what i can only describe as some of you may know of the light bright toy where you have this table with lots of lights and you make them different colors so i i was not able to find out the exact number of memories in the rice tag but they had a a wild number of colors but there were only six that were positioned as the national socialists from which we get the name naxi so out of i think roughly in the area of some 300 representatives only six just before i believe was in the early 30s and 33 34 could be mistaken on that but there were only six members of the national socialist party and yet one individual rose to power so i'm not going to make this a lesson of mr hitler but we know who we're talking about so i'd like to look next at a at a scripture that tells us about the future leader in the book of daniel the man who may be on the scene even now in germany as i speak he may well be there he may well be positioning himself for this leadership role daniel 8 starting in verse 23 and this was this was as we'll see shortly clearly clearly a scripture to be understood in the end time daniel 8 verse 23 and in the latter time of their kingdom when the transgressors have reached their fullness a king shall arise having fierce features this is a cruel individual who understands sinister schemes he knows the machinations of politics verse 24 his power shall be mighty but not by his own power he shall destroy fearfully and shall prosper and thigh thrive he shall destroy the mighty and also the holy people verse 25 through his cunning he shall cause to seek to prosper under his rule he shall exalt himself in his heart he shall destroy many in their prosperity he shall even rise against the prince of princes but he shall be broken without human means so his end will be brought about spiritually and supernaturally verse 26 and the vision of the evenings and mornings which was told is true therefore this is critical seal up the vision this was not understood until our egypt practically hours on one previous generation for it refers to many days in the future and the reaction of daniel in verse 27 i daniel fainted and was sick for days afterwards i arose and went about the king's business i was astonished by the vision but no one understood it daniel 8 23 calls this leader a king of fierce countenance understanding dark sentences it intimates that his rule is one that is both cunning and corrupt gascenius the hebrew chaldee lexicon defines dark sentences as twisted involved subtle fraud enigma he is a sly and a suave character who is able to take advantage of chaos and political disorganization to grab power for himself a parallel scripture in daniel 11 21 tells us this that's daniel 11 21 and in his estate shall stand up a vile person to whom they shall not give the honor of the kingdom but he shall come in peaceably and obtain the kingdom by flatteries the jameson faucet brown commentary says the nation shall not by a public act confer the kingdom on him but he will obtain it by artifice by trickery or by flattering now bringing to our present day i'm sure you've heard of angela merkel the uh she's called muti or mother in the land of germany well her star has set she is clearly on the way out and she's made clear she will not run for office again i don't know the exact date when the election will take place but she's been a stabilizing force in germany for many years that stability may well disappear when she is out of power clearly the political landscape in germany is changing and it's quite interesting the brexits finally concluded i'm sure you know just a couple of days ago finally after four years of negotiations a deal was brokered what's the upshot of brexit and by the way mr herbert armstrong in the 1950s stated emphatically britain would not be part of the european common market as was called at that time but the upshot of the leaving of britain is a strengthening of germany now there's another remarkable event taking place almost before our eyes and that's the slipping away of what seemed to be the bedrock alliance between germany and america and one of the key events that playing out is called the gas pipeline called the nordstream 2. just curious how many have heard of the nordstream 2. the nordstrom 2 is a pipeline of approximately 800 miles that was stopped by president trump by putting sanctions on the companies supplying it and that's from russia to germany 800 miles to supply them natural gas along the way russia will have their hand on the spigot and they can turn it off to the ukraine at any time they wish you can imagine the dead of winter the kind of pressure they can put onto the ukraine well germany will be in the same position for europe why didn't germany buy that natural gas from america america was ready willing and able to sell them natural gas but instead what did they do they brokered a deal with russia does that sound similar to what took place just prior to world war ii perhaps you know the molotov ribbon trump pact i'm not going to make too too close to parallel with it but mr donald trump rebuked the german chancellor july 11th of 2018 and this is from an article uh from that time for the for german's decision to buy a massive amount of gas from russia he said i think it's very sad that germany makes a massive oil and gas deal with russia where you where you're supposed to be guarding against russia america has what 35 000 soldiers troops and personnel maybe more uh in germany right now millions upon millions of dollars as an umbrella protecting germany from russia and yet germany makes a deal with russia so he continues you're supposed to be guarding against russia and germany goes out and pays billions and billions of dollars a year to russia this oil and gas deals in the form of a pipeline called the nordstream ii it's a pair of parallel pipes transporting huge quantities of russian natural gas under the baltic sea for almost 800 miles it was set to open in 2019 until mr trump forestalled it with sanctions but they've gotten around those sanctions and so i don't have a completion date for it currently but for years germany has been criticized for this project it pays no attention what does it show us about their concern for nato they may not care about relying on nato anymore there's one other bell weather indicator of germany's direction that took place this past march almost no one heard about it germany reclassified its military status report as secret think about this for a moment to the best of my knowledge since world war ii germany annually published an official report of its military status why the change to no longer publish it openly well we can only speculate however in june the german newspaper developed the world reported the military has been developing hypersonic weapons i'm sure we've heard of that that go mach 5 five times the speed of sound under the principle of quote for german eyes only around the same time it was reported the army would soon include the latest laser weapon technology oh by the way had i mentioned that the the fourth largest weapons exporter in the world is germany fourth largest exporter in the world that's even above france or britain so the germany army has also made advances in cyberspace they've been active in space for a decade why why all this is happening the countries while i'm sorry while all this has been happening the country has also made massive strides to unite european armies under its command several of the of the actual um platoons i think they're called in holland are under german command currently under german command the officers of both countries work in tandem france and germany have signed historic agreements to cooperate on the protection of new tanks fighter jets next generation combat systems and it's quite an irony that one of the effects of mr trump pushing on the nato countries to hit their two percent and almost none of them except for the united states and one or two others i believe poland has hit the two percent for nato's use well one of those is that he's pushing germany to increase its military expenditures that means it will go from 40 billion dollars a year to 70 billion dollars in armaments for germany quite an irony there we're going to turn into several key scriptures to help us understand modern assyria which is germany and i've labeled these three assyria's aggression a syria's role in the hand of god and to syria's end we'll deal with each of these in turn first a serious aggression what will bring about the rise of germany as the leader of an aggressive superpower we're going to turn to daniel 11 a highly significant scripture for this end time daniel 11 and in verse 40. we'll be reading through to verse 45 but the key in verse 40 of daniel 11 at the time of the end we have a time frame the king of the cell shall attack him and many translations say push at him or but at him and the king of the north let's be clear the king of the north in prophecy is catholic europe led by a resurgent germany so this passage tells us that the king of the north will almost certainly be a revival of the roman empire which is the fourth kingdom that is mentioned daniel 2 and 7 and revelation 17 and it will launch an annihilating counter-attack on the king of the south now regardless who the king of the south is we're going to focus for today on this europe led by germany and we continue on in that same verse shall come against him that's the king of the south like a whirlwind the san sino commentary uses the term to swoop down like a raging all-encompassing storm now whoever comprises the king of the south they're going to have kind of a pushy foreign policy and in all likelihood the leadership of iran perhaps growing more and more confident when they see other nations weakness in inaction and they'll suddenly be blindsided by a whirlwind attack that wipes them out using the word whirlwind is a very revealing word in this verse it means sweeping away in a storm according to the gascenius lexicon it can also mean to bristle with terror it can also mean terror stricken or shivering with fear this word has an unusual emphasis on terror perhaps the term blitzkrieg comes to mind the literal interpretation or translation being the lightning war so a rhetorical question can be asked will this terrifying whirlwind be nuclear it's sobering to consider that as we speak there are nuclear warheads in europe and i'm not speaking only of france and britain but also turkey and yes in germany so are the technicians who service and maintain these warheads are they only americans of course of course not if they were to be used would it be only under the auspices of american pilots or are german pilots also trained after all germany is one of the staunchest allies of america isn't it so in light of this message i'll let you decide we continue the scripture with chariots horsemen many ships you'll end he shall enter the countries overwhelm them and pass through so the insurrection of the south lasts for but a moment and then swept away verse 41 and here we get a wide range and it's we're not going to dig into each of the details but just to to finish off this section verse 41 he shall also enter into the glorious land well what would that be of course palestine the holy land and many countries shall be overthrown but these shall escape from his hands edom moab and the prominent people of ammon that being jordan of course amman being the present capital of the country of jordan he shall stretch out his hand against the countries and the land of egypt shall not escape seems that perhaps egypt is allied with the king of the south although not the leadership verse 43 he shall have power over the treasures of gold and silver over all the precious things of egypt also the libyans and ethiopians shall follow at his heels verse 44 but news from the east and the north clearly east and north we're talking russia china perhaps india perhaps even japan shall trouble him and the bible only gives us the briefest glimpse into this end time event but troubling this king of the north this confident boastful people therefore he shall go out with great fury to destroy and annihilate many and we're not going to get into this being a time of trouble that the world has never known but we end with verse 45 and he shall plant the tents of his palace between the seas and the glorious holy mountain yet he shall come to his end and no one will help him and this refers to the third point that we're going to come to shortly note this king seems to have great success in the early stages of the conflict yet finally his rule comes to an end second is assyria's role in god's hand and for this we turn to isaiah 10 because i'm sure you know the nickname for assyria is the rod of my anger isaiah 10 verses 5 and 6 woe to assyria this is god speaking the rod of my anger and the staff in whose hand is my indignation i will send him against an ungodly nation now sadly speaking we have to extrapolate and ask well who is the ungodly nation at this point in time is it not perhaps america as well as canada britain australia those who do not know their creator and against the people of my wrath i will give him charge to seal the spoil to take the prey and to tread them down like the mire in the streets not a very pretty picture we have to be aware that there was a first rule for assyria when they took israel into captivity in the early 700s bc will there be a similar role at the end time and for the third point speaking of assyria's end we turn to the book of isaiah and this end comprises two parts the physical but also a spiritual one so isaiah 14 verses 24 to 26 the lord of hosts has sworn saying surely as i have thought so it shall come to pass as i have purposed so it shall stand i will break the assyrian in my land assyria dares to enter the holy land god will break him and on my mountains tread him underfoot his yoke shall be removed from them that was another one of the stratagems of the assyrians put a yoke on people to lead them around but his mo his yoke will be removed his burden removed from their shoulders this is the purpose that is purposed against the whole earth and this is the hand that has stretched over all the nations now as i mentioned that was the physical end but there's i don't want to leave on a negative note let's say the the spiritual end also in isaiah verse chapter 19. and this is jumping to the time when christ has reestablished his kingdom on earth or finally established his kingdom on earth isaiah 19 verses 23 to 25 in that day there will be a highway from egypt to assyria no highway of that sort now and the assyrian will come into egypt and the egyptian into assyria and the egyptians will serve with the assyrians in that day israel will be one of three with egypt and assyria a blessing in the midst of the land a blessing finally the germans together with the israelites whom the lord of hosh shall bless saying blessed are these each of my people and assyria the work of my hands remember it's the rod in his hands and israel my inheritance yes there will come a time when all nations even the most war-like have learned their lesson war does not pay and then with israel there'll be a blessing in the land now in conclusion i'd like to leave you with a watch list and forgive me if these go by a little rapidly i'll try to just give the name for each of them but there's some points on this list that we should watch regarding modern assyria being germany that may develop slowly before the eyes of those who are watching but others may play out with lightning speed and the first of these number one is watch a change in leadership perhaps it will take place outside of the normal procedural rules much like hitler being placed into power one who comes in peaceably even as hitler was invited into his power in office this is likely to be an articulate debonair charismatic individual who at least initially seems like a wonderful world leader our number two to watch a souring of relations between america and germany you know in a recent poll between who has trusted moore america or russia the germans overwhelmingly said they trust russia more than america sad to know the average the average german citizen is not a fan of america you'd hardly imagine it but this actually is recent polling so second is souring of relations number three the rise of neo-nazism in germany's politics look especially for a group called the afd which is the alternative deutschland virtually overnight this radical right wing party has become the third most powerful party in deutschland in germany and it's happened just within the past decade and the ruling csu christian socialist unit is running scared they've actually lost in certain parts of the country to this afd group so rise in neo-nazism number four this will be a difficult one because it's to watch for increasing military power this is difficult information to find out about because they're not displaying it and this will include the pushing of the boundaries perhaps of its own constitution and just as a side point japan as well at this point in time they are they are bucking their constitution their peace constitution their anyway not to go into that but acting as peacekeepers they are sending troops into areas where they've never been before so watching for increasing military power number five a decided quote push against europe by powers of the middle east and a lightning-like reaction from germany so we may think that iran only hates america not true not true america may be the great satan but they think of the entire western world as being the enemy of islam number six now uh this this this kind of mimics number four i would say but a secretive buildup of military potential for a blitzkrieg attack you know good friends mr uh brett effmoth has said you know germany sends out its finest military hardware and at home it seems like their military hardware is second rate and they do this on purpose so that they can refine and improve and get feedback from those using their military hardware so that when they create their own it's going to be the best as the germans say number seven most ominous of all the possibility the german peacekeepers may be invited into jerusalem the glorious land given germany's history if this were to occur it would be astonishing beyond belief german peacekeepers in jerusalem yet the bible seems to indicate this will take place so with that i think a fitting scripture to end because we've been told to watch and
