Watch this before buying a Swiss Travel Pass| Switzerland on a budget

is buying a Swiss travel pass truly worth the money and does it save you money in this wonderful country Switzerland well we have bought Swiss travel pass twice when we visited Switzerland and we have done months and months of research on all the passes in Switzerland to try and find out which is the most affordable one and which is the one that you make the most out of your money so in this video we're going to talk about both first class and second class passes compare the two and then you can decide which one works best for you we will also share information about all the things you can do with this pass including the boat ride some boat rides that maybe you might not be able to do all the transportation including some of the new Journeys like the golden pass Express other Transportation methods like the trams buses we will go into it all food on trains we're going to share about that and also that there's another country possibly next to Switzerland you might be able to use a Swiss travel passing the museums as well as all the fucus that you can use the Swiss travel pass on which take you up to to high up in the mountains with amazing views so first let's get started with the country this is lonstein it is bordered by Switzerland to the west and south and Austria to the east and north and it is Europe's fourth smallest country now you would not believe it but if I tell you you can actually use your Swiss travel pass to visit this country and not only that you can actually use your Swiss travel pass on buses in the country now this is something we never knew before there's mixed online um online some places say that no you cannot you can only use it up to the border on some places it says you have to pay for the bus ticket but we actually had a Swiss travel pass and we were absolutely fine going to lonstein it has a great town There's the tourist center there for information also where you can get a stamp on your passport um and it's a great way to see it next up is trams now trams is another great way to see actually Switzerland so we really love to use TRS especially in zor and other cities like Mantra it is a great way to actually see um the City without having to go out so especially on a bad day you can do that and it takes you to some tourist destinations right outside like this FIFA Museum now FIFA museum is another thing that is absolutely free with a Swiss travel pass in fact over 500 museums in Switzerland are for free with a Swiss travel pass so really you're spoil for choice but FIFA museum has to be one of our favorite there is truly so much going on here so much to do lots of photo opportunities and really nice architecture we were in love with this Museum another popular one is the chart Dillon which is a famous Museum and you have free entry there now of course there's over 500 so we couldn't take videos and show you all of them but here's just one of our top two picks to show you trains now trains are probably one of the best trains in Europe anyone who's been to Switzerland would most likely agree with that now there are so many beautiful trains and they all come with these amazing big windows with breathtaking views and it is probably one of the most cheapest convenient way to get to places and their train stations look like airports and there is no kidding about that so highly highly recommend trains now every single train in the country taking you A2B is free with a Swiss travel pass so all you have to do is have your Swiss travel pass with you someone will come you can have it online too and check and you have views like this so sometimes you don't even have to go out and you can see them stunning views of the waterfall now one of my favorite parts of Swiss trains is the double decker trains I've never seen double decker trains I think I did once in Austria but other than that I've never really seen it and I love that top player where you can go you can sit down and it's always pretty much empty I don't think we have never been on a train where we've not found a seat or multiple seats um choices so we had a first class with travel pass this time and last time when we went to Switzerland we had a second class so it's travel pass but with the first class you can see there's more space less people you cannot take your own food there so you don't have to go to the restaurant yes there is a restaurant you can sleep you can do your work and you can also go on the trains that take you all the way down to matah Horn again with great views um like here you can see some waterfalls mountains it has to be one of our favorite Journeys again now not just that but the um Bell par uh train ride which is very famous you might have seen it on Instagram or you might have seen it on other social medias is included in your Swiss travel pass as well so if you have a first class Swiss travel pass you can absolutely go and you don't have to reserve a seat but if you have a second class one you might have to pay a little bit of extra money because this Carriage with the turquoise um seats um is actually first class so if you want to have that experience you're going to have to pay a bit extra but with the first class you don't the seats are really really nice they truly take you back in time it feels like you're in a Bridgeton series if any of you have watched that um and it's really nice for kind of photo opportunities um and it has really big glass windows again every single train I'm repeating myself here but food is not included so we actually bought this food with us so again you can take food into all the trains so don't feel embarrassed you can do it everybody does it and this is another Journey that has included the very new golden pass Express which takes you all the way from Mantra to Interlocken but this is a brand new train journey the golden pass and it truly is unique because not only does it have first class which is here in this video you can see but it also has second class and a Prestige class which you saw a little bit in the earlier clip and you'll see a bit later on as well all have these double windows lots of loggy space so this is the prestige class you can see the difference with the leather seats there's massage um there's lots of other bits that you can do um with with them little gadgets you have on your seats so views are breathtaking on this journey regardless of which class you sit in you might want to pay 35 Franks extra if you have a first class but it's worth it buses now do not think that you won't be using the buses when you're in Switzerland again a great thing is that all buses are free for to travel pass and some even take you to famous places like the broken chair you saw there and they're very comfortable and again do not mistake them for not having good Wheels this is is the view from one of our bus Journeys so you might need to take bus Journeys to places like Stu which is this uh Village a beautiful beautiful Village which is often not visited by tourists and this is also where you can use the steepest finicle in the world for free with a Swiss travel pass all you have to do is show it at the counter and they give you the tickets and you can go all the way up in this amazing funky looking uh fuc all the way to the top um which is Stu and some people like to go beyond that as well so there is a famous hike you can do at the top but I'll talk about that later Stu itself is very beautiful with lots of cows so you won't be disappointed now moving on to fairies again unlimited travel on fairies as well one two of our favorites actually has to be montra and Lucen but there's many other nice fairies we never got time to do brins but that's also a really famous one but it's unlimited fairies unlimited Boats Unlimited train rides in Switzerland with a Swiss travel pass so you are spoiled for choice and I would say take advantage of each one to get a different feel of the country so don't just kind of stick with train or stick with you know boats or um buses try different ones this is our train um this is our sorry uh Ferry Journey just from montra um to the next um village which was only about a 15-minute ride but you can already see it looks absolutely breathtaking and a view you wouldn't really get when you're in the city itself and you're walking so again first class passengers can go to the top so if you are thinking should I get a first or second class this might be something you want to think about so when you're on the top obviously you get a bit of different views this is Lucen faery Journey that we did from Lucen train station to mount riy um and uh yes so not much difference with first or second class really being that you can go to the top and that's also where there's a restaurant um and you can sit down and eat some food when you're having um a look at the amazing views there's lots of food options and drink options to choose from we got a hot chocolate because it was a little bit cold um on the day we visited um Switzerland so we went for the traditional hot chocolate and enjoyed these stunning views um of Lucen um and we were absolutely like this was breathtaking we did this ride last time we came a few years ago but this time it was just different so here is Mount riggy now you can actually visit three Mountain excursions for absolutely free with the Swiss travel pass this one being the mount riy you can either use the train up or you can use the um fuc up as well so Mount RI Stan hone and Stu are the three mountains which are free and every single other Mountain Excursion has 50% off with a Swiss travel pass so sometimes people think shall I get the 50% one half fair or shall I get Swiss travel pass well even if you get the swis travel pass you can get 50 you will get 50% off on all the mountain excursions and um unlimited travel by train bus and boat so if you're someone like us who likes to be out and about and visiting you know different places every day you might want to invest into a swis travel pass um otherwise maybe a half Fair card is for you so this is a view coming down from riy it was a cloudy day but we enjoyed the dramatic uh views now Rin Falls now let's talk about places you can't use your s Travel pass so might not work so getting the train up to rinf Falls is free so you can get get this view but you have to pay for the ticket for the viewing Point young fra is another one you do have to pay money to go to Young fra you can get two young FR train station but not on the top grinder World your train uh tickets your Swiss travel pass does work um again taking you to grindle World um a train station or Ginder World Village but to get to the top of Ginder world you are going to have to pay for the grindle World tickets so these are just a couple of places I could think about where your Swiss travel pass will work to the train stations or the village but not to to the top and also the hike that I talked about which takes you from uh Stu Village all the way up to um frl do I don't know forgive me for my pronunciation you do have to pay a bit more for that finle which takes you up to do this amazing hike that we did with very dramatic views again so first or second class really well really the option is up to you we had a second class last time first class this time we really benefited from first class because we got to actually use the Bella Park the uh golden pass Express terrain we spent like two days doing that and it was great to have first class carriages there it was it's great to have first class on the boat at the higher end on the top end and use the restaurants but really there's not much difference there's lots of space in
