[Music] we're going to visit lelouv today and the last time i was here i had to be like 40 years ago at a school field trip as you know as a kid so we're gonna we're coming back to visit lelouv but what we got in our research is that they are 35 000 pieces of art and if you spend 30 seconds per each piece of art it would take you 38 days straight for eight hours a day to see it all how many pieces are we gonna see today i said 22. we'll see what we can capture all right so we're gonna we're gonna go and see 22 pieces of art you don't like the pieces of art that you would probably want to see in the louvre and we're going to see how long it takes us so awesome [Music] so we're here inside the pyramid of the louvre which is the main entrance there's three buildings that we need to know about here there's the richelieu which has a lot of old french art sculptures a lot of things like that and everything we're going to see today is going to be in the sully and denon pavilions because those are the hot shots to see so let's go [Music] this is the place in the bottom of the pyramid where you can actually get a map you can get an audio guide right here they have it in french english spanish italian dutch and korean and japanese [Music] wow [Music] happy [Music] [Music] [Music] so i gotta say something we've done the research we looked at the map we made a plan and two things is true we're lost and we're completely overwhelmed so i'm just going to say like if you come to the louvre do your homework uh study know exactly where you're going because well i mean we we thought we were prepared and we're completely lost oh that would be enough yeah let's go see this one the this one then the wing it is that the winged thing here what are you looking for [Music] there she is it was right there the whole time we're right in front of the painting that inspired well actually the legend says that it inspired victor hugo from writing les miserables which is the liberty guiding the people libertegi donna it's a beautiful painting and that was one of the one of the pieces of art that we wanted to see [Music] we are in the denon building in the denon wing yeah and this is where most of the items on our must-see list are the masterpieces yeah here in this hall there's some doozies and just over around the corner is mona lisa this is one of the hall that i remember coming as a kid this was a part of the field trip you had to go see those paintings you have napoleon la meduz yeah it's a good hall i would add it to your list [Music] yeah so there's a there's an anecdote about this painting this is the coronation of napoleon this is josephine that's right in front of of him and napoleon's mother did not approve of josephine so she didn't come but hey that would didn't stop napoleon from telling the painter to paint his mom in the painting which actually wasn't there and that's not the napoleon's mom that actually is the painter's mom he painted his own mom in the middle of the thing but that's the anecdote or that painting i think it's pretty funny [Music] [Music] we're here with venus de milo and she's one of the ones that was on our list of things to see and she's gorgeous she's absolutely gorgeous she did not disappoint yeah it took us a while to find her but we actually did so there we are venus is the miner sure [Music] so before the louvre was the louvre it was a fortress and what we're seeing behind are the original wall of the fortress and it's really an amazing thing to come and check out there's actually a map that shows you how they used to look like before they built basically lulu on top of it [Music] something that's important to remember when you're at the louvre is that it started out as a palace and you can see the royalty especially in the ceilings but in the detail of the architecture and of course they have the royal jewels here too [Music] keep going huh and that is what everybody's here to see [Music] and it's like that every day and see you have three people on either side and they are there to make sure that people are not spending too much time and keeping their mask on so down this hall we saw winged liberty mona lisa right behind you and if we go this way we're probably going to find psyche revealed by cupid's kiss which might become your favorite let's go this way by the way people get yelled at when they take off their mass so inside the louvre don't take off your mask they have zero tolerance for it [Music] [Music] so look at the delicacy of the of the carving like the the tissue-ness of the fabric below her and crossing her belly and then you can see just the hardness of the stone the softness of their their faces like the skin looks soft and then you have the the detail and the delicacy and the feathers on cupid and then again in the feathers on the back of the arrows in cupid's pouch it's just it's so tender it's my new favorite for sure i love this one definitely on your to-do list when you come to the louvre [Music] my [Music] new [Music] [Music] [Music] so we just left the louvre and we're starving all that art made us crazy hungry yeah and vincent antoine's brother is gonna show us a great spot totally parisian only locals go there it's not touristic at all and so we're gonna go and have some amazing food what i understand is they have amazing sosi song and the meats that go on the charcuterie board i've also heard something about a pistachio creme brulee that has really piqued my interest [Music] um [Music] there's caramelized onion and there's cheese and bacon and it's so good [Music] what vincent is eating is a puff of meringue in a vanilla cream sauce and it's called ill-floton because the meringue is floating like an island now we just uh we just left latin dom and we heard on instagram that they had wrapped up the yoga triumph so we had to go and check it out for ourselves so there you have it there's tons of people here uh it's a you know it's a piece of art i don't know how you call that it's an installation art but if you remember years ago they wrapped the islands in miami beach pink it was cristo but it's wrapped just like that i don't know like it has termites or something yeah it might probably uh they had to tent it because of termite that's how it feels for me it's a little bit above my paygrave in terms of art i i'd rather see what's in the louvre but i i get that that's also interesting and it's exciting to be here with all of these people so excited about it it is it is so thank you so much for being with us i checked other videos on desserts the best food in paris and also how to use the metro so you don't get lost we can find our way home that's right please make sure to
