Walking Los Angeles : LIVELY Saturday Night in West Hollywood

welcome to west hollywood in los angeles county california it's saturday nights july 24th 2021 it's 9 39 in the evening 66 fahrenheit 19 celsius today i'm going to walk along santa monica boulevard in the west hollywood neighborhood we ho for short but this area is well known for its nightlife gay bars restaurants dance clubs and shops and what better they visit the area than on a sunday night you can see they really decorated the street in different colors here i think we're gonna have fun let's explore what's going on over here looks hopping in here inside trunks got bouncers at the front [Music] tons of dance clubs around here what's over here revolver look at this so many seems to be a gay bar a lot of stuff happening in there [Music] [Applause] definitely one of the more lively places in l.a and what do we got on this side this is mix mickey's part west hollywood route 66. this was the original route 66 it sure is lively around here and z pizza for those who want a more conventional option for a dining out i'll walk both sides of the santa monica boulevard area so we'll eventually get to that corner in a minute but it looks very lively there this is san vincenti boulevard we're crossing now the crosswalks even painted in the colors of the lgbt community very nice pride colors so i'm not sure what time all these places close but doesn't seem to be anytime soon the party keeps continuing well into the night [Music] let's see what's coming up next here this place is crowded over here to my right high tops whole pictures and hot patches very lively hey we saw those tacos [Music] uh this looks like to be an art store but they also have food [Music] now over here is where the lanterns end they don't continue on to the next block so let's cross over to the other side of the street before i continue on santa monica boulevard going east though i want to show you a famous spot where many celebrities visit it's right down here this over here i think is a club everyone's lining up to get into but where i'm walking to now is a place called craig's you'll frequently find the paparazzi outside waiting for celebrities to pop out the chapel at the abbey see there's tight security here people are checking things on the way out the barber truck do they do hair styling in there seems so this parking lot looks absolutely full so full that these people can't even access the atm machine without reasonable space they gotta squeeze in just to get money out of the bank and it's twenty dollars flat rate so you park there well let's walk by craigs and see what's up over there pretty incredible that we're still hearing the sounds from the bar just down the street here definitely not a place that you want to live next to that's if you're expecting peace and quiet many people they want that energy but not for me this building is the hollywood foreign press association so we're about to leave the pedestrian zone and craig's la is in about two blocks on melrose avenue here's a place called soulmate looks pretty happening oh we got some copyrighted music playing one more time hopefully i don't get in trouble with youtube but we'll stay on this side of the street [Music] [Applause] this is the sure restaurant [Music] i think let's cross the street now and we'll head over to [Applause] craig's craigslist down this way no wait the other way you can tell this is my first time through the area it's definitely very busy around here craigs is in the middle of this block i'll go right up to it and then turn around and also show you the other side of santa monica boulevard are you doing might see the paparazzi over here someone's got a fancy car there so here's craig's that must be a celebrity someone's getting their picture taken but let's cross the street now and we'll head back to santa monica boulevard going eastbound it's a good thing this light is a fairly short here's the sure restaurant again so this is called west hollywood out on robinson they closed this entire street now just for pedestrian traffic sounds lively in the soulmate restaurant [Music] [Music] oh [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] all right finally we've made it back to santa monica boulevard walking east now is pump restaurant and garden that looks neat over there this [Music] los angeles can get pretty lively at nighttime and wild up [Music] someone's trying to sell roses here [Music] a lot going on here [Music] [Music] i [Music] still a lot more shops to go [Music] there's a sushi and yakitori bar oh god i love it [Music] of west [Music] wait hollywood minute [Music] [Music] oh [Music] oh there's just so much going on here even on the street so well folks that's pretty much the extent of west hollywood santa monica boulevard at least the
