Walkin the Dog at Hartsholme Park in Lincoln

so we're out for another dog walk got little sparkles here and Route it out same park popular big Park in Lincoln so I thought I'd come and have a little walk around with the old uh the old sparkles you're Keen to get going aren't you boy um King so yeah we're gonna have a little stroll around here and see what we can see school's about to kick out so it'd probably be allowed to use dotted around um you just have to deal with them so let's go dog walking yeah that's kind of nice kids play Parts here big play park over there lots of people hung about on the grass picnics during the summer you start in about everywhere now a little bugger he's after something you have to Summit boy hey let's have a look through here and we'll come out into the lake what's up there boy what's his oh I say he's wait wait wait wait wait wait beautiful look at some walks in this week yeah when I was a kid he's about to walk under this the Overflow it runs under the road what they've done to it now you can't get anywhere near it now these railings are up along the wall and then you go because we're used to swim in here jump off them let's put it in these metal things now look yeah but yeah under there he has to go under the road used to go all the way onto that road no the other side boy it's definitely not what it was though these used to be a lot a lot better clearly they're another 40 years old from when I was walking around here as a kid yeah crazy anyway used to fishing this spot along this wall with my granddad he used to bring us fishing as a kid and we used to come around on a bikes he made us some little boxes the tackle in this is one of the favorite spots just here and that was the view of the day as a kid very beautiful not so much on a cold day when it's pissing down the rain though used to seem so much further around here as well when you're when you're really small they've only got little kids and you step out your street and you was on an adventure and there's loads of little Roots through little paths might throw here loads a little I'm obviously a bit bigger getting through the bloody things now as well there you go allowed to pass through and I'm not going under that and he don't look like he's going over it yeah go over that over over the top 100 through there then I'm gonna have to go under this one [Music] oh my God pull down string these bad boys I think I'm not sure but I think they've been here a while don't you think give me advice let's go around here on the right old Rampage hi boy you have a little poke around in there then there's all sorts of animals in here so he's picking up the scent that's right this way don't argue with me boy wind you in come on ah getting a good way around there place now and the old childhood memories come flooding back yeah reminiscing of the old days there's some memories you sometimes you're just like what did I do last week what day was that and you can't remember something but then you remember it vividly something that you did 30 years ago or something it's quite strange how certain memories are quite prominent in your mind childhood memories are the best we used to talk about swimming out to the island out where and uh yeah a few people actually did it I don't know what's on the island the dogs fell off the you are such an idiot do you know that come here so yeah yeah a few people actually did go to the island it's one thing that I'll still don't know for this day never step foot on it but uh I don't know maybe before I die I'll uh I'll get a dinghy and go out and see it but some of these trees that lifts on down because there was old still trees that I remember from from back in the day I guess I guess everything comes to an end eventually don't go in that water don't go in that water you're going that way come on let's I'll follow you gotta say a lot of this is uh a lot clearer than it used to be when I was a kid you couldn't see past the side of the path really and they've cleared a lot of it out I don't know if you can make it out but boat house is just over here oh boy see around here somewhere and the rumor was that The Boathouse was haunted because when your kids everything's haunted so the other thing we've got is he's passed through now proper big pass-through to get off we never had that before these tracks ran down to the Black Bridge from the White Bridge this is the White Bridge that no one went down to the Black Bridge because it was literally just a wooden kind of dilapidated bridge and it was all manky down there so no one ever really went down there quite some nice scenery there beautiful the Brooks look you can't get in Sparks can you so here's the boat house the haunted boat house and it's always been locked up so you can see why you might think it was haunted it's always had cobwebs on the doors it looks proper gloomy in there doesn't it the outside Gates never used to be there when I was a kid yeah there's a lot more stuff in there now carry on around here to the docks there's an area where people always go to feed the Ducks and I think if someone mentioned that they've put railings up so you can't get out onto the water now but you know don't look like it let's have a look no sparks is about ready to attack me boy don't you dare don't you dare anyway yeah people come here look and the Ducks just flock in because they think people are going to feed them there's some on the floor there a lot better watch the old dog but yeah there you go hey friends star Sparks my friends yeah it's creeping won't you come on oh there's the back up there's the backup he can struggle with that Sparks hey yeah you don't want to know do you like to go any other way chicken there's a cafe up here if it's open well I'm not entirely sure I'm gonna go on getting a drink with this little bugger tugging away we'll go up these steps not that way just got on the path but let's go and have a look up here so it is The Office Buildings in the visitor center this uh sure the visitor center is saying as when I was a kid but I used to be able to go in it and do stuff in that there's a campsite over there a lot it's run by the council you can book that through the council website so back to the car to the car bombarded by a woman who knew me from school funnily enough from me and my brother that's half an hour lost just like that catching up so yeah anyway I'm gonna get back in the car and uh and head home so that's it for this one out same part blast from the past um it's probably the biggest park in Lincoln heart same park um I'm not aware of any bigger we've got the Arboretum there's Boot and Park and uh I might I might have a wander around them but there's like say they're not very big but yeah just uh about doing both in the same day or something and see how it goes but yeah I think what we'll do now is uh head down it's ten past four and I might uh drop the dog and nip to Tesco see if we can get a bit of a bit somewhere to to eat for tea he had a lot of walks don't come over here you've done all right aren't you this week yay aren't you hey a little face that little face there you go
