Walker Scobell Constantly Tried to Scare His 'The Adam Project' Co-Star Ryan Reynolds

how many people have seen the adam project so far isn't it fantastic it's it's such a great movie i i saw it uh ahead of time and i called ted at netflix and i said oh my god this is incredible and who's this kid and he said it's his first acting job ever you had never acted in anything ever before except for a school play right yeah i think it was um mary poppins at my uh i was michael i think and i was 10. yeah okay so that's all you'd ever done and 400 kids auditioned for this role to play a young ryan gosling and you got it that's a huge i mean yes sorry i'm i'm here i'm here um so you get this so you're playing ryan reynolds younger self you should explain for those of you who have not seen it tell everybody what the movie is uh the movie's about a 13 year old kid who meets his future self to what is it hmm i think you want me to tell me yeah i i i'm really nervous right okay oh that's all right so am i i'm nervous too because i said ryan gosling so um so ryan reynolds there's there's like like time travel it's in the future he ends up in the wrong place uh he goes back at the at the wrong time meets his younger self which is you and uh goes on a journey to try to get to the right place where they're supposed to be so you uh did you know who ryan reynolds was um yeah i've watched um i've probably watched deadpool 2 more hours than i've been outside and uh yeah ryan gosling's just the best i love him so much i love ryan gosling too thank you for that this it it might look it this might lead to you playing a younger ryan gosling you don't know this might be a whole different movie for you to to appear in um now how he's so charming and he's so funny and did you feel like you had to like learn certain aspects of his personality or did you spend a lot of time with him um well i think i i the first time i met him was on a zoom call when i was auditioning and i it's really embarrassing the whole time he'll ask like what are your favorite hobbies to do and i just yeah of course anytime yeah but i got to know him a little bit more while while we were filming i'd always hide behind all like the set pieces and and jump out and and try to scare him but after like a month that he just walked through and like high walker there's nothing worse than trying to scare somebody and you you can't scare them and they're just blase about it but i love that you tried to it's your first movie and you're actually trying to scare him on the movie set that takes confidence i think that's great so you lost some teeth while you were on the movie you were at craft service and which teeth did you lose i lost the last four of my baby teeth during filming it was like four months and uh it was the first day of shooting and that's the day i discovered what crafty was and i went to it and there's jelly beans that day and i got a jelly a bunch of them and the first one i bit into my tooth fell out and sean the director was freaking out he was already ordering a pair of dentures for me and yeah i think and ryan sent me uh like donuts for my birthday and um he wrote a note on the top of it and it said don't lose any more teeth and i lost like my last three more after that like but in the back of your mouth in the back my mouth yeah yeah oh man that's because that could cause you to have like a speech impediment or something if you're missing some teeth back there but it didn't affect your yeah that would be horrible yeah what did your friends think were they impressed that you were in this movie with ryan gosling well they thought they thought that like you know when you hear like a younger version of someone you think like a flashback or a second they didn't know i was in like the movie for like a little bit more than a flashback yeah and so when they watched it they're all like freaking out and and texting me the whole time so that was it was pretty funny yeah it's it's huge i mean it's you're in the movie the whole time it's a big deal and it's you and ryan and i love him so much he's like he's hilarious he's so quick and and super smart and super sweet so couldn't be better to be in a movie with him for your first movie and now you have another movie that you're working on did you already finish it it's called secret headquarters it comes out august i think and owen wilson is my dad in that and michael pena is in it and jesse williams very cool wow you've got a huge career ahead of you you're you're fantastic thank you so much for being here thank you all right the adam project you should see we're streaming on netflix now we'll be back [Music] you
