I moved a year ago to Manila due to my career. I've been looking for corn grits here. Way healthier and cheaper too. In the Visayas, it is a popular staple. I've been doing our family's pamamalengke since High School years so I'm familiar with market prices.
IMO, its about time Filipinos shift to a better staple food in terms of price and nutrients.
