I wonder how long it will be until certain touch screen functions are outlawed. It just doesn't make sense that it's illegal to use your phone while driving, but if a giant phone is stuck to your car's interior then it's OK. It's equally if not more distracting because you're forced to use it for basic functions, therefore you are forced to look away from the road.
Yeah I’ll wait for the 8.5.
I miss cars with simple dash and real tachometers
This like a digital vs analog discussion. Harry bought a GR Yaris as his family run around car. I guess he made that much of an impression on him.
What a frustrating car...The pinnacle of shitty ergonomics for the sake of "muh tech".
For me, it's the Yaris.
I truly despise what they've done to the interior this generation. The mechanical improvements that are a legit step up for the MK7 make interior let down burn all the more. I loved my 3 years with my MK7 and I'm kind of getting the vibe now I could have held on to it for at least another year without any hit on depreciation. Dang!
I knew the infotainment would piss me off, but I can't believe they ruined the manual mode for the DSG. Apparently it now auto shifts up,
does not hold revs like the previous gen DSG did.Seem I was wrong there, but the point remains. The Veloster N DCT holds it's gears. The new Golf generation just feels so phoned in.Im a bit of a VW fanboy admittedly, but everything about the Mk8 has been underwhelming, at no point in its announcement and release have I been at all excited about it. Feels like it could be the most forgettable Golf generation, maybe of all time.
