Voice Teacher Analyzes HALLE BAILEY x PART OF YOUR WORLD from THE LITTLE MERMAID (Visualizer Video)

foreign how is everybody doing out there I hope you all are well so I am Jaren I am a voice teacher speech trainer and the founder and owner of this amazing studio the Jaren M Le gray Studio this was not on my radar at all I didn't know she dropped this until I was on Instagram live and somebody commented and said hey are you doing the heli video the part of the Road video and I was like it's out and I was like I'm waiting to the movie came out like next month and they were like no they just dropped a couple hours ago and I'm like oh someone is the whole song is out I was gonna wait until May to do you know several songs from the soundtrack but when I saw that this was out I was like maybe I should go ahead and do this one so y'all let's get into this I'm excited to hear this and I have not heard the song in its entirety so I'm going to react to it as well as analyze it all at the same time so we're gonna see how this goes with this song but I know she's gonna do it justice so let's just dive into this here is the voice analysis of Halle Bailey singing Part of Your World from the live action version of Disney's Little Mermaid thank you foreign [Music] look at this stuff isn't it neat wouldn't you think my collection's complete wouldn't you think I'm the girl the girl who has everything girl who has everything that was nice it's like a Gong all of this light bright articulation girl who has everything in these little glottal on sets where the vocaphores are coming together nice and smooth but still strong girl who has everything oh this is so good I'm so happy for her look at this troll look at this Trove Treasures Untold The Vow was nice and rounded look at this trolls Treasures Untold and if vibrato kind of just flowed right into those open Trove Untold those two vowels right there I love how she plays the vibrato it was almost like a mess of devoche or like a crescendo in the vibrato too if that makes sense look at this troll trousers and salt you see how I'm doing that is how many wonders can one Cavern hold looking around here you think sure he's got everything she's got everything I like how she paced that instead of she's gone everything almost like a speech like a repetitive moment or pacing there I love that moment right there all these little details are just so good these little tiny things that I'm picking out it just makes the whole package sound so amazing with these little intentional moves and details in her execution even how she's pronouncing these words everything is bright and lifted I bet you that palette is lifted everything's kind of brightened forward and lifted and ah I kind of like that it's almost like the sound is moving forward and moving out so quickly and it's so good I've got gadgets and kiss most of Plenty I've got who's it's in what's it's Galore you want thingamabobs I got 20. but who cares no big deal but I don't care no big deal this for brother oh come on girl I love hearing this side of her not that every daughter that she had this side it's just cool to hear her do these manipulations and these different things which is very different than you know pop or r b and things like that she's really being intentional with every single move that she's making here the place enough vibrato the place of the consonants the friction of the consonants the duration of pitch the pacing of words all these things on purpose [Music] I want my something like that where she kind of opened up to more of a thicker belt here moment and then kind of use the r to migrate to more of a ooh it kind of put the r if you will so the art was not omitted necessarily it was just manipulated and modified musically if that makes sense something like that where she really manipulated the color of the r to make it work musically with what she wanted to do in the vocal line because ours can sometimes be weird to sing you know depending on how you want to do it but she made it in such a way where it's so musical but the place of the art was still acknowledged but just manipulated or modified intentionally I want to be where the people are I want to see wanna see them dancing I want to be everything's kind of different now it's kind of lighter and brighter more Smiley I want to be or the people lie not people are people lie that larynx put up a little bit people lie maybe narrow just a little bit to the voltage I got narrowed just a little bit people lie more breathy more Smiley that lifting the sound that lifting The Voice she has it right there what [Music] [Music] your legs are required for jumping it's almost at Whimsical child like play in her vocal delivery even though she was singing the pictures you heard like a little Shaker little laugh legs are required for jumping it was very small but it was there what's that word again [Music] wish I could be part of that world of way they walk up where they run up where they stay all day in the sun she had a vibrato going up where they walk of where they run you see that vibrato is kind of being painted on every long line in that phrase right there up where they walk up where they run up where they stay all day in the sun wandering free and on that free it was that Whimsical playfulness wandering free that like all the yearning oh wandering free kind of like that when you do characters like this you really have to bring out the life of the character within your singing you know it's not just about singing a song and singing the pictures you yeah that's great and Danny too but how can I make the character come to life how can I raise the character be believable exhibit a right here she's doing these different vocal grammatical things makes us believe that the characters really singing a song and not just somebody covering the song if you will you know what I'm saying what I give him if I could live out of these Waters what would I pay to spend a day [Music] bet your own land they understood what would I give if I could live out on these Waters Way thicker what would I pay to spend the day warm on the sandwich thicker chesty you're about to your moment picture on land they'd understand then she got lighter and more thinner in the vocal folds kind of got thinner and lighter a little more breathier so she kind of brought it back a little bit volume wiser intensity Wise from the past two lines that third line that you're on land she brought it back they'd understand bet they don't reprimand their daughters okay that's kind of happened right there she kind of got big of the first two lines in this bridge and in the third little line right there she brought it back a little bit Dynamics Dynamics I'm ready to know what the people know [Music] I'm a sing girl I love hearing her interpretation and how she makes it her own but still keeping the essence of the song The Integrity of the composers the Integrity of the song intact yeah that was good she had like that nice belt here moment and it went up to that five right there you know so she kind of went up a little bit and took a little liberty right there with that belty thick faux chesty Mama right there and The Vow was dead it wasn't standing you see how I kind of got brighter and I lifted a little bit that's kind of what she did right there [Music] I love hearing these straight notes now this is more so now getting a little bit more poppy a little bit a little bit more of that maybe a little bit more you know r b ish if you will but I like it these straight notes I like the texture difference in this second part of the song versus the first part the first one was great too but she's now taking a lot more Liberties and again I like that textural difference it gives a little more beef a little bit more of a climactic moment to the song I love love to explore when's it my turn wouldn't I love thick Jesse love to explore the shower she kind of got thinner on love to explore that sharp above got a little bit more thin a little bit more lighter and they did that minor ascending arpeggio right there that was a nice walk-up though you can hear the vowels when is it my time everything's open it kind of you know wider if you will wouldn't I love I love a set of Love Is Love love to explore that show up up but then explore the sharp above kind of got longer love to explore this you see how it kind of got longer and a little bit more dropped jaw if you were right there but before that I was kind of when's it my turn so changing the vowel shape can really help the sound change its texture or color or sound if you will can help the voice change the sound that's a better way to put it but yeah changing how you articulate things among other things of course will directly change the sound of your voice of course additionally I think on Wednesday my turn when I love she brought a little bit of some beefiness through like a cricoid tilting it's a little cricoid twisting right there kind of make it more beefier like a shout if you will but it wasn't shouting it just kind of had that quality of a shout or a yell some people call it a belt whatever you want to call it she had that quality right there but then brought it back in love to explore that short but above like that out of the sea [Music] wish I could be [Music] that run right there I love that touch that Hallie touch I love that touch I just loved that moment it made it her it made it who she was who she is you know she was attracted like nobody else I'm seeing the songs the way I'm gonna sing this song and I appreciate that there's so many different ways to sing this song and I appreciate her way just as much I appreciate Jody Vincent's way I love Jody Benson she was original voice of Ariel in Little Mermaid I love her equally as much as I love hate like you know like V I appreciate the art that everybody brings to this song I appreciate the diversity that each voice can bring to this song it doesn't have to be a certain way it doesn't have to be whatever you can have your preference of what you like I don't like that's whatever but the bottom line is artist art and I appreciate all the different tapes and the different interpretations and the different outlooks on this song and I like this interpretation of this wish I could be she ain't doing it but you know I like the little run that she did right there I like that interpretation that
