hey guys how you doing I am Tara with Tara Simon studios and today I have the pleasure of listening to a cover which is mary did you know featuring octave oh yeah and this is featuring mark Lowry within of octave octaves doing a few more chlorine I'm very excited to listen to them I love octave thank you so much for suggesting this and I don't know if this is live or not so we're just going to dive in I'm gonna react to exactly what I see based on my professional opinion as a vocal coach here we go Sablin arms would expect as far [Music] mary did you know your cold water mary did you know your baby will save our sons and daughters did you know [Music] soon I love that he I love his presence I don't know about you but just listening to him and watching me he has this sort of all-knowing wise understated quality about him that makes the song meet something different I mean I've sung the song a million times myself I love this song but somehow listening to him sing it right now it makes me feel something different and I really like him a lot the way he also sang that that your baby boy that joy baby the way he changed the a vowel and moved up usually if done in an exaggerated form is really going to a diphthong but he didn't quite go there he didn't make that much out of it what he did was he manipulated that vowel to create a stylistic change within the sound that was really nice to listen to I'm not gonna go all the way back and listen to my I really enjoyed and that's when I started to close my eyes and really loved what I was hearing octave and in the background of course is amazing they're they're bowel production is unbelievable their Hoos are beautiful they're pure their pristine their pitch is amazing and just so you know if you're wondering oh my gosh how do they hold notes that one it's staggered breathing that's a that's an old choir trick and it's something that is done when you have two or more people on one part because you breathe you take as much breakfast you can you hold as long as you come but you breathe needed and you don't all do it at once and so it sounds as if everybody's holding the long note the whole way through but really they're not there you'd a crescendo out when you're ready to take a breath you take a breath and then you crescendo back in and integrate your sound back into the group and that's how staggered breathing happens and they're doing a great job of that is beautiful [Music] man did you know like my quality with his hand [Music] god [Music] yeah that is perfect placement on that top note I love her so much she's the one that I talk about a lot when I review baktun a while that high note I wish I now I know who it is but before my first couple reviews of octave like I wish they went to her for the Heron I don't know who it is I know who it is now and she is so great and her technique is lovely when she goes the top note you see she's using all of her space what's the rule by now you should know it if you're my subscribers any extremely high or low needs more two S's space and support right she's giving both especially and I came and of course she's covered up by some people in front of her so I can't vouch for the support just visually but I can sonically and visually I can vouch for the space she's doing a beautiful job there I love the growth as a whole unit as they're building up to the the climax of the song and I liked how visually they highlighted the person who was singing the solo each time they cut away to that even though there were people underneath undergirding the sound I could see each person that was doing their own little fillings with a solo and that was really nice [Music] I like how he waited he could have followed them they did the dad will live again like to tempo but he waited the dad well he waited until he was behind and then caught up and that's a really nice quality to be able to execute when you're singing with a choir for any of you singers out there who sing with background singers or sing with choirs that's a great thing to do because it separates you as a soloist from the rest and it allows the listeners ear to really break apart the different pieces of the music you're the principal singer they're the background they're able to when you're singing something separate than what the choir is singing really compartmentalized that sound and it's very pleasing to the audience this year he did a great job there and I was really appreciative of that moment [Music] whoo Liam yes you should need a breath there Wow he held that note a really really long time I'm not I'm not gonna take the time to go back and count it but you can and you can put in the comments box below how many counts you think he held it for I'm gonna guess at least four measures that was amazing amazing amazing the harmonies in the back had to catch up a couple times and then do their own thing at the end resolve that harmony line and then he stopped the note and he held at the whole time I mentioned before in another video how you can hold a note longer if you don't use vibrato at the very beginning of the note and he didn't he use straight tone until the very very end utilizing as as smart as he could every ounce of breath that he took before he started that along a long high note so really good job job mark that was impressive I'm now a fan if I wasn't already before maybe did you know very thoughtful beginning again [Music] [Music] [Music] yeah [Applause] [Music] [Applause] I really like a lot about that super high note is that she's able to produce that sound without being obtrusive and taking away all of the focus from where it really should be she is so good I mean IIIi don't want to just say she because they're all amazing but I really appreciate her consideration when she's singing you know she as the top note she uses a lot of she uses a lot of sincerity and she's a lot of integrity when she sings because she should she can easily be the star of that show volume wise because she's the top and it's pinning and it's it's pointing right towards your ear Rea but she doesn't she can still sing that high note and not let it inhibit the sound of the whole and that is something that's truly truly professional you know a lot of times when when groups of singers get together it's really easy to sort of like volume creep your part you know and you know make sure you're heard right but I find that the she sings with a lot of intuition and a lot of integrity and with excellence I really appreciated that my note and the volume and control of it good job let's listen to it just [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] nice ending they all ended together there [Music] that's hard hard [Music] oh my word oh my word of my word that is so good at the end you have no idea what just heard like the amount of control the amount of vocal technique that every single one of those two exercises oh my gosh that every single one of those singers had to employ individually to create that sound collectively is insane okay like I don't know if I can stress to you enough like what you just heard at the end there that was magic that's something that takes years for some groups to attain and they don't get to that level of control singing quietly is an art form a lot of people can sing loud and proud with power and and again game fans and and get accolades and and be applauded right but when you can sing controlled straight tone pure on pitch with great technique and it's quiet and powerful at the same time oh man I'd rather hear that all day long than a huge fealty note that's something you know I really would I would rather hear that all day long it is so impressive Oh Bravo okay thank you so
