everyone today I'm gonna be reacting to the mercury tea freddie mercury mixed with Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma by Mark Martel they say to me so if you guys have seen my other videos than you know that mark Martell sounds a lot like Freddie Mercury but here he's singing also in the style of Pavarotti so we're gonna see how he does in both of those let's check it out [Music] very nice so already he's going into the Pavarotti style of approaching the song Nessun Dorma and it's gonna be very interesting to see the different technical aspects that he uses to be able to produce the sounds of both of these singers so right now he's using a lowered larynx so he's almost on a young feeling like he's got that cutter oh-o-oh feeling underneath it so that gone in the back of his throat gives him that operatic sound that is what is making him sound a little bit like Pavarotti here [Music] [Applause] [Music] it's interesting even though he's doing the Pavarotti impression right now I still notice his bottom lip wanted to curl in as he was singing one of the vowels there the avowal and that's very distinctive of Freddie Mercury another thing to notice is that everything about him is extremely relaxed here so he's not going up into the super high range of his voice and he's keeping it all really relaxed allowing the jaw to open really nice and wide as he's going for these vowels so we don't want to think no son daughter mom it's just too trapped in the throat we want to allow the jaw to open yeah son daughter mom that's gonna allow for more of an amphitheater in your mouth for the sound to resonate and come out clearly [Music] me on Easter like you oh wow I don't know if you guys saw that but one side of his face has the beard and he's shaved and the other side of his face only as the mustache so they're using both sides to kind of show him switching roles as from Pavarotti - to Freddie Mercury so that's really funny so here you can already hear he's already switched tonality so he's out of that really low larynx and now he's coming up more to his neutral larynx if not slightly high [Music] and now he's using a lot of rasp in the Freddie Mercury style the larynx is coming up a lot more and that's kind of the quintessential sound that Freddie would would be singing [Music] beautiful [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] I just I love I love the shooting of this video because he's he's using kind of so like the the sides of his face to kind of portray that he's switching roles is I just think that's really cool [Music] I'm by the way Nessun Dorma is one of my favorite songs and so the fact that now I'm getting to hear what Freddie Mercury would have said sounded like on this one Dorma it's very very cool for those people who love opera it may not be your cup of tea but for those of you who love Freddie and also like opera like I have a very diverse style that I draw from as far as music goes and so I really like this kind of merging of styles very very cool [Music] [Applause] they're his his high notes are just a little bit lighter than what Pavarotti would be doing Pavarotti would still hold on to a little bit more of that low larynx depth that he had in the lower notes where he's lightening up a little bit more and it's probably just because that's what his his voice needs in order to hit those higher notes to lighten up just a little bit allow them to thin out whereas Pavarotti would would have held on to a lot more strength in those upper notes [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] so that was very very nice although in Pavarotti's version he also showed the upper teeth so the the way Freddie would have sung it yes wide open he would have been very wide open but if it was Pavarotti singing it he would have been a lot more covered a lot more so the upper lip wouldn't be wouldn't be opening like that the way that he did it if you watch that again so watch Pavarotti yeah yeah eyes wide open like that more cover if you would have tried to approach it with a little bit more of a covered sound the you would have gotten a little bit more of that oomph on the on the on the depth of his voice and it probably would have come out more like Pavarotti would sing it as opposed to this is going more towards a pop sound as opposed to the opera sound which always uses a slightly more covered sound [Music] [Applause] [Music] and there you have it mark Martell singing as Pavarotti and Freddie Mercury so I hope you guys enjoyed this video if you did please leave a thumbs up if you want to see more of these videos please hit the subscribe button and next to it hit the bell so you get notifications when new videos come out with all that said I'll see you guys in the next video you
