Vlog: Adopting a baby Italian Greyhound

today's the day I'm getting a dog like we always do at this time I honestly can't believe I just said that like it's been 10 years in the making and I it doesn't feel real to me yet just because I'm running so long like my first dog that I ever had I was nine years old and my dad gave her to me as a birthday present and when my dad passed away she was kind of like my connection with that you know I had him because well he had given it to me and she was still you know alive but then when I left for France when I came here she passed away like a few years later and obviously I wasn't there and so I just wasn't able to say goodbye or anything so I always knew that I wanted to get a dog always always and whenever I spend you know like very sad moments alone all I wanted was just to have a little little creature there's nothing like the love of a dog like not to say that I have my boyfriend and everything but the laugh of a dog is just so unconditional and so cute and so like I just there's nothing like a lot of a dog so I know I'm gonna cry so I'm just doing like a super super light makeup this I actually just got is the closest concealer I got it because honestly I saw Haley we were using it and I know that she goes for like super natural looks I've been using the Nars for like years and I was ready for like something new because I know I was kind of like really gets into the creases and I feel this is the second time I'm using this one and I feel like this one is like super creamy and it doesn't hang on the creases as much and it looks so natural like it honestly looks super natural so I like that and especially for today I don't want to take it on I'm getting breakfast done by mine okay that looks good [Music] that's so cute the woman from home we got our dog just said that things are ready and she said you know they're ready in a balloon and this is what a balloon looks like such a sad image like we're taking her away from her family okay let's finish getting ready then we're gonna go look for the car and then where are you gonna leave everything [Music] okay let's get ready obviously got clothing for the occasion oh here it is look at this beauty these are sweats it's a sweat suit that I got from meshki and the lady said to wear clothes that you don't mind getting the Orion so I thought this one would be perfect because it's already great obsessed with this fit sorry about the whole these are the doors that need to be taken back we're like building a little bit of a wardrobe here in the room because I didn't have a lot of space anyways I am loving this is from the hoodie love a good hoodie cute okay let's go okay we are in Orleans uh we're halfway to look for our baby um she lives five hours from Paris so we rented a car and now we're gonna go get her but we have to eat so we just thought we'd stop here for a little stick fit and that's it we're ready to eat but it's not so now we have to buy one in like five minutes so let's find a cage okay we have the cage and now we just have to go and get a little doggy that goes inside [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] when he passed away you know it was the only thing really that I can't live so it really became like this really deep connection that I had with her and when I left obviously I couldn't come with her I'm gonna start like like me she was like climb into my bag and I just it was honestly it was one of the hardest things to leave was to leave her there and even though I know she was well taken care of obviously but my mama when I was so sad and so alone all I really wanted was to have my little dog with me or any little dog for that matter like I just felt so sad and so on the band I just I would have given anything to happen with me and a few years later um well she obviously passed away and I was I wasn't even there a little bit sudden even though she was a little bit older I'm respecting it and so she passed away and from that moment on I've always like I don't want to say like a void or an emptiness but I always knew that I wanted to have a dog always always that it was like a huge huge so I thought about it for years and finally after so many years of thinking about it we just finally if we were from home both of us we have enough space we have enough time and we have you know enough resources to take care of her and make her happy and give her a good house so excited and I just know I am going to cry like a baby [Music] [Music] oh my goodness [Music] oh my God [Music] foreign yeah foreign [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] yeah we'll play [Music] it ready [Music] we spent over three hours because um where we got it from it's very important for her to give us like all the explanations and all the things we have like a bag full of papers and stuff and it was very very educating so I think it's important that we're educated about this little baby um we had her in her cage but uh it was just she was crying and she started like you know going upwards and she hit her head so I was like I'm not about to do that so now she's sleeping and we're waiting to eat a little bit of McDonald's I think we're gonna get to Paris around midnight um and so we're gonna all be tired which is perfect for our first night together and we're gonna be happier anyway we are now eating a little McDonald's to come and she's just been sleeping the whole time and not even like she saw the food because she wasn't like excited or anything we just put her down and she's sleeping like she's such a drinking what are you gonna eat and we're gonna try to get back home as quickly as possible [Music] you want to blame them yeah what you want to do [Laughter] that challenge [Music] she is the cutest thing in the world up [Music] oh my gosh oh my goodness welcome home thank you is your house [Music] thank you I'm so scared hey guys [Music] oh no what thank you foreign [Music] guys okay so we are just walking around they say it was very important for her to like start seeing you know like buildings and people and cars and so she starts getting acquainted with things that she's never seen before hmm she's so cute she's so good like she doesn't even cry or anything this is just the sweetest little girl and she's just so like interested in seeing everything there is around her and I think getting home we're gonna give her a little bath because she has like a little mod I hope it's mod in her fur and her little nails also has nickname yes you knew so we're gonna just give her a little tiny bath and I did research it and he's safe to give her baths after eight weeks which she is so we're just going to give her a warm little bath with the natural shampoo that we got for her so she doesn't think anymore and that's it oh my God this is hard it's working for this is look at that look at the mud Dy is fine okay I'm sorry I'm gonna have to watch [Music] the water is warm okay you're gonna be okay you're fine oh it's so nice wow the water is so nice though it's so warm are you lucky trying to not wash our head because I was just ready for that so I'm just washing this is the body part thank you foreign [Music] foreign okay so it's been officially almost a week we are Friday tomorrow is Saturday and we got her last Saturday I am the happiest I've been in a very long time just because this little like look at her she is such a blessing um we decided to name her Iris because I I don't know why I feel like this whole thing has a lot to do with my dad maybe because you know my last dog it was a gift from him there's this story that my dad used to tell me about these seven colored feather bird that was in the Amazonian jungle in Colombia and there was this hunter that dreamed of this bird that had seven colors and it was so big that it would cover half the sky and so when the hunter woke up he was like okay I gotta go and Hunt that bird and when he went you know out to hunted he looked up and he actually realized that he was not dreaming about a bird he had dreamed of the rainbow and so in that story at the very end when he gets back to his house and he tells his mom the story she tells them that the rainbow is actually the way that the cats use to communicate with people on Earth to guide them reassure them and let them know they are not alone so Arco it is it is you know and just fix her perfectly a little thing that I wanted to do in honor or you know the connection that I feel like that so anyways I feel like I I have to like get her a psychologist just because I'm putting so much of like my I don't want to say traumas but like my things on her already and she's just like hey you're hanging out she has no idea the head apps like that so anyways this is going to be a long journey and I can't wait to see what life holds for us together she's going to grow up to be such a beautiful [Music] little doggy and I'm going to have so much fun with her I'm gonna love her and
