Visiting Mallorca in June 2024: WHAT TO EXPECT

so temperatures are heating up Beach days are upon us Welcome to My Guide to mayorca in June now I'm over here in Alcudia Beach Resort today it's a beautiful sunny day you can see I'm down here just by the Red Bridge but in this video I'm going to give you a full guide to what you expect if you're coming over to see us in June so in this video I'm going to be covering everything that you need to know from what the weather is going to be like key issues on the island that you need to be made aware of and also key events as well and recommendations for things to do if you're coming over to see us for a pre peak season holiday now I have to put out the alert because um we are on the edge of peak season so if you're looking to get a slightly cheaper getaway book it now come over before the third week of June because you may will be able to pick up a slightly cheaper break than you're going to find during July and August I also have to say as well that kids finished school on around the third week of June as well my daughter included and well we have a very long summer holiday here it lasts for around 3 months which is which is a lot longer than the six weeks you normally get particularly in the UK but we have a very long summer holiday season here so after about the third week of June we're going to see the beaches looking a lot busier than they were before you're going to notice more people being on the beaches as well also you're going to find many European kids as well finishing their schools as well in Germany and in France and throughout Europe as well so we're going to be expecting a lot of families coming over to the island on that third week but that's not to say that we're not going to see children in Family Hotels throughout the early part of June earlier on this year I ran a poll on the muor Under the Sun Community page here on YouTube and 75% of those of the hundreds who responded said that so they will be taking advantage of Cheaper season breaks and traveling outside of the school holidays so we can expect to see the Family Hotels busy even though schools may have not finished in some other countries um around Europe too okay so the first issue we're going to discuss very briefly you may well have seen my other content it's all about sunbeds on beaches around myca now by the time we get into June I'd say that most of the resorts are going to have sunbeds on the beaches but that may not be the case over in PTO puena I will be over there very soon to bring you another update so subscribe to the channel if you haven't done so already to catch that video but um we should have most of the sun beds out around the beaches and of course mior being mior the prices have not been standardized throughout the island you're going to you're going to find a huge variety of prices I'm trying to get around most of the resorts as well check out my channel you should find find somebo prices on most of those videos as well so I'll drop a few useful links in the description text below if you want to check out what those are the same goes as well for anything else that you may be reading in the mainstream media about my Ora a lot of the news I have to say and I'm just going to pop this in into this video has been sensationalized I'm trying to bring you the news that I see it as as a resident here who actually goes into the resorts and and talks to Holiday makers too so hopefully I can give you a realistic impression of what it's like over here I'm not at a newed desk in in in another country and I'm I'm I'm also out and about as well than the resort so if you're seeing news about protests if you're seeing news about anything else make sure you come to my channel as well and I'll try try and give you my impression of what I see as well so um please don't worry if you're coming out here I just want to drop that in the atmosphere over here in Alcudia today and you'll see that in the video that I'm putting out is well everyone's here on holiday and they're having a fantastic time so try not to worry too much if you're seeing news in the press okay so we're going to leave this area now I'm going to head on onto the main Beach we're going to get some nice views of our Beach where I'm going to talk to you about the [Music] weather okay so what kind of weather can we expect in mayorca in June well it's the official switch on for summer in my opinion and around the time that schools break up which is the third week of June we see summer being switched on and those temperatures suddenly go from being a little bit cool on the evenings and nice and sunny during the days to absolutely boiling hot and it happens every single year so if you are visiting around the third week of June expect summer to hit about then now until then we're going to be having some lovely temperatures of around 26° during the day we're going to see evening temperatures of being around 18° at night too we do have this slight wind still up here in Alcudia which I think Will Roll into June it may continue throughout the summer as well but this Breeze up here on the east side of the islands and particularly the Northeast side of the islands keeps the temperatures a little bit cooler and it's very very pleasant but we do tend to have and I have mentioned it in previous videos we do tend to get microclimates around the island so when it might may be a little bit cooler and breezier up here in alia it could be absolutely scorching down in the southwest to say over in palmanova to but if you are coming over here in June as well we're not immun to having the occasional shower as well and if we do have any rain during the month of June well it'll pass by very quickly I hope any Springtime storms we have now are going to be behind us but just be prepared for the occasional cloudy day or maybe a very very occasional showy day too but apart from that the weather's going to be amazing expect sunrise times to be around 6:20 in the morning the sun will set at around 9:22 so make sure you take advantage of that fantastic time of the day too [Music] okay so as you know there are very few places on alidi beach where you can actually uh grab yourself a drink at the moment and well I'm down here on the playero beach club here just grabbing myself a quick coffee while we continue with looking at what it's going to be like in mayor in June now I'm going to put out um my first warning of the year as well for restaurants if you're coming over here from June I've seen it's very busy over here in Alcudia I mean this is this is a major tourism Resort and of course all the other Resorts as well are going to be extremely busy the further we move on into June so my recommendation is particularly in the bigger bigger more busy holiday Resorts that you do book yourself a table if you do want to eat anywhere in particular not to say that you won't find anywhere to eat on the evening but if there is a particular restaurant that you do want to eat at then I would really recommend getting yourself at a table booking a table maybe a day or two in advance so I'm just going to put that warning out now we're expecting record numbers on the island we've only got a certain amount of restaurants here so things are going to be busy this this uh summer so don't forget to get the that restaurant booked if you want to eat anywhere in particular also as well talking about it being very busy over here on the island for this summer just bear in mind that the buses as well are still going to be the best way for you to get around myca I still recommend that as being the key way of getting around the island over and above renting a higher car yes it's going to be a little bit sunnier it's going to be a little bit warmer waiting at those bus stops take a bottle of water take a hat with you take your patience as well but plan your route as well and um one thing we've always said the past few Summers where we've seen an increasing number of holiday makers over here is to maybe check out some different routes to where you're going to check out all the bus numbers as well because sometimes it's not just the one bus that goes to a destination that you're trying to go to so it may help if you could even take the train or then change and get onto another bus to avoid the crowds but um check out The Tib website I'll drop a link below to that and I've got a really really good trip planner too so still my preferred way of getting around the island I make bus trips too you can do it as well you can still get out and see quite a lot of the island too while you're over here on holiday don't forget as well I've also got a full guide to getting getting public transport here on the island I'll drop a link to that video right below this video here ' also got a full website guide too okay so what about things to do over here in mayorca during the month of June well first of all I have to say just because I am on the northeast of the island I have to make you aware that if you are looking to visit for Menor the whole area formentor which just lies a little bit north here of Alcudia and it is a fantastic day trip if you're looking at visiting by car well restrictions on those roads start from the 1st of June and they run to the 30th of September depending on crowds this year it may those restrictions May well be extended we'll have to wait and see and I can bring you that update later on in the season but I also have a full video about the restrictions about driving to formentor beach in another video as well I shall drop that link in the description text below as well I've got a whole website article about it too but the W best way of visiting a formentor by far is also getting the bus as well there are a number of excursions you can take to you can get a um you can get a B to you can get the various boat trips over there too and I'll drop a few suggestions in the description text for you to check out as well also we're going to see during the month of June right at the beginning of June we're going to see the beach clubs opening over here in mayorca at last because I have been walking around at ilas and I haven't seen any movement on the beach clubs on poro Beach down that side of the island but we should see all the beach clubs now opening up on the island during the month of June and with that brings the opening parties as well so look out for those we've got Beach Clubs right the way around the island as well always good fun also another great day to spend by the water they obviously in fabulous locations they do great food too and you can book your suned as well so you needn't worry about trying to find room in the beach clubs before going over book in advance go and enjoy your day so June also signals the start of many of the smaller markets and the holiday resorts to which means that you don't always have to jump on the bus to go to to the nearest busiest biggest Market in whichever Oldtown that's been held and yes we do have a lot of markets over the island but if you do want to go to a market well in some cases you don't actually need to leave your holiday Resort so for example over in Sea yott they have a small Market in the resort Center which you can go and visit as well I think it's held on a Wednesday but you get these markets in Resorts all over the islands including actually quite a nice one just up the coast here in canpa 4 to so check with your rep I do have a guide to markets on my website on New York underthe sun.com as well go and see where your nearest market is and make sure you get out from off the beach and from beside the pool as well and go and experience one of those two okay so I'm going to finish my coffee and in the next segment we're going to talk about some key events that going on in myca in Je [Music] okay so what else do we have going on over here in mayorca during the month of June well the big event is held on the night of the 23rd of June it's the no de San Juan or the night of San Juan and it's it's a huge Festival to celebrate midsummer's Eve now this takes place islandwide as well and it's the one point during the summer when you can light a fire legally on on the beaches or have a barbecue you're going to find many of the beaches around the island as well you're going to find groups and parties Gathering some holding candles some placing candles in the sand some having little barbecues some lighting very small fires as well but it's a huge event and taking place in Palmer which we've had over the past several years has been a huge fire run as well taking place in parks of the mar which is right in front of the cathedral now as soon as that event is is announced and it's being advertise our Shel promote that on the newor Under the Sun Facebook page as well we do find with local events and I just have to say we do find with local events that many are not really advertised until a week or two before they actually happen because well I've said it before these events are really targeted or aimed at local residents here on the islands but of course everyone's welcome to attend but they just don't tend to promote them too far in advance so I'm not quite sure what the program is for San Juan for this year but there's going to be loads going on around the island too what you can do in the resorts as well may well vary as well depending on the number of people here but in the past it's always been the case that we've gone down to the beach with a group of friends with some food we've taken some candles and there's been a really great party atmosphere now I'm also going to put the warning out that if you are over here with kids maybe not go to that particular event I always say when you're over here on holiday go and have a picnic on the beach with your family one evening cuz it's one of the coolest things that you can do on the hot Summer's night but I would avoid actually taking children down onto the beaches for San Juan because I've seen in my experience as well and um experience from many of my friends as well that well kids have got lost on the beach as well just because of the Shar number of people that are down there it's not a great place to take kids at night particularly with lots of people drinking as well and and it's dark so just maybe give that one the Mist if you're you're here with a family and small kids that like to run around okay so another big Festival that we have over here in mayorca dring June is the San Pere Festival over here actually on the northeast side of the island and that normally takes place around the 29th of June well on the week leading up to the 29th of June in Alcudia and we're talking about Alcudia port and Alcudia Oldtown there's going to be plenty of activities going on as well so you can get involved in a local Festival too so expect lots of traditional dance displays some markets some other cultural events as well so a really good opportunity if you're coming up to this side of the island to get off the beach and also get involved in that too so also taking place on the southwest of the island which is a must goate to for any tennis fans and well you know how much we like tennis over here in mayorca with Rafa Nadal being a local hero we have the WTA tennis tournament and that takes place between the 22nd and the 29th of June this year so this tournament is run anned for attracting some real tennis greates and also some up and cominging players too you can get tickets for for around € 10 as well the starting price is around €10 so that's also a really nice activity to go and do particularly if you're a big wi Wimbledon fan as well and you like watching tennis go go ahead and support that you never know who you're going to get to see either okay everyone so going on into the summer don't forget I'm going to bring you as much content as I can
