Visit Las Vegas - 5 Things You Will Love & Hate about Las Vegas

either fellow travelers mark you with Walters ruled and today we're in Las Vegas get the Luxor behind me and the strip behind me all kinds of great stuff and see we have for you are the five things you're gonna love and hate about visiting Vegas so let's get started now the first thing you're not gonna like about coming to Vegas is when you first get here and you've got to take a taxi from the airport into town the taxis here are insane in terms of the price expect to pay at least forty dollars going from the airport down to the strip if you want to go from the strip to downtown you're looking at twenty some bucks the prices are nuts for the taxis here they do have Ebor and live but just know the prices are frustrating also when you pay for your taxi to use a credit card they give the option of a 20% tip a 30% tip or a 40% tip and then they have other now the thing is if you push the other button it doesn't pick a percentage it gives a dollar amount so you think you all want to give the guy a 15% tip you'll actually put fifteen dollars on there so that can be a bit troublesome so that's the first thing I hate it's just the taxi experience here now the taxi drivers could be crazy cool or just crazy or okay but just know it'll be an experience and an expensive one every time you take a taxi here in in Las Vegas but you are gonna have to take them to get around so just know that all right now the second thing you're not gonna like about coming to Vegas is it is expensive the resorts in the hotels they are price Andy that those restaurants the prices do add up and the alcohol yer if you're not gambling and getting those free drinks which I'll talk about later the drinks can be insane expensive you're at I hope you're at a hotel bar fifty dollars for a drink of Jack Daniels or whatever when it was just you know free on the gambling floor floor it is expensive when you come here so be prepared for that because you will leave with your wallet a little bit more empty whether you're gambling or not also one of the things that kind of upsets people when they are here our resort fees you know you find that great deal for your hotel your resort I got it for 150 bucks awesome or 80 buy awesome and then you get them they say oh wait well we have resort fees for the pool and for the internet and stuff like that and those resort fees can be twenty or thirty dollars so that can really add up really quickly also if you're gonna come with some extra buddies here well you got to pay for the extra people in the room sometimes so it really does get annoying as it is expensive and all the kind of hidden costs that are here now there's some things you can do to kind of mitigate those costs you know ask for a rewards card that can give you discounts of different places and everybody's got some freebies here and there free discounts here and there and that does help out okay but that's the second thing as the expensive nature and it it does get a bit annoying now the third thing you might not like about coming to Vegas or you might love this will go on both lists actually are the people that are here because you do have the people that are you know getting drunk and crazy drunk I mean I've shot my taxi driver he's like look there's crazy people I'm fine with that with a drunk crazy people I'm not fine with those and you'll see when you're here there are people trying to relive that hangover movies guys and girls and a death sometimes get a little doing when you got the drink great drink stuff like that because you can drink on the street here just know glass bottles but it is kind of annoying when you have that and also the other people that are around when you walk down the corner with your kids and they got the people handing out like what are those baseball cards no there's a porn pushers the porn peddlers for the escort service and stuff like that and they're on every corner you like no thanks no thanks and that does kind of make maybe be a little shocking for you but maybe something you don't like it should I look leave me alone man because I can't tell you how many times I've been walking around by Walters real gear how many people in the corners are like oh hey Walters old that's my name hey can I have a dollar can I have some money let's talk you like dude please leave me alone okay so sometimes the people can be a bit much when you are here but they can't be really cool to it I'll talk about that on the other side now the fourth thing you won't like about coming to Vegas is smoking is still okay here when you go to the gambling house you go to the casinos and stuff like that you can still smoke inside they have smoking it's not a smoking there you have to go look for a non-smoking area so if you don't like smoking you're used to all the fresh air and stuff like that we've had in the US the last few years realized in Vegas there's no such thing so be prepared and I will tell you this if you're going to be going to hell I can't believe they're smoking and people have been drinking I've seen some problems when I've been here with a little bit of fisticuffs for people complaining about dude it's I could smoke here I don't want you to smoke just deal with it realize smoking is a fact of life here in Vegas okay but I will say when you're booking your hotel room make sure you ask for a non-smoking room because if you get a room that is a only sometimes non-smoking and sometimes smoking it is horrible okay so just be prepared for that all right and the fifth thing you're gonna hate about coming to Vegas is if you come here during the summer months the oppressive heat that is here I mean you know people say it's a dry heat it doesn't matter 115 or 46 degrees Celsius is still insane hot so make sure you're keeping hydrated not just alcohol wise but drinking waters that are you know two three or four dollars do those things because the heat does come down go under those casinos they're cool to check out to cool off of here at the hottest time and what's craziest you have hot days and you can have cold nights so you really have to layer so I have your sweatshirt or your t-shirt and all these kind of things so you can take it off and layer because this isn't just you know all I can wear t-shirts and shorts all year round no it does get cool especially for gonna be going hiking it at Mile Charleston places like that I mean things can get really cool I mean it's a desert hot during the day cool at night so be careful now those are just little things you might not like about coming to Vegas overall it is a fun time to go and so there's some stuff you're really gonna love the first thing you're gonna love is walk in the strip and just people watching because of people here yes there's crazy good and there's crazy bad but it's crazy fun too people watch when you're here yes you do get to see you know your your people on the corner a dress like you know pseudo strippers or like a minion or something like that and there's people singing these people dancing there's all kinds of stuff and the whole experience of just walking the strip it is just a really cool experience and doing that people watching so if you want grab a bar or grab a table on one of the one of the casinos or whatever like on one of their restaurants on the strip and just people watch it is awesome just to see the craziness that is here I mean I'm glad you're thinking about that all the stuff we've seen we're here last thing you're gonna love is just the people that you bump into it you see and all this kind of stuff we met people that knew of our hometown or all kinds stuff but it's just really fun when you are here just people watching in all the crazies okay good and bad now the second thing you love about Vegas is they say Vegas never sleeps it's so true this place is 24 and there is no last call there's no you know you could we stop at 11 things go all night all day you will see grandmas and other people gambling at 5 o'clock in the morning you will see people you know renting their cars and driving around like crazy people all hours of the day and this place is to always go go go so if you want to do something if you want to go rent a sports car that you've never could afford you can do that you want to hang out with Elvis you can do that this thing is go go go all the time you want to have breakfast at dinner you can do it you want have dinner at breakfast you can do it I mean this place is on all the time and it is so cool it can be a bit tough though so make sure you don't burn yourself out when you are here because it's easy to just go go go cuz you never realize what time is it really cuz there's no clocks in these casinos either so make sure if you don't have a watch keep your phone charged up so you can keep track of the time all right the third thing you're gonna love that coming to Vegas is the food the food the food yes I'm a big guy and I love food and in Vegas is a great place for me because if you with the all-you-can-eat buffets with great stuff they have that if you want to go to a restaurant of somebody you saw on the Food Network they have that they have fantastic food here in Vegas no matter where you go you're going to be eating well so make sure you do eat well you don't have to go to the fast food places they have it all the time anywhere you want to go the food is fantastic so make sure you try it out and also it's cool that the food is they have all kinds of different options you want french you want to Ethiopia new one American you want breakfast they have it all and that's one of those really great things about Vegas the food's fantastic but there's all kinds of foods whether you're vegan or you're yo gluten-free or whatever they've got fantastic food for everybody so make sure you're eating well when you are here so the fourth thing you're gonna love about coming here is yes there are comped drinks there is free alcohol when you are here no not at the bars and restaurants where it's insane expensive to buy alcohol but if you're gambling you can get drinks for free you can play the penny slots literary penny slots and get beer that cost $8 outside they will give you free whiskey free beer things like that but the thing is you got to be playing the games for them to give you the free drinks and also you want to make sure you're tipping that waitress the cocktail waitress that brings the drinks around because if you don't give her a buck at least or five bucks or whatever you get a nice are drink she's not gonna come by too often so if you want to have those free drinks and keep them coming make sure you tip that waitress while you play such it's not really free because you're playing you're tipping but overall it's pretty good experience that could insider' you you might get a Johnny Walker at the bar for 50 bucks so hey what is tipping five bucks to her for the same thing I get for free with comped drinks it's really cool and the fifth thing you're going to love about coming to Vegas is yes there is awesome gambling to do here but there's tons of stuff that is not gambling you can go to the Bob museum which is really cool the order of the Fremont Street Experience to see the light show and the people watching there you can go to Mount Charleston and go hiking you go to Lake Mead and go fishing you can go to the Grand Canyon to Hoover Dam there's somebody thinks aside from gambling here go see the circus performers at Circus Circus go to the Bellagio and see the fountains go up the volcano at the Mirage exploding all kinds of stuff great shows see all kinds of stuff here there's so much to see and do in Vegas aside from gambling and with gambling that it really does have stuff for everybody and that is one thing that is really cool and you will love about that anyway so just five little thanks I love and hate about coming to Vegas what are
