hi welcome tonight I'm streaming so that's a thing I said I might not be streaming but tonight I'm streaming and I'll be streaming something that seems very interesting which is rim world why I said it like that rimworld this is a game that people have been recommending here and there you know once every couple months or so I do know what the game generally is and I've been thinking about it for a while I know it just got a new update and I couldn't really help myself I kind of wanted to check it out because I did like odd realm quite a bit and I know that this is Dwarf Fortress ish and you know what we'll take a look maybe I'll enjoy it vini expect to be furnished with a lot of false information during this game most people play with mods and forget how to play vanilla fair enough well whatever happens I'll do my best to make this entertaining and to learn it I have to do the tutorial chat you know I have no choice here seed the vine sauce keep it simple generate so I'm just using shredded starship fall around you you start making plans to survive WASD click and drag with the middle mouse button okay we got some zooming I see the supplies over here okay you can pause time so you can press space pause and unpause okay you can speed up time with one two or three great now make a stockpile so your colonists know where to keep items click architect on the bottom so we're gonna do zone and stockpile we have to get in the indicator alright I'll follow the tutorial whatever you say right click to get out of stockpile mode now to allow your colonists to bring items you must remove their forbidden designation clicking your starting items to select them alright allow alright so all this is allowed allow we want to okay so we're gonna allow all those allow this so this is a revolver that's a gun I think this could be fun for streaming chat because double click on the item okay so all of that type who is selected if you double click alright thank you I appreciate the we're gonna build some beds we need to definitely need more wood for this stuff three okay and some light of course what they would need light of course rats is building yeah they just they sleep next in outside the room colonists okay so you need to take this steel okay so they'll do that automatically your colonists need sources of recreation or they will get sad over time yeah I know I know that need something to eat so plays a growing zone is indicated on the map right so we're gonna place the growing zone and you can decide what plant you're CONUS should sow in a growing zone right click click your growing zone to select it click the plant selector and change it to rice have your colonists equipped the starting weapons to equip a weapon click colonists select them all right so we're gonna click we're gonna select Ratan right click the weapon you want to equip you can get the bolt action all right so rats gets that Ricki you can get the revolver and there should be one more weapon here for my other colonists Lafayette and what-what-what is that now [Music] you know a knife where you see a knife chat [Music] it's there it's pointing to it but I can't select it knife is on the bed it quit okay equip plus steel knife I see okay so they're gonna equip and then I can check their stats and find out what they're good at right so it's like social bio health can't do any of that nevermind now you'll need to make a stove to cook food build a fueled stove inside of the room I'm just gonna follow the tutorial let it get me through the basics and then I'll figure out all the complex shit do like a stove colonists need to be told what to cook cooking orders are added on the stove itself once a bill has been created colonists will do the work automatically wait for the stove to be built or just press three Q and E to rotate furniture well I need these lights to like move the pants [Music] they're like busy doing horseshoes we move the patents ricky force where flak pants [Music] and be very heavy prioritize delivering so what puts this item there's a wooden wall blueprint okay great now that's out of the way [Music] redoing your package survival me oh that's played I played tarkov escape from tarkov with Jeff today I wanted to find out what the fuck that game was I've been hearing about it's one of the most popular games on Twitch interesting game is what they'll do and what they won't do as well right you can control who does what kind of work using the checkboxes colonists will be tasked will do tasks in order from left to right they'll always follow their work priorities set the work settings carefully review them often well they're sleeping now um Lafayette doesn't do much Lafayette seems to hunt hmm firefight patient oh damn art do you want to do art and shoot and research now is there a way to move these I guess these are the most okay I see the priority the priority always stays the same it's just a matter of who you want doing what that makes sense okay so we need a research bench so production simple research bench inside your room oh that's gonna be a little challenging it what's the rotate button someone said there was a rotate button okay so we're gonna speed up their sleeping a bit research choose whatever you want to be researched first drug production you might have to wait for the research bench to be constructed or for trees to be chopped for wood if it's taking too long use the work tab to assign more Collins colonists to construct so if we do smithing we can develop blades and stuff but then we could do drugs for like more more good people we're gonna do drugs these be bales next you learn how to expand the home area colonists will clean floors and extinguish fires in the home area only ignore fires are filth outside of it home area is added automatically when you build things but you can expand it manually select expand home area but is going just to butt Blue is already home build roof area defines where your colonists will try to build roof roofs roofs autofills when you enclose a new room expand build roof area [Music] and drag the shape of a porch roof in front of the house okay now you got a basic colony running even though the house isn't even done yet rats is awakening all right but they're building the roofs all right so sandbags eventually enemies will raid your colony so you're gonna need sandbags to defend okay so again for anyone joining I don't have a ton of experience with games like this but I'm interested I'm very interested in this kind of thing okay so let's wait for your constructions to be built consider using warp tab to assign more colonists to construct you can speed up time to shorten the wait all right so we'll oh what's that we only have
