what is up my friends welcome back to your average gentleman it is your boy evan in today's video i have a super exciting sneaker review and on feed video for y'all it is super underrated but it is super sick you know honestly i i can't believe that i have never owned a pair of vans until now but you know what they say it is always better late than never right anyways this is the classic vents shoe box nothing crazy with the vents logo vans vans nothing crazy over here this is the shoe details as you can see this is the classic slip on black on black basically all blank version inside the box is where the bad boy is start this is one and this is the other okay nothing else in the box uh let's put the box away and here we have it nothing fancy super simple super basic in fact you cannot get any simpler than that and like all my other shoe reviews it's gonna be based on its aesthetics its affordability its comfortability its durability and lastly its versatility and without further ado let's get into this now first up let's kick it off with it's aesthetics right how pretty it looks i just have to say i mean how simple can it get right it has a slim profile it is all black on the outside and inside the sneaker we have a off-white kind of color which i have no problem with and we got a classic vents logo right there for design wise you have this mini black and white vents logo at the side of the vents and the only design or a pop of color is at the heel of the shoes which has this red vans logo i kind of wish that this is black as well which will truly make this an all black sneaker but i mean i don't mind i actually like the red too because it gives the sneakers some personality and some attitude if you will the bottom of the sneaker you have the classic vans waffle pattern gum outsole i think it's okay you know there's no complaints pretty dope so overall the vents slip on sneaker it is super minimalistic super basic super dope i really have nothing to complain about so for aesthetics i'm gonna give it a solid 10 out of 10. now let's talk about its affordability right uh it retails for about 50 usd and in singapore it retails for 69 singapore dollars it is the same price as a pair of converse chuck taylors i mean it's vans it's 50 bucks and if you go to an outlet store you can get it for even cheaper so how much cheaper do you want right so for affordability i think everybody can afford a pair of vents i'm gonna give it also a solid 10 out of 10. okay up next comfortability let's talk about its sizing first like i always recommend if you can always try it out in the store first before you make a purchase because every brand have different sizing right for example i'm buying uk size 9.5 for my adidas ultra boost and a uk size 9 for my adidas 10 smith for my converse chuck taylors i wear uk sized knife but for my fans i'm wearing uk size 9.5 so seriously i don't even know what is my true decision because my sizing is all over the place when it comes to different brands and different models all i can say is that if your true to size is based on converse chuck taylor then you probably have to go half a size up for your fan slip-ons because i think since it is a on they made it a little bit tighter and let's say your true to size is adidas ultra boost then you could basically get the same size for your vents but anyways vans it is super common you probably can find it in a store nearby to try its own now let's talk about its comfortability right the insole of a pair of vents classic slip on it is basically pretty much the same as your insole in any of your converse chuck taylor i almost suspect that they share the same manufacturer and if you have tried out any converse chuck taylor you know that their comfortability they're in so it's all right it is not like they're super uncomfortable or anything but i wouldn't call it super comfortable either i would just say it's okay i'll give it a pass the inner lining it has this kind of faux leather material which has a nice touch one thing that i really like is that the heel is actually really soft the heel of the shoe feels really comfortable against my heel surprisingly so i don't have any abrasion issues unlike most of my converse chuck taylors i think it is because of the extra paddings and the cushionings around the heel and around the ankle area that definitely helps with making sure that you have no abrasion around your heel and your ankle so in terms of its comfortability it is nothing wild at the same time it is also not too bad and if you look at the price i'm really not complaining at all so for comfortability i'm going to give it a 7 out of 10. next we talk about the durability the beaut of this pair of sneakers we have the canvas upper similar to the chuck taylors and of course it has this elastic band to slip on and slip off easily and it has a gum sole and i really like the gum so because somehow i feel like gum sauce feels more durable than your regular rubber outsoles although this is also rubber i don't know let me know down below anyways for the build quality i would say it is similar or comparable to a pair of converse chuck taylors it is probably gonna last me about a year if i wear it consistently and regularly so in terms of durability i'm gonna give it a six out of ten lastly i'm really excited let's talk about its versatility it is one of if not the most versatile pair of sneaker that anyone can ever have even more so than the adidas den smith or white and the converse jack purcell in all white i mean this is just too freaking minimalistic i mean literally if you wear this with a pair of black socks and you wear this with corporate wear nobody will even notice that you are not wearing a pair of dress shoes i mean just look at it right right it looks basically just like a pair of dress shoes and it works super well with any casual outfit as well my default is definitely an all black outfit with a pair of black jeans and black t-shirts just look at it how ninja is that and it looks super freaking well with a basic white t-shirt as well i mean i mean just look at it the only thing that i wish is that maybe the heel of the shoes is all black as well the red logo makes it just a little bit more casual makes the sneaker looks a little bit more edgy more bad boy and uh actually i dig it but anyways for versatility i'm definitely going to give it a solid 9.5 out of 10. and overall drum roll please i'm gonna be giving it a solid 8.5 out of 10. i think this just might be my favorite sneaker right now i mean i still love my white sneakers but this would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a super minimalistic classic stylish and versatile pair of sneakers you can wear these all season or occasion to any kind of situation and just forget about it you don't even need to worry about it because you can literally rock this with any outfits and that is
