It's interesting to think about automatons like this being given to Kings and Queens as gifts. When I would read about a Queen being given a music box that was envied by everyone I always think of it as just being jewel encrusted or whatever, but when you see something like this and think about the actual possibilities it may have been envied for entirely more amazing reasons than I always imagined.
As I was watching I could not believe the result at first, I was convinced it was an April fools joke and the final piece was done in CG. This is amazing and memorizing all at once.
