V6 MR2 Giveaway Car Immediately Blows Up on New Owner.

[Music] the last Bluffs finishing it's ready to go baby today we're giving away the Mr two breaths coming in from out of town and he's just about to get here within the next five minutes and of course throughout a fashion we're putting the finishing touches on a little McGuire's cleanup at the end and this is my favorite part [Music] oh hi right well I see man hours on watch is the exact right size so what do you drive right now right now I'm driving my Ford Edge which is what dr. yeah my entry name yeah so when you got the call like what went through your head and like what happened like after we hung up so at first I feel really stupid because I couldn't hear him I find said it was Mickey I'm like and literally it was just like because we have those formats like they're great oh yeah hey Brett this is Mickey from throttle I was just calling I saw you had a couple previous orders with us for some weathertech floor mats I also wanted to let you know that you've actually just won our mr2 I had to sit down about halfway through the conversation I'm like yeah I got pretty shaky it was pretty exciting and unfortunately for me I have I work with a lot of people that like to play pranks winning a car anything I was trying to trade lr6 and the guys I work with schooled a long con it was about three weeks and they were trying to trade me like an old 86 ploy I take up to one from factory future that's a sweet truck ya do really like three weeks down any wasted your time for three weeks could add that sold it would just it was unreal you know I think that's usually like the experience that people are that they're in shock it catches you off-guard I get so random like but it's really it's funny for us being on the other side of it so you like really this guy's checking on my rubber floor mats and then did today it's like the big so I mean we bought this car you saw the Paris episode right from this girl probably been one of the biggest if not the biggest transformation that we've done here so huge thank you to any any partner of people obviously these guys here who have helped make this possible and without further ado you ready three two one [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right so right now we're about to get on the freeway and my boy Brett's gonna take it for us it's gonna really test right this thing what do you think so far it's think this has the Siena upper intake manifold change that the best low end torque all the three and I'll get another lower intake manifold get that thing ported you know just kid it's more HP's out of it this is what I get there does have to be leaning like this seems fast I was stay on the shoulder I mean either [Music] we're gonna add our petal it back to the shop we are literally a mile away from the south [Music] [Laughter] [Music] so I just picked up the clutch Miriam from the auto parts store the Ola was her face when we did this put the clutch in it but for some reason it's bad I don't think this was the loud noise we heard same time you guys known as we took both valve covers out to eat takeout we drained the oil there was no metal shavings we took the transformation out and we drained it all others no matter shavings here then we took the transmission apart and it was still nothing broken that's what we ended up taking the valve covers out and we expected the bowels of rockers and lifters and nothing is broken so as of right now there is no signs of the engine or the transmission being broken but it sounds like it is so the only thing left to check was the flywheel and pressure plate so we inspected the flywheel we inspected the clutch there's nothing nothing like that either so our next option is our drive drive pulleys so we're gonna put everything back together now we're gonna start the car if they're noise still there then we're gonna remove the serpentine bail out and see the noise goes away the noise goes away then we notice one of the three pulleys so either attention and pulled away automatically fall under water pump or police all right the noise remains there then it could it could be the crank booth it really sounds like there's a an arm like a rod that's a lot don't wants to fly out there's no sign of forbearing being that Adam I'm just going to start putting stuff together and then go for me [Music] all right guys right now me and Victor she's finished putting in just mentioning we have two bolts holding the transmission in and we have all the motor mounts mounted so right now the engine is being held their own in their own mounts say so I'm gonna bring the car down now and then I'm going to finish putting the last one is just missing all the way around and I'm going to start hooking up everything I can so we can try to get this thing started again and so you know she's still there [Music] [Applause] [Music] alright guys so right now the transmission is completely in most of the wiring for the just mentioning well nominal so all of it is done the starters and all the grounds are already being plugged in the exhaust system is back on what's left is the valve cover the coils plugins injectors and then put the intake manifold on it attach the throttle body to it and then plug the intake and the sensors in and then should be able to crank it back on [Music] all right so right now I just finished bolting up everything there is to build up and hook up I just turned the battery on and we're gonna crank it I'm little detail alright so right now we just I just took the serpentine belt off we got the oil level up to par and we should well I'm hoping that the noise goes away it goes away as good news it means one of those pulleys or the water pump pulley tensioner or adequate is bad it's not an idea [Music] well what'd you find make we found a lot of metal in the creases oh my god look at all the glitter this motors done yeah Brett you did good brother so we're gonna FaceTime Brett now and tell him the news we got some news good news is we figured out the problem we just figured it out nice the bad news is this is what was in the oil filter can you see that yeah oh yeah we got some glitter going on like serious yeah motors toast motors toast looks like we spun some bearings so I'm gonna get a new motor here on the way as soon as possible and we're gonna swap it out for you so I don't know if it was it was tired when we got it I don't know we don't we don't really know exactly but these things are typically very reliable yeah he knows we checks full sand bread we call you fat Steinbrenner that's gonna be your hashtag from now on brother so thankfully thankfully there's not like a lot of modification and stuff to the engine and they are read pretty readily available I just want to make sure we get a good one give us a couple days and then it'll be a couple days to swap everything over sorry sorry to say but at least we got to the bottom of it all right brother thanks brother yeah here we go let's go find a motor well that's that the 2gr is done so now we got to go find another 2gr so we can give it to Brett so you can have a nice on a car so you know stuff happens I don't know if anyone knows exactly why it was a motor from a junkyard had a warranty but yeah we'll see we'll keep this for now pulse and Britt that's what we'll send Brad yeah this is the first for us but we will of course do right by Breton and make sure that the car is running in perfect condition and we're actually you know we were just talking about this we're actually pretty dang happy that it happened here and not either while Brett was you know on his first maiden voyage back in Idaho or you know a week later so obviously we got to make right by this we're gonna pay we're gonna make the mr2 freakin awesome once again and now it's time to go buy a new motor so here we go alright it's the next day guys and we have sourced a new well new to us to gr FTE and actually this one was a little bit more complete than the one that we bought originally but it looks pretty good obviously it's a little bit dirty but it should do the trick so what we're gonna do we're gonna check the spark plugs check the oil make sure I guess from what we can tell make sure that the engine is healthy and then we begin the swapping process so if you guys want to stay tuned to that the next video is going to be titled something along the lines of replacing a v6 mr2 engine in 15 minutes it's gonna be a lot of time lapse because you guys have already seen that process once before but I just wanted
