Upgrading my setup with a Times Gate by DiVoom - Unbox, Setup and Review

hi loves welcome back to our Channel this is Jerry and for today's video I'm going to be unboxing and reviewing this times gate device by deom let's go ahead and get right into it all right so it comes in this really cute pink bag with this little cord I think it's so cute they always have the really cutest packaging for their products um inside the bag is of course the device I'm going to go ahead and pull it out now it's wrapped in plastic so I'm going to go ahead and remove this plastic so that we can get a better look at it all right here is the casing for the deom Times gate I chose pink it does come in um other colors but I chose the pink one so it came in this pink box and I will admit it's a really beautiful pink I'm a little picky sometimes about the pink that I like but this one is just so lovely so beautiful it says times gay it has the little deom logo [Music] here have a little seal here so I'm going to go ahead and pull the seal up all right so we're going to press here to open just like that wow look how beautiful this is It's like a pearl bubblegum pink with pearly white and purple accents I think it's going to go perfect with my like chomi theme that I have going on because of the pink and the purple let's go ahead and take it out of the case so we can get a better look at it all right so here it is it says deom on the bottom I mean these colors are so gorgeous I'm like I'm not over that kind of matches my nails too all right so here are um the different buttons oh wow they're like a really soft touch feel I wish you guys could touch this this is such an interesting texture so we have the power Bo um button the mode button light button and then some other buttons I'll go over those when we go through the manual this case is cool all right I'm going to have to go through the manual really quick so that we can figure out how to open the case up and take the protectors off of the screens and then I'll show you you how to set it up and everything I do believe we have to um use a USB in order to power the device it doesn't have battery internal battery so it won't hold a charge you do have to keep it connected which is not a problem for me because of the setup I have I can probably connect it to um my switch here so I'm guessing the um cable is in here oops I just ripped that all right so here's the cable and it is a braided cable all right awesome so it's USB on this side and then USBC on this side so this should be pretty easy to integrate into your desk set up all right so I'm back I've had a little bit of time to play with everything and read this little manual there's not a lot of information in here but I will be going over what I did learn um first I ended up plugging it in through the back I went under my um monitor Riser here and so I'll probably just keep it like here like this on my desk I think it looks really cute like that um all right let's get into it you okay so first things first you do not open this casing I thought you opened it you definitely don't open it um as you can see there's a screen protector but it's on this actual casing itself so let's go ahead and remove that and I think they just included this so that um it doesn't get scratched up or anything before they get it to you all right so now it's super shiny and pretty I'm going to show you guys um how to customize these screens and what all of these buttons are for I think I think first we should go over the buttons so let's get into that all right so first button is this button here at the top that says light and you're going to press that button to switch between light settings for these RGB lights that you see here here and um here so I'm going to hold it an angle so you can kind of see the lights better that are there and every time you click sorry press it switches light setting so this is a solid color that slowly Fades into the next color I believe press it again and we get this slow fade through colors this one is like the more solid color one and this one's switching fast and if you wanted more control over the exact colors and um the speed of the light and things like that you can edit that in the app but this is just for a quick um light change I personally like the like rainbowy ones like this so I think we'll leave it um maybe the next one there on Rainbow for now now we have these Arrow buttons as they're referred to in the manual um the right arrow will increase the brightness of the lights by 10% and the left Arrow will decrease the brightness by 10% one click is 10% Like I just mentioned but if you hold press and hold then it will rapidly lower the brightness or rapidly um turn up the brightness the next button that I want to go over is the mode button that you see here clicking or pressing on that button once will switch the um screen mode that you're on so these are five different custom screens that I set up I will be showing you how to do that through the app if you hit mode it goes to a different set of screens that you also would be picking from the app for yourself last button is the power button you press this button once to uh turn the device off and on and to reset the entire device which I'll do now so that you can um see the screens reset you would just hold the power button for 8 [Music] seconds and now it's um back to factory reset and ready for you to configure all right so since I'm recording on my phone I'm going to use my iPad to uh show you guys how to do this you're going to want to go to your camera app and then you're going to want to um put it over that QR code and then you'll get a link like this and that will take you to the app that you want to download it's D Voom pixelr editor this is in the Google Play store but I just searched for it in the App Store and downloaded it myself this is the app that we're looking for I'll give you a good look at it deom all right I just went ahead and connected my times gate to my iPad through the app you do have to hold on the power button for 10 seconds to get into pairing mode it does not say that in the manual but I thought I would mention it to make it um easier for you guys all right so this is the homepage of the app and here there are different like widgets and applications and functions for the device I think a lot of these are really cool especially like this [Music] scoreboard now you see the scoreboard up here and you can keep score um um if you're playing a game or anything like that which I think is cool there's also a stopwatch and it should pop up here too and now you can like um time something which I think is really cool you see the countdown there you can reset it so there's a ton of interesting little um functions in here that I really encourage you to um look through you can also um connect your app Apple music or your library to here and listen to music they also have all of these free radio stations which I think are cool I'll play one for you now so there's an example there and you would put the volume up using your device volume it's pretty loud and it's at low volume I don't want to um raise it any higher now as far as customizing you would go to the second Tab and here you have the option to customize each screen I'm going to switch modes so that we can get to that part all right so if you go up here you'll see if you're on this area you can customize all the screens at once kind of do a theme type of thing and then edit each individual one or you can come in this mode here and edit each screen individually as I did and you can create different presets like that the third one here is for adjusting like screen brightness ambient light the color mode here um things like that and now we can go into a little more detail on how to customize each screen like this you would click here to customize the first screen here for the second third fourth and so on so let's click on that first screen here you'll see the different types of galleries there's pixelr normal social Financial these are like little weather gadgets holidays all kinds of stuff like that um game Customs so I had chose a countdown or holiday here anniversary and then I clicked into it where these little three lines are and then I was able to customize a lot more like I was able to change the gifts this is the middle Left Right gift and so on you change that by clicking on it and then searching for a gift I had typed in the search bar Hearts I believe and that's how I found those cute little heart gifts and then you just click the gift that you want or whatever the pixel art the video and I chose these three because I wanted like a love themee because I switched I don't know if you can see the display text it was a Valentine's Day originally and I switched it to days to my anniversary and I put in my anniversary so now that I customized it it looks like that see now it says 14 days to anniversary and it has the little um pixel hearts that I had picked so that's how I customized that one I think it's really cute here are a few others this is just a cat with the time um we have some weather and different things like that in there again if you didn't want to do it that way you can click here and just choose like these preset ones and then you'll have like this cute setup like that where they all kind of go together like a theme sci-fi neon so forth and what you could also do if you didn't want to do like Widgets or things like that is you can go over to the art gallery and you can search for specific art that you might want here instead so I'm going to go ahead and put in the search komaromi because you guys know I really love her so here's a ton of different komaromi art that I could add to the um this clock here so what I'm going to do is say oh instead of topic I'm going to pick artworks CU then we'll see more so say I want to add this cute purple one I'm going to press and hold and then I'll get prompted with a message and here I can choose which screen to project it onto 1 2 3 4 5 I'll pick one and now you'll see it's loaded there I can set this one as two if I wanted and now we have one there so you can do a mix of Art and functional or you can do all art or all functional it's really up to you so I hit mode to switch over to where I had these and it looks like you can also edit these if you wanted to as well like say I feel like the green here doesn't really fit the aesthetic I can add this one there instead and there it is all right that's all for today's video thank you guys so much
