Understanding the raids on Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs’ estates

Federal raids involving hipop Mogul Shawn Diddy comes tonight some new video obtained by TMZ appears to show the inside of comes' La Mansion after those federal agents swarm the home this week and you can see the cabinets the safes left open papers on the ground sources tell ABC News guns were found in both the LA and Miami locations and law enforcement sources tell us the feds are looking for evidence that could corroborate accounts of accusers who have spoken with prosecutors at the southern district of New York the allegation include sex trafficking but col says he is innocent and he will fight to clear his name and joining us now for much more on this is ABC News legal contributor Brian buckmire Brian so we've got the sources they say that among this among what appeared to have been a mess left behind this is often the case with Federal rids uh law enforcement took some computers other electronic devices does that mean anything to you and when do you think if ever we might find out what they took here what it suggests to me is that the allegations that Rodney Jones Jr had in his civil suit are something of a of a playbook for law enforcement because in that lawsuit unlike the other four before that including Cassandra Ventura or otherwise known as Cassie Ronnie Jones says that not only does he have video on his phone but also that sha com supposedly has surveillance and recording videos in his home that could corroborate some of his allegations so it seems like law enforcement took that information as going the next mile now in terms of when we might see it question may be never the question may be during the indictment it all depends on what's on those recordings and how law enforcement decides to proceed going forward it's one thing to conduct this raid to investigate you know try to gather more information it's another thing to make an arrest and file some charges and also you mentioned the Rodney Jones lawsuit he had he had alleged there was a drug mule this man Brendan Paul now Brendan Paul's been taken into custody allegedly had some drugs on him uh in his in his luggage I believe does that mean anything number one in towards corroborating these allegations for the Rodney Jones lawsuit but also just bad news for Sean coms well first and foremost let's say this so legal and standards doesn't get mad with me there seems to be no connection yet but if you look at the civil lawsuit the way that Ronney Jones has photographs of Brendan Paul the Syracuse basketball player that somehow has a connection to Shawn Colmes now he's getting arrested supposedly on his way to sha Colmes his uh air uh aircraft or whatever may be this seems like it could be a bad situation for both Paul and maybe even Shan comes I practice in the southern districts of New York they do not play around and what could happen here is if they're is a connection between Paul and Shan comes they could be leaning on Paul now to try to get more information about if there is in fact an actual connection trying to get that connective tissue between Rodney Jones's allegations in his civil suit calling him a drug meal why he has drugs on him and what this connection is with Sean cones and if there's a connection he could be cutting a deal sooner rather than later or this could be completely separate altogether right I don't think any of us want our home to look like how uh that video looked like after a raid as we've said Can often look like that uh after Federal officials or agents are conducting this kind of an investigation but we know that Sean com's attorney claimed this is an excessive show of force and hostility I believe Shan comes compared it to the military do you make anything of that is this kind of standard procedure it is very standard procedure unfortunately as a former public defender here in New York and also doing some federal cases here uh that's what you typically see they are not kind and polite they don't put your things back uh but in terms of the excessive use of force it's my understanding that one they did find weapons in the home and two they might have been told that there are weapons in the home and when law enforcement gets that information they conduct themsel as such so they're breaking into these homes where they don't know who's there how many weapons are there how large a facility is and so they will show some use of force in terms of their armor and their weapons that they have that's pretty standard when you get information that appears to be related to them in this case and of
