Uncle Jimmy's Dutches

welcome to another episode of cowboy cooking with B Mac and Gary we have a treat for you today we have our father with us today uh we call him pop but he's famous all around South Texas his Uncle Jimmy um we thought today we would show you some of his dutch ovens uh he's got one or two that are special and we thought we'd show them to you so you thought you had some dutch ovens there he is at last count we counted I think what did we decide 32 sitting here and I said on a previous previous videos you've got your spiders which are the ones with the hands with the handles on the side you've got your bells of course self-explanatory with balance and I thought we would just get up and give me the pop to show us a few of his favorite one of them is uh this one is this one here and I have another one but I can't find my lid and I got to find a lid for this 10 inch one okay so this one here so if anybody has I think these are number five so if anybody out there has a number five left without the bottom the contact is please on our Facebook page Cowboy cooking and be Mack and Gary they're they're made everywhere and laundry makes them now the two big ones are large and this one here is large but they don't make spiders and uh I've got some that was made in New Orleans yeah there's a couple of them like this they said New Orleans clearly marked on them uh and they're unusual sizes there's one that's a seven that was made in New Orleans and uh a lot of them have the lifters on them are all made pretty much like this one here but then you have these here like this and uh I got I've got one more out in the truck and I won't bring it in until they get to take it to the camp and cook in it so 33 it's kind of superstition when I get one I gotta cook in it and I'll give I'll give several away and I tell them if they don't cook it and it twice in a year they got to give them back you hear that guys and uh and uh the pot over there let me show them the pot is a railroad part because they becoming a caboose which they don't have on the train no more that's not it Gary that's a new one that's not the Caboose spot we'll find uh but it fits down in the eye of the stove and uh so doctor can can um that way that's it sorry folks we didn't have the right one out does this one have a lid too I don't think I have a lead for it but you wanted to show the bottom of this one it fits down in the eye of a wood stove and and they can cook it if they're going down the track well that makes sense and we do have a wood stove at camp that we could actually use that in a barn but the back back in the middle I'll break it out every now and then people like this gets cooked in it so pop where do you get most of your dutch ovens tell folks where they can find these things [Music] I'm almost there was any big business floor because they always sitting on the floor and we got to love from Warrington to see see them or you all see him you're lying for me so he's saying you know we we pick up a few at antique fairs uh junk shops antique shops um some people know what they've got and they're real proud of them uh we generally don't pay a lot for the Dutch ovens that we buy we we're looking for deals we're not just looking just to buy so uh again junk shops uh antique shops is where you're going to find most of your dutches and and I'm partial to the spiders Dutch oven like Lodge nowadays make everything with a bale on them I am too and a lot of times you'll find these spiders like this and you look on the bottom and you wonder why there's no legs a lot of times when when people finally got wood stoves they would cut these legs off so they could use them on the wood stove so you may find one a spider with a lid like this and you wonder why it's not on legs well look on the bottom and see if they haven't been cut off and this one here is shower it's called a bread oven because you can cook your biscuits in there uh don't take as much heat so what's the smallest one you have this one here and that size is what I think it's a five and what's your biggest one uh and you have 16 3 16 inches I think yeah yeah and then there's one that we realize didn't you special order this one yeah that's not a huge pillow and they put my name on it so it was the company out of Utah this has been several years now we don't even know if it's still in business but if they are I'll put it on I'll put it on the YouTube and link to them if we can I I left uh Thomas Watson had one but it was too heavy for me to pack up when you got something in it this is also special in that it divides so there's a divider inside this one you cook two different uh two different meals at the same time this divider does come out and again that's customized YouTube those and then they went to Lodge into a propane flexion song with propane places got sold out now well The Lodges you can find everywhere you can find them in sporting good stores hardware stores online online but to go look for them yeah but we will again Dad said we don't really like the spiders because you find all sorts of different uh uh different sizes from 11s to sevens thirt we've had 13s now we'll say this it's a it's a rumor out there kind of like the Unicorn if there's a 20 inch Dutch oven probably buried in the hills of California somewhere but if anybody ever sees a 20 inch Dutch oven please contact us because we'd love to see it and actually we'd love to have it so it's out there please I've read about it but the only one for Dutch oven I don't want is the one that was in Donna probably kind of like it's still around I I think read something that is still around but I don't want it it I think it amuse them now and that's where it'll stay and yeah anything else you want to say before we no I don't guess I uh you heard your mama a while ago say I couldn't buy no more well we'll see about that so uh got nothing else to say Eric and like I always say y'all keep the
