MJ wanted this to be the next single after You Rock My World and to make a music video for it but Sony was playing games with him at the time. MJ ended up putting the song on "The Ultimate Collection" a few years later so the song could at least get more recognition. You can tell he really liked this song. I think its a great song and opener to the album as well, and prob one of his most underrated tracks (along with most of the album).
I love the first 3 tracks in Invincible - absolute bangers and still sound modern day to this day.
I think Invincible is a cool album, with MJ experimenting with more modern electronic sounds and a different style of mixing. I do feel though that most of the songs are over-produced.
Oh and nobody gunna talk about Biggieโs part in this? MJ included Biggie (the lyrics from Shaquille OโNealโs Canโt Stop The Reign) as a sort of tribute to Biggie after he died in โ97
Somewhere there's an interview of mj saying this is his favourite / most personal song from invincible. I'd say it's lyrically one of his more powerful songs, although I can't help feeling that it is slightly over processed at times.
This album is ridiculously underrated! Itโs such a good album. I remember hearing 2000 watts for the first time and i was like โ what the hell this is so good but who the f is singing the songโ super interesting what Michale did with his voice there
It's awesome! I love how he faces everyone who harasses him, expressing he will never be beaten despite all the allegations and the trashy media.
Tbh it's one of my favorite songs. It's in my top 10 definitely.
THIS SONG IS MY JAMMMM
Very very similar beat to Biggie's "Unbelievable".
