Unboxing an Entire Brick of Dungeons and Dragons Icons of the Realms Waterdeep: Dragon Heist Minis

if there's one thing that I can't have enough of it's it's not dice it's miniatures I love miniatures I used to be a huge Dungeons & Dragons miniature player back in the day I was ranked and DCI numbers and all that stuff so when the new icons of the realm set started coming out by Wiz Kids I pretty much gobbled them up well turns out I kind of mentioned this over to miniature Market and they sent me something pretty cool so today we're gonna be opening up an entire booster brick of the new dragon heist Waterdeep icons of the realm sets by Wiz Kids let's jump into this thing so as we can see we've got some figures over here some figures over here we've got an entire brick laid out for us for the new icons of the realm Waterdeep dragon heist pre painted minis and of course we the infamous Jarl Axl whom I would love to open let's crack open the first box alright so inside each of these you're gonna get four different minis and I believe one of them is going to at least be a rare I think that's kind of how they set this up here so let's take a look at our first big large mini as we crack into this bad boy Wow look at this thing we have the Penta drone okay so we have the Penta drone alright excellent we're going to also open up the [Music] slithering tracker oh look at this guy look at this guy here this must be a water Damien Noble which he is it's one of the many nobles included in this set and we have mert alright and with that that is box one so a couple of really cool noble looking figures we have some awesome monsters for our NPC or our players to fight and of course we have the Pinta drone which I'm really really excited about that is a very cool and unique piece that I do not have anything like so that is box 1 this will be box number 2 all right so let's take a look at our first many here we picked up a fantastic mini that I was really really hoping to get the Griffin cavalry and that is super super cool absolutely love this mini wonderful pick up we picked up the animated door which will be a ton of fun to throw at the players got a cool mini for that we picked up a guard here we picked up a city Watchmen you can never have too many of the city watch or guards or anything along those lines so that's perfect and then finally our fourth mini in this set is going to be levar Glee I'm definitely pronouncing that wrong the VAR guile it looks like a vampire and a gargoyle so it's the varga oil and I'm definitely definitely pronouncing that wrong there's no way that I'm pronouncing that right but that's okay that doesn't matter let's open up box number three looks like we're gonna have another city watch which is awesome I'm actually very pleased with that I have a very very similar mini to that previously it looks like a Darkling I think which we'll look at here in a second and oh wow what a killer freakin mini that is an awesome awesome awesome pool we pulled one of the pit fiends from this thing this box was excellent very happy with this box always happy to have more city guards city watchmen we got an excellent monster and of course we picked up a noble another version of the noble this one is just a simple merchant which will be a great NPC on the table especially for city scenes and then of course we picked up the darkling this is funny this is interesting to me because this darkling looks very similar to a Darkling that they printed with not Wizkid's but was previously printed by dungeons dragons for D&D mini so really cool set there as well and with that we're moving on to box number four okay so let's crack this bad boy open one there one there and let's open this thing up all right so right off the bat looks like we have an a shield guardian I was gonna say an iron golem but of course a shield guardian makes more sense he is beautiful and stunning very cool we're also gonna pick up a few smaller minis as we know Oh looks like we got Oh awesome very happy with this mini swarm of rats swarm of rats so this is a specifically a cranium rat swarm but obviously that mini will be good whenever and wherever I have a swarm of rats no problem my players won't care the difference they'll be freaking out regardless we picked up a really awesome PC slash NPC here with the let's see if I can read that that is rain are never member okay I yeah this is one of the main piece or NPCs from the book and then of course we've got one more mini to open up here we have looks like a cleric or something along those lines oh we have an apprentice wizard which will make for a great PC as well this does not seem to be terribly gender specific and this could this could work very well for maybe a cleric maybe a wizard male or female excellent excellent mini to add to the collection all right we're moving along quickly all right guys let's crack open box number five oh who doesn't want more bears now this is probably one of the more boring pools from this set I'm gonna be honest with you but I mean we've already scored big a couple of times so what can you expect besides bears always make for a great encounter we've got an excellent brown bear right there next up on the list is looks like another wizard and this is another apprentice wizard this looks almost identical to the previous one and I'll show off the stance here so we have apprentice one wizard apprentice one versus apprentice wizard number two so very very similar very cool stances almost identical in the back excellent excellent pick excellent pool all right and looks like we've got another one of these things that I cannot pronounce to save my life this is a var Goyal Varg leg of argyll a alright so we've got another Fargo Lane right there this has not been a necessarily a massively successful box but that's alright and then we have some sort of a fighter or a monk we have a human son soul monk so we've got a monk right there this is really cool because I like the long hair in the back and I'll be showing highlights of these as we move forward but this is super super cool as well box number six all right another normal animal nothing spectacular common piece here I'm pretty sure the lines are common they might be an uncommon but interesting piece don't have anything like this so I mean can't be the worst pool for it I actually don't have this monster already may or may not make it into a game let's take a look at the other pieces we got oh fantastic we've got a dragon born draconic sorcerer this is a killer amazing wonderful piece look at this thing this thing is awesome this thing is fantastic man absolutely beautiful very very happy with that pool and we've got another really cool PC slash NPC going on here with the son elf arcane cleric so we've got lots of options for my players moving forward and I'm gonna heat these minis for ages and ages and ages probably through six addition maybe even through seventh edition so all of this these will be wonderful and used at my table for years to come and it looks like we picked up another darkling so Oh actually you know what yeah let me make sure this is the dark line yeah we picked up another darkling here so I think what the darkling I already have from my old school minis this will add this will be a nice little collection maybe I have a maybe my players had a Darkling encounter coming in their future all right just two more boxes left let's crack open box number seven all right give me something good here give me something good oh I know what this is immediately this is one of my favorite monsters this is a hag and this very specifically it's not the green hag this is the infamous anise hag and she is absolutely gargantuan which I love so for scale right there you can see how absolutely big she is and domineering she'll be I love the wicked yellow transparent plastic that they've included whoever painted this for them on the line did a wonderful job this looks very very well done very very happy with this mini all right let's take a look at our last few minutes here oh we're getting some kind of a well we have mansion which again will be from the books she is halt he or she which I actually I don't remember off top my head is holding a small dragon familiar and this mini looks absolutely wicked so if you're playing dragon heist Waterdeep this would be a great mini but I'll be very candid with you this mini is beautiful regardless last two men ease of the set we've got some sort of a guard watch let's take a look at it another city guard a different version very very stoic and cool make great standing in front of doorways will give players a little sense of something different from the standard I have a sword and shield or a club type vibe going on love that very usable mini there and oh who is this who is this look at this look at this look at the spy this thing is fantastic look at this spy it is amazing it is absolutely phenomenal love this I mean this looks wicked my players this is gonna make for a great villain I could make it for a regular thug but man this will make for one hell of a villain at the table so excellent excellent box there could not be happier with that Anna's hag mansion City Guard and a spy and finally we are on to our last box alright let's crack this bad boy open boom and boom oh we got another animal okay so not the coolest or most exciting again a crocodile kind of like the lion that'll be nice to have I don't have anything like that so it'll be fun to throw out there for my players maybe I'll throw that include that in a random encounter with something else that's going on maybe like a troller in the middle of a troll fight or something along those lines we also picked up the human warlock of the fiend and this mini is sick absolutely absolutely love it what a wonderful mini this thing will be we'll get lots of use on the table I promise that'll get lots of use we grabbed another city guard and a different variant which is nice so you don't have too many of the same things to give your players a sense a feel at the table excellent pool there and finally our final and last mini for the entire unboxing today how fitting is that this is der Han which could also first off very cool mini very cool mini to pool but also could be many many different things at the table and would be great in a bar scene with my players although I might just have to make this an NPC they find out in the woods because that is just as interesting alright guys and with that that concludes our icons of the realm Waterdeep whole brick like I usually do they're like 95 dollars for an entire brick of these things which brings the cost down so significantly you get free shipping at $100 and I don't pay any tax here in Texas so I definitely definitely recommend going to miniature market I have yet to find any place Amazon any competitors local gaming store whatever that has these things cheaper than miniature market
