[Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] hey guys so I'm here at the tail end of a 32 hundred mile 20-day adventure on my KTM 350 and I thought I'd just do a quick video of what I pack and how I pack it I've learned a lot from people that have made videos like this my buddy Juan brown on the Blanc Illyrio Channel it's done video is about what he packs and then of course the Moscow moto people have done quite a few videos about what they pack so I thought I'd just do mine I'm here at Navarro State Beach there's the Pacific Ocean back there maybe you can hear it in the distance this is just south of Fort Bragg in California so I'm single handing this and so we'll just see how it goes so there's the bike it's a let's see Kate 2015 KTM 350 exc F and as I said I just just finishing up a 20-day adventurer I had the bike trucked out to I live in San Francisco I had the bike truck to Trinidad Colorado I flew to Pueblo and then got down to Trinidad picked the bike up and I've driven it back across Colorado Utah Nevada Oregon and now California and did quite a bit of the TAT the GPS Kevin trails and then the rim rocker a bunch of stuff in Moab and a few trails here and there so the bike has been amazing it's a plate of dirt bikes so this is sort of what it was made to do go on asphalt hit trails to track if I can't I'll try to splice in some video of the trip along the way I had you know hundreds of miles of to track some single track here and there a great time in Moab and so yeah the bikes has been been awesome it's been a bit adventure eyes let's see how we do this yeah it's so it's got the four point to a gallon tank it's got a little Baja works fairing to help with the wind it's got 40 1448 gearing which is good on single track and also on the highway but yeah why don't I switch the camera around and I'll talk about the what I pack and where I pack it okay so I carry a total of seven bags on this bike again this is a 2015 KTM 350 exc F and the first bag is the one I'm wearing that's this guy that's a kreega r15 backpack and I can show what I carrying that the next one is this little front fender bag then there's a giant loop tank bag the three standard Moscow moto r40 bag so that's two dry bags and then the Stinger eight not the Stinger 22 the Stinger eight standard Stinger eight so that's one two three four five six and the seventh is this little tail bag I had made right here that fits in under the rear fender and that has a bunch of tools and I can show what's in that so seven bags and yeah when I walked through what's what's in each one okay here's the front fender bag that's a pretty standard front fender bag I can't remember who makes it I think I might beat tusk I'm not sure though but again pretty typical what I've got in here is let's see I've got a tire air gauge I've got a little resign mini hand pump a couple of pronghorn or wale straps and then a couple of theis traps and then a 121 inch inner tube I've read that a 21 inch tube can work in an 18 inch rear tire and so you only need to pack one so that's what I do I just have the 21 inch inner tube okay here's the tank bag a giant loop I think it's the Fandango maybe the Diablo I think it's Fandango anyway so a couple maps some blistex ear plugs nothing crazy in here have a few some rain over gloves those have been useful today it's been raining a lot let's see headlamp knife whistle oh I've got a bottled water some snacks a rag this is a GoPro session mount GoPro session in a mount a 3d printed and so that bolts right to the visor of my Arai XD for helmet for video I've got my of course my human gear duo the best utensil ever made but I'm biased I own the company by the way that's why I'm biased biased some energy drink stuff earplugs yeah that's basically a sharpie that's basically what's in the tank bag okay here's the backpack it's again a kreega ar-15 having here this is my little tech bag I've got a bunch of cords I've got a little solar silver battery to recharge my GPS or my phone if I need to again bunch of cables collapsible Cup sea2summit snacks camp meal half-eaten camp meal I've got a extra cameo this is my med kit it's a bunch of bandages pills just a basic med kit put together and then there's a three liter water bladder which is quite a bit and then there's this one really one other pocket here I have a garment inReach communicator athletic tape for blisters ibuprofen of course spare batteries for the GPS these are in go tubs the best little dry containers made also by human gear try not to turn this into a commercial reading glasses this is my katadyn be free water filter you should look it up yet katadyn ka ta Dyn katadyn be free it's a collapsible bottle and then this is a filter unit so you can pretty much fill up anywhere we can get filtered water and pull the paper honey stingers I've got a tow rope I think it's 12 feet of tubular half inch tubular webbing some turkey tent poles there are tent stakes I've got my little MSR camp towel this is the only towel I have it's about the size of a dish towel but it dries out quickly and that's it so that's everything in the ar-15 okay here's the rear fender bag I don't think I'm going to take it out and unload it but I will try to put up a photo of what's in there the contents are a trail stand four tire changes a spare spark plug spark plug tool a tube of quick steel and there hemostats and I think a little dot 5.1 fluid so that's all fits in the rear fender bag I've made this bag myself from truck tarp vinyl and cut it and used rubber cement to glue it up okay so here's my reckless 40 setup this is how I exactly how I've been driving with it I just pulled off the road and showing you how it how it how it looks as I go so it's the standard dry bags the Stinger eight in the center I have these Keene sandals that are attached with the outer clips and then I do pack a one and a half liter it's a collapsible water bottle by ever new and that just goes right in the beaver tail here and let's see in this side pocket is my inside pockets my tool roll other secondary bag with a few bins and I can show it's in those later and then on this guy on this one I just have a it's a folding pole so that clicks together sorry for the one handing but that clicks together it's a hiking pole trekking pole but I use it for my tent and then I also carry this therm-a-rest it's the thermo szc this has been great it's a great to turn up any log or stone into a semi comfortable padded seat it's also nice as a sort of a changing mat you can put it outside your tent and stand on it it can be used to fan the flames of a fire so yeah it weighs very little and so yeah I have the pole and this is everything in those two tool bags on the right hand side of the reckless 40 tools are obviously personal preference also bike specific but I'll try to quickly go through what I have these are some filter skins pre-oiled skins that go over the air filter so I can get some more mileage between air filter cleanings valve stem threading tool when you're to help you get the tube in have a soak it expedition sewing kit which is very useful and I would recommend I definitely used it on this trip to repair some stuff I have a Leatherman crunch and then a bunch of shorty shorty wrenches this is my bag of sockets and nut drivers of this where a wrench this is a really great little wrench model it's the eight thousand a thirty five hundred really great little wrench this is the extender for it I use these I think these are motion Pro tire irons and then combination wrenches for the wheel actual bolts another air pressure gauge I have the rear shock adjustment tool probably don't you need that every ride but I was going to be adjusting the SAG on different days depending upon whether I was carrying all the gear not so I brought that these night pecks pliers are awesome this is the 86 zero three 150 really great set of pliers and I would highly recommend them they they're way better than a crescent wrench they had they have parallel engagement and so they double as a pair of pliers I've also seen them used as a like a press to press a pin into a chain link see some bail ray water waterproof grease Sharpie a little bit cord thread Locker I like using thread Locker as much as I can to keep things from coming loose tire patch kit silicone rescue tape this stuff is awesome waterproof we fuel proof airtight you can use this to repair lots of things so a silicone rescue tape these are some little garden they're called garden plant ties that are useful it's kind of like velcro that can attach to itself and those are good for bundling up excess straps bags and then there's this little mini bag this has this is a capacitor that's necessary if the battery dies you do need this to get the bike going again even with a kick starter you need this tube a quick steel which has been useful for quick repairs of things I have a bunch of nuts and bolts fuel filters and then let's see yeah bits and pieces and these are in human gear boat tub containers more bits and pieces I have to master links here some hose clamps cotterpin a couple of couple more bits and pieces but so all this goes in this guy and then all of that that's most of the tools I carry them there's that orange bag the fender bag that has the other things I mentioned here's this thing great bag I can try to show you what I've got this guy the velcro is always a bit of a pain so excuse me okay so here's the Stinger eight let's see I've got a ever new titanium cook pot inside that I have this has my stove and then the the fuel canister itself and then Hot Lips you can put this on your pot and turn it into a mug so that's my cook set up this red bag is this coffee stuff couple tubs of instant coffee creamer sugar some bug repellent that's my night guard so this is a soul EBV this has saved me more than one so I don't think I'll travel without one now it's just really good to have something to you know in an emergency to stay somewhat warm ish NeoAir this is my little air pillow little bag and then the last thing is this is a Z packs soul Plex 10 I won't take it out but it's you can look it up so Plex it uses the one pole that I showed you before it actually usually uses two I only use one and then I try to tie off the other side either to the bike or to a tree or something so it's very light and packs very small I think it's 14 ounces or something so that's everything that's in the stinger 8 ok so the last two bags are the two dry bags and show you what I got okay okay so that dry bag has these these three things you normally has a little bit more I have a climb inversion jacket and then a who makes this Outdoor Research this is like a rain shell so normally if it's not raining those would go in in this dry bag but it's been raining today so I've been wearing both of those things so there's a bit more space in here than normal this is a little Z packs stuff and sorry for all the one hand angle this is how it goes in here I have some thermal underwear long johns tops I have a wool hat and some wool gloves I've used all of these on this trip glasses and then this is a five liter two granite gear bag that has basically all my camp close or town close so it's basically one set of clothes and I would pretty much wear this every night and so let's see they're boxers ex-officer boxers some smart will socks a lightweight button-down shirt I'm just my toiletry kit toothpaste toothbrush etcetera some deodorant to sort of smell normal and have a who makes this I can't remember oh yeah Rab Rab this is stuff I think just doesn't smell even if you don't wash it so that's like a base layer I have a belt lightweight belt and then just a pair of cool k Uhl hiking pants they have the removable bottoms so you can kind of turn these into shorts if you need to but yeah that's basically everything that's in that one dry bag so try to wrap this up this is the last bag this is the second dry bag this is the standard our 40 dry bag sorry for all these harsh shadows hopefully you can see this okay so here's what I got in here this is a thermo rest neo air mattress pack sounds about the size of a San Francisco burrito so that's good this is my emergency pulley system that this weighs about a pound there's a couple titanium pulleys in here some carabiners a bunch of spider line rope but that has saved me more than once it like the SOL II busy so I always pack this now some spare oil chain lube this is my quilt enlightened equipment quilt in a sea2summit compression sack so yeah that's everything that's in the second dry bag okay that's it though that's everything in the everything I'm packing on this trip and sorry for the low video production here but just again thought I'd throw something together pretty quickly just to get give you give you a sense of what I pack and how I'm packing it so hope you enjoyed it and see on the trail [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you [Music] [Applause] [Music]
