ULTIMATE JDM SLEEPER! - 1991 CAMRY ALL-TRAC

[Music] today on combustion chamber we have a car that people in the southern United States don't even know exists a 1991 Toyota Camry all track a four-wheel drive car but this car is the ultimate sleeper let's get after it [Music] welcome back to combustion chamber on today's episode we have an already rare car in 1991 Toyota Camry all track but this is packing extra horsepower with a motor only sold in Japan and it was put originally in a Toyota cab Dina let's talk to the owner for more about this rare sleeper Sammy thank you very much for being on the show today thank you for having me how did you find this Camry all track we were looking for parts for our 1986 mr2 and we came across a prime performance and they had this car up for sale and we just started taking a look at it fell in love with the engine the style of the car and realized that it was a rare car speaking of the engine prime performance made this into a really nice sleeper what engine does it have in it it's a fourth-generation 3s GTE well it's a 260 horsepower turbocharged it was sold in Japan and it was in a Toyota Cal Dena because this car is already rare and a sleeper what kind of reaction do you get when you take it to car shows I get great reaction especially from the men they love the engine in it but nobody believes me that it's an all track so I have to take them and show them it's an all track on the trunk now driving a car like this that's all-wheel drive that has that turbo motor in it how fun is it to drive how quickly does it move oh it does wonderful takes off in an instant and my favorite thing is what I'm looking in the rearview mirror waving why why don't we get this car out on the road okay you got it [Music] so you have a little bit of a reputation for going fast none of that stuff started well but my parents my mom and my daddy when we look in Detroit they grew up and loves to race cars on Woodward Avenue so when my mama was nine months pregnant with me she decided to bring somebody and she beat the tar out of him of the guy was not very happy about it but when she got out cause she was nine months pregnant so you've modified this other than how the car came the wall modifications if you make do it we went ahead we had to the fill system in the hood select via for air we also send the windows and we when I get in and start driving here took a little bit of getting used to yes it is a very heavy racing clutch once I got the feel of the clutch this thing is a rocket I mean it really is and it will take you by surprise I had it doing 125 on the expressway nice in Mexico in Mexico Mexico in Mexico this Camry all tracks might look plain but this thing scoots down the road really really well one of the reasons why I want to start combustion chamber was to tell your stories but also there are so many different types of cars out there that I want to learn about right along with you all and today has been a great learning experience about a car that I didn't even know existed what did you think about this Camry all track let us know the comments section below and if you liked this episode give it a thumbs up tell your friends and for more combustion chamber hit that subscribe button we hope you enjoyed this episode of combustion chamber we want to keep the show independent and about you so please check us out on patreon and for exclusive content and behind-the-scenes features check us out on our social media Instagram Facebook and Twitter the links are below [Music]
