as a drummer, something that i've noticed is that during the 2nd verse, josh's hi-hat pattern is similar to car radio (those quick hi-hat hits before the sizzle)

i think it's p obvious that they're trying for rab/vessel vibes. honestly, i loved trench's dark and atmospheric feel, and was lowkey hoping they would continue down that, but apparently not? not complaining tho, josh's drumming during rab/vessel era was the shit.

i'm not dissing sai vibes, it was just unexpected. can't tell if they genuinely wanna go down that path or are looking for excuses to dish out radio-friendly tunes. the songs are growing on me tho, so fingers crossed,,

Haven’t listened to Top since Blurryface in 2015 but this popped up on my YouTube recommended so I checked it out just because I was curious. Ever since then I’ve been listening to this song as well as Shy Away non stop. Can’t wait for this new album and I’m so excited to go back and listen to their discography now that I’m a fan again 💗 Because I’ve not been here for Trench I don’t understand a lot of fan theories about the album but I’m excited to see what will happen!
