[Music] so since the roosters have decided to come over here and cause some problems with my YouTube video I guess I'll check okay I've got a bit of wind out here uh so we understand that these do not have instructions uh there is a brief instruction uh with uh these types of devices so what this is is this is a tulip wind generator so this is a windmill but it is a vertic windmill uh as you see that base right there at the bottom that sort of looks like a ceiling fan and then you see those two rings and then you see those three wires and then we go over here uh and we see that little box and we see some tools I I'll go into details with that right there but this is the box that it came in uh those two blades were packed together and I'll go into a description on showing everybody how to put one of these together it is possible to put them together yes it is possible now you will need one stump or one pedestal or a base to support this you will be using that end and you'll be that using that end I would suggest put the bolts in the bottom of it uh that way you're not uh causing problems with the wies so the wire can come up through there but I will show you uh that uh if I can hold on to it and allow it to spin I will show you that it does work it is put together and it is functioning so let the wind catch it that's wind power right there so I've got my hand on the top of it we're looking down the barrel of it and we're seeing her spin with wind power so I'll go ahead and cut this off and we'll take uh all of this wonderful apparati into a nice closed space face and I'll give you a few more details on how to put it together so please excuse the wind if it did get to you but I will suggest two milk crates or something with a pointed corner on it possibly a table or a bench uh the Box does have all of this uh in it and uh if you see that container right there is where all your nuts and bolts are at so I'll go show you the nuts and bolts here so you will have a total of acorns uh and you'll have these types of nuts as well and you'll have one washer I ended up with a washer left over and then you also have the separating rods so these are your spacers these spacers will go from here to here uh you have another set of nuts and you have a set of washers and you have a full set of acorns this does go together it can go together but I can honestly tell you you're going to have to have freakishly strong hands in order to do this uh but hopefully if you have ovaries of Steel uh we can get through this so I'll take you into a bit of a better place and I'll give you a description of it tonight I'll let you sleep on it do some research if you want to go this route and then tomorrow whenever I have a fresh back I will take this thing completely apart and I will show you step by step how to put the blades on a tulip window Mill this is a vertical windmill you see the two sandwiching plates at the bottom and you have four bolts so it goes washer washer lock washer nut so bolt washer washer lock washer nut now what that does is that pinches that on here so this locks it all together and you'll put whatever you're sandwiching this in between in between these right here so you have a flange and another flange these three wires are not too too complicated I'll go into the details of how to wire this together because that is a three-phase motor and it does have a brake the tools that I am going to suggest is a 13 mm wrench I have the ratcheting style wrench it sort of helps with the long bolts that you're going to be dealing with uh if you don't have asbest hands or hands made of leather uh you might want to get some nice gloves because you will be spending these rods and you'll be utilizing these acorn nuts uh I had to use a screwdriver or you can use your thumbs because you're going to have to bend these tabs in so you need to make sure you're available for that this is a three-phase so these three electrical wires right here will connect the three wires coming out the bottom this is your negative wire to your battery and this is the positive wire to your battery this comes with a 12 24 volt waterproof controller of wind generator so I'll go into the details uh with the video tomorrow but no it does not give you detailed instructions all right so now that we're indoors I'm going to explain the three-phase wire system in here you have coils and you have magnets so each time the magnet goes over to top the coil the coil will pick up the energized field from the magnet and it'll send that energy polarity down that wire so energy follows energy so then you'll have negative positive negative positive or positive negative Nega positive negative depending on the polarity now there's some information on the back of this right here we'll get into some more details about that when I show the assembly this is a 400 watt unit uh this is a 12vt 400 Volt or 400 watt I think it's 400 Volt or 400 watt hold on up let's see if I can turn this with one hand without without destroying everything well that was certainly a eventful now wasn't it so back at what we're talking about here this is a 400 watt unit its voltage is 12v it also has wind speed so when it does the wind speed it uh will set a brake uh so this has a braking unit on it so it has a number of two blades it says wheel diameter it says IP grade which is a ip65 weight is in kilog and then we have the production date which is 23 this is a three-phase wind generator so this is a DC C 400 W 12v so let me explain the three phase before we had the catastrophes over here so what we have is we have magnets and we have coils so this is exactly almost exactly the same as your ceiling fan only we're not putting power into it we're using the wind to turn it and then it's coils are picking up the magnetic field from the magnets and then it's phasing out in a three-phase situation I'm not going to go into details we're not getting into rocket science you don't need rocket science for this this is a simple wiring situation uh we understand that a lot of people complicate things but let's take a look at this we have a black wire we have a red wire we have three green wires and we have three red wires okay so if you read this right here it literally says waterproof charge controller of wind generator it says rated battery voltage 12v 24 volt it says wind generator breaker voltage 14.5 Vol to 29 wind generator recover voltage 13.2 Vol 26 to 20.4 volts and then it says IP production level is a IP 67 okay so this is an ip65 and this is an IP67 all right so now we're going to take a look at that diagram right there and if you see that little box that looks like your battery where there's a ground wire that comes off of it then there's a then there's a positive wire that comes off of it and we see where that positive wire is connected to the battery and then we have we have these lights so this says breake I think this says charge and the other one says battery so they're not that quite interesting so we have 1 2 3 four five wires okay so so let me let me get that down there hopefully we can take the glare off that so there's four wires on that side so there's 1 2 three and then that wire is separated that one goes to the battery and then there's this one is separated so that one goes to the battery we got a positive there and we have a negative there so down here we have the black wire which is your negative okay and then we have a red wire which is your positive okay so these two wires right here are going to go to your battery Okay negative positive it it has a wire diagram now we have the three-phase motor which is right here so these three wires are going to connect to these three wires and I'll bring you back after I connect the wires because I cannot do things with one hand I need two okay so now what I've done is I've taken these green wires and I've connected them to the red wires okay now there's a reason behind that all right so I have not connected the red wire and I have not connected this wire but the way this thing is set up and the way this moves is because this is a DC generator these three wires go to these three wires okay you're going to have to waterproof these wires and you'll have to extend these wires in the length that you need to extend them to for the purpose that you're going to use them if you do not feel comfortable with what you're looking at right here so I've connected these three wires right here from the generator to the charge controller and then you're going to have your output right here okay so this is your output to your battery so this is your positive and then it flows to the negative okay so now we have a big circle all right so so if I have a battery connected so the positive charge is going to come out of this okay and then it's going to go into this and then the positive charge is going to go to this and then it'll go to your battery and then it'll come from your battery to your negative wire okay so then it'll go from your negative wire and then go into your system okay so these two R wires right here are going to connect to your battery okay positive and negative remember this positive is in and negative is out the Earth does the same thing the ground is the out and the positive is the in the in all right so we have an input right here that goes into here and then we have the power that then goes to this and then we have the ground that goes to this so I'm going to say these are going to be basically if you say your outputs to your battery and these are going to be your inputs from your generator but if you don't feel comfortable with this please hire an electrician or something somebody who has experience with what they're doing that is a 3phase wire hookup for a generator now this is a DC system so everything is in a loop okay so your battery it think of it this way it comes out of your generator it goes into your charge controller it comes out of your charge controller goes into your battery and then it goes from your battery back into the charge controller okay so think of it like that okay so it comes out it goes in and then it goes out to the battery and then it goes from the battery back into the unit so then we have a circular loop system okay so if that just complicated here if there's some sort of debate about what I just said right there so this is not an AC system but they all work exactly the same the power has to go into it and the power has to come out of it you can't put Power into something because the power needs to go somewhere so power is like water okay so if you take a container and you start filling it up with water what's going to happen whenever the water fills up the container it starts spilling out so it has to come out of it okay so we'll we'll we'll get into the details a bit further with the rest of this but there's the wiring system and there's the wiring setup for this unit all right now I've got you in my toolbox here so what this is called is this is called a digital multimeter okay this is how you test current this is how you test test ohms this is how you test voltage so there's your ohm there's your volts there's your amps here's your battery you have a switch right here that says AC and it says DC and then you have other types of switches so you have power and lights for this system is a 12v system so you have a 12v right there okay so you take that and you switch it to 12 Vols and you'll get zeros across the top of this now whenever you take these probes and you put this one to the red wire that goes to the battery and you put this one to the black wire that goes to the battery this is going to read a voltage when you spin the generator okay now we also have volts so this goes up to 300 volts but that wind generator the Tulip generator goes to 400 volt so you have to be careful because you can overload this now I have a temperature on this and I also have a ground on this also so you can test to see if you have a ground with your DC system now we need to look down here at the bottom where it says fused it says 200 milliamps to 300 volts and then it says 300 volts Max and then we go to this side it says 10 Amp Max for 10 second for every 15 minutes now what you you want to do is you want to put the black to the Comm okay now we're over here it says ohms volts and milliamps and temperature okay so 300 volts that's the key so you want to put the red connector over here on this side and this is fused okay you don't want to put it over here that's just for 10 amp okay you want to put it over here because you're going to be reading volts and you're going to be using volts so that's how to use an ohms meter I would suggest making sure you have an ohms meter if you are going to do any type of electrical and I'm also going to suggest to make sure you have gloves when you're handling anything metal because you can cut your hands okay eye protection if you feel you need eye protection for this type of situation go ahead and use eye protection you will be putting these blades up against your body you will be bending these things and you will be doing all kinds of interesting things that you didn't think you could do before but as stated before with this generator you're going to need to use your hand strength or you'll have to use some sort of soft rubber mallet I'll get into that tomorrow
