BY THE END OF THE DAY. >>> THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE IN THE SOUTH BAY TODAY. KIDS COOLING OFF IN THE MOUNTAINS. HOPING TO BEAT THE HEAT. PAUL, UP HERE IN SAN FRANCISCO, IT WAS SO STRANGE TO ACTUALLY GO ON A WALK AND NOT NEED ANY KIND OF SWEATER OR JACKET. IT WAS WARM AND GORGEOUS. IT WAS VERY WARM INLAND, BUT JUST SO STRANGE IN SAN FRANCISCO, NOT TO BE COOL AT ALL. >> RIGHT. I MEAN WE WOULD HAVE SUCH WARM TEMPERATURES ACROSS MOST OF THE BAY AREA TODAY. NOW IT'S TEMPORARY U, CLOSE TO THE WATER. WE WILL SEE THEM AGAIN TOMORROW. BUT EVERYBODY WILL COAST BACK TO NEAR AVERAGE TOWARDS THE END OF THE WORKWEEK. JUST SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO FURTHER DOWN THE LINE. IT WILL BE HOT INLAND THROUGH TOMORROW AND STILL VERY WARM THROUGH THURSDAY. BUT THE PEEK OF THE HEAT IS REALLY GOING TO OCCUR TOMORROW. AS THE DOME SHIFTS FARTHER AWAY, IT IS STILL GOING TO BE GRIPPING THE DESERT SOUTHWEST. THEY DON'T GET A BREAK OVER THE WEEKEND. BUT THE BREEZE WILL RETURN AND THE WEIGHT OF THE ATMOSPHERE IS DIRECTLY OVER THE BAY AREA WILL-LESS SON AS WE HIT THE END OF THE WORKWEEK, WHICH MEANS OUR TEMPERATURES WILL RETURN CLOSER TO NORMAL. A LOOK AT WHAT THINGS LOOK LIKE OUTSIDE RIGHT NOW. I'M NOT SURE WHAT WE'RE LOOKING AT. BUT HEY, IT IS CERTAINLY BRIGHT. TEMPERATURES IN THE 97-DEGREE RANGE IN SANTA ROSA AND CONCORD. ONLY 72 DOWNTOWN. IF YOU'RE HEADING OUT TO OAKLAND AS THEY HAVE THEIR HOME OPENER THIS EVENING AS YOU MAY HAVE HEARD OVER THE PAST 15, 20 MINUTES OR SO. TEMPERATURES WILL BE IN THE UPPER 70s WITH A WIDE VARIETY OF TEMPERATURES. NEIGHBORHOOD BY NEIGHBORHOOD. NOT JUST IN OAKLAND, BUT SAN FRANCISCO OR ANYWHERE NEAR THE WATER. STEADILY COOLING OFF THROUGH THIS EVENING, BUT WARM ACROSS THE BOARD. TEMPERATURES WILL BE HOT INLAND ONCE AGAIN AS WE TAKE A LOOK AT THAT AND TONIGHT'S FORECAST, THE LOW TEMPERATURES. ARE WE GOING TO LOSE TODAY'S HEAT? THE SHORT ANSWER IS WELL, A LOT OF IT. A FEW SPOTS DIP INTO THE UPPER 50s INCLUDING IN MORGAN HILL DOWN TO 59 DEGREES. THE WARMEST LOCATIONS WILL HOVER AROUND 79 DEGREES IN ANTIOCH AND BRENTWOOD. BUT THE GOOD NEWS IS WHILE IT HAS BEEN HOT INLAND TODAY, THE HEAT IS LARGELY GOING TO RADIATE OFF INTO SPACE AND WHILE THE TEMPERATURES WILL BE A LITTLE BIT ABOVE AVERAGE TOMORROW, THEY WON'T BE REALLY WARM OVERNIGHT. THAT'S REALLY WHEN THE HEAT WILL BECOME DANGEROUS IS WHEN WE DON'T LOSE IT DURING THE NIGHTTIME HOURS BECAUSE THEY WILL WEAR YOU DOWN. BUT THE TEMPERATURES TOMORROW ARE GOING TO RAMP UP VERY QUICKLY THROUGH THE DAY. SO THOSE FORECAST HIGHS FOR TOMORROW AND BACK UP TO TRIPLE DIGIT TERRITORY FAR INLAND FROM FAIRFIELD DOWN TOWARDS BRENTWOOD AND LIVERMORE. AND LOW 90s FOR SAN JOSE. MID-60s ACROSS THE COAST. AND THE LOW 100s, ALL CO-EXISTING HARMONIOUSLY ACROSS THE BAY AREA IN TERMS OF RECORDS, NOT LIKELY TO FALL. AND THAT WILL HAPPEN TOMORROW BECAUSE THE HIGH IS 96. THE RECORD IS 104 AND WELL OFF THE PACE AND THE SAME THING FOR REDWOOD CITY AND OAKLAND AND SAN FRANCISCO. WE ALWAYS HAVE TO BE CONCERNED ABOUT THE FIRE DANGER WITH THIS TYPE OF SET UP. BUT THE LOWEST LEVELS WERE AROUND 15%. THAT'S NOT CRITICALLY LOW AND WE DON'T HAVE THOSE GUSTY OFFSHORE WINDS TO GO ALONG WITH THE HOT TEMPERATURES AND TOMORROW. THE LOWEST HUMIDITY LEVELS ARE ONLY GOING TO BE IN THAT 15% RANGE OR SO. BUT LOOKING FURTHER DOWN THE LINE AFTER WE DO RETURN TO NEAR AVERAGE TEMPERATURES LATE THIS WEEKEND AND INTO THE WEEKEND, BACK TO AN ABOVE TEMPERATURE PATTERN FOR MUCH OF NEXT WEEK IN THE SIX TO TEN-DAY OUTLOOK. IT IS NOT AS STRONG OF A SIGNAL, BUT IT STILL DOES LOOK LIKE JUNE WILL BE A PRETTY TOASTY MONTH OVERALL. SEVEN-DAY FORECAST, SAN FRANCISCO, YOU CAN SEE THEM DROPPING OFF THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. DOWN TO THE MID-60s. THEN BOUNCING BACK TO THE 70s EARLY NEXT WEEK. OAKLAND ALSO DROPS AND THEN RECOVERS BACK TO THE LOW TO MID-70s AS WE HEAD INTO MONDAY AND TUESDAY. AND THEY DO DROP OFF, SO DOES SAN JOSE, BUT STILL ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES ON THURSDAY. THEN WE SETTLE DOWN CLOSER AS WE HEAD THROUGH THE WEEKEND. THE HEAT WILL BE GREATEST INLAND WHERE THEY ARE RETURNING AND IT IS NOT NEARLY AS HOT AS THE CONDITIONS WE'RE GOING TO BE DEALING WITH TOMORROW AND ALONG THE COAST. WHAT HEAT?
