Trying to buy a whole untouched Chevy collection. Nomads, Bel Airs, Novas, Zephyr, Tri-Fives

all right everybody it is was it Thursday morning beautiful Thursday morning it's like 75 and Sunny we've had awesome weather for like two weeks we're getting ready to go to get that 56 Chevy car off of that sign pole I bought in uh Celina Ohio but I've known about this big collection of stuff in Toledo that a buddy put me on to we're going there first there's a ton of stuff it's all from Arizona this guy bought a big collection in Arizona like not sure at least a decade ago maybe longer 20 years I'm not sure it's all really good stuff it's all really dry stuff it is like Arizona and Ohio so we're really excited about that I've been trying to get into this place for a while my buddy had a really hard time getting in there and getting anything bought he was able to do both obviously he got the guy to agree to let me come out try and buy some stuff now so we're taking the two-car trailer in hopes of getting at least one out of this place there's about 30. hopefully I can throw enough money at him to get one bot he's got a lot of parts and stuff too so that'll be fun if we don't get anything so what we towed an extra big trailer to go get one car still gonna have some fun we're gonna have awesome weather it's an easy day because we don't have to be there till like one it's like nine it's a three and a half hour drive there's no urgency we're just gonna cruise on out try to buy some stuff get a good dinner tonight and then tomorrow it's a late start too to get the car down the crane company so I'll start until 10 a.m so it's been a pretty leisurely trip and some good weather so so we can get foreign [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] all right we made it we are in Ohio um we're here to look at buying some cars all of this stuff came out of Arizona it was this gentleman and his father's collection uh dad passed away about six years ago and he has decided to start letting some stuff go so we are here from my other buddy that bought some stuff here and determined there's some stuff for me and then talked to this fella and he was interested in us coming out and seeing what we could put together so we're gonna get walking through here now we're really excited we have a beautiful day and this is a rare opportunity for me because I'm not on a time frame we don't have to be anywhere until 10 a.m tomorrow morning we're only two hours away from doing a 50 56 Chevy off the sign pole so it's going to really take our time here get to know the seller get to know the stuff make more informed purchases that he is up on the stuff this stuff does not like this is not a super bargain it's not an out west auction that this is paying pretty good money for this stuff because it's already came here from Arizona we're gonna get walking through we already you know I have an idea of what we're hopefully gonna get bought but um there's a lot of stuff here let's get walking through we'll show you what we got here [Music] everything [Music] thank you [Music] bright I gotta put my sunglasses back on [Applause] [Music] that will run pretty good four Motors than that uh 350 Chevy from Fresno California that's awesome for 50 now but yeah do you drive this one a little bit a little bit it's scary that's how it is restore it paint it no I bought from Fresno just like this yes okay and then draw it back when his brother got sick oh you drove it back he did he did that's cool so there's always a story well even though it's actually 35 yeah 35 local okay yeah down the street if you have your flashlight but you probably put back that's nice of course I did convertible Hood right here okay if you go back here I have a set of magnesium and also a fuel injection system original for night uh 1960s Corvette okay if you want to take a picture of it okay yeah sure I'm not up on those I'm just letting you know but you might have a buyer and it's like very expensive it's my dad did a 1963 Corvette the motors actually downstairs so Shane put your light over top of this one I can't get my camera to do the flash yeah okay God got it good yep yeah my iPhone just will not flash I like this thing is that something you'd sell yeah I guess I mean it's just okay yeah I think that's cool there's a lot of cool stuff so this you're talking about NOS this is all the brand new Chrome for that Chevelle okay if you want to like like look in or dig in things what are these what's in these crates those are actually wheels for a planter okay interesting the 1970s and 80s it's my dad we were farmers yeah okay yeah so those are weird Wheels because you were talking about New Old Stock yeah yeah so um now I'm showing off right there when's the last time you've seen GM stock 1970 Chevelle only NOS yeah never seen daylight yeah it's probably I don't know maybe 200 bucks 300 bucks and that's the other set for for that car okay what's up said nothing special no K codes or anything like that okay last king code that came through was 10 years ago okay the street was actually California okay almost bought it was a piece awful I got one that we have crank strap together at home okay I guess let's go look at the uh let's go look at the panel all right I love these farm implements like I see such cool stuff when we're out all right so it's like a 55 6 panel got a nice patina I think that's a five uh it is a 55. oh is this a plumbing Truck Yeah gained Plumbing New Mexico that's a cool truck it's got a good look to it gained Plumbing rented and serviced I wonder if you ran as a plumber what's that say water Trio what's that say treatment treatment treaters treaters yeah water treater softeners heaters they usually rot in this panel here but I know that the passenger side of this has got significant rot you get quarters and stuff yeah quarters rocker everything on that side so that makes this a little bit tougher I don't know if I'll be interested in this one just because of that but a super cool truck in the bottoms of the doors are good definitely fixable let's see what else we can get bought maybe we can get this one in now we were just at gas monkey he's like what April no March March right around my birthday we were there I was picking up a trailer near there so we stopped in and I bought a couple pieces off of him just parked stuff cool yeah he's cool he's a good time this piece of property is great you said I was born right up that uh that's awesome I like the stone it was the last person in northwest Ohio really yeah hey Dr Wilson actually delivered me right up there yep so there's nothing there's no more cars up way up high it's all Lumber that's all Lumber okay it's Priceless now yeah the barn Wood's good stuff so I've been restoring this particular property and other properties they had bought all the siding and that's what I actually been doing so all the property used to be this way and now I'm putting the vinyl siding that's priced it that's neat how you could still see that side of the house inside yeah yeah we built this barn and so this is this will be the first one this is the one you want this is the one I want yeah so this is a 55 we've got a handyman wagon this should be a 210. they're really cool it's almost like it's like a poor man's Nomad almost similar this has great color to it it came out of Arizona or New Mexico rather this was a uh it says on the door the land inspector a land surveyor yeah I don't know how to pronounce that art artist Asia New Mexico Artesia art esia Artesia New Mexico does that sound right never been to New Mexico though so this has good color to it it's a really nice green it's a cool car it's got a little damage to it the motor's stuck but I'm hoping that one ends up on the trailer for a bunch of reasons one I I love it too it's close to the door so it's got a ton of cool stuff in here but it's hard to get down to like there's cars all up in this pallet rack but he has to work this jig platform and then have a forklift like move this thing so like my buddy bought the car that was in there rolled it out forklift brought it down spawned it on dollies got it out the door very time consuming very hard it's hot so you know getting stuff off the second floor is not happening today getting anything else besides like there's a 56 Nomad we'll see in a second that's accessible but there's another Zephyr upstairs there's a 57 210 post car there's a 56 post car a 55 post car there's a 55 Chevy pickup small window upstairs kinda I don't want to say in pieces but in in process of being fixed up missing a door there's a big window cab downstairs I'm interested in the blue truck it's a like a 56 3100 all nice matching color that's what we like there's an extra bed this Zephyr here is not for sale it's a 37 got a 56 hard top back here with a really funky cool interior in it mind if we show that John yeah it's a metallic green down in Toledo Ohio super cool metallic green vinyl interior really neat really funky uh in the back what's back there in the corner John that yellow thing Plymouth Station Wagon back in here and what's in front of that up another Plymouth right cornet yeah yeah what year is the Coronet 64 Coronet not our particular flavor so yeah we like these two pieces the truck and the bed and the cab so like these two and the cab in the truck in front of it but today we're primarily looking at the wagon and then we got some parts so I'm actually gonna I'm gonna hop up there and get them tailgates down yeah they would love that I could even go that was very true it's up to you no big deal you got it by the way I got it yeah that was a lot heavier right okay there you go did I miss there's two tailgates in the bed in the cab of this truck you want to sell those not right now okay so we have 55 post car here nice patina no motor it's just a roller made an offer on this one you'll see it's it's a long time from coming downstairs so we've got some time let me show this side of the car so it's all uniform colors it's nice patina on this 55 here let's wash your foot in camera man so it is it's tough to see up here for sure so it's a 56 postcard um in the middle of a restoration it's been primered and looks like some pieces taken off to be replaced and that kind of thing um I don't know if the motors in this one I didn't check because this isn't something like that I would typically Buy oh no motor what do I need to pop this no motor in it what a v8 car is it 57 to 10. an otter Bel Air teal Western car another Arizona or Texas car looks like uh guitar looks like you have to look at a back plate that Plate's pretty bad but um really cool patina just it's got issues um cars got some Rust issues it's missing the interior which is pricey a nice looking car though I mean if you're going to pretend a 57 postcard it's got great color but it's um not you know it's not a Bel Air so a lot of people want to do the Bel Airs and they want to do a hard top so this is a cool car might make an offer on this one we'll see I think we're going to be a little ways apart on this car but it is a cool car definitely a cool car needs glass boxes stuff but hopefully um we can get something done on the wagon downstairs he did the design and I designed This Barn here with those architectural type of stuff so I did all that these are from if you want to do you know check it out these are actually Libby Owens Ford downtown Toledo so I have all kinds of brand new panels they're over there so that's part of our golf course we did a golf uh I'm gonna golf course so um a whole Clubhouse is that all the panels are exactly the same from Libby Owens Ford that's the result we are a glass City yeah get it Glass City Toledo then I custom built that stuff I designed it and then he built you know you're too bad maker okay all right so here here you can see the sided 57 so 57 got a little door damage got a little rust it's still better than almost anything you're gonna find on the East Coast but we've got some issues 56 Nomads this is a really hard car to find it was hit at some point got a replacement front clip but from here back is all original it is a really neat car you do not see Nomads of any ear hardly ever but this is a pretty cool find I love a nomad um this one here I'm not like totally out on it but um I wish it the front clip matched I'd be a lot more into it at the front foot match but come back here and shoot the back get that back lower tailgate is just so good looking the backs of these cars are beautiful everybody loved the nomad so I'm in here cornet five that I like behind it there's that 54 Plymouth 53 54 Plymouth wagon those are really cool in cars too screwed out of here probably see what's going on with the wagon 55. John how much are you thinking on The Nomad anyway [Music] [Applause] what's left of a 57 hardtop she's rough ruff ruff no floors No Quarters rusted up high above the windshield or below the windshield roofs crushed that's tough oops that's tough not something I want to buy it's actually not a 57 that's a 56 which I made a super strong offer on the wagon highest bidder yet on the wagon which he was like yeah you're the highest bidder I mean I beat Everybody by two grand on the wagon and I said you know you want to do this today no I'm like well you know like that was a here now number not a call me in six months number and now I gotta dedicate another eight hours of driving and 300 400 diesel fuel and change time and my time and whatever that's a now number so I'm like that's the truth I can't I'm in it for way more than what I offered them if I have to come back a second time so I'm already at my Max on the car so my number's only going to go down minus whatever it cost me to make this trip if uh if he says no for today so uh we're brought the two-car trailer we're here he's worried about uh getting that out because he has things to do it's only going to take us hustling will Shane helping 30 minutes to get that car to the point that I can get a winch cable on it we can even pop the trailer and go in with the pickup and pull it all the way out here onto the street to pick up it is right out the door it's not going to be hard to get so I I think you know with all these deals a lot of what's Happening Here is uh sentimental value and like I actually like letting go this will only be the second car that came out of this collection so there's definitely some some heart Phillips settlement going on here so which is understandable but um that's why I stepped up on the car it's how you get this stuff bought is to step the numbers up and uh the sentimental value starts to kind of dwindle away when the money gets right so we're gonna give them a couple minutes here we're gonna grab a beverage hang out a shade for a minute and uh you know if we don't get it bought it is what it is I go home with more money and um tons of stuff to buy all the time so me and Shannon are gonna probably hit our Steakhouse and grab a beer and try and find a hotel and we got time to get breakfast in the morning too because the car ain't coming down until 10 a.m so maybe you'll get some editing done yeah [Music] we're gonna throw this stuff in the bed didn't get the deal done on the car um you know I was at fair and then I went to like kind of stupid and it still didn't get the deal done so we're gonna load and go there's an auction down the road here happening in a couple weeks that I'm having a hard time figuring out what's what in the photos I'm going to give them a holler and see if we can't stop them preview that we're way far from the preview date but since I'm out here we're gonna try and do something else productive with that and then you know if we end up at a steakhouse and I just drink six beers and go to sleep at eighth and that's that's fine too so Shane doesn't drink but I'll drink his form it didn't work out um go to the Greyhound if you want oh they quit doing that oh no you got like a 65 pound weight limit you put one tailgate in a book that you get a 65 pound weight limit by the time you pack one of these you're there go right in there we go thank you sir oh shoot one more time John yes thank you sir yes sir yes guys so you can buy two buy two at their auction but you still have to drop it off to get your other car tomorrow oh no this auction's a preview this sale's not going on for a while I just want to know what I'm buying I just can't tell on the photos on the trucks because some of them had repaints yeah yeah all right guys all right guys have a good rest your day guys thank you you're never coming back fortunately he's gonna find out the hard way that uh we should always take somebody's like on site when they're there off or you come with this much equipment money and stuff taking the deal he doesn't understand he wants to oh I just I like to travel to Pittsburgh want you to bring it to Pittsburgh okay you know you know we advertise we'll come out we do our filming and I pay you know higher dollar for stuff because we make the money on the videos now tell me the stuff we don't have a great of a video yeah I mean I'm definitely not coming back there but I knew he was going to be you know kind of difficult to deal with so that's why we tied it into another thing um they were trying to get me to come out here for a while and I refused because my friends were having a really hard time buying stuff so I was like no I'm not not dedicating eight hours of fuel time or whatever to that to that this cost me 45 minutes out of the way today but then four hours there today to buy tailgates I have what do I have 70 or something of those 55 to 66 tailgates and I paid a lot for them to break the ice thinking we're gonna get the car done because I was two grand more than everybody I left them with twenty five hundred dollars more than everybody else before we left and he still said no so is what it is but I ain't coming back tomorrow I was wondering if I might be able to come preview your sale uh like in an hour in an hour or so I'm in the Toledo area now I can head that way if you promised to be there in an hour I'll I'll do it okay let me get your address and I'll tell you an exact time what is it telling me 43 minutes then if you can make it I'll I'll do that okay all right cool yeah um okay yeah what uh what's your address out here okay hello we're just are you driving now as we speak or not yeah yep I just pulled out of uh off the road I was on here yep okay what road this auction it wasn't terribly far from where we were so I decided to call up the auctioneer see if we'd come preview because I was having a hard time online figuring out conditions so of course we found a ton of surprises most of this stuff does have a VIN number which I'm super happy that I came here and looked in person so conditions better than I thought but there's like some total kill shots on this stuff with no vins it doesn't matter if you have a title if you've got no VIN number you're in trouble it's not you shouldn't even buy it um some cool stuff like that for instance that big window cap I was real interested in but there's there's no Vin that you know if you were storing a truck and you have a van you're not supposed to move vintags around there's legal ways to do it if you're doing a restoration you know that has less value this truck is cool but it's just all primer the one Fleet side short bed truck I really like that one's better than I thought that's cool some parts out here some axles and stuff a full frame for a short bed if that trailer goes cheap I'm gonna buy the trailer yes that's it but now I'm tired and I'm ready to go eat and grab a hotel room and figure out where we're going for this evening I'm gonna hop on Facebook trying to see if we can't fill that other slot on the trailer or something because I got jerked around and on the first deal so that's it we're gonna see where else I can spend my money and maybe find a better deal maybe it'll shake out like the Chevelle maybe I'm going to start gold here the next couple hours I hope so but
