accordingly on the next available time slot on the next show or whatever for you guys that are local i do have a couple announcements first one is church this sunday is back to normal normal for us is first service in the sanctuary at 7 um 30. second and third service is out in our outdoor amphitheater at 9 30 and 11 o'clock uh the one thing that's different this sunday is that we're going to offer child care now at first service so for you guys that uh have kids and you want to some like you're braver than me and you want to wake them up at 7 30 and come we have child care so hopefully that blesses you if it fits your schedule um the other thing is we have uh dennis davenport uh teaching this sunday you want to tell them who dennis is dennis is a good friend of mine um he uh actually uh was uh somebody that uh you know he was an older believer when i first got saved in uh he was in ministry uh before i got in so you know we're good friends but um he's also somebody who's discipled me in some areas and he's just a good guy everybody enjoys him every time he comes up so yeah this is not uh because of covid this was planned months ago and it just kind of worked out um where i'm getting over this stuff and get one more week off oh he's a he's like an original calvary guy too right so there's these guys like don mcclure dennis davenport that are the original you know jesus movement guys and when you hang around them they're just deep guys that are really fun and cool to listen to so okay one of the one of the things too is watch the weather so if we're uh if the weather goes south we're going to be inside yeah yeah and we'll post that online facebook and on our website or i shouldn't say website but however the girls do it um they just tell me so i don't know how they tell you yeah all right that's all i got are you ready for some questions yeah that's good all right my first one uh whoops i did this wrong there we go um so this is what it says uh how do you spawn when people say as christians when god doesn't heal us physically we go see doctors we get meds uh how is our mind and mental illness not the same if god doesn't heal my depression or anxiety why wouldn't i go see a doctor and get meds so is that the case pastor steve or is there a difference for christians as far as our physical bodies and our minds going to the doctor yeah one of the one of the things that that you have with the whole subject of mental illness is what is that so when when you're when you're talking about the um the field of psychology psychology is the study of the psyche and the the psyche is speaking about the mind and so when when you're when you again when you're talking about mental illness it's kind of a misnomer because when again when you're when you're thinking about the mind um how does the mind get ill because mind is something that's that's separate from the brain and so that's a that's a whole philosophical thing and um i i think that a lot of times uh labels get put on things that um actually can be a little bit deceptive um i'm not against uh medicine and i'm not against medicine uh for people who are having problems with their brain so for example i had a friend of mine who used to come to a bible study and he was always about five minutes behind on the study and so i'd be teaching and he'd ask a question and everybody else would look at me and look at him like he's weird and the reason is because he's asking a question about something that i said five minutes before and so i pretty quickly figured that out and you know it's just it's just how his brain worked because he fried his brain on drugs and so the guy literally had brain damage and um couldn't function without uh certain types of meds and so that is totally valid uh totally and completely valid um but when you're when you're talking about um the our mental processes and what's happening in our psyche and that kind of stuff that is actually the purview of uh biblical teaching and biblical counseling one of the one of the problems that you have with psychology is that there are all kinds of different schools of psychology and they all pretty much almost all of them do exactly the same thing they blame shift and so the the problem is not me or the way that i react the problem is my environment uh the problem is my parents uh the problem is society uh the problem is uh i have a chemical imbalance uh the problem is always something else and the bible talks about the fact that um we are people who have minds that have that need to be changed uh one of the things that god promises is that when we give our lives to christ not only do we offer up our bodies but we're not to be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds and much of the problem that people have with depression and though and you know anxiety and that kind of stuff is thought life and the way that they they handle problems that are taking place in their life there are a number of people who i've talked to over the years who have every right to be depressed and it's because sometimes it's because of things that have happened to them and they're not handling it necessarily in a correct manner there are times when it's stuff that they've done themselves and they don't want to handle it in a biblical manner and so the the problems keep building up and they have a hard time they have a hard life and if i had a hard time and i had a hard life i would be depressed too and so you know again when you when you're looking at a lot of this stuff the bible teaches that we're sinners and that sin can be repented of it can be turned away from and that um god gives joy and so that is is one of those things that we need to be paying attention to let me let me give you a verse this is out of uh colossians let me let me get there this is in colossians chapter 2 and it says in verse 8 and it says this beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit according to the tradition of men according to the basic principles of the world and not according to christ for in him dwells all the fullness of the godhead bodily and you are complete in him who is the head of all principality and power and so even back in the first century you know paul knew that there was vain philosophy and that there were things that people were going to be teaching that were antithetical to the the things that scripture teaches and again one of the one of the basics when you're when you're talking about psychology is that psychology almost never points to the person themselves as far as uh holding them responsible for the things that they're doing their life again it's a blame shifting thing somebody else did it to me and and so i can go on in my life guilt-free because uh you know it's somebody else's fault and that doesn't fix anything uh on the other hand uh god points directly to the problem and usually that is something that's gonna take and uh turn things around um as far as the as far as the meds go i mentioned uh chemical imbalances that is a view that is starting to lose um support uh in in the psychological fields there are um psychologists and psychiatrists who are realizing um that that is not actually the case in fact most you you can't figure out if you have a chemical imbalance unless you actually cut your brain open and test the chemicals and so you don't you don't find a chemical imbalance by taking a you know a little oral test that's not going to show you a chemical imbalance one of the things that you have with a lot of these chemicals too not a lot of these uh medicines is that they do give you a chemical imbalance uh especially ssris and so uh they they change your brain chemistry and so um if you didn't have a uh if you did didn't have a chemical imbalance before you started taking them you do after that's why they can be so dangerous uh to stop cold turkey and you know every time i talk about this subject um i i tell people this if you're on uh uh medicine uh for depression or for anxiety and that kind of stuff you don't just go out and throw it away uh because your your your brain chemistry has been altered and it can cause you real problems in in fact every suicide that i have ever done a funeral for every single one since uh this is since the 90s every single one was somebody that was on these medications and stopped it suddenly and so it's a very dangerous thing just to stop these things they kind of get passed out like candy and again with any med you got to be careful about it the bible has answers to these things and so what you want is a good counselor now i said a couple of different times that psychology uh for the most part is a blame shifting game there are good psychologists who hold people accountable and so uh the the council you get is only as good as a counselor that's giving it and and so it needs to be somebody who has a biblical worldview a biblical worldview not a worldly worldview and uh if they've got a biblical worldview then they're going to come at it from the point of view of what god has to say and the answers that god has for you um there is no teaching in the bible that everybody goes through life with complete and endless joy every single day in fact if you've ever read the book of psalms that's pretty easily refuted david david had bad days and you see him working those things out with his relationship with god and turning towards him and you see the victory that he's get that he gets sometimes even in the midst of the song he's writing the psalm and by the time he gets to the end it goes from total abject misery to complete joy and a trust in the lord and so you know what you want is a good biblical counselor somebody who will tell you the truth and uh somebody who can who can work through those things that's just a short version you know i could go on for hours yeah about how to handle this stuff there's no there's no way to give it to you and uh you know what a quick answer yeah so when i start counseling here that's the two things i notice is number one you'd have people coming and the first thing you do is establish where they have with the lord you know and uh they would say well i went and saw the psychologist or this worldly counselor however you want to define them and they don't have the access to anything in the spiritual realm so like j.e adams pointed out is it sickness or sin well they don't have any remedy for sin because there's no forgiveness and everything that comes with christ so they're limiting it to their mental stuff when um the majority of problems when depression anxiety and everything is a spiritual issue right and then the second thing that i notice is that people come in and it's like well i went to this christian counselor and you would unpack what the person told them and even in their words they're like i don't it just didn't work it doesn't seem right and it's like the christian counselor told him something that was completely unbiblical right like well where did he come did he give you verses like where did he come that's totally wrong right that's not what the bible says and they were like super bummed because the christian counselor didn't lead them in the word of god and so then i started to figure out in the church we've deviated from biblical counseling and kind of pawned it off to the world and well i'm not i'm not uh trained professionally so i can't help you and it's left this void of true biblical counselors that just go to the word of god yeah one of the things uh um actually this happened i believe it was back in the 90s heard about a actually was a it was a conference for psychologists and they came out with a a paper basically stating that if you want to get over the problem the problems that you have in your in your life that friends are better than counselors who are better than psychologists who are better than psychiatrists and and so if you just have a you know a normal life where you have close personal relationships where somebody will actually tell you the truth about what's going on a lot of times that's better than going to a therapist you meaning the people they tracked got better just talking to their friends than actually and seeing the psychiatrist yeah i believe it and some of that may be anecdotal in the sense that um you know a lot of times when by the time you get to a psychiatrist you can be so far gone in issues that um you know that's that's usually kind of the last stop and so i can see that with those guys but uh again you know there are biblical answers to these issues and and uh there are places that you can go okay uh same kind of topic actually i'm going to read uh i don't have enough room for it on there but um okay seems like so many young people come at the issues in church or the world from an emotional view instead of a biblical view an example would be let the holy spirit do its job convincing people and just love people so i talked to this person beforehand and the question goes hey my friend has a problem i'm just going to love them i'm going to wrap my arms around them show them that i care i'm not gonna point things out or make them uncomfortable or do anything that's going to sever the friendship you know as far as talking about sin or pointing out problems it's going to be uncomfortable what do you say to a whole generation of christianity or whatever that's kind of that's their mo if that's your mo um that's not biblical um there are times when that's exactly what you need to do and and so the bible uh talks about uh the fact that um a friend you know love covers a multitude of sins and and so there there are times when you just need to be with people and keep your mouth shut and that kind of fun thing but there you know if you if you're really a friend to somebody you know if you saw somebody who's you know you got a you got a best buddy who's driving with you and he's about to drive off a uh uh you know off off a cliff or something you know just sit there and let him do that what you what you do is you uh come along and you warn him and you try to stop him from going in a direction that's going to destroy his life well it's the same thing in in life in general um there's a there's a passage in uh proverbs uh in the book of proverbs in chapter 27 let me let me get there it says it says this um open rebuke is better than love carefully concealed and it goes on to say faithful are the wounds of a friend but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful and so if you're a friend there's going to be times when open rebuke is required it's something that that needs to be done for for people to stop them from uh going in certain directions i certainly um want that happening in my life actually one of one of the things that um i have going on around here uh with my employees is um i i am not a guy who wants to just have everything my way and we're just going to do it my way if somebody if somebody has a better idea then i'm bound to listen to them and if they know that i'm doing something messed up and they don't let me know i actually get i get more angry about that than being contradicted because uh what we're what we're doing is we're working for jesus and god needs to be glorified in the things that we're doing and so somebody knows that there's a problem they don't tell me about the problem and i go on you know willy-nilly having having you know being completely ignorant of an issue i don't really appreciate that from people who are working for me are supposed to be my friends there's a there's another passage in proverbs chapter 28 uh verse 23 it says this he who rebukes a man will find more favor afterward than he who flatters with the tongue and so again the the the bible isn't behind the kind of attitude where actually i don't want any conflict and i want to cause any problem and i don't want to necessarily uh lose a friend you notice how often i said i in those sentences that's all about me and that's not all that's not all about the people who are around me and so as a christian i'm supposed to be others centered and so i i'm supposed to be doing what's right by people um not what makes them feel good supposed to be doing what what's right by people not what makes me feel good it's just what's right by them god and god does this all the time you know every every single time that we're convicted of our sin that's god speaking to me about the fact that i'm out of line and the reason that he does that is because he loves me well i'm supposed to be like jesus and so be like jesus yep all right cami's on here she asks how do i email you to seek help for council so for all you guys that want counseling if you just go to our website you guys can click on email and either email an individual pastor if you know who you want or you can just email the church office or call a church office set up an appointment and uh they'll get you guys squared away in fact if one of you guys could just send a link to cammy on facebook uh just for our email that'd be awesome yeah okay well cammy a lot of a lot of times it's a whole lot easier to do counseling um speaking to somebody than over email and uh so so email isn't um usually really effective for that yeah and so uh if you're out of town i don't know if you're if you're living in town if you're out of town uh then uh a phone call uh would actually be better than email yeah i've done uh zoom calls too those are oh yeah there you go we got the zoom yeah all right uh this is an interesting question to me because i just got into a really deep conversation with another brother about this but it says is preaching teaching or believing dominionism a sin and as i went through this uh before you get into it the teachers that are teaching this the distinction that i saw is that they try to make a difference between or well the difference between demon oppression versus demon possession the problem is their definition goes into demon possession and you know i believe the bible teaches that believers cannot be demon possessed and they get that really confused and then people start going off off the rails in my opinion but in any case what is dominionism and to answer his question is preaching teaching or believing it a sin okay well usually dominionism is a is the idea that uh the church is going to conquer and rule the world so is he talking about something else well i don't know okay this i just got into a conversation about this so i'll look it up but you do your thing okay i'll look it up and and so it depends on what you're talking about well any anytime you that you're talking about something that the bible doesn't teach well obviously that would be false teaching and that would be a sin and so we don't want to go off with our own ideas of uh what scripture has to say there's there's nothing wrong with speculating about what uh what a passage might mean as long as you keep it speculation in the sense of well this is what i think this might be talking about but as soon as you as soon as you uh come up with some kind of teaching that is obviously uh something that is contradictory to what the scripture clearly teaches that's false teaching and so uh in in the instance of dominion theology and that's what i'm talking about and i i don't know if that's what's specifically being uh spoken about in the situation but uh in dominion theology it's it's the idea that again uh what's gonna happen is that we're going to go through and uh it's more of a political uh type of christianity where um the the church goes through and takes over the world takes over the the government systems and that kind of thing and basically brings in uh a you know a utopia and then if they believe in the return of christ then after that jesus comes back and obviously that's not something that's that's taught in scripture when jesus comes back he's killing people there's a there's a whole world that's aligned against him and he's destroying armies that are against him and so you go through the book of revelation and the second coming is a pretty rowdy event and obviously uh there there are people who are so far gone uh that they try to fight against christ and so that that bears no resemblance uh to any of this kind of teaching and so yeah that would be something all right i'll have to look it up and come back to it and uh again you know just talking about the the whole situation uh i mean you mentioned it uh with uh believers being possessed by demons you know every time a demon was around jesus they screamed and uh the bible is is clear on the fact that we are temples of the holy spirit and that god you know basically god doesn't share space um with uh anything that is not of him there's a there's a passage in the um in the passage speaking about um being unequally yoked it says this what what fellowship is righteousness with lawlessness what communion has light with darkness what accord has christ with belial that's a name for the devil or what part has a believer with an unbeliever and what agreement has a temple of god with idols for you are the temple of the living god as god has said i will dwell in them and walk among them i will be their god and they shall be my people. and so we're the temple of the holy spirit and god doesn't have anything to do with satan and and so light and darkness and and that kind of stuff and it's not that satan can't tempt me and it's not that satan can't hassle me uh those things are clearly taught in scripture but as far as satan inhabiting me that's something that's completely different i am filled with the holy ghost i am i am filled with the spirit of god and i have christ and the father living inside of me is what it says in acts chapter 14. not a place that's conducive uh to demons hanging out with you so okay next question um says this from nick uh he says hey guys job says something interesting in uh 2 10 job 2 10 he says shall we receive good from god and shall we not receive evil question mark that last part is that allowed what's the difference between god allowing evil in our lives and receiving evil from god is job in the wrong when he says this uh maybe i should give him a break he did a pretty rough week i'm curious what your thoughts are well there's a there's a passage in um isaiah 45 verse 7 where god is speaking and he says uh actually i'll start in verse 6 that they may know from the rising of the sun to its setting that there is none besides me i am the lord there is no other excuse me i form the light and create darkness i make peace and create calamity i the lord do all these things and uh in the in the old king jimmy uh when he says i'm i'm the lord and i create calamity it's uh i'm the lord or i i make peace and create calamity uh in the king james it says i make peace and create evil there's another uh passage um in amos 3 6 where it says if a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people be afraid if there is calamity in a city will not the lord have done it and so it's not necessarily that god specifically does those things and um you've got that right in the book of job because you read chapter one and two and we know who caused all the problems uh the problems were caused by satan but god is the one who allowed it and so you have a number of passages like these like the one that you have in job and also uh the two that i just mentioned there's there's more in the bible where where god takes responsibility for everything that's going on and the reason he does that is because he does have responsibility for everything that's going on uh satan is not a free agent he doesn't get to go out and do anything that he pleases he's always held back on one level or another uh by what god says and as a matter of fact even in the book of job when you get to the end of the book i don't know you know obviously you're reading through it but if you have read through it when you get to the end of the book god has a one-on-one with job and god doesn't mention satan satan's not mentioned in his explanation for what goes on with job uh it's just told to us in chapter one in chapter two job doesn't know any of those things and so again um satan doesn't even doesn't even get billing with job in the passage it's all it's all god dealing with job and it's what god's allowed with job and uh those are that's the conversation that he has with them and so again you know it's like when you when when you look at uh the things that go on in our lives obviously there are things that come from the enemy and there's there's plenty of verses that speak about that but again i know that when the enemy attacks me that this is something that's gone before the throne of god and god has decided whether or not i can take it there's no temptation that that's taken us but such as is common to man and god is faithful who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you're able but will always uh basically give you a door so that you can escape and i i paraphrased that last part he gives you a way out and sometimes the way out is run sometimes the way out is endure sometimes the way out has turned to the lord uh sometimes the way out is attack uh the enemy son you know there's there's always a way out but the cool thing is uh that god hasn't given me anything that's brand new and something that's that's um specifically about me and specifically something that i can't endure god always knows that he protects us so all right okay this is this kind of simple one is it considered idolatry to wear a plain cross necklace um not by me have you ever worn cross necklaces yeah it's a it's one of the it's one of the first things i bought after i became a christian yeah yeah so i'm uh i'm a brand new christian i go down to the swap meet uh found a little clay cross uh he was fired and and you know what what is that when they kind of kill him no when they put the the stuff on it they put the shiny stuff on them yeah it's glazed and fired and all that stuff and uh and it was on a leather um thong a letter leather necklace with a bunch of beads on it and i love that thing i wore it all the time and uh you know so as long as you don't make it an idle it's just a it's just a symbol of of following after jesus and and that kind of stuff there are some some people who will make a big uh big fat deal about that um but um uh i i don't think that that's a big deal you're just you're just proclaiming your love for jesus if that's what you're doing with a with a cross now if you if you think that it's got some kind of magical power like it keeps uh vampires away or something like that or keeps the devil away or uh things like that then it can become something that's problematic it can become uh idolatrous and so it's all in that how you deal with the whole thing uh but my dealing with uh any um kind of jewelry uh that i have worn has been that it's something that uh proclaims to people that i'm a follower of jesus i got a um i've got a wedding ring and the wedding ring has a dove on it and so my wife and i uh got those when we first got married and it's a symbol of the holy spirit and so you know we want the holy spirit to be someone who's central in our marriage and that's why we did it and so i don't think that it's got supernatural power or makes me you know makes me more holy or anything like that it has been a conversation starter and so why do you have that bird on your on your wedding ring and that's usually how that conversation goes and so that's that's how i look at those things would you say that rosaries cross over to the idolatry side are still not an issue um i you know again it depends on what you're doing with it you know i don't know a whole lot about rosaries except that you know there's beads on them and they're probably counting our fathers and hail marys and that kind of stuff when when they're praying and that kind of thing there's some things that are problematic about that but again if if you think that it's something that um is specifically making you closer to god if it becomes a talisman on any kind of level then yeah that's idolatrous and so we we don't do those things and so yeah it can be a crossover there so it's a hard issue okay um here's an interesting one by the way we have a cross on our building okay we do a ginormous one big old huge one when christians tithe what are the ethics when it comes to taxes uh compared to other donations we make to charities which is a straightforward tax deduction well you you know uh what jesus said about taxes right and so they were the jewish rulers questioned him in matthew chapter 22 about whether or not they should pay taxes to caesar and what jesus said was you give to caesar what's caesar's and you give to god what's god's and the second part of that sentence is the most important part making sure that you're giving to god what's god's and that's the problem that specifically the pharisees had um in any case um you pay your taxes and uh when you pay your taxes uh uh well this is this is what i do when i pay my taxes jesus on the one hand said don't let your um right hand know what you're left no don't let your left hand know what your right hand is doing when you're giving and it's it's the idea that you don't need to be parading these things or making a big deal out of the the fact that you're giving in in that instance specifically to to the poor and uh so we need to watch out for that kind of attitude but i am uh very practical about what happens with the united states government i don't like what they do with the taxes i i don't think it's right to take money from one group of people and give it to another group of people just because it buys you votes i think that's sinful i think taking taxes and using them for all kinds of social programs that destroy families destroy the lives of children uh specifically destroy babies uh you know that um planned parenthood is funded by the federal government at 50 billion dollars a year and they say that that doesn't go for abortions but you know what if you gave me 50 billion dollars a year um i could i could take and say that i was um using it for some other thing it all goes into the same bank account and that's nonsense and so i don't like what the most of what the government does with tax money and so i don't give them one penny more than what they're owed and so i you know i'm real careful when i do my taxes and i give them the least that i can and so i want to obey the lord and i'm going to pay my taxes but not one penny more and so that's my attitude towards taxes totally yeah i get as many deductions as my tax guy says that i can get to the penny yep uh because i'd rather give it some someplace else all right side note i was thinking of the some people call it demonization theology not dominion theology so okay i got that wrong all right here's a here's one from thomas uh that's his youtube name um if it's about the future he's talking about ezekiel 39 9 if this verse is about the future why the wooden weapons and what's interesting is and you're going to answer it but if you look at the end of that verse i'm going to submit to you that they're not wooden weapons but what do you say steve uh the end of the verse 39 9 it says then those who dwell in the cities of israel will go out and set on fire and burn the weapons both the shields and bucklers the bows and arrows the javelins and spears and they will make uh fires with them for seven years that the that's the verse right yeah so he goes he goes if that's about if if it's about the future why the wooden weapons and i think the answer to that is that these things are burning for seven years so that's a technology statement and he's using those things to probably talk about future weapons to describe him oh yeah that's a that's a that's an option there um one of the things what's his name again uh thomas it's his youtube name so thomas one of the things that you have uh with hebrew is it's a pretty vague language and so um for example um in this passage the word for horses is a word that in hebrew doesn't it's not the hebrew doesn't have a specific word for horse the word for horses in hebrew is translated leapers and it's used in the bible for both horses and for birds um specifically swallows and so uh when you're when you're looking at the word for both for example it's it's not like our word for bow uh it's a word that means launcher um when you look at the word for arrows it's a hebrew word that means piercer and it has the idea of a thunderbolt when you look at the word first sword in the passage it's a weapon for laying waste is literally what the hebrew says and so when you're looking at the at the book of ezekiel specifically the bible the old testament when it was first translated into english that's that's way back in the in the 1500s and then finally king jimmy is in the in the 1600s so when it's translated into english in the 1600s and you have a word that means launcher and they're going to translate it into english well in the 1600s the launcher was a bow it could have been a catapult but launcher was a bow and a piercer or a thunderbolt would be an arrow because it's tied in with the launcher in that passage so it's bow and arrow and again a weapon for laying waste in the 1600s was a sort but when you get to the 20th century or even the 21st century a launcher is not a bow anymore not mil in a military context and a leaper is not a horse anymore not a military context and it could be you know you know it can it can be that but it's not confined to that um another thing that yeah let me just deal with the whole issue of the of the wood thing and uh basically what it what it's saying in verse 9 is that the israelis are using these weapons for fuel uh for the next seven years um one of the things that that's interesting that's happening right as we speak it's it's something that's uh been going around since uh actually sent some articles that i had in 2012 because i i have the same questions that you have um they're talking they're starting to talk about using cellulose uh nanoparticles for armor in fact i just read an article today um about uh police departments uh replacing kevlar with this um uh cnc is what they call it and it comes from wood and so what they what they do is they they basically break down wood to a uh to a certain molecular structure and it's lighter than kevlar it's stronger than kevlar and they're thinking about uh replacing the the plates that they have in bulletproof vests with this stuff really yeah they're also talking about using so i'm assuming it like molds and it's pliable yeah they can they can they can shape it they can mold it wow yeah uh they're talking about using it for tanks they're talking about using it for um uh weapons uh uh uh the the stocks on uh military weapons and uh the scopes and uh that kind of stuff uh again using it for for tanks for armor for helmets they're talking about using this stuff because obviously if it's stronger than kevlar um it's gonna be better than the than the helmets that we uh pass out to our soldiers and so this is cutting edge technology and it would literally be wood so so like you already pointed out this could be descriptions in the hebrew of future weapons that's why i think i mean yeah burns for seven years i don't think that that's like a tree you know yeah but could you let's say not doing the seven year thing and whatever could it be like we have the tribulation nukes are launched and it takes us back into the stone ages because everything's wiped out and we go back to those weapons instead of having modern yeah but this is this is the the battle that puts you back there right so it hasn't happened yet yeah and it hasn't happened yet and so so the first this is world war iii that's being spoken about here okay and so um israelis are are pretty um innovative and uh you know there's they they they're pretty inventive on what they can do with things and and so you may be talking about nuclear weapons too yeah uh with this whole thing uh because it looks like the battle's nuclear when you get to the end of it so the there is a is that the verse that i'm thinking of where the it feels them for a number of years or is there another one that no that's the one so it fuels them for seven years yeah it's the tribulation is the verse that talks about them bearing the bodies downwind tied to this passage so that's another one that it's like it seems to be nuclear yeah just after that coming from hanford yeah just after that uh in uh verse 11 on down through uh verse 16 it talks about them uh going around and uh taking the bodies that are left after the battle and burying them in a place that's downwind from israel yeah uh that they have uh specific uh men that are picked out to go and if if a bone's found it's marked it's not touched it's marked and then specific men come in uh who are trying to do this and they take the bones and they bury them down wind why would why would you do that yeah exactly why not bury them right where they're at interesting verse all right thomas youtuber thanks for reaching out man appreciate the question and i just deleted the one i was gonna post so let me see if i redo this okay got it all right jd asks pastor steve is the mark of the beast enforced before or after the abomination of desolation by the antichrist in the tribulation period i've never come to a good conclusion on this thanks so much god bless you guys what do you say to jd you know jd it looks to me like it's it's after the um abomination of desolation um what you what you have with the antichrist and you know i can give you a bunch of verses there you need to read about them in the book of daniel and then uh come to the new testament and go through the book of revelation it looks like the first three and a half years with the antichrist what um he he's not somebody that uh the world is looking at as an evil sinister person in other words he doesn't come with a black cape and a black hat and a long mustache going yeah ah you know that kind of stuff and so he is the reason he's called the antichrist or a false christ is because he's pretending to be the real thing and so there's this period of time where he's consolidating power and it's not until the abomination of desolation that he really shows his colors and it's at that point when he goes into the temple this is in second thessalonians chapter 2 and sits down in the holy place the holy of holies in the temple and proclaims himself to be god that he really shows who he is that corresponds with revelation chapter 13 and the the persecution uh that comes uh specifically from the antichrist and the false prophet and so that wouldn't be something that's conducive to a rise to power uh in the in the sense of uh specifically trying to trick people into into following him um there there's indications in scripture that the jews believe him to be the messiah and obviously somebody who's doing major persecution of people who will not take a mark that's that's problematic if you're trying to compare it to the jewish messiah so there's there's a period of time where um he's proclaiming himself to be somebody who's bringing peace in fact in the book uh book of daniel it says that um by peace he destroys many and it looks like then after uh that would be after the abomination of desolation uh that he would bring out the whole thing with the mark of the beast and and uh uh begin the major persecution when you go through and you look at what jesus has to say about the tribulation period um in matthew chapter 24 um he he kind of he kind of does that uh with what jesus talks about is the fact that there's going to be um deception that's going to be taking place he says uh there are going to be people who say that i am christ and will deceive many he talks about wars and rumors of wars he talks about pestilences and famines in various places and he says these are the beginning of sorrows then he talks about being delivered up to tribulation and kill you and you'll be hated by all nations for my name's sake those would be people who wouldn't be following the antichrist because they would have some inside information in other words they read their bibles many will be offended we'll betray one another we'll hate one another that many false prophets will rise up and deceive many and because lawlessness will abound the love of many will grow cold but he who endures to the end shall be saved um verse 15 he says therefore when you see the abomination of desolation spoken of by daniel standing in the holy place then let those who are in judea flee to the mountains and then jesus says for then there will be great tribulation such as has not been since the beginning of the world in this time known until this time no nor ever shall be and so jesus makes it clear that even though the first part of the of the tribulation uh contains major issues warfare and past uh pestilences and famines and that kind of stuff oh by the way all that stuff can come from warfare um and even the the issue with persecution it's not until after uh the abomination of desolation that it really gets gnarly and so it looks like that that's where that would fit in to me that's my take on it so so when it comes to the mark of the beast uh this is something that people are gonna know right it's not gonna catch off guard like oh whoops i took the vaccination didn't know that was the mark of the beast or whatever it is that people like to come up with it's specifically a spiritual decision that you know that that is going to lead you into following the antichrist well actually that's a that's a really good point matt because uh specifically the mark of the beast is connected with worship of the beast and worship the beast isn't going to take place until after he reveals himself to be a god and and so that's that's another uh really good point revelation chapter 14 talks about god giving the people of the earth warnings before they take the mark and uh letting them know that this is a this is a deal breaker if you take the mark then you're going to hell and it's because again it's connected with the worship of the beast all right dave is on here and um he has another question that's in regards to this out of first kings 10 14. he's on facebook pastor steve he says uh what is your take on first kings 10 14 the weight of gold that came to solomon yearly was 666 talents of gold any significance to this and the 666 mark um yeah i believe it i i believe there is uh one of the one of the things that you have with solomon is that uh he's got kind of a a dual um personality in scripture and so his first years were godly and he followed the lord um he you know obviously asked god for wisdom but then his wives turned him away from the lord and he entered into the worship of baal and the worship of molech that kind of stuff worship of molech and baal involved child sacrifice and so when when you when you have these uh um these places of worship and tophet for example uh it's a valley uh in jerusalem near jerusalem at the time when you have these things going on uh all through the history of judah those were things that were started specifically by solomon and got worse over the years but they were started by solomon and so when you get to the new testament when solomon's mentioned he's kind of mentioned backhanded so jesus talks about the flowers of the field and he says solomon in all his glory was never arrayed like any of these kind of a put down on solomon you know he's not even as good as a flowery field uh type of type of thing and so um you see this the this picture of him uh being somebody who is uh somebody who is opposed to god and rejects god and so yeah there's some types there of the antichrist you have this with a number of kings and so uh solomon's a good one uh nebuchadnezzar is another one uh king of babel uh king of uh tyre is another one and and so on and so that's there are types out you know back there and so anytime that i'm teaching through there and 666 is mentioned with in the context of commerce is very interesting yeah so yeah all right uh sovereign mind on youtube pastor steve asked do you teach pre-tribulation rapture uh pastor steve question mark i personally do not believe in pre-tribulation rapture what do you say to sovereign mind sovereign mind i do and the reason i do is because the rapture is an unexpected event if you have the rapture taking place after the tribulation period or anytime during the tribulation period you have all these events that have to take place before the rapture happens the rapture is going to happen no matter what it's either going to be pre-trib or it's going to be mid-trib or it's going to be post-trib or you know some people come up with pre-wrath you know type of stuff but it's the rapture happens the rapture is defined uh in 1st thessalonians chapter 4 as that time when jesus comes back and he raises the dead from their graves and reunites them with their spirits the the dead bodies with their spirits and those who are alive and remain are caught up together with jesus in the clouds and then we're with the lord and so um all through scripture that is an unexpected event and so just to give you a low down on what happens during the tribulation number one world war three takes place during the tribulation and a quarter of the people on the planet are dead that's what the bible says and so if jesus isn't coming until after the um tribulation starts then jesus isn't coming until after world war iii and so that immediately places uh the the rapture as being something that is not an unexpected event because when i see world war iii i know that that begins the whole the whole catalog of events that are going to take place during the tribulation period there's going to be something burning like fire that hits the ocean that destroys a third of the ships and uh um basically um that's that looks like an asteroid so an asteroid's gonna hit the earth there's gonna be another war where another third of mankind is killed so that's gotta take place there's all these events that if you take the book of revelation seriously um put it outside the realm of being an unexpected event if the rapture happens during the tribulation or after the tribulation that places it in one place and it's got to be before and i've never heard a good argument that answers those questions and so some something you know that everybody goes through you need to go through and check out what scripture actually has to say on this jesus warned us that he was coming like a thief in the night and he can't come like a thief in the night to anyone if he's coming at the second coming actually the bible teaches in the book of revelation that the demons know when jesus is coming at the second coming and that the kings of the earth know when he's coming at the second coming they all gather together at the valley of megiddo to resist the second coming and so if christians are the only ones surprised by the second coming of jesus that's ridiculous because the demons aren't and the kings of the earth aren't and and so they all know when jesus is coming in fact once you have the abomination of desolation the antichrist has 1 260 days to live is what scripture says and he's killed by the brightness of his coming jesus is coming according to second thessalonians chapter two so there's all kinds of of reasons that i have a problem with the either a mid-trib or a post-trib uh return of christ for the church and that's the biggest one it's called the imminency of the return of christ yeah all the descriptions that they use you know like two people working in a field or sleeping in the same bed or they'll be marrying and giving in to marriage normal thing i just went to a wedding this weekend if two billion plus people were dead and all the heart and asteroids hitting the earth there's no way someone's calling me like hey did you book my photographer for this weekend you know it's like that's not that's not going to be happening so that is the i think the the hardcore argument on that yeah all right you good yep all right uh darcy i don't have room for your whole thing on here so i just uh paraphrased but this is darcy's question as the news and events continue to unfold not only with the virus but with other world events as believers and students of the bible knowing what is ahead and seeing things unfold or beginning to unfold it can be hard to know the best way to react to these things resist everything fight back go along with it etc ultimately i want to be a light and not react in a way that turns unbelievers away i've been relying on the holy spirit to guide but it can be hard sometimes not to get angry or worried etc and possibly react in a way that the world looks to us like we're being selfish or something else that would turn them away what advice would you give in the situation that we're in pastor steve um you know what i think i think what you're what you're doing darcy is is good you need to rely on the holy spirit because they're you know there there are times to be gracious to people and there are times to be angry and so you know jesus got angry and he just didn't do do it for selfish reasons and um so uh first thing that uh jesus did in ministry as far as uh public ministry actually there's two things i'm in john chapter two uh on wednesday nights and first thing he does is he goes to the wedding at cana and he does the whole thing with turning water into wine the second thing he does is he goes to the temple and he drives out the money changers with a whip and so you know he's angry at that point and he's not over the top and he's not um you know he's not he's not crazed or anything but he wants him out of the house and he's serious about it you know out of his father's house and he's serious about those things and so i'm i'm supposed to be like jesus now i need to be careful because i can i can have an attitude where the whip comes out before the grace comes out and so you always have to watch out for that but um both of those things are valid um there's a there's a passage in um i said second john or is it jude i think it's jute um it says uh it talks about uh saving some uh basically yeah it's indeed yeah it's not on fire yeah i'm gonna butcher it i'm gonna butcher it it says on some have compassion making a distinction but others say with fear pulling them out of the fire hating even the garment defiled by the flesh and that's jude 22 and 23. and so you know both those things need to happen i think i think that there's uh a good time to um be civilly disobedient and so i'm civilly disobedient there are things that i don't make people do the governor of my state wants me to um make sure that uh if people come to church that they have masks on and my answer to that is no i'm not the mass police and and so i don't have to do that um sheriff's department doesn't do it in the sense that they don't enforce those things and so some dude over in olympia go you know steps outside the bounds of uh his uh purview basically and tries to tell me to do stuff and you know i don't need to do that um tells me that i can't uh gather together um and worship this is one of the things that we had going on between us and the governor last year and tells me that christians can't meet to worship i don't care what you say uh jesus said you know god says that that's exactly what we're supposed to do and so there are times when the answer is just no i'm not going to do what you tell me to and i'm going to you know i don't mind taking the consequences if if the cops would come and put me in jail i'd go to i'd go to jail do a prison ministry i don't know but i'm not gonna i'm not gonna just do what these guys tell me to and so that that happens in a number of places i need to be honoring the lord in the things that i do uh in the things in my actions and also uh in my body and so you know this is this is one of those issues that's coming up right now with uh vaccine mandates and and that kind of thing by the way um if you're having an issue with that and you need an exemption letter we have an exemption letter and so we'd be we'd be glad to send that out to anybody who needs it in any case uh there's there's some problems with these things so some of the vaccines uh almost all of that well actually both of vaccines that are being used in the united states have been tested on uh fetal cell lines and so fetal cell lines come from aborted babies and that's problematic to a lot of christians uh one of the vaccines uh gosh i think it's moderna uh i'd have to go back and check don't hold me to that but one of the vaccines was developed uh with a fetal cell line in other words they used uh fetal cells to develop the vaccine itself would not test it but develop it and so that's problematic uh to to many christians and so i'm not interested in taking a vaccine that's like that in fact i you know uh not too long ago i was talking to somebody about specific bacte vaccines that schools want kids to be vaccinated with and found out that they're using fetal cell lines and that specifically they drop the animal cell lines that they originally started with i'm talking about the mmr measles mumps and rubella the rubella portion of that vaccine has been developed with fetal cell lines and they stopped using specifically uh an ethical uh vaccine that didn't use fetal cell lines because of money basically and so i'm you know if that was the issue i would give my kids a mump shot and i would give my kids a measles shot don't have a problem with that i would not give them a rubella shot not after i found that out and so you know it's it's like that with a with a number of vaccines and and those things are coming up now and um so anyway there's some ethical issues and pharmaceutical companies need to act ethically and so again i can see people making stands in those areas and uh they are stands that glorify god so amen all right guys we are out of time thank you so much for joining us hope you guys been blessed
