Truck Driving Student - First day at truck shifting and backing

[Music] what's going on am i here with Steven I student what's up young we bout to do some shifting we are at the shifting range where they what we call shifting ranges just an industrial part where we do some shifting and stuff so the student gets familiar with the shifting you know it's the beginning part of the training I always like to get them out here so they can get familiar with it get an idea what it's like you know Bob tell we don't have a trailer so it's a little different then is when you have a trailer so you know either way he's gonna idea of what it's like that the shift and grind and all that sort of stuff so you know me I ain't worried about that stuff cuz it's gonna happen so so yeah man the first thing is I'm a do man is I'm uh I'm gonna do a roundabout go around I'm gonna show you first what it's like to ship and what you know kind of give you an idea what it's like you know yeah then kind of show you what to do a start button and then we'll come back to the same spot and and then you know you'll do it you get behind the wheel so okay all right any time you start the truck mm-hmm you know turn the key you can wait buzzers to go Oh always make sure it's in neutral always make sure it's in neutral though the freaks are pulled out make sure you see both before anything make sure you see what's good and the Emir's was just you know to you which you can see right if you if you delay the shifter like like it is to be straight down as you can see it I'm not using too much force on it at times it'll get stuck it just releases plus a little bit of fun third once like that it'll do that so alright so you know again if you start bring the clutch out even with a break and then start releasing the brake but then you take your foot off the brake then finish reducing the clubs do you really the clutch the trucks are ready rolling it again you gonna bring them up the RPMs about 1200 clerks don't release the clutch out you know I mean you know crunch crunch it we clutch out Plus to get in the gear right so [Music] puts out much six three simple yummy that and the downshifting part is a little tricky you gotta bring our by the watch out yes much in when I say clutch out I mean get it out of gear and when I say clutch in I mean get it into the gear whatever gear you want to go so flicks out of gear and pleasure in a gear just so you know cleaners now shoot this down yeah let's say where you are downshift and then I say clutch do not push it you know if I say close it out me and get it out of gear when I say clutching I mean get it into you every year you didn't pull it so I'm gonna start in third again if you look at my foot see how I bring my flesh out like this take one foot off the break dancing and the reason I do that is because if it starts to roll I mean and the reason you want to take your foot off the clutch always because you want to be ready if you need to stop you know you got the clutch already the class is what keeps it
