thank you [Music] this is the seasons [Music] amazing for yourself [Music] [Music] for change [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] to work [Music] [Music] foreign [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] this is the year [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] change the world to change [Music] change it right now [Music] times [Music] true change [Music] [Music] [Music] brown people [Music] foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] for another opportunity to Magnify Him and exalt you and exalt his name on tonight let's prepare our hearts and let's get ready we end The Book of Leviticus we've been going through the Bible during our Bible study here at triumphant life and I'm thankful even now for those who are joining us uh we're grateful to God if you're tuning in let's get your pen your paper your Bible let's get ready to dig right into the word let's learn let's ask God to speak to our hearts even now let's go in prayer father I thank you so much for another night to hear your word another moment to hear your word and God I pray that as we go into your word tonight that you would move by your spirit that you would speak to the hearts of your people that you would use this Urban vessel God declare what you want to say through your word tonight and God that you would get the glory we thank you for this time of studying your Bible your word let it continue to be a lamp into the footsteps of the believer and to those who have an ear to hear may they hear you clearly and so God we thank you tonight we thank you for your word and God we ask you we get all the glory in this time in Jesus name amen and amen all right God bless you thank the Lord for you we've been in the Book of Leviticus for the past uh few weeks diving all the way in last week we talked about um obedience and dealing with the element of being obedient uh to the word of the Lord and the consequences of that obedience that it's a choice and we really dived all the way into Leviticus 10 watching Aaron's sons and so we talked about obeying God and if you miss that I want to encourage you to go back and watch that particular message because that was in a very important part of our process and our walk with God and the week before that we were dealing with waiting for the glory of God dealing with waiting for the glory don't do anything without waiting for the glories I encourage you take your time to go back and listen to those messages I think they're going to be really helpful for you today let's get into Leviticus 11. I'm not going to stay in all of the food that are are forbidden and and that are allowed but I'm going to really extrapolate the idea what I believe God is saying and what the Lord wanted me to give you tonight so for those who have been with me um I'm going to navigate us through this text in a different way we're going to start in the beginning of Leviticus 11. I'm just going to read verses 1 and 2. we're going to jump down into 9 and jump down and see these aspects and by the end we're going to jump down to the last part where he talks about and deals with the uh the Nate the law of this in verse 46 so we're going to jump around a little bit but I believe we'll get the idea and if you read it thank the Lord that you've read through this um and we'll we'll give some clarity to this now Leviticus is well of course as we've been seeing we've seen the burnt offerings we've seen all the different uh sacrifices and so one we could one could say that Leviticus is God's worship manual uh for the children of Israel to give them access to him which he gave to his people in order to continue to enjoy a relationship with him and be in his presence and because of it the book uh really uh is a book of worship if you could if we find it also a book of boundaries and I want to talk to you from that thought the blessing of the boundaries the blessing of the boundaries uh and so if we look at Leviticus and the 11th chapter I mean 11 chapter verse 1 it says now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron saying to them speak to the children of Israel saying there are the animals which you may eat among all the animals that are on the Earth all right so he tells them and he goes through this uh a concept of what they could eat then he jumps down to verse 9 if we could very quickly he says these you may eat of all that are in the water and now he goes into those that are in the water and he begins to give them a detail of what they can eat from in the water and then in verse 13 he jumps down and he says in these you shall eat as an Abomination among the birds they shall not be eaten they are an Abomination and he goes on to the ego the vulture the buzzer he kind of gives a description and then he goes into verse 20. y'all jumping with me we're jumping verse one and two then we jump to verse 9 in chapter 11 then we jump to verse 13 and now we're in verse 20 and we're going to sum this up by seeing these boundaries he says all flying insects that creep on all fours shall be an Abomination to you all right and so he goes on to describe those aspects and then of course he goes to unclean animals let me let me uh dive in this from a different direction if I could because what I realized the more I read this and studied and I really asked the Lord what do you want to say to triumphant life what do you want to say to us as the body of Christ excuse me there are boundaries that exists that we see here that he sets up for food and we learn throughout Leviticus that boundaries were areas of protection of protecting us from trespassing protecting us from uh what offending God that's necessary and the offense that we've learned can be deadly as we learned in obeying God so the book here in Leviticus what we see here I I begin to look at how these boundaries could be a blessing if we understand them there's boundaries that exist for some major reasons but biblically boundaries guide you to the destination of God's promise one of the things I see here is I look at these foods and different things that he's giving because later we see that uh this was lifted but uh and if you go back to Genesis when they first were created it was just um vegetables that's all they could eat that was all they can eat in Genesis when you look in the beginning he created every vegetable uh the meat was not on the menu the birds were not on the menu but here he now said something different up and you know your boundaries that that are set are set to be able to either and is for the depending on who you are you see boundaries as a freedom or a safety net and everywhere everywhere we look there are boundaries um there are areas where we're allowed to go in areas we're not allowed to go and areas things that we should eat but things we should absolutely should not eat and that's what we see being laid out here now when we look at boundaries one of two ways because many of us uh when we grew up you had certain things you could not do and they are either designed to limit our freedom or to keep us safe I want you to think about that either your the boundaries you either see boundaries as limits to your freedom or elements to keep us safe and it's important because all throughout this Moses and Aaron are giving them a descriptions of what they can and cannot eat and everywhere we look in creation there is order like boundaries there are boundaries there are boundaries that are set up and that's part of God's design they're part of God's fingerprint if you would that they are designed to limit chaos yeah that's what I said he was trying to set them up for relationship that's what we're all offerings were the burnt offering and the peace offering and that all these offerings now he's getting to another level to get them boundaries about what they should eat what's unclean because without it there would be chaos they'd do whatever they want so here's the thing take the boundaries on the road if you could for example are they designed to limit your freedom from the road or are they to keep us safe see what if we had no road signs no rules no uh no just no no roads that with with descriptions on no lines what would the results be what would the chaos the accidents the traffic jams without traffic lights the road rage like we've never seen it before and this is when I came up with this thought as God is giving this to Moses and Aaron and giving them descriptions on what he wants and what he expects without boundaries there would be chaos meaning there's a blessing in the boundaries it's not set to to stop your freedom but it's set to be able to give you a road map to what God wants to keep you safe and what God has and I know many of us don't see the blessing in a boundary you know it's interesting for those of us that do budgets in your budgets and some people like oh I don't have enough to budget no what it means is that you don't want boundaries because you feel like the budget is creating a lack of freedom but really it's to keep you safe from yourself safe from your overspending safe from and watch this and when we get on to diets or we get into eating habits it's really not that you can't eat it it's ultimately giving you boundaries because you're trying to put something in order in order for us to do this walk that God has caused us we need certain boundaries in place to keep us safe God's trying to teach us something I believe in this lesson he's dealing with food and and like I said I I don't want to get the nitpick with the different things that he laid out and I hope that you got a chance to read through it but what I realize is that God ultimately in order for us to live holy to live separated and accept unto God I believe we must set boundaries found in the word that's what he was doing in Leviticus in in each area of setting up the 10 meeting giving the detail it was all about boundaries for for really for their safety but also for them to come close to Christ come close to God we need boundaries to get to the blessing that God has for our lives you have to know your boundaries know God's boundaries and let me tell you something let me just say this to somebody that's listening No Boundaries lit to a life that is out of control No Boundaries lead to a life that is out of control I wrote that because I realized when we put boundaries there are control factors that help us get better or help us get to where we're supposed to be now watch this because this is so important you know what I have put boundaries that there are times that have to set aside for prayer because that's relationship with God there are boundaries and I have to make sure that when I set those boundaries up that there's un uninterrupted time because that's how I get into relationship with God there's boundaries in our worship yes oh I Want to Be Free To Worship no but I'm set he set boundaries in place ultimately one because that's how God gets Glory he set up boundaries for everything watch this Genesis let's go back and out of the ground may the Lord God to grow every tree that's Pleasant to the site and good for food the tree of life also in the midst of the garden and the tree of knowledge of Good and Evil Genesis 2 9. y'all know the scripture watch this why did God set the tree there anyway he could have created all of that and did not create this tree of knowledge of Good and Evil it could have been that simple just not created and it would never it would he would be boundless to eat the food boundless to do whatever he wants but the way God operates is he sets up boundaries and parameters ultimately to develop us and to bring us closer to Every Blessing he has for us let me just put it to you another way boundaries were designed to keep you safe not limit your freedom when God made man he placed him in that Garden he says with our boundaries he gave him instruction to work the garden take care of it and then he commanded him he said you're free to eat any tree but this one why would you do that God not only watch this did God put man in the garden with boundaries but God also placed him there with information with what would happen if he went outside those boundaries oh this is good we're getting to the good part god told him he would die so boundaries were designed to keep us safe not limit our freedom in Leviticus if you look in the text he makes it very clear not only is he he says not only should you not eat it but he's declaring it an Abomination he's setting the boundary in place to say look not only I'm not expecting you to touch it not to expect you to eat it I need you to know this is for your safety from who from me I need to know that that this is what God is God's God's setting up worship and I'm I'm afraid for us in our current predicament because we are growing up most of us uh we we looked at boundaries as a negative thing I I'm just going to take you back just a little bit I remember curfew seemed like a negative thing uh growing up the street lights came on and we had to be in now we've changed that now I know we take it that's dating me but speed limits they're they're that you could look at them negatively but there's a there's a plus to them uh Dating Rules they're drinking ages uh there's movie ratings The the list is endless when boundaries are well placed they keep us safe I don't want my kid before his time looking at something he should not look at it's safety and I believe we have the enemy has ultimately shifted us and caused us to look at boundaries from a negative perspective but I believe boundaries are necessary to keep us safe but watch this there's a blessing in every boundary watch this boundaries are like if we could a road map you can't get to where you want to go without planning otherwise you won't know when you arrive so boundaries gets you where God wants you to be meaning there's a blessing in the boundary so what telling the children of Israel with food is I'm giving you these set of guidelines because they keep you connected to me I'm giving you these other boundaries because this is where safety lies I'm letting you know where the line is or what's forbidden and what's allowed and the tests for many of us is who are we obeying who are we trying to please in this season of our lives with the boundaries that we either have set or we have allowed people to cross boundaries get you where God wants you to be you know it's interesting um uh we we always call fast around uh the new year and so forth but I wonder um how many of us uh put the boundaries of fasting on our lives not to lose weight but to get closer to God see that's a boundary when I'm fasting I'm putting a boundary in place to draw closer to God and the level of control you have to your own desires increases the element of drawing closer to God that's the boundary of fasting so while some things may be lawful for you not all things are beneficiary beneficial to you that's how Paul says it in First Corinthians 6 12 and ultimately what it is is that boundaries are designed to remind us that we're not God now I've seen some amazing things and some shows out there people cliff hanging from Cliffs and climbing and doing all those things but uh gravity is a boundary uh there's there's boundaries out there that we have to respect and every one of us must live with boundaries every day and do we always like the boundaries set for us absolutely not but I need you and my goal here what God has commissioned me in this moment to share with you is to stop looking at boundaries as a negative thing and begin to look at boundaries as God's setting up safety in place there's boundaries that we have to set in relationships there's boundaries that we have to set in marriage there's boundaries in our singleness everywhere there's boundaries but we can't look at them negatively we have to look at them as God you're setting this up so uh to remind me that you're God and I'm not there's boundaries that are set in place that so that chaos doesn't run rampant in your life now some people they have no boundaries and that's exactly why your life is running in the way it is because you have not set boundaries in your finances boundaries in your eating so you eat whatever and it shows up so if we don't set boundaries in place ultimately we don't get the blessing of the boundary see God's boundaries are for our benefit and as he as we look through Leviticus uh we see something amazing here as he sets the order of what's clean and what's unclean that God set boundaries ultimately to remind us that we don't make the rules that's ultimately when you look at Leviticus 11 he's like I I I I make the rules oh you could try to eat it but I'm telling you it's an Abomination to me not to you you probably think it's good oh that tastes like chicken we are supposed to buy buy them yet they are for our benefit that's the essence that we have to understand everything that God does he set up for our benefit could you imagine I'm so grateful to what God does and how he does what he does and the way he does it could you imagine uh the way the moon operates and how God set the moon and put it in boundaries and I heard a preacher say that he he gave some science behind I I didn't look it up but he said that the Moon is trying to pull away at the same time it's being pulled back in it's like a a pull but the interesting thing is the moon is kept in a boundary in place and it helps uh regulate the ocean's boundary if the moon was taken away the ocean would overtake the land but God keeps the moon in place so that watch this so that the ocean doesn't overtake us meaning boundaries are in place one to exhibit that God your God not one scientist has the ability to shift it not one doctor not one astronaut no one can move them out of place however we've gotten clever enough to kind of work things in our own personal life where we can choose the boundaries to break that God set up in his word we can make a decision of where we can move and how we can move but the truth of the matter is when you set boundaries you give the enemy a limit oh that's so good when I set boundaries up I tell the enemy what he can and cannot do so you you look in the Bible you see the very similar aspects operating uh with the story of Job Joe comes uh he's on the scene and and the enemy's walking uh through the Earth looking for who he may devour if you would say and he said God offers up have you considered my servant job uh yeah yeah and then and the Bible tells us that uh he said yeah you you got your hand on him he said oh you could touch all of his stuff just don't kill him meaning he put boundaries on the enemy on what he could uh what he allowed in job's life but watch this there was a blessing in the boundary because although the enemy touched job's stuff and took away wife and kids and money and stuff the Bible says that job the blessing in the boundary was he could not touch his life so when God went into restoration mode and I don't know whose hearing is that as you setting up boundaries and the enemy seems like he got your stuff I need you to know that God has a blessing in your boundary and you know the story the end of job he got a better wife he got better children he got more but he was more blessed after the situation because the boundary the limit when God sets a boundary on the enemy is a blessing attached to it for your life you know in today's culture boundaries of being eliminated boundaries are being uprooted boundaries of being discarded if you would prayer taken out let's take prayer out of school let's remove the Ten Commandments from the judicial doors and that there where there are no boundaries in your life there is bound to be bondage in your life yeah I know I know you you've been so associating boundaries to limits or limiting you yeah we but I'm going biblical with this I'm flipping it because the Bible the way God does boundaries and many of us he places a boundaries around bad decisions and for some of us we need to understand something the reason why he does that is I don't want you to make these bad decisions that's where we look in Leviticus 11 you see unfolding in the text and as you come down towards the end he says you shall not uh make any Abominations you shall not he's going through it because he's trying to put boundaries around bad decisions they may make and if you look at verse 46 as I bring this to the close this is the law of the animals and the birds and every living creature that moves in the water and of every creature I'm in verse 46 6 on the earth to distinguish between clean and the clean and between the animal they may be eaten and an animal that may not be eaten why God because understanding that boundaries promote Freedom he wanted them to have freedom but in his order God's order not man's so Satan watch this the enemy will try to use your emotions to destroy your boundaries I don't know who that's for you need to catch this when we allow our liberties to surpass the boundaries we've set chaos and bondage are inevitable and when we look at the Bible we look at the texts that we've seen oh Leviticus 11 if you've got an opportunity to read through what I've seen all throughout it if you could catch this and let me personalize this for us that boundaries are not as bad as we have believed there's a blessing in boundaries and I know in our popular culture if I was if if I was doing a motivational speech I'd uh I'd be talking about there's no limits like the song says there's no boundaries I see increase all around me and I get it that's a phenomenal song I love that song and I I want you to know that I'm not advocating to put you in a box so much as I am advocating for you to understand there's a blessing when you set certain boundaries the way I see a Leviticus 11 is that God was setting boundaries in place to be able to draw them closer to worship closer to him meaning there are things that God puts on us to bring us closer to the blessing that's why he wants us to be set apart holy the concept of being holy is that there's a boundary that you have placed in your life that you ain't going to do everything that everybody else is doing you are set apart meaning Sunday is return church because that's what caused me to be holy why I'm set apart I go to church I worship on Sunday it's my day that's what sets us in the place of being holy it's one of the things one of the things it's a boundary and because we our culture has put boundaries in such a Negative light and we've had to be so re rep programmed biblically because ultimately we're slipping and eliminating and uprooting and discarding boundaries that God put in place so that one he can draw close to us but two that we would worship him that we wouldn't look like everyone else see these particular things that he put in place was set for the children of Israel that wanted to give him glory it was ones who had a willing heart a desire to please him he was setting this in place so they would understand who and how to worship the true and living God I need you to know tonight that God is Desiring a blessing for everybody that belongs to him but every blessing there's a boundary there are things that we cannot do there are things that he he will not allow now for those of you who are you hearing this and you're like oh but I need to be free I need you you don't realize that there's safety in God's boundaries there's certain things you shouldn't hear shouldn't listen to certain things you know the Bible's so crisp on certain aspects because he's setting the boundaries so you don't live in a chaos or bondage that certain things bring when you go there I'm going to challenge you tonight to ask the Lord to renew your mind in the areas of your boundaries where is it that you have eliminated boundaries or uprooted or discarded a boundary that God ultimately desires you to put in place for some of it it might be food for some of it it might be music for some of us it might be people for some of it we it might just be some some words and things or or some things that we view that God's saying I don't I want your eyes right I want your ears right in this season I want you to hear what I want you to say here not what the world is saying in this season let's begin to pray that God would you bless boundaries that your word declares should be in my life and let me see them as a blessing not as a negative in this season can I pray for you tonight father I thank you for every believer that had an ear to hear and Lord I pray that we would navigate through the negative of what has been poured into us for years about boundaries even though God you are a God that sets boundaries in place so we can worship so we can give you glory so we can honor you and so father tonight I pray you would touch the person that has been boundless they've allowed people to walk in and out to go all over the place and Lord may they now re-establish areas that you want set in their lives oh God to bless them in this season and so father I pray for that person right now that they have eliminated certain boundaries that need to be put back in place they've discarded certain boundaries that Lord You've have not discarded you told them that they were supposed to honor you this way in their Worship in their prayer time in their fasting whatever area God is asking for you to do in this season I pray that you would ask God to help me to put in place the boundaries that you set in your word for my life and God there might be someone that's watching that does not know you God I pray that you would have your way in their hearts even now God that you would move by your spirit oh God in and through them that you would have your way that they would give their lives totally and completely to you oh God not for a lack of freedom but God for an abundance of safety and so God I pray for that person that's been wounded Wayward and without the Savior God that you would have your way in and through their lives and God that you would move by your spirit God I thank you for all that you're going to do in us and through us that you would have your way in the hearts of your people in Jesus name amen and amen amen God bless you I thank the Lord for you and today I pray that
