final race underway here for the 80th amendments meeting at Goodwood the Gordon's Vice trophy is underway a lot of Wheels been low for the mark one goal but it looks like it was a good start for the four Capri of Jay kill but smoked billowing out the back of Jake Hills Capri and I think that was Rob half of the Chevy Camaro who managed to get up to second super quickly as well Nick Swift falling back from Pole Position trying to hang on in there just slots in front of Jim Morris in the VW but it's a hill followed by and what's smoking the race leading car is smoking we looking back from Jake Hills uh wow really well driven but very smoky and possibly terminally well let's hope not but his Capri leading the race of your tank car don't forget it's passing the point where he went into the towel yesterday morning the car was repaired it managed to win its race but that's a slight concern is that just overfill we'll have to wait and see yeah it might just burn off but certainly that's going to be giving Rob Huff a face full of smoke he's not going to be able to see a lot apart from where Jake Hill is follow the smoke and there Jake Hill will be well I'm just slightly concerned maybe that gets away from the line but just a little bit too good was a red limit exceeded to cause all the smoke coming for the car so maybe the driver in second place uh Rob path who can see very little will suddenly be in the lead but Nick Swift in third place is hanging in there guessing almost muscle memory perhaps as they go down the ladder straight towards woodcut it's a huge lead it's probably about a second and a half but Jake Hill will be very aware he'll be looking at the gauges he'll be go off on his own oil that's always a concern through wood could he goes into the chicane this is the point that has to be slowed right down can he let's see well you know what could be a warrior I've seen this in similar races so far this weekend of Porsche very similar thing smoke billowing out the back and after a while it got a black and orange flag and it had to come in and see what the issue was so if that doesn't clear itself up Jake Hill May well find himself forced into the pit Lane this is the view on board the uh World touring car champion of Rob Huff in the Chevrolet Camaro you can see the distance and that smoke and a Rob Huff just keeping a gentle distance for the time being and keeping Swift in his rear view mirror who started on polling that Mini GT has stabilized in third head of Jack Tetley as well he has managed to get up into fourth in the number 28 Chevy Camaro uh so uh good starts from both the Chevrolet Camaros just in the previous race hopped out of one car hopped into the number 21 Camaro he's running in fifth place so we've got uh two of the big bangers up front in third place we've got Nick Swift in the mini the second of The Little Engine cars is in sixth place that's Jim Morris from the outside the front row but the big question is there's still this coming from Jake Hill's car is it Bodywork rubbing I don't think so I'm rather worried there is the black and orange warning flag I'm afraid he's gonna have to report to the pits they're convinced that he is dropping oil on the circuit and I think Rob has to be very clever not to take too many sense is completely heightened is it more slippery what's that on the screen but very shortly I'm sure Jake Hill will heed the the boarding flag and report to the pit Lane for inspection yeah very wide so Rob Harvest seems he's not even quite following behind him on the straight he's just staying just off the raising on case uh he is met with a bit of slippery track while Jake Hill will see the flag uh when he comes around the this lap now so there'll be another lap he's been told to come in he'll see the black and orange back Rob Hart will know the situation as well he was probably expecting this for quite some time but he'll cross that uh lap with the fastest lap so he's still got the pace clearly but you can't really see anything rubbing there's no Bodywork as you mentioned there 129 4 is the fastest lap at the moment but I get this in tough is just biting his time for the time being yeah I really think so but with so much smoke coming out of Jake Hills Ford Capri that's leading the race if they were trying to show a warning flag to the driver in second place or anyone behind him they wouldn't probably have seen it but at least Jake Hill would have seen Rick Woods crew holding out the in message on the board right the mini has gone back from pole position to fifth place no disgrace in that but it's the Camaros making their way forward car number 28 last year's winners Jack Tetley the only big sponsorship and tucked in behind him Oliver Brian pushing on very hard indeed of course he just hopped out of a jaguary type to something with far less finesse but a lot more grunt the American grunt yes making its way through a little word on our first Reserve little vic Lindsay started right from the back and in his fourth Capri and has got himself up into 20th spot so far so uh not too bad for the number 33 uh who didn't think he'd be starting this race about 10 minutes ago ghost approved testing is Buncombe doesn't need it at all so he's getting 10 places in two laps that's neat that's tidy that was just so hard to pick anyone out another card that's making its way forward it's kind of a 19 The Best of The Rovers Hills just moved over as but there's way before the pit entry before the chicane has he already got the problem as the car got put or is he just trying to stay out of the way at the moment we're looking at our pit Lane uh our commentary box window he's made it into the pit Lane on board he still hope he can go back out because he came into the pit Lane as fast as he was allowed to do and wasn't wanting to wait a second the bot is being wrenched up Rick Woods crew is taking a look on board what has come loose it may just be an oil pipe but they've got to be sure and we've had the number six 24 mini going for a little bit of a rotation very frustrating there for Lawrence ward in the ex John Moet car yeah further back in the pack now 15 minutes gone to go off this race Rob Huff now takes over the lead of this race as Jake hill our leader who had a great start from uh second on the grid to take the lead suddenly as soon as he uh hit the gas pedal a plume of smoke billowing out from the rear of that Ford Capri and then eventually a black and orange flag saw him into Lane allowing Rob half in a Chevy Camaro to take the lead and he has nearly four seconds over Jack Tetley uh behind in another Chevy Camaro as well so it's a Chevy Camaro one two currently one two three because Ollie Bryant's in the third place number 21 but what we saw in the first race with these big bangers yesterday was the fact in the heat was that Rob harp binded his time he worked his way forward forward got up into second place and pushed and shaft and challenged really really hard but again so much experience and a huge appreciation historic cars and all the way through his touring car career all around the world he was racing his NB MGB GT and here let's rejoined you could sense the frustration in his eyes he'd be sitting there waiting for the crew to work as hard as they can there is less smoke this time around so the pipe clearly has been reattached can't see enough information on his gauges in fact he's probably not looking them too hard through the fiddly parts of the circuit and certainly as you go into some marriage you need to be looking into where the track is he'll catch the tail Enders soon but a victory I'm afraid for Jake Hill every enthusiastic father Simon Hill in the pit Lane frustration is clearly the byword at the moment fantastic on-board camera shot as well just to see how hard he works the steering wheel where the car is pointing and a bit of anti-lock on there a bit of anti-steering as well even though it's a right hand of the steering wheel's moving left fantastic work now though all the work to do for the one two three car back of the pack fantastic battle developing in the mid-pack around seventh place there's a few thousands of a second between we've got a Volvo in there along with another Camaro Ford as well not to mention the Rover all battling it out I think from uh Shepherd down in mid six seven eight the ninth I said I said if we'd put the cars according to the Natural patient have the big bangers at the front and the very best the smaller engine cars down around Midfield of course they were allowed to start all in sort of alternate positions first third for the Big Bang the second for ETC for those four engine cars they're very good through the corners not so good down the street so they will gradually fall back but Tom Shepard going really well to be running fifth in that VW Sirocco yeah we're just looking at the number 31 of Court trying to chase down the Volvo uh the number 27 of young for 11th place right now that battle heating up nicely along with this uh the Scirocco mark one this is the 44 car uh trying to get through but Lincoln you'll miss it all of a sudden another battle happened the data postcard is trying to catch up to that Gaggle so there's a little bit of a gap because the Scirocco is all over the back of it yeah James Dolan had as much understeer as pot as is possible to have there he got the 61 Fiesta just somehow through woodcuts uh but some great drives and the Jack young driven Volvo coming up with the antar librio on the headlights and the Bastards delivery on its flanks the red and white colors in which she would have competed in the spa 24 hours it had problems in practice it's worked as well deodorant it's continuing to do so it's getting faster and faster Jack becomes accustomed to that absolute [Music] and then as you rightly say it's young in that Volvo a bit of side by side action the shiroko decides has had enough of waiting behind the day to play sport he wants to get through a bit of a shove bit of a squeeze but no the forward holds strong the 61 car gets up onto the curbs the Scirocco tries to cut back that says the day to post Fiesta out wide but we'll have the inside line for the next right hand of the schrocker has to buy in its time into that 45 Shepherd holding on behind Dawn in and he'll be sick and tired of that orange data post Livery if he has to stay there for much longer well for Nick Swift he's falling back down the order is the big powerful cards come through and Fred Shepard in the number 17 Ford Mustang Boss 302 he has the ground but look when you go through the tighter bits what closes in the car with all the handling and Nick Swift puts his car sideways in the blink of an eye flicks it one way flicks the other brilliant out of the chicane he gets the traction down a little sooner but where are the horses they're under the Bonnet of the Ford Jake Hill watch he's made up a position on more and he's that eight sixteen and a half seconds to Marley in the number at 38th Triumph Dolomite let's see how quickly and how much Hill can make an impact in these 10 and a half minutes but side by side action now as we've got Volvo versus VW who can win out the Volvo just gets its nose ahead and the schrocker has to fight inside further back and that date the post Fiesta still trying to do battle as well uh this time it's a Wither what the other cards further back didn't quite see the number on that one but uh the mini super frustrated at the moment that's dude was challenging with the number eight Ford Capri this is the Gordon spice trophy race this was one of his cars with which he had so much success in the British saloon car Championship with the auto car uh sponsorship on its flanks and Motorcraft written in big white letters across to those it's absolutely right the car in the golden spice Livery is competing in this race now uh young is in this Volvo is proving to be perhaps a bit of the cork in the bottle here he looked behind him and it's almost the rest of the field yeah no actually exactly unfair there Harry he's worked his way through that group so um but anyhow he's far from finished another person who is uh just looking to demote Nick Swift in that number 60 mini is the number 19 uh Rover ST1 driven really well so far this weekend and pushing harder and harder trying his best to depose him and gain a position that's uh Michael Whitaker son of Mike Whitaker who's also been racing so many cars here in Goodwood over the years absolutely well up front still half has a 3.3 second lead to Tetley Brian Shepard and Swift the top five and scooting fast uh is that that number 60 mini of Nick uh Swift who started on vault because it's a fallen back to bid he's got Whitaker right up uh behind him and and then comes the huge battle including that Volvo of young currently in 10 spot who's hounding now the back of Thorpe in ninth and then there's a little bit of a gap back to Morris who's up in eighth at the moment so uh once he gets through he might be able to make up some time see how quickly he can get into the top five Swift continues to do battle then with Whitaker Whitaker now in front [Music] but looking at the favorite part of the circuit for Nick Swift and the mini the way he can place his car where he wants to and then constantly change direction through some Mary's is fabulous but if he he needed to get in front interlavant of the Sanyo Rover and Michael Whitaker knows he's got the power down he's got the power he's going to pull away but of course goes to the king keeps on accelerating pulling further clear of the mini but wait to see where he puts the brakes on and then some distance later the minute we'll put the brakes on and Nick Swift will close right in as they come down to vodka but the mid Lauder just outside the tail of the top ten is nose to tell with what about eight cars quite possibly yeah for 31 now chasing down young uh this is Thorpe still on the back of young so Thorp has been on the back of young for quite some time now so uh young I make it up a few positions but then not really making too much progress at the moment still in that ninth spot and then comes that huge gaggle of Cars one two three four five you can counting them they keep coming through the chicane you can see young Aston he battling with a steering of that Volvo coming through the chicane and back onto the main straight to start another lap seven and a half minutes remain of this final race the Gordon spice trophy final here for the 80th members meeting at Goodwood as a jack young tumbling down the order we know he started back in 22nd position he came across the right I would reckon right in front of James storm would you put him in ninth place now he's been re-established in that position so he's gone very well indeed and also James Thorpe has gone into the town of the top ten from 14th on the grid but up front it's rock half leading by 3.2 seconds from Jack tentley his Chevrolet Camaro Z28 from the Z28 but not of a bride no variety there also in the Z28 the American car is having a fabulous race their power really holding out young and uh Thorpe starting to create a bit of a gap in their Volvo and Chevy Camaros too uh the BMW that is chasing them down and then comes it's huge battle the Soraka right up the inside did he make it work but disaster though for the number eight of stick up yeah Mike Michael good drove really well to work his way through the pack trying to follow through from after Jack young Nick padmore in the driver between him in that white camaro that's uh James thought but alas whether he was pushed whether he was shot whether he drove off the circuit with a problem but that number eight Ford Capri will tumble down the order for Michael Whitaker what a shame such a shame no one likes to see a race End early for these drivers who worked so hard on bringing these cars uh to us for us to Feast our eyes on this fantastic racing through the chicane again then for Jack in that Volvo the number 27 still being hunted by those behind the Chevy Camaro the Thorpe to their fourth guard they're also bringing uh the BMW that's padmore he's a great start from further back in the field uh he was there towards the back of the grid initially so he's made huge gains and finds himself in this battle for Knight young at the moment heading up that gaggle of cars ahead of thought padmore then come sleep in the 88 Lindsay uh is 13th and Shepard has lost a few positions then down into 14 the head of water field rounds up the top 50 and that's a huge crash the VW Mark 1 Golf GTI I believe I'm not sure which one that was though I can tell you it was one started from 10 of the bridge by Mark Wilson I was worried well I was worried it for any card that goes slowly up onto its side there was it the one that Jim Morris started from the front row that's still going in eighth position but uh just got it wrong down there that was the Akai Liberty Golf GTI flipping up onto its door but the middle order Nick padmore has passed the vastus Volvo and up in front of him it's uh the James Thorpe driven Z28 So padmore's Gone really well 24th position up to what is that eighth position right now can jack young fight back in that boxy brick light 242 uh Volvo he's certainly having to go alongside the UF jeans delivery car and the the Marlborough Livery Rover is also having a look that sleep pushing well they're all gonna have to stop because the red flag has come out because of that Blitz VW and uh that was delivery Camaro Zed 28. well we will get another green flag before we get the racing action properly underway as well so they get underway bit of a slow start there from Bryant's uh Camaro but he makes it off the line so flat formation lamp essentially underway as uh they get up to speed once again getting heat into these ties what's left of the rubber after almost nearly full distance race five minutes how much rubber will they have left on these tires to make it towards the end and to finally complete this race we'll find out in just a few moments time well let's hope nobody when they were sitting there with their engines turned off noticed uh the Heat starting to build up too much in their cars because racing cars went driven fast and hard and pushed to the Limit don't like just suddenly stopping and sitting there without anybody to sort of keep things cool for them and we've got a few cars that have started as reserves Ludovic Lindsay will be starting middle order in the number 33 Faberge and liveried Ford Capri is black with the green red uh flanks on that car and right at the back they seemed a little bit underpowered or in fact reliable when it came to practice all sorts of problems for the Triumph dolomites but good to see a couple of them out there still playing at this the finale but it's all about the Z28 Camaros which will fill the front row and can Fred Shepherd in that white and black a Ford Mustang Boss 302 do something about it in those that wonderful battle between those great American manufacturers vw's as well making their way through the field the Scirocco the Mark 1 golf as well looks so fast in yesterday's heat but we'll have to make up a few a few positions in this five minute Sprint to the end to try and get them into Podium contention you can see there there is the 44 and which I believe will still carry that 10 second penalty actually so a bit of a Race Against Time and I don't think that will be able to quite find 10 seconds in five minutes but who knows and uh let's do another grid for you and uh we'll try and get up to speed so Rob Huff on Pole Position ahead of Jack Tetley and Oliver Brian they are the front three in the Chevy Camaros but watch out for that Ford Mustang of Fred Shepard then we go back the Volvo of Jack young was really rallying hard in the top seven he goes from eight along with Nicholas padmore who on the initial grid started way back down in 28th position he's already right up there first Reserve little bit Lindsay uh started this race from the back didn't know he would be starting this race he starts from 12th in this five minute Sprint uh in his Ford Capri uh head now to Rupert D the remaining mini GTD down in 18th position he will start just behind the Ford three and the Ford Fiesta James Dolan 19th and 20th is David Devine a David Divine who we saw going to the pit so I wonder what will happen to him and then we have the Triumph dolomites the mini Clubman estate and there is Jake Hill in 21st the one two three Ford Capri watch out how much progress can he make in five minutes and on the back row it will be the Triumph Dolomite the Ford Fiesta and the Mini GT of Timothy Morley Simon Goodlett and Lawrence Ward and good news I just looked into pit Lane David Devine's escort is waiting to rejoin the race when it starts from pedex in but which these Camaros are going to make the very best starter will the cars the Rover and the Ford from the second row have half a chance look out also for the bastos Volvo on the outside here we go then a restart then five minutes for the golden going away and well a bit of a slow start for the Chevy and Brian the Jacks Hitler I think has managed to hold on into SEC we've got cars already way off into the grass it's a BMW off there's carbon fiber they're going everywhere from the back of the buckets the fiddle pack scuffles before Rob Huff he's away and well being chased down by the sister Chevy and Jack gently Jake Hill is getting into the think of it as well passing cars left right and Center he is trying to make up as much time as he can and reminder he led this race for the majority before having to come in and choose a black and orange flag well the pace of his Ford Capri he's right on the tail of a skid car Scarborough's Capri that started about 10 places ahead of him but it was Nick padmore who took with the Sirocco to the grass on the rundown on the grin towards the first quarter but this is fabulous on car footage it's the well the Ford Mustang of Fred Shepard has picked up Holly Bryant's Camaro Rover started fifth it remains in fifth but look Jake Hill I think he's up into a certain from 21st he's in the top 10 on um still waiting for our time in three page to update to give you the proper order as confirmed Rob Huffman certainly leading the way here is Jake Hillen alongside the number 24 side by side they go uh who is going to be the last of the late Breakers you have to say it's probably going to be Hill and it is down into the braking Zone and the right-hander makes it stick Hill up another position but Rob Huff is he coming under pressure a little bit from jacket only Brian won't be but Jack Tetley he's coming a little bit of pressure from Fred Shepard in the Mustang that's going to be to the advantage of race leader uh Rob .55 of a second is his Advantage we've got this lap and another lap and possibly one more we'll see if they can squeak it in but Jake Hill what was the position I said eight what a good guess so it is nailed it up into eight for Jake Hill how many more can he pick up in these last three minutes absolutely brilliant robuff then half a second ahead of Tetley Shepherd Brian Whitaker the top five up to another position for Jay kill he's got four but he's up into seven what's his next Target Nick Swift a little bit up the road in the mini the best of the small engine cars running in sixth at the moment but boy oh boy nothing is being kept in store by Jake Hill and up front oh a little bit of a slide wide by Jack Tetley in second place that should surely let Fred Shepard close a bit but also let Rod Hart Rob Huff Escape in the lead he was half a second clear but look everything is being thrown out there by Jake Hill is the more smoke is that body work rubbing in the front corner has to be in contact since the start of the second part of this race but it doesn't matter at all he's closing in the next Target Nick Swift and Nick will not give up without a fight a lot of Pride out there well I wonder if there was a bit of contact for the back of the pack as we saw that BMW in another car out well wide into the grass before we'd even reach turn one so you have to wonder how they ended up out there but uh we're focusing quite rightly on the racing action and Rob hop is still leading this race from Jack detli who is a ride up behind him half a second but then it's only two attempts uh to Shepard now who's up into third ahead of Ollie Bryant down to Fourth Whitaker holds out the top life These are big white cars and boy oh boy we're gonna have two more laps that's fantastic news I thought they'd squeak it in the way they thread the eye of the needle and going through the chicane literally scuffing it with either side of the car and the way they drift and uh Jane Jake Hill seven isn't much good is it let's go for C that's what he's done at the end of that now he's only just under six seconds down on the race leader having started 20 positions further back down the order could he have it could he get the third I don't know that might be a bit of a tough ask with just a couple of laps remaining but it's Jake Hill in that Ford Capri anything is possible as we've seen that bruised a battle Capri battled through to the wind the other day so who knows he could do it I think it's going to be too much of an Ask he's right on the tail of uh Michael Whitaker in the Sanyo live read Rover he'll pick that off sooner or later he really just carries as much speed as he can can he get up the inside if he's gonna go any further forward he's got to have a look going into lava not quite close enough and the Rover's got a nice load of grunt that fabulous three and a half liter V8 running a little bit wide that's fine because then you get a cleaner exit to the second part but Jake Hill I think the needles have been on his gauges as he's pressing so hard have a bruised foot he's pushing it through the floor of the car drop half under so much pressure I just noticed Jack said he set the fastest lap last time around he's well he was three tenths that's a lot less than three tenths he's right up behind her for the lead and his race can jack tently try and find a way through the number 28 Chevy Camaro we shall see through the sh through the came they get oh so close to the walls and to start another lap we'll get another one in in plenty of time so uh one more lap to go there for up leads this race from Jack tentley then it's Shepard Brian went to the top five Jake Hill still in sick hasn't quite got Whitaker yet so maybe that third place uh prediction was a bit bold but uh Jake Hill Bravo well yeah as you say he has got whisker now up into fifth place but he's not gonna find the five seconds he requires on this the final lap of the race and uh let's take a look at Jake's move art to pass the Whitaker Rover oh poor Michael Whitaker he was looking at his right door mirror and up the left-hand side came the Capri of Jake Hill as he charged down to woodcut so what's happening in the front of the race certainly got closer but it's settled at about half a second between them threw some Mary's in fact this part the twisting part of this the final lap of the race he closes in this is his winner the number 28 Chevrolet Camaro with the oymik sponsorship on the flank but I think the bastos cost surely no I can't say that here at Goodwood can I has got enough in had well it's a third of a second what more could a race driver ask for well it has certainly proven to be an enthralling race but it's a puff seeing the wind slipped out of his hands Jack Tetley gets right up alongside into the breaking Zone can technically make his way around the outside lock up for Rob off lock up for both of them they both run wide just keeping out of the wall no they're not that's a huge crush for telly who hits the tire barrier drop off loses out I think that Shepherd there who has gone through to take the lead ahead of her Ollie Brian holds on as well where is Jake Hill red flag out and they should have taken the Checker but instead it's a red flag big crash there uh for uh Tetley not what we wanted to see absolutely not I thought you cannot break any later than that they both ate each other on breaking deeper and deeper into wood curtain clearly not enough negotiation but for Fred Sheppard who might think hey so somehow I've had third place turned into first of course the result gets counted back to elapse before so for the Mustang driver
