Tripod geared head you were looking for

ah welcome to my corner of the internet today I wanted to show you my new tripod geared head Leo photo G2 important note uh I'm not affiliated with it I bought it with my own money on eBay um but the reason I wanted to show you because I think it's absolute gem an absolute bargain for a geared tripod hat when I was looking for options I found manfrotto and ARCA Swiss and theycos ridiculous amount of money ARCA Swiss Gearhead would cost you a thousand five hundred something dollars all my film cameras combined cost less than that so this for around 200 I got it on eBay open box I think it's a great bargain it's a very sturdy construction all metal um nice quality comes with a nice pouch you can put it inside put drop drop it in your backpack it not gonna get scratched it's it's not gonna scratch anything in your backpack so it's a nice package very compact here it is comparing um with an iPhone iPhone 13 Pro not the max it's a small model so very very portable um and so if you don't know what the geared head is uh it's a tripod head that allows you to control your camera in three different dimensions separately right so you have different controls for different dimensions and this one has two controls for two Dimensions two mechanical gears for tilting and the vertical panning and the horizontal panning is here manual but it's controlled with a locking mechanism which I think is a good compromise considering like the portability of this one it's really small and using this panning is actually very comfortable and easy and it can hold up to 20 kilograms on an end if you ask me like why Constantine why do you need this um I got my bronica s2a medium format Beast of a camera uh it's two kilograms um 4.4 pounds my American friends and when I put it on a tripod on the ball head and I framing is a nightmare um you know how the ball head works you need to release the ball head and it releases in all three dimensions right and you need to frame in all three dimensions holding it then you need to lock the ball head and if you mess up one of the dimensions you need to do it all over again and the worst thing is that when you release it on a tripod something will bend with a heavy camera maybe the ground is like a soft grass right you know and your tripod will bend slightly when you release the camera and you screw up the frame and you have to do it all over again it's almost impossible to do the perfect shot so what the geared had allows me to do and I can mount it on the tripod with the camera and I can release everything and everything one has to bend will bend and after that I can adjust the controls to frame perfectly and that's it Mike I can have a perfect frame um and this one is very light like it's 360 grams 0.8 pounds for my American friends um so overall it works great with my carbon fiber tripod it's very portable combination I can take it anywhere so let me show you how I use it with the camera [Music] [Music] so here it is installed on my carbon fiber tripod and let's look at the controls the first control is for the vertical dimension depending on how you mount your camera which direction it's looking so it moves in 10 degrees plus minus so 20 degrees of overall range the second control is for tilting losing the same range foreign and you can use them together to move them both in any direction you prefer so it's pretty flexible adjustment [Music] and here's the knob that releases the the Third Dimension the horizontal or a panning points too so it's very easy to adjust with a heavy camera [Music] the knob has a nice ability to flip so if it interferes with any other knob you can always you know flip it just by pulling it and this one is the Arca Swiss foreign [Music] with the camera and if you have a huge lens it's also very beneficial to have the point so here's the vertical Dimension or vertical painting [Music] and that way we're changing a tilt of a camera [Music] thank you and panning [Music] so here how I would use it with the portrait mode I have it on the ball head so I can adjust the ball head into the portrait mode and then basically I have all the same controls and controlling all the all these three dimensions uh it's just two of the dimensions are reversed [Music] the horizontal panning becomes the vertical panning obviously [Music] and then the the vertical panning becomes horizontal [Music] and we still have the tilt [Music] that's all I wanted to share about this tripod geared head if there are any other options that you really like leave your comments below interested in your opinion and that's it for today the next time [Music] thank you [Music]
