TREEHOUSE w/ A Swinging Bridge Full Tour! | My Favorite Treehouse Airbnb

today we are in crane hill alabama with brad and mitzi in last week's video we did a tour of their tiny house and they kind of showed us some of the cool aspects of it and their experience with airbnb today we're going to be exploring their tree house that they built themselves this is one of the coolest treehouses i've ever seen and i cannot wait to show you guys everything this place has to offer and they're going to be telling us about their experience with building it and some of their really cool design aspects and choices that they chose to implement into it and i think this is going to be really interesting so let's go check it out [Music] so to start off this tour i'm going to be showing you guys around a little bit on the outside and whenever you arrive to this beautiful tree house like i said we're located in crane hill alabama there's a link down below if you want to check out this place for yourself there's also a link to sign up or host on airbnb if you have a treehouse or a tiny house you want to build anyway whenever you pull up on this beautiful property you are located on 40 acres of private land all to yourself this is a gated area so you open up the gate and you go down your driveway and you have these beautiful trees everywhere and you just start on this pathway up to your tree house they have a couple pathways out here and it looks so gorgeous the first thing you would encounter is this bridge that goes over this ditch i love this bridge it looks like a drawbridge kind of with the ropes it's like you were in an enchanted forest that's what i'm standing on right now as you start walking towards your tree house the paths are all lit up by these beautiful string lights that make this place glow at night this place looks absolutely gorgeous at night with all these string lights and all the lights turned on on the treehouse it just glows out here in the forest it's truly a magical experience the owners definitely had the guests in mind when they were creating this place so on the outside you walk up towards the tree house a little bit more there's a huge staircase that leads up to your tree house but there's also this massive underneath area that has your swinging day bed under here this is perfect if you want to take a nap out here or anything like that it looks awesome there's corn hole over here there's also a hatch hidden door that leads up to the deck of your staircase there's a swinging chair underneath this part of the treehouse and then you just step right down and you have your fire pit area with these two chairs right here plenty of firewood for you to use and with the string lights all around it it's really fun and cozy to be out here amongst all the trees the nature out here is crazy there's these trees everywhere even from the tree house you have this beautiful view of all of the trees and everything like that [Music] there's also some hiking trails out here actually and they're all labeled which is super cool like i said you're on 40 acres so having all these hiking trails out here is something fun to do and explore and even take photos out here and it just adds to the experience one of the hiking trails actually leads to a small pond on the property there is a picnic table out here and whenever we got here it was suited up with a picnic basket some flowers and a bottle of wine which was super romantic and nice and then you got your pond with a pier that goes out pretty far into it with some chairs at the very end of it and one cool thing is that they have this boat right over here that actually works if you wanted to uh get in the boat and go on the pond you could totally do that if you wanted to but these are just some cool aspects of your getaway that i've never seen before in an airbnb now if we go back around under the treehouse there is a pathway that leads up to a separate little building and string lights of course and this is actually your outdoor shower i think this is a really high quality outdoor shower for from compared to the other ones i have seen there's actually hot water that runs to this so you open up this door and you have two shower heads actually and in the middle you have this cabinet that has your shampoo and everything like that so on your romantic getaway you guys can come and take outdoor showers together and with the string lights and you can just look straight up to the trees it is such a cool experience and i came in in here in the fall so it's a little bit chilly so having that hot water out here was really nice so now let's take a walk up your steps and see what up on the tree house has to offer whenever you walk up the steps you have this huge kind of wrap around balcony and you can just see the beautiful windows that is up on here and something to really point out are these doors that they have on the treehouse this set of double doors are from europe from the early 1900s they're vintage and they look so good and then as we continue walking along you have one of the coolest parts of this treehouse is your swinging bridge that connects your tree house to this little patio area over here this is such a cool aspect of all of this and it really adds to the experience of staying here i love it a lot and then you just walk across it and you reach your patio area over here you have a grill over here on the left side and you have a really cool custom-made uh cooler right here you just lift the lid and the cooler lid is just drilled into this wooden lid right here and then the other side over here a couple chairs that kind of overlook your property and overlook your fire pit area savannah and i had coffee here in the mornings and it was just beautiful and such a bliss experience being up high in the trees so now let's bring on mitzi and brad the owners and boaters and ask them a couple questions about this treehouse so we learned last week a little bit about mid-season brad's story about why they started with airbnb and that they have three properties total this is their newest one this tree house it's about 500 to 600 square feet of living space so i wanted to ask you guys why a tree house for airbnb why would you build one well really we just wanted something unique and different to give everyone like a new experience and also we just love tree houses we've always been kind of fascinated uh with a tree house and this one's just us yeah you are the designer basically of this where did you get your design ideas from because a lot of the stuff is super unique and cool i really just looked at other tree houses of course pinterest everybody uses pinterest and just some of the ideas that just things that we thought that we would enjoy and we like we just kind of went with it we didn't really have a specific plan uh in mind it was just kind of we did it as as we went yeah it was a vision she had the vision and i mean and she brought it to life for me by explaining we can do this and we can do this and make it look like this and you know going back i guess into our our childhood days that story she's told and i've told that she grew up in the woods i grew up in the woods and we loved the tree yeah exactly so there's lots of outdoor amenities here that really stand out to me but there's one in specific the wedding arbor over there you guys didn't have to include that but you decided to any way why would you why did you want to include this uh well we had a lot of inquiries about maybe getting married here especially through covid they were trying to search for alternative ways to get married without having to cancel so far we've had uh two or three weddings here just on a small scale yeah a lot of people don't want to spend you know you know a lot of money to get married we all know it's expensive and both our daughter's married but uh but our last one uh yeah about buckling my knees but anyways but we wanted to provide for the that to maybe accommodate for a small waiting setting you know and they could they could come and enjoy themselves and and still be able to get married you know yeah that makes sense had lots of honeymoon so this way you can have the whole package to do i love that aspect so you guys are probably wondering what the inside of this treehouse looks like so let's go take you guys and see what that looks like so you walk through this black door and you enter your enchanted tree house this is definitely a boho vibe in here which i love a lot this is all one big open concept it's between five and six hundred square feet in here so there's lots of space and like i said i really like how much of an open concept it is in here the bathtub in the bed and everything so to begin with on this left side you have your mini kitchenette i would say i like the incorporations of all the shelves up over here you have your sink and then you have some coffee options over here as well and then you have your bed over here it's a queen bed something really unique about it is the headboard is actually mounted on a tv stand on this wall because this is just a big slab of wood which i think is an ingenious idea so take note of that and the wall it's mounted on is this gorgeous black wood and i love the design that they have in it one unique thing about this area as well is at the foot of the bed it looks like you just have an end table but it's not just an end table this is basically like a coffee table that you're supposed to use these pillows and kind of eat your food at or play games at this table right here it's really cool the owners actually built it themselves and that just adds to your overall experience of being here over here on the right side they built this sliding barn door themselves as well and this is where your bathroom is actually located you have your vanity and mirror over here and then your toilet on this back side and just the design and here is absolutely gorgeous i love that they covered up the window with this decor piece the bed faces this whole wall of windows which lets you look outside of your tree house and this makes it kind of feel airy in here and whimsical i love the window design and all of that you have a small fireplace right here in front of it to make it a little bit more cozy and then now you have your beautiful bathtub that is right underneath this window as well i love the tile work that goes off of the wood right here and this is a huge bathtub with the bathtub tray i love the golden faucet that comes out of the ground this is definitely a romantic experience and it just looks really cool in here so overall the inside of the space is definitely well designed it's very very unique and i just love this space as a romantic getaway with your significant other because it's just so intimate and cozy there's no shower in here because that was on the outside remember but now let's bring in brad and mitzi again and ask him a couple questions about designing the space in here so i just gave you guys a tour of what this inside looked like it is seriously truly incredible the mastermind behind it is mitzi she designed all of it tell me what was some of the inspiration behind designing all of this in here to be honest it's really things that i just really enjoy and i really like like the old windows stuff that we can bring back to life that some of the older things like the windows and the the doors is uh just got some history behind them and that makes it kind of interesting the other things is just cool stuff you find off pinterest that you look and um i just make a collection of that and kind of come up with ideas to incorporate it in here yeah and brad you're the builder behind her ideas you're the one that puts them and formulates them together do you ever find that challenging or has there been any weird instances in all this for it to all come together like it has i mean it's it's it's been a step back amazing to me for myself even though we've put our hands on it we've been working and doing the work that that's been done it's just to step back and to know that it's turned out like it has yeah i mean she's yeah i love my wife and she has had the vision and and i'm just to do all the work you know you know yeah yeah it the list there's still things okay this has now got still this has got to still be done this will begin and and you know and that's the part about you know it's the work you put into it if you want to put the work in it then you can get the results back yeah but you've got to put the work in yeah you know so did you build this with the intent to put it on airbnb oh yes yeah definitely so then it's probably really rewarding whenever guests come here and compliment anything about the treehouse so what has been some of the more popular things that the guests would comment on definitely i'm gonna say that they love the outdoor shower i mean uh they've definitely commented uh they love the being able to get the tub bath inside yeah uh but you know outdoor shower does have hot water and people's like amazed that it's where it's at from the tree house uh a little stroll with the robe on you to go to it it's just it's amazing but when you're out there and you're taking that shower and looking up and the moon's out yeah stars are out it's it's breathtaking yes i agree one tree house on 40 acres seems like a lot so what's what's next with your guys's plans yeah we have we hope to maybe do up to four on it and uh we definitely uh hopefully we'll start the next one real in the future man well that's something exciting to look forward there's going to be more treehouse options from these incredible designers and builders for you to come stay at brad and minzy has definitely put the guests in mind
