TREE FELLING. HOW TO TURN A ROPE INTO A COME ALONG WINCH

yeah it's different than mine the mommy yeah if you just kind of yeah yeah I noticed that does though yeah yeah okay yeah we got we got a couple more to do here but the wind has changed like I feel it it's on me here now that might not be good we'll find out it's blowing this way because it was bringing this it was bringing crappy weather and off the ocean which was helping us but now and that balsam will we'll have to see it maybe a slogan fast yeah you put fuel on this didn't you we'll have a lot higher Norse thanks buddy 66 is running great yeah this old six six has been fun to run sure and uh sure it's tight I like it and the old coach Oh let's sing here I love I love wearing this thing I rocked a leather belt and my axe in my my hip four years and I I would say to myself what the hell shoulder straps what are you some kind of a wuss ha ha you know the read breath and now being busted up and how to have that weight off your shoulders it's crazy the difference crazy yeah I'm the worst we've almost got this job licked this shouldn't be too bad we should be able to fight the wind even if it is blowing against us it just sucks fighting wind on big heavy balsam if you've ever banged a balsam over you'll understand what I mean they're they're much different than fur they're heavy because they're full of water right friends so today he's keeping the balsam Hogan's gonna quickly go up and grab this little guy here this little sidearm we should almost show two ropes in a pull rope and a guide yeah so I'll get that's a funny climb that one dinky little three friends you see it it's just this skimpy silly little thing it's got to come out then we got to get that little tree out - I remember thinking about when I was going to Train Hogan that I'd be on the ground yeah look at this old cedar tree that's the original old tree right there it grew out of a big old stump this thing's nuts it's nuts there's the piece we took out yesterday look at it it's just hey wear this thing there goes Ganges here now you can't see now I fully expected it to hang up and there we go so let's think about what kind of ropes we got to hang in this other stem see if you're gonna get any of it from up there you guys see me there now I'm just gonna do a throw line literally just like this friend right just one two three four five is a good number two but I'm just gonna I'm just gonna do this a couple times yeah oh good nice shot Rashad Oh Bakken all I need is a tagline this could just be a running bold line now friends you see so all this is gonna do just keep it off the hoax it doesn't even need to be like like it's gone see how fighting all this foliage it really doesn't matter there we go I'm through it actually there we go so there's our tagline friends good okay friends we got all that goop out of the way there he just seemed Hogan they're not and we got this one left over here I'll just show you the scenario just to give you an idea if you run into a scenario like this what what's what I always talk about is getting behind the lean right anything with side lean has potential to break off like this cedar tree if I was out in the bush I would just fall it I would fall it sideways out there right but it's leaning on the house with a humongous big leader off it right on the corner of the house in the glass death so I need it to go over here this room for it to go over here so we put a tag line in it which is here this is my tag line the low one and we've actually got a pole line in it too to coerce it out of the crown because it's a bit limb bound but here's the deal with the poor man come along you guys have heard me talk about a poor man come along here it is it's plain and simple I take my tag line from the tree right it's in the tree so I want to get back on it I want to pull it off the house so it's very very simple I don't I don't have a hat blocks in that you could easily just hook a block in this but here is the scenario for a poor man come along you can use the butterfly knot which is one two three wraps right I just use a bowline I use a double bowline but the the the butterfly friends if you want to see the butterfly is you just grab the rope and just go one two and you've got three rungs across your hand grab the middle one put it in the middle grab this one pull slack okay it's kind of funny but it works and then just slip it underneath your hand and up through and throw it over top and there you have an inline an i which should work yeah you see so so we can use that as a poor man come along now what we do just so you can see it's not gone around the tree easy like this so you can get way more purchase right like I can yes I can get purchased like this easy I can get purchased by pulling on this but not near as much as I get if I go through here and then back to that away you get a ton more and I'll show you what I'm talking about because what I do you have to undo it so sometimes I won't put the whole rope through I'll just double up like this see but for this I'm gonna pull it all through that I want to fight with it I'm just gonna reef it all the way through like this it's not that long of a rope and here's our poor man come along it's called a poor man I guess because he's got no money for tools so there it is there's the poor man right there and I in the rope around a structure truck anything tree and through your eye now now what you do I should almost show you you just go reef on it that's what you do but I should almost show you the tree I think I will show you the tree on this camera yeah hey we're on the other camera how the heck are you doing so I want you guys to watch this tree as I pull on the poor man come along I want you to see the tree it should it should move quite substantially Wow substantially probably the wrong word watch as I pull on this so now I'll switch you guys up to here so you can see what the hell I'm doing so now I just go back here and I put my foot on the back of this tree watch that tree it should did it move boy let's grab some more of this let's watch it yeah hey we're on the other camera how the heck are you doing so I want you guys to watch this tree as I pull on the poor man come along I want you to see the tree it should it should move quite substantially well substantially it's probably the wrong word but you should be able that's good sunny right there now that we've gone this far I can literally come up over the Riggin and go over the Riggin pull this like this half hitch it it's secure done sit that thinks tag don't friends dunk I'm gonna cut the thing down friends I mean literally look yeah pull straight to the ball but I'm just gonna put it right side hill I talked about utilizing the lean friends right utilize the lean it's leaning out there but between the lean that way and the poor man working on it it's just going side hill it's that simple I'm gonna put my undercut facing right out there after I fire worth it or we'd have to restructure or something so I'm so happy and you should be proud of yourselves very much so so you've there's probably gonna be five videos on this on this job quite a bit of a we got quite a bit of stuff no no we do quite a bit of good footage essentially yeah we do we got good footage little things that we could make a whole video out of because we had that one climb over there yeah that was we could make a whole video that that's true but don't you think it's kind of neat in a job like this son to show them like great where we started and and each tree like the whole job like I did that on the first video should break out the 371 for that anyway friends we're we're grateful we're just grateful now Hogan I want to ask you personally on this what what for you on this job stood out for us was as something you did a victory over there I know you were back what were there humping your big stomach there this morning bring in the cedar you'd never rigged big piece of wood like that now and it was nice because there was no shock or nothing cuz it was all rigged in the back the back bar yes the backs barbacks bar what sort of less that's exactly what it was it was a back bar tree behind me so no shock no shock so Hogan and Friends he got to realize and he got to to feel what it feels like to let would go off of the stem urine and slam into a spar beside you there's no shock he was just like okay this is ghoul cool but his his process in on the way up didn't think of that I yelled it from the ground I said well how about just use nice it's great let's do it so we did it it came out good you know chunking it down for footers or just fire wooden yeah that worked out perfect yeah and you you met things up a bit it did you talked about wanting to do a bit of square rigging yeah Hogan's never slammed wood to us it's not every day but no you have to do it and there's no sense doing it it's nice to practice it I get that right I remember the first time I did it yeah it was it was scary friends I'm not this is not a word a lie I had see that piece of wood right there son but at 810 foot piece of boat 12 inch diameter fur I was on a bank and on the water and I had Ken with me my stepdad okay Lockhart he's probably watching that Lake we love you buddy I had a half-inch rope I'm not lying to you half-inch rope and I had Ken up in the bushes wrapped around a cedar tree couple of wraps and I slammed it and it didn't it didn't break the Rope friends but something happened it broke the case you know the car mental room and I'm like geez well we can't use that no more but it it took it yeah it took it I realize later I didn't know anything about tensile strength since the job load nothing oh I had or the rope and down no I had a rope and a shackle you had your little loop yep that's all I had so yeah friends um great job here but but really we just wanted to say hi and thank his all a boy yeah so thanks a lot friends yeah that you guys are gonna enjoy it yeah and he's took him quite a bit more interest so that that makes me happy so that's good so that thing's all done all right make your frickin eyelets in your boots better I've blown three of these things oh you're kidding me love the boots but I've had that one replaced one on my other foot and now this one and all that crap I've only had these like two months that's not good no that's kind of the West they're great boots don't get me wrong but the eyelets you know you need work together can't be happening yeah and you're not doing anything strange I'm just climbing trees you know yeah no that's not good yeah so is it been all in that that leather pouch only on that see this bottom Oh like they're gonna watch this but down here on this black part where it's like the extra padding or milled up in here no it's here all good it's the eyelets on the black part interesting Canada watch that straight last tree of the job let's do it friends we may as well just run right into this one let's go for it second last we got that maple a little bit it's not really a tree but it is it's cutting so here's this tree it's the last big balsam it's right on the house right here you can see it it's it's a twin it actually now that I look at it should come away not bad I thought we might have to fan Daniel a little bit but we're saving out the driveway with the wood as you can see it so this trees tall friends I'm gonna I'm gonna shoot it across the setting look at how tall that sucker it's a tallest one on the claim sunny it is by far so I'm gonna use the two six six friends so watch this as I cut this it's a solid balsam it's a solid balsam I think I should restart this video actually I think I'm going to just so it's not so long what do you think it's a
