An interesting thing happened. Someone offered us cocaine there. We were offered drugs. And a policeman is standing right here. Friends, this is the city of Cancún in Mexico. It's known as a paradise because of the lovely beaches. There's a beautiful rainforest too. But when we think of Mexico, we think of druglords, and how unsafe it'd be here. So let's explore this place. Welcome to Mexico! This was the longest flight of my life yet. A 12-hour flight. We started flying at 11 in the morning, and it's 11 in the night, European time, but here, it's 5:30 in the evening. Me: filming the airport. That guy here: filming me back. This is what air pressure changes do to the bottle. Many people try to get your attention by shouting "Taxi". Everyone wants you to ride in their taxi. It's very overwhelming. Welcome to Paradise. They did say it was very good for a honeymoon. But, we've already been on our honeymoon. Now, this can be our fifth honeymoon. Honeymoon never ends. There's high humidity here. -Okay. -Let's go. While walking on the footpath here, we came across these huge lizards. What if they attack? Look at how all of them are staring at us. Their eyes are looking at us thinking what's the next move I'm gonna make. What if they attack you? It's a gang, you know. The boss is backing out. The boss is like, "We've gotta move back now." The big boss...oh! What is he signalling? He's warning you, I think. Oh no, it's like... what's here? He's making himself look bigger. -Really? -He's ready to defend...no. He's not ready to defend. And he wants to make us think that he's ready to defend. Let's look at the public transport here first. We're expecting a bus. Let's go. -How many Pesos? -24 Pesos. Let him pick it. This is 10 Pesos. They use $ for Pesos as well. So there's some confusion sometimes whether they're using $ for US Dollars or Pesos. It's the guy at the front. This is the guy at the front. No way! The bus driver is singing. Not the bus driver, the guy in the white t-shirt there. Oh, okay. Not the bus driver. The guy sitting at the front is singing. Overall, their public transport was quite well maintained. It was good. The cost was low too. As compared to how well maintained it was. Had we taken a taxi, it would have cost US$ 30. But this bus ride cost only US$ 1 for both of us. Photo! Photo! Photo! Photo! No gracias, no gracias. Me Llamo Coco. Coco is missing. If you've seen Coco anywhere, let us know in the comments. We might find him. You may have seen him somewhere on the roads. -We'll be on the lookout. -Yeah. Do you wanna buy this? This big one will definitely protect me from the sun. The biggest one? -Look at this. -Yeah. We're here to visit the local flea market. It's called Mercado 28. Mercado means market. Thankfully, I know a little Spanish because for my second Bachelor's course, Spanish was a compulsory language. He doesn't speak any Spanish. I can understand some words they speak. Two words that you should definitely know here, are "No, gracias." It means 'no, thank you.' Everyone's trying to get us to buy their stuff. We need to keep on saying "no, gracias." Coco's Frios. I found those Cocos Frios. Should I get one? Yes! What a question is that? -Yes. -Are you sure? Si. It's very expensive. -One litre. -One litre? There are a lot of options to eat at in this locality. But they look the same. And unfortunately, there aren't many vegetarian choices. There was a restaurant here that had no vegetarian food. Coco? -Oh, okay. -No gracias. It's okay, thank you. No. Among all the dishes on this menu, this tiny section is for us. Burritos, quesadillas, tacos, fajitas, all vegetariano. There's a stereotype about Mexico, that everything's very colourful here. And you can see that everywhere we go, it's all colourful. Everything has beautiful colours. So we ordered orange juice. And... What is this? It's so big. This is about 1 litre of orange juice. It's fresh. And it's MX$ 40. So around US$ 2. Yeah, it's way too much sugar, you can't drink that all. Look at that! This is my ha... This is my hand! And these are mine. For starters, we ordered chips and guacamole. They have been playing music for like half an hour. Now, it's enough. It's very loud. Very, very loud. The tacos weren't so good. It had onions, tomatoes and cheese only. I've had better tacos in Germany. Maybe it was because this is a popular tourist spot. So it isn't as local as we thought it'd be. Let me show you how Mexican currency looks like. These are Mexican Pesos (MX$). They are known as Pesos. This is a note for MX$ 50. This is Jose Maria Morelos' image. He was a freedom fighter. I also have a note of MX$ 200. This is how it looks. She was one of the most famous writers here. The conversion rate is around MX$ 20 = UD$ 1 Interestingly, if you don't have Pesos to pay here, they accept US Dollars as well. Here, the US Dollar is used as a second currency almost. Like they do in Rwanda too. Even there, if you didn't have their original currency, you can pay in US Dollars. It shows how powerful the US Dollar actually is. The USA has so much influence over the world We're having Cocos, coconut water. Tastes exactly like the one we had in Kerala. -I don't remember exactly. -No? We finally got our coconut. Our Cocos Frios. It's not even that cold. -Right? -Yeah, it's not that cold. The coconut is not that cold. But definitely more expensive than in India. -Way more expensive. -Way more! Also, friends, if you've seen Bingo let us know, please. We'll definitely be on the lookout for Bingo. Yeah. Okay, let's leave the market. This was the market. Let's explore the rest of the city. There's a park here. It's another place of attraction in this city. These look like some normal residential houses. And it's interesting to note that the people that live here, have put up this cage for protection. As security. There's also a security camera. So even a normal house has a cage for security here. Why is it so empty here? This is a normal residential area. These are the homes. This tree here I remember seeing this tree in North India too. Even this one. I used to pluck its leaves while coming back from school. Doing this used to be fun. Ah, childhood. I wonder if you were the only one who did this, -or did other people also do this? -Yeah, I also wonder. You'll find street art like this at many places here. Everything looks so colourful because of these. Generally speaking, the roads are very clean here. You'd find some trash at places, but for a developing country, it's very clean. But there's one problem, there aren't public dustbins. Despite there not being dustbins, there's so much cleanliness. It shows that people maintain cleanliness. There's a stereotype with Mexicans that they're always looking for ways to go to the USA by crossing the border. And here's an ad for an immigration specialist, with US passports on it. It's good that they are telling people to put the trash into trash cans, but there aren't any trashcans as far as I can see. Where's the dustbin? Tell me. This is the Parque de las Palapas. It isn't very busy. Finally, we found a dustbin. These tacos look better. Than the ones we had. Wow, look at the different types of dips they have. And they cost like less than half of those. All the eateries here look better than the ones we ate at. An interesting thing happened. Someone offered us cocaine right there. They offered us drugs. And a policeman is standing right here. Right under his nose, in broad daylight! People are offering drugs in packets. Did he really have a packet with him? Yeah, I saw the packet. Oh, was it marijuana? It was full of some green stuff. *Green Stuff* This is their municipality building behind me. The Municipal Palace. Time to go for a tourist pic. Actually, they have this Cancún writing in many places. Not just in one. They have a banyan tree here and a yellow cycle stand under it with a yellow cycle parked here. They have small parks like this at some intervals. They're so green. And they have a diversity of trees and plants. This is a small triangle. There's a garden here too. They named this Garden Huachinango. There are so many places in the city where they plant as many trees they can even in the smallest area. They feel like a forest in a small area. I can't believe the government even provided public gyms. And they're so high quality. What is this? It seems so Indian. Why is this such a hybrid god? Yeah, hybrid of Mexican and India.
