introduced to the egyptian team that are taking part in the bronze medal match against them the slovenian side of boston dennis costanovich do you remember in charge for the bronze medal match is mr you through it if you're new to it don't you worry about that so egypt against slovenia this is the bronze medal match under floodlights here at the egyptian shooting club in cairo they've had their test shots they are ready to go after enthralling bronze and gold medal match for the women egypt just losing out in that one to kazakhstan ending up in fourth place but uh well the coach is back in his seat and hoping for better here how about now oh what a miss i miss for the man who is from cairo this is his local club had that mixed trap silver and egypt fans who are happy to see that but they will be hoping for another medal here about average the 49 year old we saw youth over experience i guess it's fair to say in the final of the women's competition russia against india well slovenia is a team of veterans youngest is kostanovich at 33 years of age no one younger in this competition than 31 years of age and that's uh ahmed zahir who we enjoyed watching in that mixed team final that's silver there's a real boost for the locals here who've put on a wonderful world cup was his partner in that of course but uh i just missed out earlier on a bronze in this format no target cool you saw it came out broken and uh referee was quick to spot that gold medal match of course coming up between russia and croatia and it was a close run thing though main qualification croatia topped with 493 russian federation 483 egypt only four behind on four seven nine and slovenia four six four seven six just ahead of morocco with four seven three so almost an all african bronze medal match but it wasn't to be and so far this is a tight nip and tuck start to this bronze medal match just the one missed so far the same shot missed by the third athlete in each team come out he's shooting well now he's mahelber the 32 year old from up the road in alexandria nice uh elevation and a nice angle for him remember if the points are equal after the 15 shots for each team then it's a pointer piece match it with that distinctive little crouch well i see little it's quite a big crouch isn't it out of etch world ranked 70th 49 years of age just a year older than magik and there's a miss so egypt with the advantage three targets per team left one the advantage for egypt straight down the middle will help nicely for kumar from the docky shooting club now then the hell but oh that looked like i missed to me yes it is is that here oh that came fast and furious the left-hand side he did ever so well so then three shots left through the difference will it be shared points or two for india machek no mistake for him five out of five nicely done vatovic that was a nice one out of the trap for him so it rests on this man's shoulders kostanovich and he manages to bag that one as well so two misses for both teams a point a piece a very very tight opening salvo and the coaches will be happy to have a quick word certainly the egyptian coach always there or thereabouts good shot of the cartridge doesn't go in until you're ready to go safety paramount of course in sports shooting want a piece this time it will be the slovenians who get us underway they will be on the left hand the first three shooting positions way to the left and uh not a good start for magic matavetch best world cup placing for him vatovic just outside a final ninth in leonardo that was the world championships he's been there or there abouts but uh never in with a chance of a medal this would be great for him i'm sure the egyptians had the chance to take all two points in that first series had to settle for honours even great start though from kamehameha as i heard down the middle he's easy for magic better from him the youngster at 33 years of age only his third world cup event that he's been to here in cairo alongside his teammates he has a chance of a medal here that's the one that's tricky high elevation a decent angle away to the right it's always going to be tricky i'll be right on top of your game for that that's an easier shot on the way to the left-hand side so far another tight series of shots for these six athletes kostanovich looking in decent nick come on 34 year old lives in cairo born in giza both iconic names when you talk about egypt of course iconic places that's a miss from the hell but no problems for here the one down the center so then the slovenians the point advantage getting towards the newman of this series that was a tricky one it was nice he dealt with from vatovic looked like a miss flying away into the distance 76 meters it'll land away from the trap so i was going to say a chance for egypt to level things up but kamal misses the one away to the left-hand side so three misses from egypt just the two so far in this series from the slovenians oh and that's a miss well kostanovich needs this one to be guaranteed a point the slovenians all three needed from egypt to keep this at two two you can just see the bounce from kamar after he hit that he was relieved to get that one away now mehlberg it's the miss oh deary mate well no chance to get a point from this even those are here takes the one down the middle and it's three one takes two more points three points to one three points and again the egyptian coach will get his troops together for a conversation he has a lot to say pumping his men up having a chat there with michelle but but it's advantage slovenia at the moment three one they lead and egypt will be desperate not to come forth again did in the women's competition of course and they shoot first in this third series series team shoots 15 each station they get one left one right one center but of course you're not able to count the shots the targets athletes have a distinctive way of getting themselves into position getting themselves comfortable setting themselves some a real wiggle magics of course that crouch some like come on a little bit more considered a little less demonstrative whatever works for you as they shared the points in that first series whatever happens here slovenia unable to wrap it up in this series egypt perhaps able to bring it back to level pegging it's a very good format we've seen it in um rifle and pistol indoor mixed events and team events the points system can be exciting twists and turns at every single stage of this competition for a moment looked like he'd taken a piece out of that but it was a a light in the distance that may have fooled you if you're watching on your tv screen there's the puff of powder and egypt with a chance here the nice thing about these finals they do run on a pace not a lot of time to collect your thoughts that's for sure well they have a perfect nine out of nine and a real chance here to claw the two points back especially with a miss to the right from magic another miss this time from vatovich well are we going to get a hat trick of misses we have seen it in the women's competition no kostaniovich steadies the ship but they are three points behind and a real chance for egypt to get on level pegging here he felt he hit that one your hand has gone up but the competition continues now it was given anyway it's just a nibble i was just checking with the referee who concurred with kamar that one is a miss straight down the middle and a second missing a row from magic that really should not have happened as part of the problem of not being an account if you're in an individual final you know you're going to get a certain amount of left right and centers for each of these positions come on puts it beyond doubt two points coming to egypt and the locals are liking what they're seeing just the one missed so far can i hear wrap it up nicely so quickly and how much angle how quickly these athletes have to react though nicely done from vatovich costanovich to keep the advantage so three needed to keep them one behind really pivotal series this one that's a miss to the left again similar circumstances to his first miss oh dear so here the man who got the mixed team silver at the moment is not doing the business there machek put his hand up because it was only a for everyone as well as yourself that was well done he's certainly getting them to the left in this series isn't he that's perhaps the most difficult of the three can i check just cruising at the moment slovenia isn't it interesting how they were so poor in the last series but all of a sudden it's galvanized and they haven't missed yet in this series 12 out of 12 a struggle for egypt to stay in this series well it's not going to go their way is it i miss from come here but stop says the official well the coach has called the var and so he obviously felt that there was a at least partial hit there yeah official looking a little bit confused but i'm pretty sure it was the one that's just gone but perhaps uh actually we are going to continue so i guess perhaps that has been resolved as the misses the two misses from here the difference between the size at the moment just a point away they will be once we get these three shots out of the way and there is a miss from kamal so perhaps you need to win this to take it to a shoot-off up to five series of five shots this is our fifth series it's been a enthralling bronze medal match nip and tuck it has to be said slovenia in the driving seat at the moment magic is crouching down making short work of his first target on this series it's been impressive it's been a good start for both these teams who will blink first not kmart african champion in cairo here four years ago he's got a couple of silvers in african championships as well would love dearly to have a world cup medal i am short oh that is a miss from the hell but i missed from magic well uh we're gonna stumble towards the end of this series well all of a sudden it's an advantage egypt two misses out of three on that three shot series come out in a good bit of form straight down the middle from the hell but now he's ahead who has been struggling a little bit certainly in the last series missed the first two didn't he no problem there will we be going to a shoot-off still time in this series for it to change around again oh that was a tricky one well dealt with by denis vatovic way to the left below still the one point advantage for egypt with two shots for each of these athletes left in this series come on we'll be very pleased with how he's shooting and the hell but also looking in fine fatal that's better from zaheer world cup silver of course you may remember in acapulco at the beginning of the 2019 season it's his local club so here so he'll feel at home that's for sure and that is another miss from vatovich well not another another miss from the slovenians i think it's kinder to say he's been shooting pretty well actually kostanovich who's missed one doesn't miss that one and the egyptians looking like they're going to and will level out the scores here nicely done just the one miss that's a great comeback no wonder there's a few whistles of approval academic these last three shots because they're not going to get near 14 and another miss even further away because tanya finishes off on this fifth series and it is five points apiece the fifth set and gets two points total score so five a piece five points slovenia five points and it will get even tighter now in this battle for bronze little conversation again from the coach little rub of the shoulders well i think the coach is enjoying his role that's for sure as we settle down to see who blinks first in this bronze medal match so we're just waiting for the athletes to get themselves set for the next stage of this competition five a the piece have kept pulling it back every time slovenia have taken a two-point lead egypt have come back a few misses from the slovenians yeah that's how it feels just a slight pause also reset ourselves now it should be after five series of shoot-off we're just clarifying how we're proceeding here lined up ready we will be continuing with this bronze medal match very shortly oh well they all went to the shooting positions because there was a call of no shoot off but now we are hearing as per the regulations that it will be a shoot-off there we go i think you heard it there shoot off one by one the team with the lowest bib number shoots first one two three in order it is a new event it is uh something that will have a few wrinkles to be ironed out but now we get to the nail biting stuff here so it should be egypt to start the shoot off they're just clarifying to the athletes how this is going to work if they weren't nervous enough already all right and we're underway already as we say it is uh shoot off sudden death shoot off so pressure on magic all members of each tied team will participate in the shoot-off in sequence is what the rules are saying so my helper pressure on him now oh and a miss from mahelba he's now he's calling for the var here and that is that she will just have to wait a second mahal was convinced that he hit that and so we point towards the tv monitor and there's another pause as we see whether that was a hit or not very important of course the bronze medal may well hinge on this fatih just will have to wait and be patient whatever happens he's gonna have to shoot his next up he's had a bit of an up and down bronze medal match so far he's in front of his local club members he is very experienced the 31 year old needs all this experience now well done [Applause] tense moments here to keep slovenia in this shootoff oh it's a miss and look at the reaction from the egyptian crowd here you have to feel for kostanovich but the egyptian coach and the crowd and of course the shooters absolutely delighted they take the bronze medal the women just missed out in their bronze medal match but no mistake here egypt take the bronze in the men's team trap event and slovenia well so close and yet so far have to settle for fourth place egypt then take the bronze the gold medals coming up next between russia and croatia [Music] yes um what's up foreign [Music] then the last final of an excellent world cup i'm sure you'll agree under floodlights again i love the look and the feel i hope you do as well of uh shooting finals under lights our coaches are well wrapped up it's not freezing cold but uh it's certainly not as warm as you might want it to be in egypt right 16 17 degrees and the breeze is what'll just cool you down a wee bit a reminder how this works up to five series of five shots three athletes of course i'll shoot five shots going around the shooting position once and that is a series whoever has the most points on one side or the other takes two points it is the first of six points we'll take gold strong start from croatia mankind getting down to business the youngster kamatsuki dispensing with the light enhancing classes here's a man who never uses them anyway alexi alapoff the gold medalist from athens the bronze medalist from beijing olympics eight individual gold world cup medals had the gold in the mix team as well so he's looking for a second gold and to keep russia firmly atop of the metal table here in cairo yeah bronze medal match went the distance to shoot off egypt taking the bronze well what is going on with russia at the moment kavatsky alipoff i know mamkin struggling is it the lighting this is a really unusual start from the russians who are already four points behind straight down the middle no bother that's not what he's about that's a better recovery another two points for the first series will be going to croatia three shots left they're four ahead and the first miss for the croatians now they look very impressive really uncharacteristic wobble from the russians that's recovered well now i left off finishes that one well but they would at the beginning three points adrift and it is croatia who has a two-point lead after the first series keep the concentration i'm sure is what the croatians will be saying to themselves the russian judge feels the need to come and have a conversation again two youngsters and the veteran out up off gennady mamkin oh look up to this man i'm sure it seems in his career so the russians start this time because they're on the left-hand side rap off from the cska club of course oh what a miss again first time out from alipoff really unusual he has the mental strength though to dig in and find his rhythm again that's for sure what's your negrash the olympic gold medalist in london we do have a high class field three olympic gold medalists in attendance here it's a really strong promotion team you need to be to take on the resources in terms of what they have in terms of athletes coming through the russians amazing amount of athletes coming through really high caliber as well still a point behind though keeping the pressure on difficult one away to the right nicely done by yossip glasnovich just the one world cup goals down in alain in 2019 for joseph looking for a gold in this new discipline olympic discipline of course but certainly a chance for athletes to add to their middle account and to add to time at a world cup evocative sound of the call to prayer ringing here at the egyptian shooting club way to the left not a problem well at the moment it's been dominant from croatia and the russians as you can see have not shot badly but are under a bit of pressure but shooting first if they can keep hitting green the pressure will swivel back onto the croatians 40 year old world rank number three you'll sit board ranked number five quite rightly just telling aleppo not to move whilst sooner crash was shooting oh and there is a miss from your ship kalashnikovich so 11 a piece three shots per team left and there's a miss that's a poor miss from mamkin as well so a chance for croatia aleppo i'll help his team so then three out of three and it's four nothing for croatia it didn't explode in a puff of powder but it was good enough for anton glazevich this then to take the four points and it is four to nothing second series and the two points go to croatia and they are in a very strong position at the moment russia it has to be said or uncharacteristically struggling here and up off just getting his bib number on his back readjusted and imagine that's the reason why they are struggling small margins and all that third series then it could be wrapped up if croatia win here on this series not often you'd think that uh russia could lose to zero no target chords so anton golasovich will have to reset and go again down the middle and bagged quite easily coach will be liking what he's seeing at the moment behind the glasses and the mask lots of covered tests and precautions at this world cup of course being an outdoor and distant sport helps as well and we are delighted to be back in world cup action after almost a year hiatus big year of course for these athletes tokyo coming up and the more time under the spotlight like this the more prepared i'm sure they will feel guaranteed a medal these athletes but what will the color be croatian team with two olympic gold medalists in their ranks won the individual trap world cup last time out of course in nicosia and won it here so you can't ask for a more experienced team russia slightly more experimental this is the 19 year old has made the finals of junior world cups and junior european championships no medals as of yet but mankind certainly at least a silver kabatsuki the 24 year old one junior world cup gold in seoul that was five years ago now and well aleppo has uh gold medals and almost every single event and level steady as she goes so far for croatia tricky one to the right your superglass image makes no mistake mamkin the teenager from kazan looking assured now kabatsuki much better this series from the russians who is going to blink first it's not going to be the veteran in a rich vein of form at the moment looking for a third goal in successive world cups albeit a year apart gold of course an individual here pressure back on the russians excellent shooting bit of an aberration from russia early on in this gold medal match but uh they're back on it kabatsuki not the smoothest action but it's doing the job oh what i miss from aleppo well i think the referee put his hand up and then said it was okay the thumb is up from our egyptian referee halipov is prowling around the shooting position and he's uh wise enough to make use of every bit of technology slowing the final down as well of course perhaps interrupting the rhythm yeah there's a puff definitely i think they rewind it back a bit and there's there there it is you can see the little puff of powder i think the referee is in agreement with him eventually put out harm and up straight away you'll see it well here that's already happened yeah thumb up yeah that's the var system and it's best just able to confirm what alipoff was sure of so it is a good hit target and on we go delay for anton glazevich it won't bother him overly i'd have thought he did just wonder whether alipoff the most experienced man here had stumbled will it be a point of peace will it be a perfect series i haven't seen that in women's all men's finals so far tonight well done tricky one up high and wide so then perfect 15 from croatia pressure on the russians to salvage something take a point and this time alipoff to round it off pressure what pressure point a piece 15 15 excellent shooting from both these teams so 5-1 at the moment croatia in the driving seat at the moment just need a point to take the gold medal and wrap up our cairo world cup event here lots of deep breaths from these athletes fourth series remember if it's all tied and a fifth we go to shoot off like we saw in the bronze medal match the egypt squeaks oh i missed straight away from mankind i don't think the uh paul's didn't much good there here's our lip off obviously done that's the tricky one high wide to the right just the one point needed here so the own this is on the russians they need to win everything if they take the next two series it'll be five apiece and we go to a shoot-off so certainly the croatians with the advantage at the moment first to six remember there is a one point advantage at the moment for croatia yes it was so i'll show back in with a sniff here the world number three showing even he's immortal a mere mortal mountain oh that was a miss and he's not going to challenge that one flying away to the right and he shuffles off to the left and disgusted himself so again croatia what's the advantage russians just have to keep hitting and hoping otherwise it'll be a silver and they've got accustomed to winning gold medals here in cairo not quite the amount of athletes traveling because of kobe but it's a very strong lineup here and across the week as well just a nibble of that when you saw the deviation away to the right wasn't uh a center hit though last of its anton glazevich they closing in on the gold here it's very tight oh and there is a miss but remember a point will be enough so there is a bit of a cushion there so russia really need to hit all three in hope crystal stumble does his job the 19 year old kabatsuki very demonstrative very active now aleppo would rank number 10 nowadays down the middle no problem so hit these three and it's gold for croatia that was a tricky old shot for anton glaston which no trouble this time giovanni cerner crash missed last time out can he make sure now yes he can this shot then from joseph kolasevich to make it 13 a piece but to make it more importantly six to one and croatia it's all smiles because they will take the gold medal here in the men's team trap competition look what it means to them comprehensive and uh an excellent final it has to be said it is fair to say that the russians probably not at their best and croatia a really strong strong team with two olympic gold medalists and of course anton glaston she won the gold in the individual event there's confirmation
