[Music] i just want to take a moment to show you some of our systems here on our beach trip our latest beach trip we have our outdoor changing room which is all right next to our little shower setup so that can come right out um we need to rinse off or do changing we also have our little solar lights top and bottom those are really nice just to give a little bit of lighting on the in the evening coming around here we have our little towel rack which is a very convenient setup to hang things in drive outdoor solar lights which are actually very very strong maybe too bright for this area here we have the alpine mountaineering aluminum folding table which is really nice the green turf and then also just like a traditional welcome mat which is great you know this application or in this type of situation actually we have a lot of sand we also have our little rubber mat here mud mat which is great for the sand if it's going to you know start raining we can put that inside and just have our outdoor shoes there coming up we have the gorilla ladder and these are really nice lightweight small you can be used in all different types of applications they make larger ones which i also have which can go a little bit taller so it's almost like another extra table that you can have and then over here our latest well we have the spray bottle which you've seen before and different pump spray which really makes it nice when you need to you know wash off your just rinse off your hands or do something quick we also just got and this is new um obviously we have the uh the reliance water bottle but this is something new that could be used in just about any kind of build really excited about it this is sitting there for the moment just so you guys can take a look at it and uh it's basically usb which is really convenient so any kind of build you could probably use that basically uh use one of these comes off the five gallon water bottles it's uh used for that so this little blue cap is a reusable cap and that's something that would have to get attached to a pvc and here we have the traditional easy up but we've just upgraded to a clam quick set really nice this has the side walls and also has the floor and just to really allows you to uh increase your space so let's go ahead and take a look this is a 12 on a 12 and a half feet wide and all these side panels open up you can also you know obviously the windows are open or you can get them completely uh closed down which is great now they say you know 60 seconds you can set this up um so just another nice use of space and probably not as likely from people we've talked to people that have them you know easy ups are very prone to catch water and blow away and it definitely a lot more investment but you know having that extra room makes all the difference and you could you know set up your kitchen you put a picnic table in here you have your your bathroom system in here just about anything so you can even make it sleeping quarters it's really nice the last thing we talked about you know with the camper any kind of any kind of build you're doing we saw there's a there's a sprinter van down the way that has a roll of it but the reflective it's very simple to do this reflective you get a roll of it for about 40 bucks or so you just cut it out and you know we have this slit in between our um in between the layers here so that it basically keeps it insulated and keeps the heat down but with the van down the street they just have it right on the outside attached so just something really simple that you can consider and save on your heat or your ac keeping things cool so let's go ahead out inside and teresa is going to show you and do like a little bit of a walk around tour on what's been done inside teresa here from out of office camping i know that mark just took you on a quick tour of the outside of our coleman but he asked me to give you a little tour of the inside this is a 1999 coleman utah we've had it for five years funny story mark was actually doing a job at a client's installing a wall and they had this sitting in the yard and it wasn't really doing anything and he asked them about it and they long story short he did a barter traded some steps for the utah and uh he gave it to me for christmas so technically it's mine but we always say ours so um let's see we'll just start as you come in the front door when you come in the front door little tiny entryway one thing that i think would be great for people to think about is indoor outdoor shoes i'm actually wearing my indoor shoes now because i'm in but boy can it save on the amount of dirt and dust you accumulate here sand so you know you have a pair you slip on when you go out you come in you slip on your indoor um but when you come in uh immediately to the left is um well first of all up a bunk end so we have two king-sized beds um it also has the potential to sleep more you can pull this can all fold down and be a basically equivalent of like a double bed that's the dinette area and then to my right is um a bench that can get pulled out a little sofa that can get pulled out it's kind of like a twin bed so it can sleep a lot of people um which is great if you have a larger family and um so far left this is the one bunk end we actually use this as like our pantry because when we cook and things we just keep our food our dry goods in here in bags we've been known to store like our cooler in there we don't have to do that anymore and i'll show you why in a minute but it's really nice to have that little extra storage behind me is we call this a privy there is a toilet a canister toilet so you can just easily pull the canister out to empty it at any of the dump stations very convenient when we're not using it during the day the top folds down another flat space to store things which is great speaking of the privy you may notice that it is not the original coleman green which is very attractive for some people maybe for me not so much so my mom was kind enough she is a very talented with a sewing machine so i went out and bought different types of believe it or not these are all shower curtains every single one of the curtains in here is from a shower curtain and it's nice because one they're very affordable and a lot of times the seams are already finished it cuts down on the amount of work that you have to do and they are made for this type of environment so you know getting wet having you know you think about it's in your bathroom so they do they hold up really well and they're easy to launder um what we did which i like to always show people is i can't really tell the top of the privy there's a there's a little bit of a netting here it's similar to this with this one we had to go straight to the top because the snaps we wanted to keep the snaps because it snaps into the ceiling we ended up cutting the bottom because it was a little dirty but if you're able to maintain and keep your original curtains and sew them as liners to the back of your new material that is ideal these have a insulating property so they keep the heat out and the cold out depending on the time of year and they also are a room darkening so like when you go to sleep at night and if you don't want to be awake and in the morning really bright light it really does make a difference so if you're able to do that so it's straight to the top highly recommend that and you want to keep all your little your little track clips um you know and they were kind of already on there so that may be a little easier so let's see so traveling this way really neat little storage shelving that it tucks away when we go to pretty much drop the top but it has a little mirror so you can check yourself in the morning places to keep your spices candles things like that paper towel holder we also put one of our hand towels here if it needs to dry we have a sink and it actually works put a new pump in just before this trip mark did that which was great we're not really using the sink this time too much but we like knowing that it does work so sometimes we store things in there but it's nice to have more flat space so what we found was we took a old cutting board that we had now you could of course get a new one that looks really nice maybe a wooden one and we just um mark just double face taped some wood blocks to the back of it to keep it from sliding around and then it slips right down into the sink it doesn't move and it's a nice place that you can do food prep um typically we don't have a microwave with us because normally we are off grid and um obviously we don't take a microwave when we're off grid and we use our cooktop is under here it's a three burner stove and uh works wonderfully um but this you know is also some flat space when you're not using the microwave let's say storage we have lots of storage this thing it's amazing how much storage it has drawers doors that have tons of storage under the sink place to put silverware another under storage here we usually talk like our dishwashing pan things like that under there this year a project that i want to do just in prep for original eventually mark is going to redo all of this cabinetry um he wants to do that but until then um just because we have a lot of other things we want to do with the camper that are i think a little more pressing i'm going to remove all the hardware spray paint it maybe buy new hardware i don't know i think spray painting it'll look just as nice and i'm going to paint all the door fronts um the drawer fronts and then maybe the fronts of the cabinets i think that'll give it a nice little facelift one thing you may notice that's a little different is normally there was a nordic what's called a nordic air fridge here that you know came with the pop-up and it worked great it worked fine for us it was a little small but we were able to work with it but we recently purchased about a year ago or so an ice co cooler which we love and we used to have a problem with like where to put it because it's pretty large we used to keep it in here but when it gets very hot it's hot in there so it has to work harder so mark said you know i wonder if it'll fit where the other fridge is and so i was like i don't know let's find out so we pulled the other fridge out mark built a slide which is really nice slides out i think he did a video on this or he's going to do a video so you guys will see and um you know you can get into your fridge just like that of course you see we put all the healthy stuff on top we're hiding all the all the bad things at the bottom so that's that so that's nice because we did decided to do it facing this way because nine times out of ten we're over here when we want to get something out of the fridge so um and then i usually just use one slide it back in like that and after cooking and it slides out you can still open it reach in and be in the space so it's really nice more neat curtains courtesy of dot my mom the same thing we left the original on the back because again it has that insulating quality and then also it helps with the light if you want to darken it in the space a bit you'll see our little fairy lights highly recommend something like this as well they run off of a usb we use these little battery packs and they will run for days and they use very little power but they provide a nice amount of light so it's nice to have like that ambient light we really like that let's see moving on to this side carpets are great you can buy carpets at any of your target walmart any of those type stores runner carpets we will eventually be upgrading the flooring but for now the carpets cover most of the floor so that's great another carpet underneath the table which i'll get to in a second the dinette had the lovely coleman upholstery nothing against it it just wasn't our style so what i did was um at walmart you can go into their notions department where their fabric is and they have a row with bins of i call it four dollar fabric so basically the fabrics are bundled into these little rolls and they're four bucks in it and i think it was like four yards of fabric and i just cut one down the middle and we just tuck it in so it changes the whole space from what it used to look like and it's so easy to wash because you can just when you come home from a trip like if it was a trip where it was raining and you had to attract a little bit of dirt in you just pull them off throw them in the washing machine dry them and pop them back on we had talked about making covers for the cushions but again it was just it's just one less step so we like less steps we brought some pillows from home to make it a little more like homey mom again dot mom made this runner for us which i think is beautiful and little coasters the table top is maple mark worked on this for days and days and days cutting it sanding it and then putting the urethane on it it was how many coats did we do like three creatures shellac and two coats of pot floor polyurethane yeah so it was a it was a labor of love but man what a difference because the original table again nothing against it it just was very dated um and it was stained and this is just so beautiful we um bought new rubber feet for the legs uh took all the hardware off and spray painted silver gave it a little update it's amazing the update you can do with just like a can of paint and you know a little thought it's just amazing how much you can accomplish um the other thing we did which we passed over slightly that i thought you'd want to know is a lot of people know about reflectives you can buy these in a roll at your local hardware store i'd say like a big box like home depot lowe's and then you can cut them to fit in your windows so they're amazing for insulating against heat and cold they also do a great job of keeping the rain out which is really nice um so we let you you left that out so you can see what that looks like and then you know when they're zipped up you don't even know they're in there um little decorations do go far little pieces of fabric again this is like three dollars at walmart you can buy these and just add splashes of color to your space which is really nice and then also our dinette is a slide out which you may or may not have noticed oh like a bump out bump out yup oh right yeah which is nice because it gives us an extra in here almost two feet of space um and that's nice to have that bay window to sit in that space is really nice um we it comes with a little drop down so we hang we're at the beach right now so we go to you know when we go to the beach we can come back and we can hang our towels these are our bath towels but we can hang our towels here hats whatever i bought these little storage um i don't even know what to call these little storage cubby thingies on amazon i got three i think it was three of them different colors and they're great for just throwing things in we keep like our reading glasses in there maybe a chapstick sunglasses i throw my flip-flops in there just to get things off the floor these are great too to use you can put your spices in there if you wanted to put them like closer to the kitchen or you know things like that kitchen type stuff that's nice uh lots of under storage in the dinette area also it goes all the way in we keep our games in there um bags that like we store some of our soft goods in but again so much storage then over here is our furnace so when it's cold we'll run our furnace it blows hot air out there which is great more storage here mostly our power cords go in here um because that's where our cord comes out to plug in to shore power and then um so heating for the winter and then in the summer we have an air conditioning unit um we did a hack on this too that hopefully mark will um will get a video up about that that has improved the efficiency by a lot and it has a fan so high low fan uh and high low cool with also a thermostat to control you know how cold it gets and i have to tell you it's been very hot here at the beach right now it's a beautiful day but we've only had it at halfway on low and it's actually throws us out of it because it gets very cold uh let's see to this end another bunk this is where we tend to sleep um and again king-sized bed and the curtain same thing these are shower curtains we we i highly advise you leave this if you do this to your own camper leave this netting exposed it does serve a purpose for air to circulate if you're in there um but it allows you know again it just allows air to move through the camper and that's and that's important um we always think about it like coleman wouldn't have put this here if there wasn't a reason so you know as much as you can if you kind of keep that stuff but you can still give it an update and make it look a lot nicer and let's see did that um there used to be a pass-through door here to our front storage box but it was this kind of like fiber board and it was falling apart really badly so um we are actually getting ready to we're thinking about and going to replace our front storage box where we won't necessarily need to do a pass-through so we just covered it up with this is paneling that goes in showers and it's very reasonable very easy to work with and it looks really nice so mark we actually had it for another project for the camper where we did when we removed the refrigerator we used it to seal up a space where there was vent holes and we had this big piece left over so you know you fixed it looks great i think it looks wonderful uh okay so moving along this way more uh updates to the curtains again we kept the original which you saw over there we talked about it same thing with the couch it was this was what it looked like very dark it kind of made the inside look very dark so i again went to my favorite store and i bought originally i had this fabric which i kind of kept it very neutral so that we could do splashes of color with pillows and things like that but then i was back there and i saw this piece of fabric and i fell in love with it so i bought this and this was only two dollars so you can do a lot for very little bit of money it does not have to be an expensive endeavor again this is a quilt my mom made me one year for christmas and it fit in perfectly with the way we like to do splashes of color so i i love using quilts i have a couple of quilts in here from friends of the family and and from our own stash and it does really like you know add a little bit of a splash of color and we did a little bit of sticker decorations on the door to bring some of home here we have a horse farm and yeah so this is it we love our pop-up absolutely love our pop-up so it's been really fun we have some really fun modifications that we're going to be working on to make it more of an overlander type pop-up so that's going to be really interesting to watch um am i allowed to tell some of the like we're thinking about flipping the axle to give us a little more clearance we've got a lot in store for it uh because we want to take it over landing so i'm looking forward to that so i'm glad you guys came along for the tour of the inside well thank you so much for showing the inside you're welcome thanks for showing all our viewers yeah and hopefully hopefully somebody will get an idea or two if you need if you have a question about anything please leave a comment mark and i you know we we try to respond right away he's very good about that um you know please drop a comment or reach out to us in some way if there's something you saw that you're not sure exactly how we did it or you want more um i don't know insight or ideas and please we love sharing the things we've done because a lot of people don't like this was something that i actually learned too like oh why would you cut all that off there you can make more work for yourself you know try to keep it simple you know so it doesn't become a real difficult project because then it's not fun we want to have fun and on the channel we have a coleman section so a lot of things that teresa's talked about those videos if they're not there they will be at some point and we continue just to do modifications we love the coleman it's great even at our home when we have guests because we have a small farm house and when guests come over it allows them to have their own space and lots of space so that they can just uh you know when they come they can really enjoy their visit at our place and yeah good all right all right guys thanks so much again and i'll see you at the next video [Music] you
