what are the top things to do when in ocean beach in san diego california find out next on jaycation hey what's up jaycationers welcome back to another video of the san diego series today we are here in ocean beach the coolest bohemian and weirdest and funky beach in all of san diego and today we're just gonna go check out the shops the restaurants the bars the beach everything in between and you know do the usual cruise around in my skateboard check out a few antique shops that are down the way a few breweries try out some fish tacos if you guys are new to my channel please hit that subscribe give away prizes all right guys let's go around ocean beach and get funky all right jaycationers found a two-hour parking spot here in ob we're gonna go around and check out the most bohemian slash weird slash funky neighborhood in all of san diego right there is pizza pork now pizza port we're gonna do in solana beach but there is a location here [Music] so stay tuned for the solana beach video it's gonna be one of the last videos in this beach series until we move inland here in san diego check out out that's a cool mural we got jimi hendrix on one side and comment below who's that on the other side now this is the main drag notion beach right by the pier and this is where you'll find all the great restaurants bars the original hodad's is here we're gonna have lunch over here by the south beach grill that overlooks the pier even though we're not in miami we're gonna go check out the south beach bar and grill where they have one of the best fish tacos in all of san diego guys so happy hour starts at three i'll be back for that happy hours from three to six i think it's like a dollar off tacos and a dollar off drinks and there's some other specials going on so i'll be back in 30 minutes there's a few other spots around here holding company there's hodad's right down the way so you guys have been to hodad's in the past i've done this on jaycation in my comic-con videos so even though this is a great place there's even a van you can eat indoors they have outdoor seating right now and it's a great spot but yeah we're gonna try something else today since we already did this on jaycation [Music] there are also some really nice murals around here as we've seen already with the jimi hendrix mural yeah pretty cool nice hip area you see when it goes uphill that's point loma right there now we're on narragansett street cruising down checking out the neighborhoods and stuff look at that via madrid unfortunately madrid is locked down right now it's not ob without your typical vw so you'll see a more than a few of those volkswagen vans over here a few halloween houses dressed up there's a few local breweries over here they have belching beaver uh mike hess and then there's this other one that i haven't discovered yet and i might try it out just for you guys this right here is another location of the ob noodle house today is a wednesday and looks like they have a farmer's market they're setting up this used to be the strand sell wings up in here there's also a really good breakfast spot that i've had breakfast here with my friends in the past and it's really good i don't know where it is antiques are also really popular around here so you can go antique shopping furniture gallery look at this old school stores around this area they have a few thrift stores around here but that's cool there's like a city target ocean beach here ocean beach hardware tattoo parlors ocean beach company and breakfast republic shout out to my cousin mooney oleg ali and gigi over in washington we had breakfast over here at breakfast republic a few years back right behind me is belching beaver it looks like it's closed right now and it's a good thing that i know that now because i was gonna go in there for a drink now this is the spot i was looking for kilowatt brewery we're gonna have to check this place out i got a nice little mural here too all right we're coming back after we eat [Music] [Applause] [Music] so this farmer's market starts at newport ave and cable newport avenue is the main street so on a wednesday if you want to come here around four i'm guessing this will be open we also got an ob gift shop here margaritas [Music] [Applause] this right here is the ob brewery and it looks like it's a three story building with a nice rooftop patio when i tell you about those old-school cars looks like there's a bunch of different tents set up here's a few other spots that you could hang out at ob surf lodge wonderland i have had beers here with co-workers in the past really fun times and you can actually overlook the beach too santa monica is what we're on blue water ob so there are some really cool chill spots to grab beers and drinks and some food that's a couple of them check that out san diego surf school that's the sunset garage the holding company has some cool halloween [Music] [Applause] [Music] stuff we're gonna walk back into the south beach bar and grill now and try out the fish tacos because happy hour's about to start all right guys so we're here at south beach bar and grill now i got this pilsner nice refreshing pilsner it's the beard of the day today it's from deadpan brewing it's from temecula the temecula area which is north wine country of san diego but funny enough i got a beer it's a pilsner like i like a light pilsner it's only 275 for this pint and then if you want a bigger beer i think it's like 450 something like that but cheers to that [Music] oh yeah that's a crisp beer i love the taste of a pizza it's almost like you know just like that budweiser but it has a little more quality to it upstairs in the patio you can overlook the ocean beach pier check out people surfing walking around town it's beautiful so we're gonna wait for my baja and mahi taco if you come here from three to six that's happy hour so check it out all right guys so i got the tacos got the mahi and the baja tacos right here you got the beer battered baja taco for 2.95 and then the mahi also comes with this green sauce already got that purple lettuce some pico de gallo some white sauce and then that green sauce to add a little spice to it at the lime too all right guys we're going to start with the beer battered taco and for 295 this is a fat taco you can get it either in corn or flour tortillas i got the flour [Music] that's a quality fish taco guys look at that we got a quality taste to it guys a lot of the fish right there love that white sauce and that green sauce also comes with some rice and beans tasty mexican beans and then the hot carrots yum so that baja taco i just got yo this already filled me up i haven't even got to the mall here dog is chilling in the passenger seat with sunglasses on right guys next up we got the mahi taco it's not as gigantic as the last one but still nice little serving might cost a little more to make yeah that mahi taco this taco is where it's at too whatever it's seasoned in oh it's nice this is a nice taco i'm about to hit the last couple bites in my taco all done guys pretty much smoked the two tacos the beans the rice and the hot carrots up buddy hey sophie you're a local huh you're from here so that's south beach barn grill fantastic and lighthouse ice cream if you want some dessert right after all right guys we're gonna go up to the [Music] pier [Music] we're out here over here people out in the distance surfing you can see down towards pacific beach and la jolla bird rock area and we've covered that in past videos and check that out such a happening spot look at this nice little cafe right here all right so since i'm only at a two hour parking spot i'm just going to attempt to move my car and finish out this vlog so let's see if we can find a spot somewhere where i can park my car because i gotta move it look at this random little colorful house right in the middle of these bigger apartment complexes hi jaycationers so i move my car just a little more north it's pretty packed now around the main part of ob but i went a little north i'm now on volt hare street where the ob noodle house where i got hot wings at uh in my sunset cliffs video happens to be located [Music] all right guys we just reached the dog beach you can get your dogs roaming free around here it's a little inlet towards mission bay right here now we're getting into like the mission bay area but this is the outer banks of it where you can have a dog friendly atmosphere and bring your dog here it's around four o'clock in the afternoon so people are bringing their dogs here for their walks and we're gonna head back towards the pier again and maybe grab a beer before we get out of here what do you guys offer in here living in gratitude is our fall seasonal it's got pink lady apple turmeric carrot and spices to me it's essentially like thanksgiving in a bottle it's a little more savory than sweet i'll take that one i'll take that appreciate it growing up here in san diego people always say obs weird obs you know where all the strange people hang out but i've got nothing but nice people come up to me especially the locals and just chatting about hey you got a youtube channel and you're looking at free kombucha right there so like you know it's a really cool pl spot and i'm sure there are some weirdos but i've come across a lot more nice people than weird people so maybe weird nice people how about that a bunch of lifeguard towers looks like they're just displaced over here in the corner alright guys so i promised that we'd go to kilowatt brewery and try out beer there [Music] i also think the older i'm getting the more i'm suited for ob so yeah i'm feeling the chill vibes over here more bird scooters passing wonderland again they sell some hippie clothing over here hi jaycationer so we're now here at kilowatt brewery you still have to order food along with a beer so even though i'm still full i'm going to order a street taco and i like how they have the outdoor area divided they have walled dividers which is pretty cool it looks pretty hip in here hi jake ishnez so we're here at kilowatt brewery trying their hazy ipa there's actually three locations oceanside ocean beach and cranny mesa and this beer i got is called the jesus hazy ipa 6.69 750 a pint now you still have to order so i got a taco to go i'll just eat that at home for dinner that is a really nice juicy hazy ipa nice and refreshing a little on the stronger side to wind down today very citrusy and juicy and fruity i like it so just across the street right over here is where the farmer's market starts and it's on and popping now but i don't like crowds so i'm not gonna go in through it so i got the alpaca store taco i was gonna get it to go but it's so small i think i'm just gonna scarf it down here but this is four bucks those tacos we just have 2.95 this is the alpha store it's all right it's not bad but i'm just doing it so i can try the beer here at kilowatt yo this place is red really cool decorations here nice black lights and everything pretty cool brewery kilowatt we're headed back to the car and we're going to call it a day [Music] also looks like my electric skateboard is running out of juice it's on red and when it goes down to red it doesn't go it's full speed it goes about maybe 60 percent speed so now i'm just cruising down the road here and hopefully it gets me to my car all right jaycationer so that will do it here from beautiful ocean beach funky ocean beach now if you guys like this video please
