back to the channel how are you doing today if you're new here my name is gus guzio welcome to the channel this is the get ahead family and in this channel i share insights on study abroad for international students starting from your application process down to your admission funding settling in in the uk getting a job excelling as a student and lots of other content for international students in the uk so this video as you have seen from the title i'm going to be sharing based on popular demand why your uk tf student visa was rejected and what you should do to avoid your visa being rejected so in essence this video is for all those who are going to be applying for uk for student visa or those who already applied and got a rejection i decided to bring this video because i made a video with a friend of mine about tefl student visa application we went through everything from document checklist to the process the fees and everything that had to do with tefl student visa application and i see that you guys embrace that video a lot lots of questions lots of interest in that video and i know a couple of people whose visa was rejected even after having secured admission in university and securing cards okay so i know a couple of people whose visa have been rejected and i thought that it would be important to bring this video to you so that when you watch it before if you're watching me before you make your application you can avoid all these errors and if your visa has already been rejected watching this video will help you know exactly how to go about your next application so that your visa will not be rejected a second time okay if you got a rejection it doesn't mean that you your visa can never be approved it only means there are some certain things that you need to put in place before you make that application which is why i usually just advise people if you can make your application as soon as possible because if it is rejected you would have time on your hands to either reapply apply for a review or appeal that decision if you apply for your visa at the time minute if your application is rejected and maybe your school is already in session by the time you sort out all the visa issues time must have already gone and then you would have to resume or travel to the uk very late okay so point number one is that you should try as much as possible to put out your visa application on time and how can you make an early visa application if you receive your cards on time if you do not receive your confirmation of acceptance of studies in good time you cannot make your visa application so how do you get your confirmation of acceptance of studies in good time by paying your deposit in good time i don't want to take you guys all the way back back because i've made lots of videos about all of these things how you can get your deposits waived how you can get your conditions with because usually schools will give you a conditional offer and expect that you fulfill the other conditions before they give you an unconditional offer and give you a cast to apply for your visa so yes if you don't want to write ielts i've done a video of how you should go about it not writing ielts and getting your unconditional offer and i've also shared a few tips on how you can get your deposits with especially if you apply for funding so without further ado i'm just going to go straight into this video because i know i have so much to say and i don't want this video to be too long so if you're new here you're welcome i hope that you stayed till the end of this video i hope that you subscribe before you leave i hope that the content will be interesting enough for you to stay and join the get ahead family so welcome back to the channel if you're a returning subscriber i love you so much guys we just got to 6 000 subscribers and that's all because of you thank you so much for the support and let's get right into this video [Music] there are several reasons why your visa can be rejected i'm going to just give out a disclaimer here i don't work with uk via i don't work with the home office i don't work with british council so please and please this is just me recommendations that i'm going to be putting out based on research and information that i've also gathered i'll be able to share with you guys possible reasons why your visa must have been rejected when you get your decision letter if your visa is approved you'll be given instructions on what to do next if your visa is rejected they would let you know why your visa was rejected and what you can do okay from the visa letter you would know if you should appeal that visa decision if you should apply for administrative review or if you should make a fresh application altogether all of this would be in your decision letter so please the disclaimer here is i do not have the power to give out visa i'm not saying that what i say here is find out because usually rules do change and i'm not saying that if your circumstances fall into any of the reasons i'm going to share here that definitely you have to do what i'm going to recommend or that if you do what i recommend your visa would be approved all i'm saying this video is a guide it could guide you into doing more research into correcting errors that you would have made before making your application so that's the disclaimer let's get right into this video now before you make your visa application you should be able to gather information on the uk vi website on the documents that they will need the eligibility requirements and everything you have to do just to complete your visa application and get it approved usually as an international student you're supposed to get a confirmation of acceptance of studies that is cast from your university usually when you get this cast it comes as a document with so many other information comes with your university address different information that you need in the main visa application so apply for your cards in good time so that once your cast comes you have a lot of information in your cast to transfer to your visa application form why i usually advise that you try to make this research before you just throw in your application is that your visa application fee would not be refunded whether your visa is approved or not the only fee that will be refunded is usually your immigration health surcharge fee so when you know that your application fee is not going to be refunded you just have to be very careful because not everybody have money to throw around like that to make multiple applications over time because the more you apply the more money you're going to spend okay now the visa application form is a very should i say technical application form when i did my tefl visa application i did it by myself i know that there are so many agencies out there that would tell you that oh i'm gonna do your visa application for you do take note that some of these agencies their interest is not to get to a visa is to get your money okay some of them just need to get your money because they are in business and they'll just put out any application there they might not even tell you the truth if your documents are not complete because they need your money much more than your visa they need your money so because once you pay them the money they are going to go ahead to make your application and they'll tell you that it is not in their power to approve the visa so definitely if your visa comes out rejected they are not going to take responsibility for it except maybe the reason for the rejection in the visa letter you know you can trace the reason back to these agencies all i'm saying is if you can by all means do your visa application by yourself do your research by yourself because it's going to guide you the more you reset the more clarity you'll get the more grounded you will be just sit down and do your application i remember when i did my visa application i did it at night because i noticed that the network wasn't really stable in the day so i had to do my application at night and the way that application is if you fill the form and you don't save you might have to start all over again it is highly recommended that you make your application where you have stable internet connectivity good source of power and you save at every page okay before you log out so that whenever you come back you can continue from where you stop now let me go straight to you know highlighting some reasons why your visa may be rejected and why you should guide against it during your application just so that you would not waste your money and time so the very first reason why most visa applications may be rejected is not filling the visa application from correctly or inserting incorrect details in the visa application form which is why i say when you have your cast the cast number comes with a document from your university stating a lot of things the cast number will state the university address it will also carry the kind of degree you are carrying how you were assessed to be given the admission the qualifications you used everything comes in the cash document and is advisable that you transfer the information in the cash document into your visa application form that way you are not guessing i know there's a question they're always asking about qualification you're going to receive and usually it is not like oh llm bl or something it's like band seven band six they want to know what level your course falls under and this information is in your cast document so if you are not setting about an information don't feel that please just leave it blank and go and research if possible email your university because if you provide the wrong information and they they see it in your application that the information is incorrect whether you knew it or not that is none of their business they are going to reject the application for inconsistency so you have to ensure that everything you put there is correct and if you are in doubt please ask that is why you need to start your application in good time if you start your visa application in good time and you get to a point where you are not sure of this information instead of providing guest answer pause save it go and do your research call somebody call your tutor call your university and make sure that you get the correct information before you proceed if you have inaccurate information or inconsistent let me use inconsistency instead of inaccuracy some people may have changed their names maybe from their undergrad degree they had maybe you got married you are now bearing a different surname maybe when you had your your passport your in your travel documents you had a certain name now you have another name you changed your name for one reason or another if you have any inconsistencies like that in your document you need to write a letter explaining this is not compulsory this is just a recommendation but from what people have said anytime they had any inconsistency in their documents all they needed to do is write a letter explaining the circumstances okay just let's say you had a gap year maybe two years gap you didn't maybe you didn't you were not under any employment or any education during that period you explain it in your visa letter oh your name is no longer my name is no longer you say my name is i just upload the documents like that and they are saying one document is very inquisitive you say one document is very good mano so which one is the correct answer i would have to write a letter to the uk vi the home office explaining that oh prior to now my original name was kusama issei and i got married and i named the acoustic emmanuel here is the certificate marriage certificate here is the publication uh to show that i officially change my name just so that every eye is dotted every t is crossed so that whoever is accessing your application would have every information and would not have to come and start calling you to ask oh what is this what is that i know that in some people's application they reach out to them send them emails to clarify but how many people would have the energy to send you emails to clarify your errors so please clarify all inconsistencies in the visa letter before you submit that application also if you submit incomplete documentation for instance when you're done with your visa application you're going to be directed to go and print a document checklist a document checklist contains all the documents that they want you to provide the document checklist they want me to provide may be different from document checklist they want you to provide let me give an instance for me that i was a funded student under the approval funds i only had to provide my sponsorship letter okay that's my scholarship final award letter that was enough to prove font for me but for you who is not a funded student and you are self-funded let's even say that the funds are from coming from your parents you have to provide a bank statement you have to even especially if the person funding you is not your parent bearing the same surname you have to explain write a letter explaining the relationship you have with that person or with that institution and why they are funding you these are just to avoid gaps and questions and doubts whenever the person is accessing your application just so that all your documents are in order and if there's any confusion the person will see that in the letter you have done all the explanation so please ensure that from the document checklist you upload all the relevant documents sometimes they ask for your ielts certificate sometimes they ask for your a level certificate it asks for different things so please based on your circumstances don't go and say oh because this person uploaded this document submitted the document let me follow and do it stick to your own document checklist and every other additional document should be to clarify or explain any circumstances that may bring about doubt in your visa application i hope this is clear and if you're enjoying this video do also give it a thumbs up to go to share with someone let me also know your experience have you ever had your visa rejected do you know anyone whose visa was rejected do you know the reason kindly share in the comment section so that you help people watching this video another thing that may cause a visa rejection especially in the uk as an international student is when you are unable to establish your place of residence when you arrive in the uk for instance they are going to be asking in your visa application where would you reside for me during my visa application because i knew that i was going to reside in a student accommodation even though i was not yet allocated a particular room i already knew that i was going to resign in a student's accommodation so i provided details of my university accommodation i provided everything linking me to the fact that i'm going to be residing in the student accommodation i've had a couple of people ask me questions in the comment section of my video asking me oh i'm going to be staying with my uncle in the uk i'm going to be staying with a family friend i hope that's not going to be an issue that shouldn't be an issue of course but what i would advise is if you're going to be staying with an external person other than your university or in a place that you are not paying the rent because i would say that if you're not staying in the student accommodation and you're staying in a private place all you need to do is provide the tenancy agreement oh that you have secured this particular place and you have paid the rent and here is the tenancy agreement so you have a valid address in the uk but if you're going to be staying with a family member a family friend who has invited you to come and live with him in the uk live with her in the uk the ideal thing for you to do is to get a sponsorship letter from that person explaining that oh you're going to be residing with them in the uk for for this period of time foreign if you're going to be residing with them in the uk for six months and your program is one year let them provide that letter that you're going to be residing with them for six months that here is their address and all of that so that means you have a place to stay for six months do not just end there where would you stay after that six months remember your program is one year so you have to provide evidence of where you are going to stay throughout your time in the uk for instance if you're going to stay with them for six months and they've provided a letter and you know that after six months you're going to have to move out go and get your own private accommodation or get a student accommodation you can at least for that time provide your university address universities accommodation address and say that from the center period you'll be staying with them or you can actually tell them to just say that you're going to stay with them for the duration of your program when you get to the uk even if you don't stay there for the entire duration it's not going to be a problem all the uk vr and the home office needs to see is that you have a place that you are going to stay a valid place you are not going to come to the uk and be roaming the streets you are not going to come to the uk and start roaming around not having where to stay because it's a big problem so please in your application ensure that you are able to establish your place of residence especially immediately you enter the uk for instance if you're going to be getting a private accommodation and you are yet to secure it it is advisable that you book a hotel accommodation provide the address that you have put and also an explanatory note that i'm going to be residing in this hotel for this length of time and you're already in contact with a property manager in the uk who you are going to rent a private accommodation with okay all i'm saying is just ensure that there are no doubts as to where you are going to recite throughout your time in the uk that way your application will not be refused based on that i think the most popular is insufficient fund okay one of the most frequent reasons why tf for student visa applications are rejected is insufficient front and this does not mean that the applicant did not know that i needed to put some money in the account or show proof of funds in the account is usually maybe disparity in figures or your inability to calculate how much exactly would sustain your livelihood during the video i made with a colleague of mine with respect to the amount of money you need in your proof of funds i would link that video here so that you can watch it after this just so that you know exactly how much you need in your proof of funds so usually it depends on the city as at the time i made that video that was 2021 and at that time cost of living in london was about 100 1 300 pounds what i'm gonna advise you is this go to your university website and check the cost of living in your city because there's usually a spreadsheet you know showing the cost of living in the city especially for international students go to that website and check so that you have an idea of how much is the ideal cost of living in your city for a month and then you multiply that by 12 or by the number of months you're going to be staying in the uk if it is less than 12 months another thing is for you to go to uk vi website and check the cost of living in the uk okay check if you're going to bradford what is the ideal cost of living in buffalo if it is calculated or estimated at 1 000 pounds per month that is your accommodation your transportation your feeding and all if it is um you know estimated at 1 000 pounds per month and you're going to be schooling for 12 months it is advisable that you put 1 000 pounds times 12. that is 12 000 pounds and if you care please add more you can extend it to 13 000 pounds okay another thing is your tuition fees if you already have paid your tuition fees let's say you've already paid your complete tuition fees if you have it's going to be reflected in your cast so all you need to just put is about thirteen thousand pounds showing uh you know that you have one thousand pounds each for a month and an excess of one thousand pounds okay however if you have only paid a deposit for your tuition you need to show front that you have enough money to pay the rest of the tuition fees for instance if your tuition fees is 15 000 pounds and you have paid a deposit of 5 000 pounds you still have 10 000 pounds to show that means in your proof of funds you need to show that you have 10 000 pounds plus the cost of living in the city you're going to be living for 12 months which is additional 12 000 pounds so you need about 22 000 pounds and above so usually is this disparity this you know uncertainty you don't know exactly how much you need to find out exactly how much you're going to be spending so that you would put the exact amount or something a little above what you need so that you prove sufficient fun another thing that people get it wrong is the number of days that you need to prove this font so i'm just going to read what i have here approve of fonts must be there 28 days prior to your visa application please and please do not go and submit your visa application and now put the money there to start counting i would advise because the thing is when you submit your visa application you will now have to upload your document and then you will now have to pick a biometric capture date okay once you capture then your visa application would take at least 21 working days for it to be reviewed and you don't know which of the dates is to be reviewed it could be reviewed on day one day 7 or day 21. so it will be advisable for you to put in your proof of funds at least it's 28 days on the website but i usually advise people at least 30 days for instance if i want to make my visa application on first of june i want to put my proof of funds at the list or at the latest first of may let your money be in your account at the latest 1st of may so that by 28th of may you have your 28 days and then by 29th 30th of june you can submit your visa application that way you have given yourself enough time to cushion the effect of any day that you know would have affected your visa application another thing is that while submitting your approval funds the bank statements you use to show disapproval funds it must be printed recently for instance let's say that the money in your approval funds you already had it six months ago that is fine the 28 days rule will not really affect you because the money has been there in your account however do not print a bank statement of six months ago to go and show them okay for instance print the bank statement at least 31 days before you submit your visa application so i give this example again if i'm making my visa application on first of june and my money has been there from january that's six months to june right i should not submit a bank statement that carries a date in march or carries a date in february or january just print your bank statement from 1st of may from 1st of may to 31st of may is the ideal time to print the bank statement to carry a recent date then you can make your visa application because if you submit a bank statement that was printed three months ago or that was generated three months ago it doesn't work with the 28 day rule because it will seem like maybe that money is not there or maybe they don't have um they may not be able to verify or whatever reason they have just advised that you print the bank statement within 31 days before you make your application so please stick to that because any little thing can make your visa rejected and you don't want that because apart from the money that you've lost the trauma that comes with it emotional trauma and everything i don't wish you that that's why i'm making this video just for you i hope that this video has been helpful if you've learnt one or two things do well to give it a thumbs up let me also hear your experience in the comment section do you know anybody whose visa was rejected do you know the reason please share in the comment section you would definitely
