[Music] what's up guys i'm bob tompkins with real broker llc and living in south carolina and in today's video we're going to be talking about the top five reasons you should move to anderson south carolina now before we get started you may be asking the question where is anderson south carolina anderson is located on the western part of the state it is about 30 minutes west of greenville south carolina 10 to 15 minutes south of clemson and it is the last town that you will go through before you hit the georgia state line about 20 miles from georgia so it's a great town nestled on the west part of the state and let's hop in to those reasons why you should move here reason number five is the proximity of anderson to clemson university now you can probably tell based on the shirt that i'm wearing i am not a clemson fan in fact i'm far from it however it is impossible to ignore the benefits of being located so close to a thriving university at this time probably you've heard of clemson due to the success of their football team over the last five to six years they have had one of the most dominant football programs in the country and that has had a tremendous impact on the area around clemson obviously when you have a great football team there is a lot of money that comes along with that that means that the university is spending a lot of money in the upstate a lot of people are spending money to come and watch them play football and that has a great economic impact anderson has seen a huge benefit from this you see it largely in our airbnb market as well as on game day there's a ton of money being pumped into the area as people travel to come see the tigers play the fourth reason you should move to anderson south carolina is the livability our downtown is being filled with great restaurants bars and even breweries in fact anderson is starting to develop a little niche for itself as a brewery town we have carolina barn house which is one of the best sour breweries in the southeast as well as electric city brewing and a couple more breweries that are on the way in addition to this downtown you have clemson boulevard which has pretty much everything you could want in a small town you've got all your big box stores plenty of restaurants as well as a mall for shopping this gives anderson a huge variety of things to do which is essential when picking a place to live the third reason you should move to anderson south carolina is that it is centrally located between atlanta georgia and charlotte north carolina now the central location between atlanta and charlotte actually does play a large role in my number one reason you should move to south carolina but we will get there at the end of the video however the central location of anderson between atlanta and charlotte means that you do not have a lack of those big cities a lot of times people want to be in big cities because of the different concerts sporting events and different events that go on in those big cities because we are located less than two hours away from atlanta and right at two hours from charlotte if there's ever a big event a big sporting event that you want to go to it is not outside of your reach to get to those events the number two reason you should move to anderson south carolina is the taxes south carolina in general has very low income and property taxes this makes for great livability the ability to work on a lower income and actually have a higher quality of life than many places in the united states and the residents of anderson actually benefit even more so being in anderson county as anderson county's tax rate is much lower than some of the larger counties like greenville richland charleston county so anderson residents get to take advantage of lower taxes which means a higher quality of life even if your income is slightly lower now that brings me around to the number one reason you should move to anderson south carolina it is one of the biggest reasons that my family is located here and why me and my wife decided to purchase property in anderson and that reason is possible equity growth there's the true opportunity in anderson to build financial well-being through owning property and that is because of the location of anderson because we are only 25 to 30 minutes away from greenville south carolina we are beginning to see the benefits of greenville thriving which of course leads to an increase in property value as more people move here now in my third reason where i said we were centrally located between charlotte and atlanta this actually has the potential to play a massive role in property value growth in anderson south carolina since about 2013 there has been rumors of a high-speed rail running from charlotte to atlanta it's almost impossible for that high-speed rail to exist without going through anderson county now as that project continues to be fleshed out and almost inevitably put into action we are going to be a huge beneficiary of that because it's going to turn a commute time from anderson to atlanta into like a 30 to 45 minute train ride which could lead to the same type of economic impact you see a lot of the suburbs around your bigger cities experiencing allowing anderson to effectively become a suburb of the greater atlanta area and if that does in fact take place we will see substantial equity growth in our property value so it is one of the things i am most excited about and one of the reasons i am proud to call anderson home and i look forward to the future of living
