Top places to visit in Malaysia. Not only the Capital city we will explore
other parts of Malaysia too. We will discuss about information,

Map of Malaysia. First we will discuss the places in the
Capital or near to it. The exact location of these places can
be found in the description box. 1. Batu Caves. This place is located 30 minutes away
from Kuala Lumpur. This Temple is dedicated to the elder
son of Lord Shiva, Lord Kartikeya. This is one of the biggest Temple of
Lord Kartikeya, here you will find a 42-metre-tall, gold-plated
idol of Lord Kartikeya. You need to climb around 272 stairs
to reach to the Temple. Millions of Years ago,
this place was submerged under water and the
caves were formed naturally. This is the top most attraction of
Malaysia. This place has the largest idol of
Kartikeya in the World. After climbing
272 stairs you will find 3 big caves
and a few small caves. First cave is 100m tall and is named
Cathedral Cave. Here, you will find many Hindu
Temples. The other 2 are called Art Gallery
and The Museum Cave. You will need around 2-3 Hours
to explore the Batu Caves. This place is around 90 minutes
away from Kuala Lumpur. You will find some Naughty Monkeys
over here so be careful. This place is open from 6AM to 9PM.
The entry is Free. 2. Petronas Twin Towers. This is the World's Largest Twin
Tower. You can also visit
the Observation Deck over here, you will
find a Fish Aquarium, Food Court, Shopping Mall, Galleria
and many more places inside. It is among the Top attractions of
Kuala Lumpur. The Petronas Twin Tower is
the biggest attraction of Kuala Lumpur. It is also the World's tallest
Twin Tower. The height of this Tower is 451 Metres. The connecting Skybridge is
located at 170m height. You can take an extra ticket
to observation deck, where you can get a skyline view
of the city from the 86th Floor. You will find 2 more
popular attractions nearby, they are KLCC
Park and Aquaria KLCC. There's a Shopping Mall on the
Ground Floor, you can also have your meal at one of the many food
shops or restaurants available here. Timings: 9AM to 9PM It is closed on Mondays. The ticket to the observation deck costs
RM 80(Adult). You can see the remaining information
on your screen. 3. Menara KL Tower. This place is also known as Menara
Kuala Lumpur. This place gives a tough competition
to Petronas Twin Towers. It is more than 400m tall and has
a unique revolving restaurant on the top. You can also do the 'Tower Walk'
to watch the view of the city from top. KL tower is 421 Metres
tall and provides a beautiful aerial view
of the city from the top. Here you will find
a free standing revolving restaurant
and an amphitheater. It is also home to many fast-food
restaurants and game/gift shops You will get a tinge of Islamic
Architecture in this tower. During Ramadan, many people visit this
place to watch the Moon. This place took 5 years to make and
was inaugurated on 5th Oct 1996. That makes it one of the top
attractions of Malaysia. It is open from 9AM-10 PM
and the entry charges are RM 60(Adults) and RM 40 (Kids). 4. KLCC Park This Park is located just 5 km away from
the Petronas Towers. The water fountain is the biggest
attraction of this place. It works throughout
the day and a symphony show is organised on
8PM, 9PM and 10PM Daily. The entry is free of cost. You will find the KLCC Park just
behind the Petronas Towers. You can watch the famous lake
symphony here. This show comprises of lights,
lasers and water fountains. This can be only found in the KLCC
Park. It comprises both nature and man
made wonders. Not only International tourists, many locals also come here to spend
their evening. You will see a Lake Symphony
show and a Children's Public Pool. From here you can reach the Mall at
the Petronas Twin Towers. This Park is open from
7AM-10AM, timings of Lake Symphony show
can be seen on the screen. This place has no entry charges. 5. Bukit Bintang This place is also known as the
entertainment capital of Kuala Lumpur. Similar to the Times
Square of New York, Bukit Bintang is the city
center of Kuala Lumpur. You will find the top malls and
best nightclubs in this area. You will find many live performances
on this street plus it is always crowded. You should not miss out on the city center,
Bukit Bintang of Kuala Lumpur. It is a very big shopping and entertainment
center, where you will find many shopping stores, luxurious Hotels and many
night clubs. Bukit Bintang is
famous for its nightlife, this place also hosts
major celebrations like; Mardi Gras, New Year's Eve and
Christmas Celebration. Reach this location is very
easy as all the public
transportation like bus and metro is directly
connected to here. It is open throughout the day and the
entry is free. 6. Sultan Abdul Samad Building. This location is
located in front of Merdeka Square, Kuala Lumpur. This building is made in Morrish
architecture style. This building was dedicated
to <i>Sultan-e-Selangor</i> This place is now a big tourist attraction
for the people of Kuala Lumpur. If you are a lover of History and
Architecture, you will love this building. This building was designed by A.C Norman
and A.B Hubbock This place now serves for Superior
Federal High Court. Earlier this place was used as Superior
or Federal or High Court. Later these Courts were shifted to other
places. Now, it is home to Ministry of
Information and Culture, Malaysia. You can visit this building at any time,
but it is closed on Saturdays and Sundays. This place has no entry charges. 7. Merdeka Square. I am at the Merdeka Square. It is also spelled as <i>Madrika Square</i> This is the exact place
where the announcement of Independence of Malaysia
from British rule took place. The biggest attraction of this place is
the 95 metre tall flag post. Merdeka Square is also known as
<i>Dataran Merdeka</i> This was the first place where Malaysians
celebrated their Independence day. This place is now a big Tourist
attraction. Merdeka Square is located near to the
Abdul Samad Building. From here you can see the KLCC
Gallery and KL Textile Museum. From here you can take the
hop in hop off bus. You can also enjoy the light
show that takes place at 9PM every day. This place is open throughout the
day and has no entry charges. 8. Little India. The place where Indian community stays is
called as Little India. Similar to how China Town represents
Chinese culture. Majority of Indian ethnicity people
stay in this area. You will find many Indian shops,
restaurants and some Temples too. You will find an Indian
Market, <i>Bhartiya Bazaar</i> specialised in Indian
<i>Sari</i>, Bangles and Jewelry. You will find a relatable place in the
Bricksfield area of Kuala Lumpur. That place is none other than
Little India. You will find all the Indian
Dishes like Samosa, Vada Pav, Lassi, etc. at cheaper
rates in the Little India. Similar to the Indian Markets here you
will find a market that resembles to all Indian shops. You will find many
Indian restaurants, that will provide you an Indian
Meal at affordable rates. All Indians must visit this Little India. This place is open throughout
the day and has no entry tickets. 9. National Mosque of Malaysia. This is the biggest mosque of Malaysia and
it is unique because of its roof. The roof is made in the
shape of Umbrella and is around 74m high
and has 16 pointed stars. It represents 11 states of Malaysia and
5 pillars of Islam. It is also known by the name:
<i>Masjid Negara</i>. The tomb of the mosque is 74m tall and it
is also open to Non-Muslims. This place is known as National
Mosque of Malaysia. It is also known as <i>Masjid Negara</i> This place can accommodate 15,000 people. This place was opened
in 1965, you need to follow some rules
to enter the Mosque. You need to wear that clothes which cover
up your shoulder and knees. You also need to wear a cape provided
by the Mosque to enter it. This Mosque is open from:
Sat-Thu 9AM-11PM On Fridays 2.45AM-6PM. This place has no entry fees. 10. China Town. Travel all over the
World, you will find poeples of 2 ethnicities that are
Indians and Chinese. Chinese People have a strong influence on
Malaysia. Most of the Chinese people stay
in China Town. Kuala Lumpur's China Town
is very big, There are so many places
to explore in China Town, it will take your day's
time to explore this city. If you want to experience authentic Chinese
Food, do shopping, or buy souvenirs this is the place
to visit. It is a place where you will find multiple
attractions. You will find the famous Petaling
Street Market in this area. The famous Chinese Temple is
located in this area. You will need atleast a day's
time to explore this place, this is the perfect place to shop
gifts for your loved ones. Kuala Lumpur's Central Market and Kasturi
Walk is located in Chinatown. This place is open throughout the day
and has no entry fees. 11. Central Market I am at the famous China Town's
Central Market. This place is cleaner and prettier
compared to to other markets. Even if you don't want
to shop you can go inside and enjoy
snacks at the food court. A long time ago this place used to be
very filthy. This place has now been covnerted
into a heritage hub. So do come here and also visit its nearby
attractions. That are Kasturi Walk and River
of Life. If you are looking for
a place with less hustle bustle, good quality
products and great food then, Central Market of China Town
will be perfect place for you. This place offers Shopping complexes,
Heritage Walks, Food Courts and Malyasian Culture. In this Market, you will
find the popular Malaysian Coffee chain, OldTown
White Coffee's Outlet. Here you will also
find the famous food street, Kasturi
Walk nearby. Here you can spend your quality time,
on the other side you will find the famous River of Life. It is open from 10AM-10PM and
the entry is free of cost. 12. Jalan Alor. Jalan Alor is heaven for all the
foodies visiting Kuala Lumpur. You will find both
Vegeterian and Non Vegetarian food in
all these Restaurants. This reminds of
Trade Festival of Delhi, where you find food
stalls from every state, Jalan Alor is similar but it is
a permanent food court. Jalan Alor is the biggest food hub of
Kuala Lumpur. It is also known as the Alor
Street. You will find the best and busiest
restaurants of Kuala Lumpur here. Most of the shops serve the local
cuisines It will be exciting for you
to explore this place. This place has interesting history. Earlier this place used to be ad red
light area, now it is converted into a tourist destination that serves
thousands of varieties of food. The food here is cheaper to
other places. Here you will find
restaurants serving Street food, Main
Course, Drinks and Snacks. This place is open from 5PM
and has free entry. Let's talk about the
places that are located in South of Malaysia
near the Malacca City. 13. Dutch Square. Also known by the name, Red Square as
all the buildings are red-coloured. This place is declared as UNESCO World
Heritage Site/ City. Earlier a part of this city was under Dutch and Portuguese Rule. This place is now a city center. This is the biggest picturesque place
of this city. In the center of Dutch Square you will
find the Queen Victoria Fountain. This old fountain was made in 1901, On the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The Dutch Square was made in between
1660-1710. Daily events are organised for the
Tourists in this Square. [PERFORMANCES] Mallaca Dutch Square is open throughout
the day and has no entry ticket. 14. Jonker Street. This is Mallaca's most happening street Jonker Street is Mallaca's biggest
party and shopping hub. If you want to know
more about the Malaysian Culture, then you
should visit this place. You will find many shops where you can buy
souvenirs, textiles, shoes, purses, etc. Jonker Street is the most famous street
of Mallaca. It is the best place to buy antiques,
garments and souvenirs. Jonker Street was home to all the
antiques around the globe. With time, Duplicate Antiques started
to flow in the market. Antiques Shop lost its popularity with
time, All the tourists must visit this place. This place is open throughout the
day and has free entry. 15. Melaka River Cruise. Melaka Cruise is a 30 minute cruise ride
on the Mallaca River. This cruise will take you to attractions. You will enjoy the cruise ride and also
watch the top attractions of Mallaca City. Melaka River cruise is situated
on the banks of Mallaca River. This is a cruise ride that goes around the
city, The Journey is 9KM long, 35 minutes
ride. It passes under famous bridges like,
Jawa Bridge, Pasar Bridge and Tan Kim Seng Bridge (1862). You can see the famous buildings
during the trip: Christ Church, Stadthuys, Jonker Street,
Photogenic Abandoned Building, etc. This cruise is the best way to explore
the city. Timings: 9 AM-11 PM
Tickets: RM 30. 16. Melaka Museum Complex. This is the oldest Church of Mallaca as
well as South East Asia. You will see a Tombstone
on the walls of this building as well as a
statue of St. Francis Xavier. This area is part of
the Museum Complex which comprises
Amosa and Church. This site is a UNESCO
Heritage site which is visited by many
tourists around the world. St. Paul's Church is a part of Mealaka
Museum Complex. You can see the Major attractions of
Mallaca in this complex, like A Famosa, Saint Paula Church,
Sultanate Palace Museum. Duarte Coelho constructed the St. Paul's
Church. He was a Portuguese Captain and he made
this Church in respect to Virgin Mary. According to him,
Virgin Mary guided him during his sea explorations
and saved his life. You can spot ruins of St. Paul's
Church in this location. You will also see a staute of
St. Francis Xavier and a bell hanging there. The corpse of St. Francis is kept in the
Old Goa Church. The mortal remains of St. Francis
are made public once every year. A secret that very few people know,
Those remains doesn't have his hand. His hand was cut off from his corpse,
before it reached Goa and now it is kept in a Museum of Vatican City. St. Paul's Church is open throughout the
day and has no entry fees. 17. Cheng Hoon Teng
Templs Chinese Goddess <b>Guanyin</b>, is known as
the Goddess of Mercy This place is also known as the Temple of
Green Cloud. As green cloud is cloud of Mercy. It is located on one
of the famous streets Yonker Street, Temple
Street and Museum Street. It is one of the oldest Chinese Temples of
Malaysia. It is a multi-faith
Temple, those who follow Buddhism,
Hinduism and Taoism can offer their prayers in this Temple. It is awarded by the UNESCO as Excellent
Architect's Preservation Award. You will find multiple prayer halls
and in the center you will find Guanyin Idol made up of
Black, Red and Golden Colour. It is open throughout the day and the
entry is free of cost. 18. Trikshaw. If you are visiting Mallaca, you will
find these beautiful Triangular Rickshaws that
you can ride in the Mallaca City. A pleasant music is played during your ride
that makes the ride more amusing. As Mallaca is a
small city, traveling in Trikshaw will be
convenient and affordable. If you want to do a fun trip activity
in Mallaca, you can rent a Trikshaw. At a glance this vehicle looks like a
Rickshaw or Tuk Tuk. For tourists' entertainment many modifications are
made in Trickshaw, Every Trickshaw has unique
decorations and you can travel throughout the city
listening to the loud Music. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Now, let's talk about Genting Highlands
and nearby attractions. 19. Genting Highlands. I won't be wrong if I term this place
Vegas of Malaysia. Genting Highlands
is a hill station that is around 50 KM away from
the Capital Kuala Lumpur. You can reach here by road or by
ropeway. Here you will find Indoor Theme Park,
Outdoor Theme Park, VR Gaming Park, Ripley's Believe it or Not Museum,
Food Court and one of the World's Biggest Hotel- First World Hotel,
etc. Genting Highlands is located on
a Mountain. This Hill station is located 120 minutes
away from Kuala Lumpur Genting Highlands is also called as city
of Entertainment. Luxury Hotels, Big Shopping Complexes
and 5 Star casinos will give you the vibe of
Las Vegas City. The Guinness World Record Holder,
The First World Hotel is located here. This is the only place in Malaysia,
where Gambling is legal. You will find many amusement parks too. 20. Awana Skyway This is the Ropeway which takes you
to the Genting Highlands comfortably. It will take you at the top in only
10 minutes, This is a cheaper and more convenient way to
reach at the top, you may need to wait for 2 hours during the peak season. Awana Skyway is a ropeway service
to the Genting Highlands. There is an option to reach
here by road too. Awana Skyway is an
entertaining as well as interesting way of
reaching Genting Highlands. It will take you directly to the
sky avenue, From here your entertainment time
begins. One way ride takes 10 minutes
of time. You may need to wait for longer time
during the peak season. Timings: 7AM-11PM. The pricing is subjective depending
on the type of your ride 21. Sky Avenue. Sky Avenue is a one stop for entertainment
destination in Genting Highlands. It is an Indoor Mall which has various
attractions. The bigget attraction is the Sky
Symphony show. It is a light and laser show, free
of cost. This place has casinos,
and is the only place in Malaysia where
you can gamble legally. Other than this you will find Indoor
Theme Parks, Shopping Malls, Food Courts, People across Malaysia visit this place
to chill out and relax. This place is open throughout the
day and has no entry fees. 22. Indoor Theme Park You mught have seen
many theme parks, but this Indoor Theme
Park is one of a kind. This Park has its own ticket that gives
you access to all the rides. Entertainment options are available
for all age groups. Here, you can buy a
combined ticket that gives you access to all rides or
buy ride tickets separately. You can also perform a Zipline activity
inside this Mall. You can find a VR Park in this
Indoor Park You can play your favourite
game in a Virtual World. This is a perfect place to free out
your stress. It is open throughout
the day and prices are subjective on
your ride choices. 23. Skyworld Theme Park This is a great initiative by Malaysia
Tourism Department, earlier it was known as Genting Highlands,
outdoor Theme Park. Now it is upgraded to Skyworld Theme Park. Here you will find various rides and some
of them are inspired from Hollywood Movies. Some of them are
inspired from Planet of Apes, Night at the
Museum and Ice Age. If you are fond of amusement rides, this
place is made for you. It will take a day's time
to explore this Park. It is a must visit place
at Genting Highlands. The timings are 11AM to 6PM and the
entry charges are RM 100. 24. Chun Swee Caves and Temple. This is the most photogenic
place of the Genting Highlands. This Rocky Forest land
is spread across 28 acres and can be spotted from
the Awana Ropeway too. If you are traveling to Genting Highlads
by road to skyway, you will come across this Temple, It is made in memory of Chin Swee who
freed this Island from all evil spirits. The idol of Chin Swee is the biggest
attraction of this Temple. If you are looking for Spiritual uplifitng
place, this place is made for you. Chin Swee Temple is open from 9AM
to 6 PM and the entry is free of cost. Let's talk about other famous
attractions of Malaysia. 25. Penang. You need to keep
Penang in your Malaysia Itinerary. THe capital of Penang is George Town,
It is famous for Street Art, Temples, Jet Skis, Beaches and Pre-War
Mansions. It is a UNESCO World Heritage City
that will make your trip very interesting. Penang is the second-largest city of
Malaysia. Old Architecture, Old Mansions, Temples,
Photogenic Backgrounds, and Penang Hills make this place
more beautiful. Chulia Street Night Market, Street Arts,
Spice Gardens, National Park, and UNESCO Listed houses are some of
the other attractions. You can plan a 2
Nights and 3 days trip from Kuala
Lumpur to Penang. That will be sufficient time to explore
the city. 26. Langkawi It is the most beautiful paradise
of Malaysia, Here you will find an archipelago of
99 Islands. It is located 30 km away from the
North Western Coast of Malaysia. Langkawi is also known as Jewel
of Kedah Do not miss out to see its lush green forests, and
beautiful sunsets. In 2007, this place got its UNESCO
World Heritage Geopark status. Langkawi is among those places that can
be explored throughout the year. The places you must definitely see here are Its beaches, sky bridge, cable cars, Kuah Town, Duty free shops, and Waterfalls. Some of the outdoor activities that are
popular here are: Kayaking, Nature Cycling, Trekking, Boat Sailing, and many water sports. Langkawi is a place you can plan your
proper getaway from your hectic life. You may need to plan a 2 or 3 day trip
from Kuala Lumpur to visit Langkawi. You will find all these locations in our
