SNL Pete Davidson what up what up yo do I have to sit next to Ramy Malik I mean his eyes are freaking me out his time on SNL avoids the obvious references to Freddy Mercury and instead throws him in the deep end of crazy sketches I'm backed up and it's pissing me off oh wow this includes the subtle work as the artist Todd with some incredible moves to complement the wonderfully bizarre sketch I want you to show me he also shines opposite scene Partners such as ad Bryant and special guest Daniel Craig the performer even finds time to do a purposefully bad impression of Pete Davidson which Revolutionary War battle was fought in your hometown New York City how would I know that I mean I went to school in Staten Island even if he looks a little out of his his comfort zone Malik completely delivers in a new medium number 17 Claire Foy gaining International Fame from the crown this actress is an expert in Period drama it's such an honor to be here hosting Saturday Night Live or as we call it in England Sunday morning her ability to channel historical characters makes certain sketches feel even more authentic in maybe her best performance Foy turns into an early 20th century woman writing letters to her Soldier husband your adoring husband James James sounds Dreadful love Margaret her work in a Netflix parody proves that she can also make fun of her claim to fame some might think that this is her only strong suit but the performer can also switch accents how was work Charlie oh the boss L me out early so I only had to work 14 hours here's the money I made mother oh you McFarland Seth McFarland has had tremendous success with his animated shows like Family Guy and American Dad While most of his work is done behind the scenes some don't realize he's equally skilled in front of a camera look I'm not doing the voices I'm just talking no no not you you idiot Seth he's doing the voices his vocal abilities came in handy for characters such as a spoon maker and a puppet class instructor maybe my guy maybe he's a real nerd and he could say hey Ranger can you tell me where in this Forest I can plug in my laptop trying his hand at Impressions McFarland even excels as Olympic swimmer Ryan locky his years as a comedy writer director and voice actor more than prepared him for the diverse sketchwork of SNL by the end of his episode you'd be forgiven if you thought he already had his own variety show yes you don't stutter sir the question was worded in such a way that it was hard to tell if yes or no was the correct answer is her the correct answer is the honest one you maggot number 15 Billy ish as a grammy-winning artist Billy ish is among the more unique musicians of her [Music] generation she was also an unlikely Allstar on Saturday Night Live the writers prepared some award worthy sketches for the performer putting her in a hilarious Hotel commercial our rooms provide every Comfort required by law tiny soap in plastic phone that blinks ish also uses her voice in a variety of funny ideas from holiday themed sketches to her work as an obscure performance artist the singer stretches her vocal cords in multiple Styles y'all are up here but hip hop is down here okay the streets are in the knes it's honestly impressive to see her performing at such a high level throughout the show beyond the musical work taking a chance ish creates an unexpected audition tape for future comedic roles short glass wearing a little hat and small stain in face you have to touch number 14 John Ham with his star making role in madman John Ham was first widely known as Don Draper his hosting work on SNL gave people a glimpse into his extensive comedy chops he plays opposite Michael bé just as well as he does any other cast member in the 800 p.m show Michael is a ventriloquist at 11: p.m. he does a 1man show about William fauler don't you think it would just be better if I sang in the shows playing it straight or leaning into wacky Parts there's nothing the actor can't do there's also a holiday themed sketch that allows the performer to do an underrated James Mason impression she's a pirate price my Jolly Roger was at full Mass the whole drive over even his wordless performance as a saxophone player can pull in major [Music] [Applause] laughs ham doesn't miss a beat in any scene oh always willing to take a chance and frequently succeeding tonight I'm Natalie Portman from Star Wars to Black Swan this Oscar winner is mainly known for Blockbusters and dramas what's a day in the life of Natalie Portman like do you really want to know please her first first hosting gig at SNL may have seemed like a stretch on paper but viewers were quickly won over by her showstopping performance the dramatic actress tears down her serious reputation with a Bruno Mars is also a more than entertaining host now I have to say I'm a little nervous I mean I've never done comedy before I have no acting experience at all I've never even done a shampoo commercial which joking about his nervousness in the monologue Mars later establishes that he is born ready for any [Music] challenge diaba his natural Charisma translates to an Eclectic bunch of sketches that includes one about a scary ride playing a spooky animatronic the vocalist can make his robotic movements as effective as his dance mov ghosts and Ghouls and spooky fools will terrify your dreams you can't escape the scary fate of a bville Halloween he also has fun dressing up to play a loud guest on a talk program Mars shows off his commanding stage presence in every sketch revealing that he can't help but steal the scene with every new character the Uptown Funk artist does it all while pulling double duty as a host and musical guest what are you talking about not that the other thing about the yeti number 11 Kristoff Waltz you might know Kristoff Waltz best for his roles in Quinton Tarantino films but his SNL appearance reminds people of his diverse talents oh that's very sweet sounds like a real charma the esteemed actor has both goofy energy and a dry sense of humor that he utilizes in an equally successful way your question is what have you become well I uh [Applause] he can even play the straight man against crazy characters from the likes of Fred Armon so what were we all talking about before I got you Reproductive Rights um no just small talk oh don't worry baby I'm sure we will discuss social Politics as soon as we can the performer also shows that he's comfortable in controversial sketches perhaps his best part in the episode comes from a parody of Jango Unchained playing a very different take on Jesus Waltz isn't afraid to go For Broke in a wild premise No More Mr Nice Jesus number 10 Christopher Walkin we all know that Christopher Walkin doesn't take himself very seriously but that was not the case in 1990 back then Walkin was known for his dramatic roles in movies primarily a be to aill The Dead Zone and especially the Deer Hunter for which he won an Academy Award however he blew SNL fans away on January 20th 1990 and later became one of the show's most iconic hosts how called the first time I saw you in my Periscope I mean he became known for his Continental sketches where he portrayed a very creepy and perverted man and the famous Behind the Music sketch where he repeatedly asked for more cowbell you know I can pull it back a little if you like not too much though I'm telling you fellas you're going to want that cowbell on the track Walkin is now an SNL veteran having hosted the show seven times number nine Charles Barkley before his stint as an SNL host on September 25th 1993 no one really knew how Charles Barkley would handle being in front of the camera remember this was 3 years before everyone beheld is talented number seven The Rock no we do not mean the action movie star Dwayne Johnson we mean the rock that's how far back his hosting duties go I'm thirsty where the hell's the beer man hey UJ Bron's up there in the cheap seat so keep it down the rock is trying to run a show here well The Rock was always a tongue and cheek personality non- wrestling fans were certainly apprehensive about having a wrestler doing legitimate comedy luckily he proved to be a ton of fun and has since become a member of the five timers Club so I grabbed him a little and he goes you're hurting me sir centrax Works he is always game whether he's taking meth for his erectile dysfunction or playing a gun toing Bambi and he always makes a joke funny no matter how lame or dark it may be where is my cool out hot ball well such is the power of a great comedic actor number six Taylor Swift Taylor Swift is an undeniably talented musician and songwriter but her acting leaves a lot to be desired have you seen Valentine's Day G that being said she was a surprisingly great host for the night of November 7th 2009 I like glitter and sparkly dresses but I'm not going to talk about that in my monologue her little goofy monologue song was a thing of beauty and she managed to be hilariously self-deprecating and snarky she also showed off some killer impressions of Kate Goslin Shakira and Bella Swan hey L Max so you're hanging with Philip Frank now what do you have against the Franks yeah this was back when making fun of Twilight was still funny she hasn't hosted since then but we certainly wouldn't mind if her first go was any indication number four Kristen Stewart we are sure Kristen Stuart is a lovely person but it's no secret that audiences were dreading her hosting gig even though she can be a good actor she's primarily known for portraying the endlessly boring and dull bellais Swan and she is quite a jittery and quiet person which doesn't exactly lend itself to Live Comedy that said she was a surprisingly great host I should bring these out stay with me what about my hungry guys what are you hungry for sure she was still her fidgety self but her Totino sketch was sexy as hell and the Family Feud sketch was hilarious oi and T bam I love the American Super Bowl where millions of people come together to watch TV and eat this garbage oh and who can forget the Majesty that was her accidental and adorable F-bomb we've got a great show and I totally care that I'm here cuz it's the coolest thing oh oh my God and I'm sorry and Alesia car is also here episode was pure entertainment and really what more can we ask for number four Ariana Grande Ariana Grande had appeared as a musical guest before hosting on March 12th 2016 defying expectations regarding the young Diva pop star's comedic hosting skills she silenced critics with a truly memorable performance it's been a dream of mine to be on this stage ever since I was a little girl which was two months ago she started well by singing about her future scandals before delivering some incredible vocal impressions of various artists like Rihanna Shakira and Britney Spears her spot-on impersonation of the annoyingly relatable Jennifer Lawrence was also a huge hit and one of the standout moments of the night V I'm just like a snackaholics if no one's looking I'll eat like a whole can like every day is my cheat day you know what I mean oh oh how annoyingly relatable with this episode we realized that Ariana Grande is just as funny as she is talented number three Payton Manning there is no denying it professional athletes can be awful hosts luckily pton Manning was one of the good ones open can open what get your head out of your ass on March 24th 2007 audiences could have been forgiven for expecting another painful show starring a stiff and too serious athlete but Manning was gain for some truly out outrageous skits and surprised everyone with his Charisma and comedic timing the new Mercedes 550 a meatloaf lovers dream his United wasket is still fondly remembered and he proved to be at least a double threat with his dancing abilities Payton Manning may be the funniest athlete to have ever graced Saturday Night Live number two Justin Timberlake when fans first heard that in syncs Justin Timberlake would be hosting the show on October 11th 2003 many let out a collective groan it's uh it's Justin Justin yeah they expected a spoiled sanitized and awkward musical Mega star who thought he was above the cast we're looking at you Bieber so imagine our surprise when JT became one of the best SNL hosts ever he's now hosted the show five times and made countless cameos with Dick in a Box becoming one of the most popular skits in the show's history one cut a hole in a box two put your junk presentation I was born 7 months too early incubation technology was still in its infancy so they placed me in a cast iron pot inside of a pizza oven until I was ripe enough to walk willing to provide
