15. Stranger’s Secret Room
YouTuber Steve G faced a very common fear in this video, someone secretly living in
their house. He says that a couple years ago, he discovered
a person living in his basement in a closet under a table and a pile of bicycles. Surprisingly, the squatter had been living
there for three months without ever being detected. Well already this is creepy enough. But wait, it gets even creepier. Steve leads viewers from the front door of
what appears to be an apartment building to his apartment, showing viewers where a stairway
leads upstairs to the second and third floors. There is a random door to the side of this
stairway with a window up above. He notes that the door doesn’t have a knob. He said that he just noticed the window yesterday,
even though he’s been living in this building for three years. So, naturally, he broke in, unlocking the
window for a search. And what he found was pretty terrifying. A makeshift bed appears in this random storage
closet. The bed is a simple pile of blankets and a
pillow situated on a mezzanine of sorts that sits above the below door. There are also boxes in the corner and what
appears to be a key, laying off to the side. In part two of the video series, Steve manages
to loop what he thinks is a key with a ski pole, but discovers it’s just a keychain. In part four of the video series, as some
YouTube comments duly note, the sheets that were originally on the bed are now folded
and set on top of it. Other YouTubers note that a clownish looking
face appears in the bottom right hand corner of the window toward the end of the video. Yikes. Steve also says that he confronted the landlord
about the space, which is obviously being lived in, and the landlord made a joke about
it, saying that when he gets in a fight with his wife, he lays low in this secret room. I don’t know what’s creepier - a secret
squatter or a landlord using this space for his own man cave in your home. 14. Secret Room in a Mansion
In this vlog, ItsJustinStuart and guysitsmeandy visit a mansion to go to a party. No one is there, so they “sneak” in. The mansion is huge with a bridge and a waterfall,
four garages, a gym, a climbing rockwall, a sauna, a library. It’s insane. And finally, after exploring the house, they
find a secret room. A door is camouflaged into one wall, but they
spot that the bottom is raised a bit, and there’s a clear mark that someone has pressed
into the corner at some point. One of the crew presses on the door, and it
opens into darkness. They hit the lightswitch and find a whole
other room out of sight. The room is bare, no furniture, nothing on
the walls. What the homeowners used it for is completely
unknown. While it’s a tad eerie to find a room completely
hidden in this incredible mansion, you kind of wish there was more to it… Although, maybe there is, and we just don’t
know it yet. 13. Time Capsule
Rancor Slayer begins his video of a bare white basement wall. He says he and his sister were playing down
in the basement with Nerf guns, when he was pushed against this wall, which sounded hollow. He said this surprised him, because there’s
nothing there in the plans of the house. He takes a drill to the wall, cutting a little
hole to take a look. He then pokes a screwdriver through to make
the hole cleaner. He cuts through the wall, digs through the
insulation and says, “There is something here.” But what is that something? He says he feels cold air there, so there
must, in fact, be something beyond. He clears the insulation out of the way. There’s a piece of plywood behind it, and
when he pushes the plywood over, he finds an entire hidden room. The room is rather large, but short, so he
crouches while exploring the area. In one corner of the room, there’s a briefcase,
covered by leaves. “This is what I was imagining would be in
here,” he says. Inside he finds Canadian money, Pez dispensers,
toys which he says appear to be from the seventies, an old coin purse with old coins inside, some
colored pencils, a Burger King pin, and a hockey ribbon. Some claim the video is fake, but this YouTuber
says that this must be a time capsule, because some of the money is sealed. He says his family has lived in this house
for sixteen years now, and the room had remained hidden all this time. So, what do you think? Staged or not. You decide. 12. Attic Room
YouTuber Hidden Treasures recently moved into a new home. Little did he know what he’d find inside. He leads viewers down a hallway to a dark
closet and, behind a lower shelf, there’s a panel. The YouTuber says that when he pulled it back,
you could kind of see some stairs. Then he leads viewers into the room next door,
where there’s an adjacent closet. He recalls how he went in there to investigate
where the stairs led, but there’s just a regular closet in this room - three walls
and a ceiling. He said he brushed it off and continued to
unpack his house. He went to put some Christmas stuff up in
the attic. “This is where it gets interesting,” he
said. Once he got up into the attic, he decided
to investigate if those stairs led somewhere. And, in fact, they did: they led to a secret
room. After tearing a wall down, this YouTuber found
a whole other room in the otherwise unfinished attic. This room had wallpaper, electricity, short
ceilings, a closet area, a sliding door, and a mirror on the wall. He filmed the staircase from the other side,
allowing viewers to see that whoever hid this room simply framed the wall in to block the
staircase and access to the secret room. “This is only a one-story house,” he says,
“you can’t tell from outside that this is up here.” So, the question is: why was this room hidden? What was the previous owners trying to keep
secret? Or who? 11. Secret Dungeon
There seems to be many surprises for new renters or homeowners in these clips. YouTuber demc7 also recently moved into this
apartment. He said he rented the place without viewing
it, because it looked nice and the rent was low. But when he got there, he realized why it
was so cheap… “There are really high ceilings like a 19th
century monastery in the middle of England,” he said. He then takes viewers on a tour through the
apartment. There are mirrors all over. All of this is nothing compared to what he
found just outside the bathroom. Carved into the floorboards, you can clearly
see a hatch in the floor, kitted out with a handle. Demc7 says he figured it was a bit of underground
storage. He lifts the lid up, and it does appear to
be a storage space. That is, until you look beyond the surface
and see that the space expands below pretty deeply. Demc7 guides viewers down stone stairs that
lead into what he calls a dungeon. There is a corridor heading off ahead, lots
of stones and discarded brick and wiring. There is a room to the right, directly below
demc7’s apartment. On the wall is graffiti that reads “CCFC
O.K.” Judging from the flooring, demc7 believes
it used to be a burial ground. He heads down the corridor. Most of the “dungeon” is piled with rubbish,
dirt, and old brick. He finds a newspaper, dating back to 1984. He finds what looks like an old front door. Did someone used to live here? Or perhaps the house was built over an older
existing foundation? Whatever the case, a dungeon is one secret
room I wouldn’t want to find in my new home. 10. Beyond the Concrete Wall
After cutting a giant hole into a concrete wall, YouTuber cyrex686 climbs through the
hole to show us the secret room he’s found beyond the wall. “It’s not big, but it is something,”
he says, noting that there’s an unconnected pipe coming diagonal down the wall in the
room. In one corner of the ceiling, there’s a
hook. At another point in the wall, another pipe
juts out, but leads nowhere. A pile of wood is piled on the ground, tied
with a length of rope. The point of this secret room is unclear. Whether it has no utility or some secret use,
we may never know. 9. The Tunnel
YouTuber MoreWolfie is staying at an Airbnb with some friends. In the rental, he’s found a trapdoor, which
he promised viewers he would investigate. He says he doesn’t know what’s in it,
but he wouldn’t be surprised if there were racoons or coyotes living there, as he’s
based in L.A. and they’re not uncommon. He first politely knocks on the trapdoor,
but unsurprisingly, no one answers. Then he pulls the latch and opens the trapdoor. The phone’s video goes blurry. A moment later, they open the door again,
with clear video and a flashlight. The door reveals a big pile of dirt with a
plastic bottle on top and the interior structure of the house walls. “I feel like there’s rats and stuff in
there,” Wolfie says. The woman filming says it’s probably haunted. Wolfie considers squeezing into the small
space, but after hesitating a bit, he decides against it, suggesting that there’s probably
spiders. He finally steps in and backs out again, explaining
that the small room appears to go much deeper into the underground of the house. In fact, it appears to be a tunnel. Where does it lead? Possibly somewhere creepier than the tunnel
itself? Wolfie hasn’t yet explored the tunnel further,
so we don’t know its destination. Any intrepid explorers here dare to take on
the challenge? 8. Underground Junkyard
YouTuber Moment Films was digging in his backyard, when he came across a hole, covered in bricks. So, he and his friend continue digging. Peeking in the hole halfway through, the kid
sees something metal, pipes, and glass bottles. They move brick out of the way. The kid thinks it used to be a dump, before
being covered up and built overtop. “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure,”
he says. The crew tries to figure out a way to get
into the gap safely without hurting themselves. While digging, they find two blue glass bottles,
dating back to 1906, that read “Milk of Magnesia.” They’re able to sit down in the backyard
treasure scape after finding a hole with a lid, leading to the underground junkyard. Here, they sift through a truckload of treasure,
including loads of old glass bottles, newspapers from the 1900s, rusted metal odds and ends. When they show a shot from underground, you
can see the place was built with a perfectly bricked in ceiling. The area is pretty expansive. After cleaning all the bottles with soap and
water and sorting them out, they claim them as their “treasure.” Kids, the moral of this story is don’t spend
all your time indoors. Buried treasure may be hidden right in your
own backyard. 7. Crawl Space
YouTuber Rinoa Super-Genius has something random to share: a random secret door hidden
in a closet. She says that this door leads to the crawl
space under the house and nice cool air always flows from the crack in the door. Since it’s getting a bit hot in the house
and with no airflow, the YouTuber decides to open the crawl space door...not only to
cool the room, but to inspect - or “mine” as she puts it - the underground. After prying the crawl space up with a screwdriver,
the YouTuber spans the area with the camera, and viewers see a whole lot of dirt, wires,
and the structural foundation of the home - not an unusual discovery below deck. When She descends down under, the YouTuber
finds cables that don’t connect to anything. As the exploration underground continues,
she finds an old penny from 1951. One YouTuber in the comments, Ki Ji Hoon,
notes, “Don't they put pennies in places like this to ward off evil spirits?”
In fact, it’s true that some superstitious beliefs suggest that copper protects homes
from evil spirits and the evil eye. Copper is also believed by some to draw good
fortune, which is one possible reason why this YouTuber found a penny beneath the home. While crawl spaces beneath homes are not uncommon,
most don’t go exploring them, so you can imagine what secrets might be hidden under
so many homes across the world. 6. Basement Room Crawl Space
YouTuber David DiFranco dramatically descends the stairs into his dingey cement-brick basement,
saying, “After four years of wondering what’s in that room, it’s time.” With a cat as his bodyguard, David notes that
it’s 10:49 PM. Not sure why you’d choose to explore a hidden
room at night, but David’s got grit. He notes that he’s always wondered what’s
in this hidden room, and that his cat has explored it several times and “seen some
serious” stuff. So, David is curious and nervous. “It’s probably nothing, but you can’t
help but wonder…” he says. Using his night vision camera, he moves the
piece of plywood, blocking the hole in the wall, out of the way. And he enters. He calls the place creepy before asking, “Hello?”
to no one in particular. It looks like another crawl space, but there
are some intriguing bits and pieces inside. An old bottle, newspaper, dripping pipes,
small plastic containers. Comics from The Philadelphia Inquirer date
back to April 1st, 2001 - so someone has been down in the crawl space not too long ago. David recalls hearing noises coming from the
crawl space. While David didn’t discover anything epic
beneath his home, he did at last explore it before moving out. 5. Pirate Treasure
This pirate treasure was planted for YouTuber thepukkapukka’s six-year-old daughter. “She was wanting some pocket money, so she
reluctantly sent to clean out the old unused window box...little did she know she would
find a treasure map amongst the old brass,” the YouTuber writes. “The map leads to a secret room sealed upon
her conception seven years ago.” While cleaning out the old window box, the
young girl finds a load of old doorknobs and an old map. The map shows that their house has a “secret
room.” The girl’s father takes her into the hallway,
tells her to place the map on the ground in the same orientation as the home, and asks
her where they must go to find the secret room. They wind up in the girl’s room. She says it would be weird if there was a
hidden door in her own room. She starts pounding on the wall and notes
that it sounds hard, not hollow. The father joins in and says it sounds hollow
in one part of the wall. They decide to cut the wall, as there might
be “treasure and lots of money” like $150,000 so they could go to Disneyland, as the girl
suggests. They cut open the wall and do, in fact, find
the secret room. At first, the girl assumes there’s nothing
in it. But at the far end of the room, a small silver
treasure chest sits. Inside are necklaces, jewelry, and doubloons. What a great way to send your child on an
adventure. 4. Hidden Room in Parents’ House
YouTuber Joey Image announces that he’s going to explore the hidden room in his parents’
home. But don’t tell his parents. He hasn’t been in the room since he was
a kid, so who knows what they have hidden inside now. The secret room is covered by a painting and
the door is artfully camouflaged into the wooden panels of the wall. Joey pries the hatch open, and it pulls out
completely from the wall. He notes that it’s pitch black in there
and full of spiderwebs. Freaky. After removing the hatch door, he peers inside
and invites viewers to, “Come on in.” The room is hidden under the stairs of his
parents’ house. On a shelf in the room, he finds a whole set
of heavy wrought iron horse-drawn wagon figurines. It looks old, nostalgic, and antique. Could be worth some money. He also finds a box of plastic serving trays,
an old splicer for film, a decanter, a cooking pot in a basket, and a sheet of paper that
reads “January 7th, 1979,” with a list of various drinks. Assumedly, the box below is full of these
drinks. He finds a box labeled with Whitehorse from
Glasgow, Scotland sealed shut. But he doesn’t open it, otherwise his parents
would have caught him. While he calls the discovery “disappointing”
overall, in my opinion, a box full of mysteries is never disappointing. 3. Abandoned Dark Mansion Secret Room
YouTuber Exploring With Josh isn’t new to abandoned places and hidden treasures. In this video, he explores a nine million
dollar abandoned mansion on a beach, where he discovers a hidden room inside. Shots of Josh show when he first enters the
kitchen, where loads of stuff is piled upon the floor, the table, and just about every
surface. Continuing into the house, he walks past an
old striped couch in a dark room that’s also overflowing with potential treasures...or
potential trash. A single men’s leather dress shoe sits on
a table. The old abandoned mansion was built in 1979
and the first owner stayed until 1999. After the second owner moved in, Josh knows
nothing more about the history of the home. It is bookended by a new, white-stone, modern
mansion and another new, modern mansion along a beautiful stretch of beach. This begs the question: why is this ruined
mansion still standing? Why hasn’t anyone purchased and remodeled
this place or simply purchased the land to knock it down and build from scratch? “I’m surprised this place is still standing;
it looks like it might fall down at any time,” Josh says. The mansion may have been quite a hit in its
day. The home’s exterior holds a bar that looks
out at the beach and the water. He notes a random red door to the side of
the house, then enters the bar area, where the ceiling and floor are both decked out
in marble tile. He says the furniture appears gothic. Inside is a highly decorative door, which
Josh says looks as though it’s hiding a secret or a curse. To the crew’s surprise, the power still
works in the home, and they’re able to turn on the lights to explore inside this potentially
cursed room. At first it appears to be just a small storage
room, but it leads down a passageway, where some cupboard doors hide a hidden crawl space. According to the crew, when you get close
to the entrance of the hidden room, you hear a ringing in your ear, which Josh describes
as “almost like a dog whistle.” Perhaps, the room is, in fact, cursed. The rest of the exploration uncovers a swank
bathroom, “Assassin’s Creed” type design, an old-fashioned clock, hand-carved wooden
art, a pirate-style chandelier, and just unbelievable looking furniture and decor. A spiral staircase leads to the roof, where
the home owners once gazed out over the sea. If you’re into exploring abandoned spaces
(and if you’re watching this video, I’d expect that you are), Exploring With Josh’s
entire video is worth a view. 2. Secret Attic
YouTuber Chad Miller found a secret room in the attic of his house. “You don’t see this everyday!” he writes. You certainly don’t. It looks like Chad is just moving into a new
house, and now the fun begins: it’s time to explore it. Inside a closet, he finds a ladder-like stairwell
leading into a secret hidden room. As he crawls in, you find that it doesn’t
look like any old attic, unfinished, with cobwebs, and stacked with unruly odds and
ends. Instead, the attic looks well finished with
wooden walls, light fixtures, and a nice clean space. “It’s like a sauna but air conditioned,”
Chad says. It does, in fact, look like a sauna. The room is rather large with all wooden walls
and even a couple of wooden benches. What was the super secret room used for? We can only guess. All I know is that I wouldn’t mind finding
this secret room in my new home. Before we get to number 1, my name is Chills

WW2HistoryHunter came upon a German bunker that he claims has been hidden for more than
seventy years...until now. In the video, he arrives at a makeshift defense
bunker that’s positioned toward a field. Rocks are stacked for cover, and he says he
was hoping something would be found in this area. He says he Google Earthed the region and found
the bunker buried here. After exploring the surroundings, he finally
comes across the impressive concrete bunker, built into the earth, completely camouflaged
into the dirt. Prior to its excavation, the front of the
war bunker was covered in stone. But it had been dug up by the time this YouTuber
visited the place. Near the excavation site sits a flack gun
barrel cooler bathtub completely intact. One side of the bunker wall is covered in
rock, but part of the area is open so that the door is accessible. The Hunter heads inside the bunker. There is a hole on the ground filled with
water, a heavy rusted two-part door with a shutter for the gunner to spy who was standing
on the other side before opening the door. Further inside, he finds the bunker’s oven,
sitting right on the floor. An emergency exit shaft is built into one
wall with a drum barrel on the opposite end. The ground is flooded with water, which he
assumes is quite deep. There are hooks in the ceiling and remnants
of some structure on the wall, which the Hunter assumes are signs of the bunker’s beds. Navigating through the old bunker is like
diving back into another era for the viewer, so we can only imagine what it was like for
this YouTuber to explore the place in person.
