Top 10 Self-Taught Artists of the Contemporary Era

hello everyone last week we discussed how to become successful if you haven't had privilege or luck or financial resources to study art school how can we be successful as a self-taught artist well today we'll be talking about artists who were successful as a self-taught artist welcome to the top 10 most important self-taught artists of the Contemporary era art history has known tremendous artists who are self-taught throughout tears I believe the most famous examples are the modern artists Vincent van Gogh and Frida Kahlo and if we do some research online we also encounter some less established artists however to the query who are the most important self-taught artists of today or of the Contemporary era there is no conclusive answer so we conducted a complete survey analyzing the artist's biographies and their education of the top section the top 200s artists so we selected the top 10 artists who didn't have formal arts training and I must say the results are very German artists continue to produce relevant work over half a century until his passing in the mid-1970s Ernst is best known for channeling his psychological intricacies and social anxieties into his artistic practice working in painting print making drawing collage and sculpture his visual language is marked by a vast personal mythology throughout his career Max adamst explored automatism to include subconscious interventions resulting in figures hovering between the human the animal or the abstract the artist studied philosophy art History Literature psychology and Psychiatry at the University of Boone but did not follow formal artistic training however due to his experimental attitude and natural interest in art erinst allowed himself to be guided by his academic knowledge and various visual influences such as art of the mentally ill and the emergence of the avant-garde movements during the first two decades of the 20th century born in 1944 in Paris France and passed away in 2021 in molokov near the French Capital Christian boldanski is a contemporary artist occupied with photography drawing sculpture and installation being born during the second world war his work in particular his early years is strongly marked by the not the occupation of his country boltonski left school at just 12 years old as he started to create plasticine sculptures and paintings before dedicating his life to predominantly photography and sculpture followed by installation boltonski fuses everyday life with high art dealing with concepts of loss memory childhood and death his his conceptual and experimental multidisciplinary practice in which he explores the nature and meaning of language using associations derived from words and images as a rhetoric strategy his work
