[Music] foreign [Applause] Island on holiday or vacation but where do you stay and where do you eat let's find out on this video Amelia Island has it all great beaches and historic downtown and beautiful weather for such a small island you'll be surprised at the range of places you can stay if you would like an upscale Resort experience you've got the amazing Ritz Carlton Amelia Island or the Omni Amelia Island Resort if you're looking for more of a family-friendly option you've got a lot of properties throughout the island which are great for families or a couple looking to get away and if you're more of a history or an intimate space you've got some charming bed and breakfast ends and of course you've got vacation rentals that give you that extra space if you're looking for an extended stay right let's jump into this shall we I've picked out a couple of options for each level of accommodation that Amy mentioned every price is from booking.com to make it fair and they're all for one week pretending we're going on the 2nd of September I'll leave the links to all of them in the description below let's start at the beach the cheapest is surf beach motel which is 800 bucks for the week it's just a hundred yards from the sand and has its own restaurant despite being a two star it has great reviews the Spring Hill Suites are a new property by Marriott for just over 200 a night you can have your own apartment style Suite next door is the Courtyard by Marriott which is a more traditional hotel and thirty dollars more per night they both share a swimming pool and it feels fresh and new because it is you're also just a five minute walk from the beach still next up is another family friendly hotel called the Seaside amelior Inn this is right on the beach and you can stay here for just under two thousand dollars for the week so 278 dollars a night breakfast is included and it also has a pool on the marina side of the island you have other options in the historic district we stayed at the Hampton Inn which is in the historic downtown area of Fernandina Beach which was great and I would recommend people come and stay here during the kind of winter months because you can walk absolutely everywhere down here in the downtown area and it's really chilled really walkable you wouldn't even need to use a car for so many restaurants shops things to do down this end of the town the Hampton Inn would be 1 600 for the week it's a big Hotel chain with lots of rooms so a safe bet also in the historic area of Fernandina Beach are the Charming bnbs the Fairbanks House was built in 1885. it's kept the architecture and style but the amenities are modern prices on the dates we're looking for are from per night 265 dollars to 495 for the grand Tower hotel suite breakfast is included of course if you're looking for a cheaper BNB the Hoyt house is 1850 for the week on booking.com it's also got a pool too [Music] now we're going to the top end the Omni Resort is a high-end hotel with several pools restaurants and even a golf course it's 2 700 for the week we've put in so it's the most expensive so far at 396 dollars per night but you're guaranteed to have everything you could ever need for a memorable vacation here the final Resort option is the Ritz Carlton it's a luxury hotel which oozes class this one is eight thousand five hundred dollars for the week so not for everyone's budget but if you're the type of person who would pay that for a Florida getaway you won't be disappointed nothing is too much trouble here for the Discerning Traveler so there are top 10 options for you there are loads more in between you can also find private rentals and airbnbs but you can do your own research for those the great thing is that wherever you choose to stay Amelia Island feels like you're in a high-end destination but it doesn't feel stuffy you know I think that the laid-back attitude here really just gives it that different vibe so it doesn't matter if you're staying at the upper end or if you're at more of a family-friendly Place everywhere you get you have what I like to call our approachable luxury you're going to feel like you're getting the five-star service you may not be paying those prices but you're always going to feel like you're just in a laid back Beach destination that goes for the food look at this so many cute places around wherever you go little courtyards all independent businesses and restaurant tears really good tasty quality feed and lots of friendly people too speaking of how warm the hospitality is out here before I go into the restaurant side of things let me tell you a quick story about how friendly the locals are my son Dylan he is really into this brand of drink that influences YouTubers have bought out and you can get it in England but it's been heavily marked up and you can't get it everywhere and also in the states it's a little bit less easy to find as well so I ordered an Uber went to the Walmart which is off the island I found the special drink went to pay for it gave them my Apple watch and they said oh we don't use that here we can't we can't take it how about my phone nope they don't take that either so I literally I left the shop like a child with my head down going oh dear what a wasted trip because it's going to be a 30 round trip for absolutely nothing as the yuper driver was pulling up I asked her if there's any chance she could let me borrow 30 or whatever it was to pay for the drink and but you won't get us in many places she said yes it was amazing so thank you Jenna for making it possible for Dylan to get his special drinks that he wanted and for making one little boy's dreams come true thank you so much [Music] right let's give you a few places to help you find where to go starting with casual dining t-rays is a burger joint which is a real favorite among locals that means it has to be good the restaurant is on the site of an old gas station the owner's son started serving sandwiches and soon the site was more popular for its food than its fuel now anyone who's watched our videos knows how much I love American barbecue I've even started smoking my own Meats at home on Amelia Island we had take away from the happy tomato on the way to the airport and it was amazing sorry for not capturing it for you make sure you get the sweet barbecue sauce there are lunch and dinner options there too for breakfast we went to the Garden Bistro but you can come here at any time of the day the courtyard and period setting make it a perfect spot for a sit-down experience it's traditional American favorites here so everyone will be able to pick something from the menu going upscale now dine at lanyap don't worry I had to Google how to pronounce it too it's near the Ritz-Carlton and it's only eight years old I had the best pork chop of my life here the mac and cheese and blackberry juice shows how confident and exciting this restaurant is if you're a fan of the grill head to Bob's Steak and Chop House which is on the Omni Resort but open to all expect perfectly cooked meat served with their famous sweet carrot you'll find it their 14 locations nationwide if you're looking for something truly special the Ritz Carlton has a chef's table where you'll have a private seat in the kitchen the main restaurant Salt is a sophisticated restaurant with Coastal Cuisine on the menu you'll also find a unique way to dine at the Omni farm to table at its best let the executive chef show you his sprouting project and eat what's been grown on site he even has his own bees and chicken for eggs of course there's a five course themed meal once a month we actually like build a kitchen out here we bring additional tables you'll have you know 70 plates and we do five courses of 70. these are just a few places that I tried while here the island is famous for its Independent Restaurant scene so I'm sure you'll find loads of amazing places that I haven't mentioned share your favorites in the comments so we all get to learn where to go next there we go hopefully this has helped you plan your visit to Amelia Island if you haven't watched our travel guide check it out at the end of the video here otherwise see you soon and safe travels
