Top 10 New Disney Rides, Changes & Updates in 2021 -Disneyland & Disney World

from the reopening of disneyland opening dates for many new rides and attractions pride refurbishments new epcot transformation news and so much more so today we're going to be counting down the top 10 new rides updates and changes at the disney theme parks number ten come to this happy place welcome on april 30th cast members welcome guests back to disneyland and disney california adventure after being closed for 412 days due to the pandemic the disneyland magic has returned but with some modifications a reservation system similar to walt disney world is being utilized but only california residents are able to visit the parks at this time magic mornings and extra magic hours for resort hotel guests have been suspended and fast pass and max pass are not currently available park hopping has returned but you're only able to hop beginning at 1pm daily at this time there are no nighttime spectaculars parades and live entertainment and there hasn't been any word on whether we can expect character cavocades as a replacement to traditional character meet and greets many of our favorite disney pals can be found all over the parks and new distance character encounters in some very unique and fun ways now on the subject of rides and attractions while most of our favorites are operating but here are the rides that are not currently open starting with disneyland so first we have the disneyland monorail finding nemo submarine voyage great moments with mr lincoln tom sawyer island sailing ship colombia the davy crockett canoes sleeping beauty castle walkthrough the storybook land canal boats plus the jungle cruise matterhorn bobsleds and buzz lightyear astro blasters which are all closed for refurbishment although fastpass is not currently offered a virtual cue for star wars rise of the resistance is still being used then over at disney california adventure the rides and attractions that are not open are the animation academy which includes the sorcerer's workshop in turtle talk with crush the golden zephyr and the red car trolley just note there are no single rider cues open at this time now a great way to pass the time while you're in line at the number nine avengers campus was originally set to open in july of 2020 and it was announced that the brand new marvel themed land will open on june 4th 2021 google earth recently updated its aerial view of disneyland which includes a completed avengers campus disney shared some new video and photos from inside the land and it looks stunning here we have the exterior of webslingers of spiderman adventure where inside the worldwide engineering brigade peter parker invites us to test drive the web slinger vehicle as we help spider-man collect the spider bots there's also a chance to see spider-man swinging above avengers campus while seeing many more of your favorite marvel superheroes either in the sanctum or even at avengers headquarters also opening with the land is the pym test kitchen themed to ant-man and the wasp disney shared this little peek inside the restaurant and everything so far looks fantastic i'm so excited and we're so close to finally being able to experience avengers campus [Music] number eight while disneyland was closed imagineers were hard at work refreshing some of our favorite rides first off at the haunted mansion you'll notice some new tragic tales added to the pet cemetery then as you walk through the portrait gallery mark davis's april to december portrait was brought back into the attraction over in fantasyland the horses on the king arthur carousel received a fresh coat of paint plus new gold leaf and the baby blue canopy was reverted back to its original purple color finally the biggest refurbishment was snow white scary adventures which was transformed into snow white's enchanted wish imagineers did a fantastic job with this transformation they kept the integrity of this classic dark ride but added a lot of new technology including led and lighting effects they added new show figures plus a brand new finale sequence which finally has the ride ending with a happily ever after everything just sparkles and shines it's stunning this is the right way to refurbish a classic disney dark ride number 7 the transformation on the jungle cruise is well underway at both magic kingdom and disneyland while the ride remains closed at disneyland it was announced the jungle cruise would stay open while work was being done at magic kingdom we've already seen some main aspects of show scenes removed like the headhunter spears in the canoe scene as well as the main pole in the trap safari since our last update video disney shared this new piece of concept art which shows some more monkey business taking place along the riverbank and that's in addition to the sunken vote scene the traitor sam animatronic was also removed a few weeks ago and disney just shared concept art of the brand new finale scene this will be found at both disneyland and magic kingdom and in my honest opinion this new scene is definitely an upgrade trader sam has turned the lost and found booth of the jungle navigation company into trader sam's gift shop and boy oh boy i'm sure there's gonna be a ton of easter eggs in here now unless the camera is just a prop this might even mean an on right photo opportunity is coming to the ride now disney says we can expect the newly updated jungle cruise to open at disneyland in summer of 2021 but as of right now they have not given a timeline for the ride at magic kingdom [Music] number six in walt disney world refurbishment news the iconic tomorrowland people mover finally reopened on april 25th after being closed for almost 14 months now no major changes were made to the ride but we do get this amazing view of the tron construction back disney hasn't officially announced an opening date for tron but it definitely will not be this year and with this construction the walt disney world railroad still remains closed with no return date known then over in liberty square the hall of presidents is closed to welcome an audio animatronic of president joe biden disney has not released any additional information but i presume it will be open in time for disney's 50th anniversary especially since hall of presidents was an opening day attraction in 1971. finally over on main street the chapeau shop along with the confectionary shop have closed and both storefronts will be used for an expanded confectionary shop the main street cinema has actually been transformed into a temporary location for the confectionary shop so all your favorite disney sweets and treats are still available now attractions at the parks that are still closed due to the pandemic are monsters in cloth floor and china tales with belle a pirates adventure treasure of the seven seas turtle talk with crush and star wars launch bay number five next is the star wars galactic star cruiser hotel at walt disney world to celebrate may the 4th disney released a promo with rey that featured a real working lightsaber it's a new technology disney imagineering developed which will be used at the star wars galactic star cruiser hotel disney was eager to open this in 2021 but it's officially been postponed and will now open in 2022 after you're loaded into the launch pod you'll make a hyperspace launch onto the halcyon galactic star cruiser will be a two-day two-night immersive adventure that will take you into a galaxy far far away now all of your experiences on the ship will have you interacting with characters and crew along the way including right here in the crown of corellia dining room this two-day journey includes a trip into batu and while you're on the halcyon everyone regardless of age will be able to take part in a training remote and wield a lightsaber probably the same lightsaber that was just shown the entire journey is the first of its kind and it will definitely be the most immersive experience disney has created to date number four in our previous update video we spoke about festival of the lion king returning to the entertainment lineup at disney's animal kingdom well on april 19th jeff vale president of walt disney world posted this photo on instagram which stated that the show will begin performances mid-may now they're calling this a celebration of the festival of the lion king so it won't be the exact same version of the show we've known for 20 years modifications are being made backstage and on stage which includes some changes to the choreography but you can still expect to hear all of your favorite lion king songs it's gonna be really great having another live stage show back at walt disney world number three walt disney world's 50th anniversary begins on october 1st and over the past few months disney has been preparing for the celebration since the 90s the ttc has practically remained unchanged so the monorail entrances have been given a fresh look and this new blue and gold color scheme will continue into the rest of the area at magic kingdom the cinderella castle transformation is almost complete the top of each spire is now equipped with gold ribbon while the bases have received bunting in the iridescent blue and gold colors which is the whole theme for the celebration the castle looks very elegant and i'm impressed with how this all turned out it's not too in your face like the pink birthday cake and it remains classy now the only thing missing is the 50th anniversary medallion in the front but that probably won't be added until closer to october also for the 50th the four park icons will come alive at night as the beacons of magic to showcase their iridescent glow the lighting package on spaceship earth is in the process of being installed and once it's completed it will be permanent and continue to glow at night as part of epcot's overhaul [Music] number two on october 1st 2021 we'll finally be able to experience remy's ratatouille adventure over in the france pavilion at epcot the ride was originally set to open in summer of 2020 but now disney is debuting the new attraction as part of walt disney world's 50th anniversary from what's visible of the expansion right now you can see a lot of great detail and the area has been complete for a while i don't know about you but i'm so ready to shrink down to the size of a rat to get chased through gusto's kitchen in remy's ratatouille adventure now in addition to this 4d attraction experience october 1st will also mark the opening of la creperie de perry which is the building right here on the right it will be a table service and quick service restaurant once it's open the ratatouille expansion will make the france pavilion the largest pavilion in world showcase number one as progress continues on epcot's overhaul disney announced that opening this summer we can expect a brand new flagship merchandise location called the creations shop it'll be taking over the old mouse gears location and this piece of concept art was recently released imagineer zach ridley said the new store will be an open bright and welcoming environment with huge glass walls that'll allow sunlight to pour in and make you feel like you're in touch with nature now in addition to the creations shop we're also seeing the return of club cool where we'll be able to taste soda flavors from around the world once again the new club cool location will be adjacent to the creations shop but no new concept art has been released disney did say though that the space will have some new magic to bring the global experience of coca-cola to life once disney announces a specific opening date i'll be sure to keep you updated so from everything on this list what's
