I had the same take on AD being the second best player right now once the playoffs rolled around. His floor can never be as high as a ball dominant elite playmaker but his versatility and skillset allow for him to still be a great floor raiser for a big man while being the best ceiling raiser next to LeBron. I think we will learn about the impact of a player like him in the next couple of years, the times of do-it-all Guards and Forwards are not over but it's becoming clear that very few players can actually get you to the promised land with this playstyle. The only truly consistent player of this archetype has been LeBron. ADs playoff performances have been great every time he made the post season, too. Him Bron and Jokic are the only guys to consistently exceed their rs production in the second season and that should also be worth a lot.
The insane thing about AD is that if this shooting keeps up, he's gonna get votes for MVP I believe. He was unstoppable in the playoffs.
Will be interesting to see Davis next season. Im not so sure if he is actually top 5, but this postseason the way he shot the midrange, 3 ball, and defended the paint and perimeter he actually had a case for best player in the league and the actual best player was on his team. I think he will win DPOY next year, just like Kawhi won with ehh regular seasons.
